Grasping Joy will grasp your heart from the very first chapter! Heidi recounts her very personal journey from before her son, Drew's cancer diagnosis, all the way until he is finally set free. Heidi openly shares how clung to joy, thankfulness, and peace, which was only possible because of her personal relationship with God. It was amazing to read chapter after chapter of her having to choose over and over to trust in God and His plan for her sweet boy's life. Drew, however, is the true star of the book and his personality shines through in every line. Drew brought joy to everyone he encountered and was a true angel on earth. I promise this book will have you crying while smiling and will encourage everyone to find joy and gratitude no matter what you are facing.
"The power of the Cross not only freed us from the fear of death, but guaranteed we all would get our happy ending, no matter what. What good news! If this was all there was, it would be pretty sad. It's only in the light of this Truth, that we can press on. Keep coming back to the face of ugliness. Have Hope. Find LIFE in this world, be free to give thanks, and embrace the joy we can find in each day. I closed my eyes. Thank you Lord, for saving us from this tragic world." page 153
