Where Are You Now, God?, by Tammy Trent, is a good nonfiction read for anyone out there who has ever wondered if they have been abandoned, ignored, or rejected by God in their worst moments.

Trent helps us understand where God is in every moment of our lives, even if we don’t recognize or feel him there. He has never left or abandoned us. She gives us personal stories to relate to each chapter, Bible verses and stories that relate to each chapter, questions for personal self-reflection, and a prayer over every reader. Trent gives us ideas of how to help us see that God has always been present for us.

I recommend this to anyone that is a believer in Christ whose has ever felt this way and asked themselves, “where are you God?”, when they felt they needed Him the most.

I remember hearing Tammy Trent speak years ago at a conference, and I was amazed at what she has overcome in her life and her ability to convey some deep emotions in an influential way. I really appreciated her perspective in this book. She has been dealt a tough hand in life, and I appreciated who she is and the strength she has gained through those experiences. She has some anecdotal stories of her own and shares others’ stories that will lend a hand to the readers own journey. This was a quick read that I believe will help many in your own spiritual walk.

A soul-baring book in which the author uses her own experiences to encourage us to recognise that, whatever our pain, whatever difficulties we are in, God is with us and able to give us strength if we will let him. I have no doubt about the author's sincerity or the importance of this message. The book is written in a chatty style, which came across to me as a bit too American (I am a Brit) and I found it slightly repetitive in places. But I am sure many readers will warm to the style more than I did, and will find the book helpful.
