Jeannette grew up in a large family, number ten out of eleven children, eight of them being older brothers. She quickly developed a great sense of humor, mostly from necessity. One of her greatest joys is sitting on the porch where they were all raised and hearing the stories from years gone by. Quietly laughing to herself, she notices how they embellish the stories more and more each year.

Storytelling was passed down from her grandfather and mother. Jeannette caught the bug at a very young age. If she didn’t have her head in a book, then she was off somewhere with a notebook, jotting down stories of what she would write if one day she became an author. Although the notebook may have vanished, the stories are still vivid and waiting for the right time to be told.

Despite having an amazing family, there have also been some sorrows in her life, including the loss of loved ones. Over the years, Jeannette has spent countless hours volunteering for different organizations and acting as a caregiver to those dearest to her. As a result, supporting the elderly became of utmost importance.

As she approached a milestone birthday in 2015, she decided to take her passion for writing and blend it with her desire to continue to help others. As she writes her stories, she hopes they touch someone’s life. Within the layers of the romance, the foundation remains throughout and is one that is dear to her; make a difference in someone’s life each day!

In 2016 she met someone who encouraged her to push herself even further and try her hand at spicy intrigue. One year later she has four books in this new series and each one pushing her limits just a bit further.

Like the wind, Jeannette’s life changed directions several times over the years, yet one constant remains: her desire to leave this Earth a little better than when she entered it as she tries to live by these words, Make your mark on the world today as your acts of kindness is all anyone will remember in years to come!

I stopped reading at 21% when the supposedly intelligent and educated woman decides to more or less blackmail the 'billionaire' (who arrives smartly dressed in a suit [oh god.. a Ralph Lauren suit no less] for his date with her ) to come and clean a park. SHE of course is dressed in appropriate clothes....

It's one of those cringe-worthy scenes that has appeared in several books recently - with the 'sassy' (aka thoroughly rude) female setting out to humiliate the billionaire who she has only recently met.

But, think about it. No self-respecting man, billionaire or not, would be likely to think much about a woman who deliberately tries to make a fool of him.

I stopped reading at that point. I can think of no reason why this has become such a fad.... making a man feel like an idiot is not, in my opinion. any way to get him to hang around. And any man with the clout and determination to have made that much money while still young, would tell her to take a running jump.

She turned to him with a smile and said, 'Mr Vinchi, I guess this is not the type of event you expected, or what you're used to attending.'

'Is it that obvious I expected something different?' he asked sarcastically. 'What is also obvious is the lack of surprise by this fact. Could it be you neglected to give more details on this event on purpose?'

Acting shocked, Lizette said, 'Now, Mr Vinchi, why would I do such a thing to someone as important as you?'

Euw. No way. Just imagine if the tables were turned and it was a man tricking a woman with such complete contempt - there would be an uproar.

No thanks. I like my characters to have some intelligence and act with common decency and courtesy towards other people. A shame really, because the cover was pretty good.

Very good billionaire HEA story

This story is a very good billionaire with the happily ever after. Its very well written. You can connect to the characters. It's a standalone, but there are other books in the series.
Overview. Lizette works with a non profit group that helps people in the community. She also volunteers at several events when she is not doing her accounting job at second chance. When Lizette's boss gets sick, she is asked to attend an event and find sponsors to help their group. That night she bumps into Jon, aka jonhaton Vigini, a billionaire up for auction. She d leant know who he is until then end, of the night when she win a dream date with him. She refuses to claim the prize and leaves. Then she changes the dream date and makes him volunteer cleaning a park. Jon feels cheated but goes with the flow. Later Jon finds out that his friends set this all up. Now he wants to know if she was in on it or did they have a real connection. Jon flies out to see her again and sees that the connection is real, but both fight it. Lots of twist and turn and a fake engagement don't help. But love is in the air when the two are together. Kristy dean

I honestly enjoyed the story. It was very interesting that I wasn't able to put the book down until I reached the end. I've read a lot of Billionaire Romance but this one somehow have a different vibe into it. And I mean that positively. The characters, and the events leading to the conflict was smoothly and beautifully woven I hardly see any fault. Every scene was also appropriately collaborated that lead to an interesting progressive plot.

I guess the only thing I was looking for was an emotional connection. And I know it's probably just me that felt this way. Stories like this usually get the reader emotionally connected to the characters as though they are part of the scene. Though it all depends on how the author wrote the story and not the story itself. The Billionaire's Secret, each event occurred timely, and the characters reactions, and how they felt with regards to these events are very appropriate. In fact, they react and felt into the situation perfectly. However as a reader, it's like I was reading about it and I know it's the right thing to happen. I see the characters feeling it, but I did not feel the characters feeling it.

But as I said it's a very personal opinion and probably due to the fact that I am not yet in tune with the prose of the writer. As I heard, this is her first book. And for a debut novel, I find this writer very promising. I am hoping to unearth Brad's character more as the series goes and get more in tune with the character as the series progresses. So yes, I am definitely looking out for the next ones.

It's the characters' personalities that usually get a reader like me hook to a novel, and there are several more people in this new series that sounds interesting enough to look forward to.

The Billionaire's Secret is Book One in the Betting on You Series

This is a light, easy escape with likable characters and a predictable plot.

The story centers on Jon and Lizette. He a billionaire and she an accountant at a non-profit organization.

When Billionaire and workaholic, Jon Vinchi, is tricked into raffling himself as 'most eligible bachelor' at a fundraising event, he gets more than he bargained for.

At the last minute, Lizette attends the fundraiser, standing in for her boss who is sick. She has no idea who Jon is and when they meet, sparks fly.

A series of miscommunications and assumptions keep the relationship interesting, not to mention Jon's friends. They "help" in the romance, mainly to show Jon there is more to life than work.

There is plenty of room for the secondary characters to get their own stories.

If you're looking for escape with some romance and a bit of raunch on the side, pick this series up.

Good for a freebie on iBooks.

**TYPO
The company she works for is Another Chance*! (But page 231) Not 'Another Choice..' (anyone else see this?)

I'd say I'm about 70% into this book now and main female character is actually starting to irritate me..

I mean, they have an amazing night together sparks fly all that - the next morning she comes up with all these thoughts in her head and leaves abruptly leaving a cold note behind for him. 'Thanks for the sex, oh yeah about that sponsorship...' who's really using who for what here??

Can't stand how these 'average' girls assume the worst in these billionaires 'he doesn't care about me, this must be a regular occurrence for him with all these women throwing themselves at him, i'm just a nobody blah blah blah'' Oh I know! i'll just treat him like dirt give him the cold shoulder!

Not realistic at all, If this was in RL, he'd drop her faster than a toupee in a hurricane. No one would find her mood swings the least bit desirable. No one.

Well there ya go folks, end rant. Now i have to finish this book for closure.

Now I remember...

why I gave up on this book the first time I tried to read it. Not only was the plot fairly senseless (not unusual in a romance, of course), the characters flat, and the dialogue awkward and stilted, but several scenes and situations were so unbelievable that I felt embarrassed for the author. But then I started to suspect the book was written by filling in the blanks of some sort of romance novel template. Or maybe by a romance-writing android. Whatever the case, I stopped feeling embarrassed for the author and started feeling sorry for the readers who might have paid for the book, instead.

Two stars because at least the SPaG wasn't horrendous.

Enjoyable

Lizette was an accountant for non profit in her home town and they going to have to find funding. Her boss calls her into the office on Friday and tells she have to go to a party in her place to gather funding. Jon was tricked by his friends to go to a party they help set up for one of their charities. That is how they met, the rest is history.

For this being Jeannette's first book it was amazing. I couldn't tell it was first published book.. It was as if I was reading someone who had published many books.
Reading The Billionaire's Secret I was just captivated. The characters were perfect. I don't think could have done a better job on choosing the characters. I though Jon and Pipette were perfect for each other.
Jon is one sext Billionaire. He was entered into a draw where someone would won him for a night. Of course he did not know about this until it was to late. Before the event starts he meets a woman that is so beautiful that he is just drawn to her.
Lizette is asked to go the charity event to cover for her boss. A
She goes because she needs to find a new donor to help her job. While walking around she see's a man whom is gorgeous. She speaks with him about her non-profit charity and on how they need donors. While waiting around she see Jon on stage. She begins to leave and her name is called.

Did you actually think I was going to tell you the whole story? Sorry but your going to have to pick up your own copy and fall in love yourself.

This wasn't a terrible book, but the writing was stilted. The conversations were very formal and didn't read the way normal people speak to one another. Also, it just wasn't plausible how Lizette kept referring to Jon as Mr. Vinchi. After their first night together, she left him a note and signed it with her full name. WTH! She'd just slept with him, but her note telling him that she was leaving was so formal that you'd think they were business associates. It just didn't read smoothly.

The premise of the book was fairly good, but JW just didn't pull it off well. I admit that I had to skip toward the end to get through it, but I didn't really miss anything since it was basically summarized in a conversation between Jon and Lizette's dad. It's doubtful that I'll go on to read other books in this series. I'd have to check reviews before I spent any money.

Too unrealistic

The first thought I had when I started reading this was "People don't talk like that." Americans use contractions. A lot. There was too much dialogue that didn't flow easily because contractions weren't used.

Lizette's fainting spell: not letting someone sleep after hitting their heads is old school. Very old school. And when she finally went to her house she decided that since the concussion had passed it was safe to sleep. Concussions don't pass, and they take weeks to resolve.

Lizette dumped Jon twice and disappeared, yet all it took was for him to say "I love you" for all the imagined transgressions to disappear? Come on.

Will not be reading the rest of the books in this series. The premise of this book was good and there was a potential of it being a good read, but the writing was too stilted and inaccurate.

Let's make one thing clear.
The only reason I read the this book was because it was on the free books section on iBooks.

I needed a light read after reading the fucked up ending of We Were Liars, and this seemed like the perfect book.
As I read on, I quickly realised how badly this book was written. The characters has no depth and frankly it reminded me too much of 50 Shades of Grey (or the little that I read of that book).
It's that typical book, were the rich guy loves the girl despite the girl being really rude at first. It's that typical book, were the girl hates him but wants him so much. :////
The only reason I actually finished this book was because I had to read a book with a "happy" ending.

Jon sounded quite good at first but I felt like he was too much like Christian Grey.
His friends seemed nice and I really liked Ma and her family. I thought the were soooooooo cute.

Enjoyable story!

Lizette is a hardworking accountant, who hides her beauty and personality under a tight bun and stark office clothes. She's caring about the community and the people in her lives, and passionate about her job.

Jon is a brilliant businessman, who's worked hard for his success and is motivated by the loss of his father. He likes to keep out of the public eye and has little time for personal relationships.

For different reasons, they are forced to attend a charity evening, where they literally collide. Their chemistry is undeniable and so begins a tentative relationship, where Lizette seems to be constantly running away from Jon's high-handedness.

Overall, a decent, lighthearted and sexy debut, and plan to read more from this author.

This was a very enjoyable read that I read front to back in one sitting! Just couldn't put it down. It's a very well written billionaire finds love story that I enjoyed very much. It also has some very interesting characters that should give us great future stories. I would definitely recommend it.

This book started with such promise. Then it turned into poorly written, poorly edited highly predictable story/dialogue/description. There were parts that couldn't keep track of who was doing what, characters changed their tune and perspectives on a dime, and it just spiraled into juvenile writing. I had to force myself to finish reading it.

2.5 🌟

Ok storyline. Serious accountant of a non-profit charity meets handsome man at a fund-raiser. She doesn't realise he is actually a mega-rich businessman until she unexpectedly wins a date with him as the lucky-door raffle prize at the event.

Jon is cocky and sure of himself, but it is love/lust at first sight when he meets Lizette. She's not impressed by his money and she's upset that he let her have a rambling conversation with him without first telling her who he was. Their 'date' is spent cleaning up a local playground as part of her community outreach program. Somehow the two manage to overcome their rocky start and quickly become lovers.

Jon is manipulative. He goes behind Lizette's back to organise her office job to be based with him in New York instead of her current smaller town location. He says he's her fiancee when she is in hospital (with amnesia) after a head injury. Lizette is angry at Jon's behaviour and leaves him. He's upset and clueless, she's confused and sad. When he figures out that communication is key and drops the three magic words Lizette quickly forgives him for everything at they live happily ever after.

I found the dialogue a bit too formal and clunky-sounding, and I thought there wasn't much foundation for their deep feelings of love after such a short relationship.

This book contains descriptive love scenes.

Annoying behavior doesn’t sell

I appreciate that this book was free but oh my did the main character Lizzette got on my nerves with her stupid behavior. I had to skip through majority of the book to get to the ending. News flash hun, not every billionaire cheats or is a Casanova. The fact that everytime something happens she begins to cry and start to think of the worst case scenario? Seriously you’re that fragile and naive child? Not to mention that he couldn’t never know what to do and when to do it. The fact that when his friend(s) is telling him the truth he was like “I’m so angry and frustrated but what they’re saying is true.” SERIOUSLY??????! Like you are a grown ass man, you can’t think for yourself? There’s nothing wrong with it the first time and or the second time but all the time?????? These main characters especially the female one is too childish for my liking and this was definitely not my cup of tea. I have book two in my library and now I’m second guessing if I should actually read it or not

Okay but not one to read again.
I grabbed this as a free read a few years ago. Read it and reviewed it then but that review is missing.
Grabbed the box set through Kindle Unlimited, not knowing how much I disliked the first books heroine.
Lizette the heroine is biased, rude, manipulative and downright mean to the hero. All because she was embarrassed that she didn’t know who he was when he was talking to her.
If a man treated a woman like that, there would be claims that he was a misogynist.
Tricking someone by not telling them facts, just to embarrass them is cruel.
The fact is, Jon is a typical thoughtless, used to getting his way, thoroughly work oriented man. He wouldn’t be a billionaire if he wasn’t.
He doesn’t always act well in regards to Liz.
He is also very poor at expressing his emotions, once he realises what they are.
The amnesia part made me roll my eyes.
I never felt these two should be a couple, they just didn’t gel.

First in the series. I got for free on Amazon. Happy not to have paid full price!

I'm a sucker for the Cinderella trope. I was hoping this book would give me that fix. I got more than I bargained for. We also get the BIG MISUNDERSTANDING, miscommunication & amnesia.
Dialogue is stiff. We get plenty of you are, will not, I will. What's weird is she also uses contractions in the same sentence, so not sure what the deal is with that.

The hero is OK, but not a talker (thus miscommunication). The heroine has a bad habit of flouncing off in a huff, but won't tell the hero why she's mad at him (again, miscommunication).
Unprotected sex, without any conversation about birth control or health. Both H/h are unconcerned she might be pregnant when she passes out.

So, just not the author for me. Definitely not the story for me :(

Lovely writing, lovely heroine, controlling love interest

Jon (the love interest) is a billionaire used to getting his way. Lizette is a strong woman who sees his manipulations for what they are. Throughout the whole book she gets mad at him for changing her life to suit his without asking her beforehand. But she never confronts him on his behavior. They talk about improving their communication as a couple but she never brings up any of the times he has controlled her life. IRL controlling and manipulating your partner's life is a precursor to domestic abuse. Even just writing this makes me upset. I enjoyed most of the book but the manipulation of the heroine made it difficult to enjoy the happily ever ending. I would recommend this book to people who can overlook this and want a fun quick read.

Great love story

Jon and Lizette didn't imagine that they would ever meet. When Lizette is told to take her bosses place at a charity event she doesn't have another choice. Once she arrives Lizette meets Jon and is excited to maybe get to know him better until she finds out who he really is. After getting to know Lizette for a short amount of time Jon wants more. Lizette can't believe that Jon won't quit when she's told him too. When Jon makes a huge mistake with Lizette and pushes her away, Jon wants nothing more than to correct his mistake. Will time run out before Jon fixes his mistake?

A nice enough romance with - on the surface - two rather unlike people: the billionaire workaholic focussed on a new research development, and the do-good accountant, thrown together by his good meaning and meddling friends.
A modern sort of Cinderella story, with nice and likeable characters, a fairly good plot, and I am sorry to say, a moderate storytelling with some contents relation and lots and lots of spelling issues.
On the whole, though, not a bad book at all, and interesting enough to make me contemplate to get the second in the series, perhaps.

Hey! For me personally, sport is my life. Honestly, I can't imagine my life without sports, it's impossible!
I have been involved in various sports since I was 3 years old and during this time I managed to try almost everything, but recently it turned out that there is a sport that I have not even heard of, I am talking about football! I immediately decided to learn more about him and came across this betting site: https://betwinners.in/use-of-cookies/ . This interested me and I decided to make some bets and what was my surprise that I won.

Quick Easy read

2.75 Stars

The story starts off good but gets a little wishy-washy and there’s way too much push and pull.

Lisette meets Jon at a charity event. She mistakes him for an employee and he doesn’t correct her so when she finds out he’s a billionaire, she’s pissed. Lisette becomes very distrustful of Jon because he’s rich.

Lisette is constantly pushing Jon away and making assumptions without talking to him. Jon uses his money and influence to try and make things go his way but also forgets to talk to Lisette about how he feels.

I like how the story started and how it ended but the middle needs lots of work.
