What a fun read! While this is a quick novella it's full of laughs and mystery. I just love the cover as well. It's just says "READ ME"

What a awesome story....The characters are fantastic and all fit perfectly in the Bayou. Felicity and Cal head for the Bayou and meet some quite fun characters. I think my favorite is the pawn shop owner Pim and The Sinful Ladies Society, Ida.

Felicity is off to find her missing father who may be dead and they go through the Bayou and end up traveling to Number Two...Oh yes just the way it sounds it's a stinky place, lol.

Lots of mysteries in the Bayou with some humor and fun and of course hot Cal <3

Another great book in the Miss Fortune series.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. The new characters working with the characters from the first book were great. I love the characters so much.
If you like a good mystery you will enjoy this one.

I really enjoyed revisiting the gang in between books. I liked how this author didn't try to duplicate the characters much, but made his own characters and added the real Miss Fortune characters here and there. If this author did more "in between" books short stories I would absolutely read them.

First book in a great new mystery series!

Being a fan of Sam Cheever, I am excited to read this first book in her new mystery series. I really like Felicity Chance and Cal Amity as the main characters. The play on their names is interesting. There are a lot of twists and turns in this short story to keep me guessing whodunit. The setting for this mystery is in the fictional town of Bent, Alabama. I enjoyed the zany and colorful characters that make their home in Bent. I hope to revisit them in future books.

As I have come to expect from Sam Cheever, this is a well-written and engaging story. I found BAYOU BUBBA to be an entertaining, fun, clean, imaginative, short read that was easily finished in one sitting.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Be prepared, Ms. Cheever has a talent for turning phrases like "My pores sprouted copious amounts of sweat as soon as I removed them from the blissfully cool air of the diner".

Felicity Chance is looking for her father, Felonius Chance III, who has dissapeared. She has hired the gorgeous hunk, PI Cal Amity, to find him. A body has shown up of a homeless man named Bubba. Could this be her father?

Get ready for a trip to the Bayou, meet some unfriendly and overly friendly people, not to mention the alligators, everywhere.

This wasn't my favorite story by Sam Cheever, but I still recommend it if you want to laugh and enjoy a fun relaxing story.  It is not long and an easy read.

Bayou Bubba is part of the anthology SUMMER SNOOPS: DOWN UNDER, headed up by Judith Lucci.

I was in the middle of a particularly gruesome murder (reading about it, not actually performing the crime) and needed something to cheer me up before plunging back into the maelstrom of gore - I chanced upon 'Bayou Bubba' by Sam Cheever.
Its setting is Sinful, Louisiana, in a world already populated by Jana Deleon in her 'Miss Fortune' series.
I'd never come across a Kindle Worlds book before - the idea being that certain authors opened up their series to other writers - and it seems a pity that it pulled down the shutters in 2018.
The story is par for the course, Miss Felicity Chance has hired P.I. Cal Amity (puhlease!) to find her missing father - the trail leads to Sinful.
It's a jolly enough short read but not quite up to the Jana Deleon standard. Still, it took my mind off horrific murders for a while.

This is beginning of series that I really hope will continue for a very long time.
Miss Chance father is missing and PI Cal Amity is helping her find him. Lead takes them into Bayou deep in the South where they make unlikely friends, encouner some scary characters and eat some delicious food.
There are also sparks flying between Miss Chance and her PI that may evolve into something more in future.
They also acomplish what they came to do but that is not the end. Just the beginning of more adventures.
Easy read with lots of humor which I particularly appreaciate, clues that lead everywhere but to the culprit which makes this mystery read even more mysterious, and many quirky characters that south is so famous for are abundant.
Highly recommended.

It is more or less assumed that Jana Deleon gave Mr. Cheever permission to use her locale and characters for his first book. He was a smart man, as I love Jana's books and have bought every one in the Miss Fortune series.
Well I loved the book, as I just love Sinful and its characters and now I love Miss Chance and am looking forward to reading this new series. Nothing like Sinful, its characters and their dilemmas and laughing. The Sheriff alone is priceless.
Anyone who has never read the Miss Fortune series and doesn't know about Sinful, Louisiana does not know what they are missing. They are a great read, and talk about laugh out loud, you will split your sides.
So it would seem that there is another series to look forward to. Happy reading everyone.

New series by wonderful author. Watch out for some hilarious fun. Join the fun to come w by starting here at the beginning.

First our main characters names are Miss Chance and Cal amity. I think the author has a thing for playing with words. Don’t believe me check out her other books and their series, especially the Croakies series with Mr. Wicked – HI!

Imagine someone who has money, and collects purses, heading for the bayou with a really hunky private investigator. Just because a coin shows, ends up identifying a body, but…..

You will have to read it and enjoy the laughs to find out what happens.

Fun, fast, enjoyable read. Obviously a standalone since first in series.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

A Bayou Small Town Cozy
Felicity, daughter of a fairly rich man, starts looking for him when he vanishes suddenly. The only things he took were a gold coin collection and his whiskey. 8 months later the PI she hired finally has a trail and it leads into Bayou Country, Alabama. Felicity insists of going with her Pi, especially when she hears that the man who could be her father has been found dead.
The town they find themselves in is full of unusual characters, quirky to eccentric. Finding out what happened to that man and why he had been murdered becomes their main goal.
A funny cozy with lots of scenes that make the reader smile. Entertaining and well-written, I am looking forward to the next book in this series

I love these side stories that Sam Cheever creates. We meet Felicity Chance, BFF of Joey in the Country Cousins series - and we meet handsome Cal P.I. the brother of handsome Hal Amity. We also get the pleasure of meeting two seemingly "busy-body old ladies" that run the B.S. (Bent Society). We are taken on a crazy journey in the Bayou looking for Felicity's dad who is in hiding from ...? You'll have to read the book to find out who...

This short story will give you just a peek into a new series and a new author if you've never read (or like me heard) of Sam Cheever before. Miss Felicity Chance finds herself in the small town of Sinful, Louisiana looking for her father what she finds is a cast of characters and situations that baffle her along with her hired P.I. Cal Amity she solves a murder case and does some back woods bayou shopping!!!

Bayou Bubba is a really fun story. Felicity Chance employs private investigator Cal Amity (ha ha ) to find her missing father. The trip leads them to the bayou. This was a really fun story.
I very much liked the characters and the mystery was a fun one. This is the start of a great series.

Alabama Bayous and Moonshine
In this short episode, Felicity Chance and her PI Cal Amity travel to the Alabama bayous in search of her dad. It is a short and exciting adventure. Unfortunately, for every loose end they solve, two more appear. It is fun and cool at the same time. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.

Mostly humorous action packed drama, action and mystery

What’s a gal to fo when her Daddy goes missing?

Miss Fortune hires a PI

Have things taken a lethal final turn?

In a Sam Cheever book, a body is usually another beginning- twists, turns and complications

Drama, humor and really twisted family relationships

Love, love, love

I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy!

Fan fiction at its best

I didn't think anyone could match Jana de Leon when it comes to Miss Fortune and Bent - but Sam Cheever has done a fantastic job. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

This is a fun and entertaining story.
Miss Felicity Chance hires PI Cal Amity to help track down her father after he disappeared.
All roads lead to Alabama, where they pick up clues of her fathers location only to find that there's a body in the morgue that strongly resembles her dad.

Great story. Kept me guessing who was the murderer. Never suspected a double . Wonder if the third trophy wife will say her husband is dead...

Fun Read

This was really just fun. The characters were entertaining, and just what those of us that don't live in the bayou would assume them to be like.
I enjoyed the chemistry between Cal and Felicity. He's strong and hard, whereas she's a princess....to prefect.
You know you want them together and you keep turning thinking....
The whole world of Sinful is sweet...having not read the actual books that Sinful is taken from, I thoroughly enjoyed it...stinky island and all.
Personally, if I had to deal with a sheriff like Cal did...I would have been arrested. And I thought honestly someone else killed Bubba!!! I never guessed the real killer even in the end....I still thought they were going for you know who....oh wait you don't...lol
Well over all it's a fun who done it...but no the didn't read. With goofy characters, set in a busybody bayou town....Awesome!!!! Well Done.

I received this in exchange for a honest review.

4 STARS

This is my first kindle worlds book that I have read. This is in the world of Miss Fortune but written by a different writer. If I compare to Jana than this would be only 3 stars. But I thought it was a good novella that was entertaining and true to Miss Fortune world.

I liked the characters and would like to see more of Miss Felicity Chance. I love that she cares about her father and has gone to look for him. She also loves purses.

Bayou Bubba is dead and clues lead Felicity and her PI Cal to thinking he might be her father but can't get a positive ID on the body so they try and back track him.

I would have liked a longer book. More in depth of characters and there past.

I would read more from Sam Cheever in the future I have already downloaded one .

Funny who done it!

This story is a lighthearted who done it. I found myself laughing at the crazy antics of the folks in Sinful, Louisiana and hoping Felicity and Cal found her father. As the story continues, the folks of this bayou town kept this reader entertained as they figured out what happened to Bayou Bubba!

Good novella

Not bad. As a Miss Fortune addict, this story was close enough Jana DeLeon's books, but lacked the continuity and humor of Miss Fortune's stories.
One sentence didn't make sense to me but for the most part I enjoyed this book.
