Devotional for Overthinking Women: 60 Days of Scripture, Guided Journaling, and Simple Tools to Quiet Anxiety and Find Lasting Peace in 10 Minutes a Day
As someone who frequently finds themselves trapped in a loop of "what-ifs" and late-night mental marathons, I was eager to dive into my advanced reader copy (ARC) of this new release from EverHope Press.
Structure & Content The layout is incredibly consistent, making it easy to weave into a morning or evening routine. In small ten minute sessions. Each of the 60 days follows a clear, four-part framework:
Scripture: A curated Bible verse to centre the mind.
Devotional: A reflection connecting the verse to the specific struggles of an overactive brain.
Invitation for Reflection: Targeted journal prompts to help you dig into your own thought patterns.
Prayer: A guided prayer to close the session.
The Highlights What stood out most were the thought-provoking suggestions regarding faith and overthinking. It doesn't just tell you to "stop worrying"; it explores the religious nuances of why we overthink—often touching on themes of control, trust, and the desire for certainty.
The "Women" Label: While the title targets women, I found the content to be largely universal. Men, anyone who considers themselves non traditional gender, and non-binary individuals struggling with anxiety and rumination would find just as much value here; the gendered branding feels a bit unnecessary given the broadness of the wisdom.
Repetition: Because it covers 60 days on a singular topic, some sections did start to feel a bit repetitive by the halfway mark. Some themes are revisited frequently, which might be helpful for reinforcement but can feel a little "deja vu" if you're reading it daily.
If you have a problem with overthinking, running problems over and over in your head, can’t settle your mind, and feel out of control, this devotion is for you. This is a 60 day devotion that doesn’t help you stop all the worrisome thoughts but will help you learn how to deal with them when they come into your life. Hopefully, each day will bring you closer to a peace by the time you get to the end of the 60 days.
This plan is for 10 minutes a day and has 4 parts: A scripture verse to read, a short devotional, a couple of questions to aid in your journaling and small action to help you with each day. There is also a very short prayer at the end which is spot on for what you need for that day. Each subject is directed toward what we as women are hit with each and every day as we navigate our families, jobs and walk with Christ.
I fell in love with this devotion and the ease of how it is set up to help obtain peace and calm while going through each day.
