(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Kats Kreative Ideas and NetGalley.)

“Now I understood why he slowed up. It wasn’t because he missed me. It was so he could remind me who I belonged to.”

This was an okay adult contemporary romance, but I did lose interest a bit.

Annabelle and Jackson had quite an explosive relationship in this book. They assumed things, jumped to conclusions, and made hasty decisions based on these assumptions, and their relationship was just on/off, up/down, and all over the place. They didn’t listen to each other enough, and just didn’t communicate well at all, and it was wonder their relationship was hard for them because of it!

This book basically consisted of the ups and downs of Jackson and Annabelle’s relationship, with a couple of hot sex scenes when they were actually talking to each other. I did find the lack of communication and jumping to conclusions a bit annoying, and I did lose interest a bit when the whole book seemed to continue in the same fashion.

The ending to this was also a cliff-hanger, which for me was also a little irritating.

6 out of 10.

GIVE AND TAKE sucked me in right away. Eden has created a wonderful love story that is complicated by distance as well as a lack of full confidence and trust between Annabelle and Jackson. Life throws up secrets from the past, adds in disingenuous friends as well as some troublesome family members to make developing a relationship difficult for Annabelle and Jackson. Add to all of that the quite normal and expected growing pains of a couple coming together and trying to blend their lives together there is plenty of room for drama between Annabelle and Jackson. The majority of the story takes place in Beauville which is a small town and embodies all of the problems and benefits of a closely linked community. Everyone knows everyone else's business and people are free and loose with their opinions and meddling.

GIVE AND TAKE has a lot going on in it. Jackson and Annabelle have to work out the logistics of their relationship. Annabelle has to come to terms with they type of man that she has fallen in love with. Jackson is not the sweet words and loving gestures type of man. While Jackson has to realize that the woman that he has fallen for wants a kind of independence that will require him to bend a bit. Annabelle discovers the answers to questions from her past that reveals new connections for her. Jackson's past also comes back in big ways that are life changing for them both.

GIVE AND TAKE has a well developed storyline, characters that evoke strong responses (both positive and negative), and full on sexiness that is a nice bonus to a good romance. However, alas, GIVE AND TAKE ends in a cliffhanger. It isn't a little, comfortable, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens between them next kind of cliffhanger either. It's the I want to flip the table over kind of cliffhanger. It's a heart in your chest, praying to the book faeries that the book isn't really going to end here kind of cliffhanger. Yep, it's that big! So I suppose that I have no choice but to be patient and hope that book 2 comes out fairly soon. Although this cliffhanger was a little dagger to my heart I believe that I will still add GIVE AND TAKE to my favorites list. I can't deny that I was well and truly sucked into the story and enjoyed what I have received so far. It's just...this dang story ended in a cliffhanger! (Yes, I know that I am whining!)

Dear cliffhanger, oh how I loathe thee! Sigh...

This book was so bloody hilarious. Lola had me in absolute stitches. Couldn't get enough of her.
There wasn't one moment when I wanted to put down this book, not even when I was having a 'Stand strong Anna' moment.
The author's style is straight-forward and easy to read. There is no needless detail, so the pace is great. At the same time, the reader is left in no doubt of the setting and background of her characters. A difficult balance which Tigris Eden has perfected in this story.

Oh, and Jackson is fan-face worthy.

NOOOOOOOOO I CAN'T WAIT THIS LONG FOR ANOTHER BOOK. Oh how will I survive the wait?

OH MY GOODNESS!! I swear I am not going to throw a tantrum but I seriously want to. For-real!!! Cliffhanger totally a kick in the lady parts!!! Plus I got to read this book waaay early and now I have a longer wait then the rest of the world. *Bursts into tears*. Okay okay I’m better now let’s move on to the review and past my emotional state.

Jackson and Annabelle are an adorable and sexy couple who aren’t without their issues. Jackson is the Sheriff of Beauville and wants Annabelle to move back home and in with him, and he isn’t going to take no for an answer. Annabelle has worked hard for her career and wants to make sure she’s made it before she heads back home. The two of them are known for heated arguments and passionate hot make up sex, lots of it. When everything seems to be working out for them obstacles the size of continents begin rising up and threatening to break them apart. It was so insane with everything that happened. So much happens and yet it didn’t feel overwhelming, just like OMG WHAT ELSE COULD GO WORSE!! It was great.

Annabelle is a great character; she’s sassy, funny quick witted, a southern belle, and a little bit of a diva. I love how she stands up for what she believes in and even when Jackson tries to push her over on stuff she stands firm…some of the time. Annabelle is just an all around amazing, strong and independent woman. She takes care of everyone around her. I just love Annabelle.

Jackson is a total and complete swoon worthy jerk sometimes. First off Jackson is beyond hot, total drool worthy sex machine material. That being said, he can be a complete and total A-hole. He’s insensitive at times, when he doesn’t get what he wants he figures out was to get it and he’s a bit of an overlord on everything. Now I know I just listed a boat load of qualities that sound really unappealing and I’m not going to say Jackson’s sex appeal makes up for him being a troll sometimes, but since we get his POV in this book I now have more insight into who he is and how much he really cares about the people around him even though he comes across as calloused. I think I like him because despite him being rude sometimes he’s realistic and honest. He always says what he means and is always himself so I have to give him credit for that.

To be honest I was nervous to start this book since it seemed like in the novella that it was going to be a insta-love everything is rainbows book. I should have known better. Tigris Eden would never do something so terrible. This amazing author crafted a southern story so well. I loved how amazing this story was, never a dull moment. This story kept me on my toes and at the edge of my seat.

Can’t wait for book two and this book gets extra double points for an interracial couple. If you are into sexy hot scenes you need to get all up in this book. If you’re into books that will keep you on your toes with guessing what will happen next then you need to read this book. If you like characters who have great chemistry, arguments, and great banter then you need to read this book.

Disappointed

Part of the book was good but I just couldn't cope with the level of sexism that Jackson demonstrated. He was egostictical and domineering. He had no respect whatsoever for Annabelle. Her travelling the world from time to time for her job wasn't that big of a deal. People travel for work all the time. For him to tell her thats there was plenty to photograph in their small town was rude. He was also a hypocrite because we found out at the end that he actually had another job. He was making a lot of noise but never put Annabelle first in public - or otherwise - with Vivian, yes she hit her but what did he expect? And for her to apologise? Same thing she says I love you and he leaves without saying anything, he tells her to go collect her stuff instead of going to see her and explain and apologise for his behaviour and tell her what's going on. Lastly, she leaves and he never calls, apologises or anything, worse he sleeps with someone else. It's too much. Him wanting to continue talking about business to Talia family after they disrespected her twice. Unforgivable even more so given that he doesn't need the money.
Annabelle was so weak and insecure it was pathetic. She was prepared to accept any crumbs sent her way. Her mother was the worst never having told her daughter who her father was and encouraging her to forgive the unforgivable. Annabelle even convinced herself that she would be content photographing small town USA and play mommy to someone else kid, because apparently there are more important things in life than fame. After everything, Jackson would have had to work a lot harder to get me back, more than just taking the opportunity of me being around at a baby shower.

4.5 Stars I love me some Jackson Storme and there are no words for Cousin Lola. Suffice to say these are two people you want on your side when the sh*t hits the fan. WARNING: This book ends on a cliffhanger, which I dislike so I checked the author's website and found out that Book 3: Until Her is scheduled to drop on August 22, 2016 -- so mark your calendar. Lengthier review to follow at a later date.

I started this series not knowing what to expect because Tigris Eden is a new-to-me author. I have seen her paranormal series, but have not gotten around to reading any of it yet.

When I started this book, I felt like I was missing something. So after some research, I discovered there was an intro that I had not read, A Slow Burn. I quickly read the intro (approx. 50 pages), and I felt it was quite good. I liked the chemistry between Annabelle and Jackson and thought the first book would be going in a good direction.

Unfortunately, I did not like the first book quite as much as the intro. In fact, the whole time I was reading this book, I was complaining to my friend that I did not like it. But I couldn't stop reading! It was like rubbernecking after a train wreck, you couldn't look away. That made me realize that it was not necessarily the story that I did not like, but I just flat out did not like the characters. And hey, we are all human, and characters are like people - we are not going to like everyone we meet/read. So with this insight, I was able to move forward with the book and complain a little less. Especially considering that a number of the characters in this book were written specifically for you to hate. Let's discuss.

Jackson: He is our male lead character, an alpha-male sheriff with dark hair and golden brown eyes. I actually liked Jackson, but I did not like his inability to communicate. He was a little too caveman, grunting and throwing his weight around and just assuming everyone understood his actions.

Annabelle: She is our female lead character, and I didn't care for her a bit. She also had a problem communicating and had a bad habit of running off instead of talking to Jackson to understand the real story. She was cast as an independent female with her own career and life, however she was a little to "woe is me" to pull it off.

Annabelle also described her cousins as ghetto... and I would agree with that description. However, they were funny and added some levity to the story. I found it funny that Anna said her cousins were ghetto and crazy, when Anna was real quick to slap a bitch when she got mad. Seriously, there were some smackdown catfights in this book. This was part of the train wreck that I spoke of earlier.

Vivian: The baby mama drama. Good grief. I was waiting for the Maury Povich episode.

Talia: The frenemy that always steals your man. I absolutely detested this girl with a passion. She is horrid and gives women a bad name. I could not believe that Annabelle kept this girl around. The whole "keep your frenemies close" thing is total bullsh!t. If you are stupid enough to keep women like this in your girl posse, then you deserve what you get.

Inara: Jackson's bootycall that warns all other women off. To me, she had no self-respect and would do anything or anyone that Jackson asked just so he would keep coming back... then she used that information to taunt Annabelle. Total beyotch.

All the women of the town of Beauville: They were all catty bitches trying to get their hooks into the sexy sheriff. Seriously, there were no likable females outside of Jackson's sister and Annabelle's mother. I couldn't stand all the gossiping and cattiness of the town. And being a southern girl myself, I hate to see us stereotyped that way.

Pearl: I kinda liked Pearl, Annabelle's mom. However what I did not like was that she had a long-standing affair with a married man, and it was well-known secret to all in the town. This made it difficult for Annabelle growing up getting cast as the harlot's daughter - we all know kids can be mean. I don't approve of this type of relationship so it detracted from Pearl as a person and made me doubt her capabilities as a mother.

The on-again/off-again relationship between Annabelle and Jackson got on my nerves. They would have a huge drama and not see each other for months, then they would spend 60 seconds talking and they were back together and making out in front of the whole town. It was a bit ridiculous. The ending was a huge surprise - and I was like WTF? It basically changes the genre of the rest of the series from contemporary romance to romantic suspense. But it also guaranteed that I will read the next book to find out what happens.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It wasn't a bad story but, as a reader, I like to insert myself into a story and really feel like I am a part of it. I can honestly say that I would not socialize with any of the people in this book (except for the sheriff maybe), so I could not connect with anyone enough to really enjoy the book as much as I would have liked. 3 stars / 3 flames

it would have helped if i'd know thiswas the 2nd in a series before i started. does ok as a stand alone, though descriptions are fairley lacking because they are already given in the 1st book. i also didn't realisze it was set in Louisiana, though talk of parishes was my first big clue. but I was really confused because being from LA myself, I can tell you these people don't act right, unless they from NORTH Lousiana. Well mentioning Shreveport and Bossier cemented they are North Louisianan. Which explained a whole lot. Until I read the first page of the first book that was included as a see what you missed. Being from Baton Rouge myself, let me clear something up. Shreveport and Bossier are not 20 mi outside Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge is Southern Lousisana and a whole different world than them northern folk!

also, that ending, cliff hanger much!?!?!

***My Copy of this book is a BETA ARC given to me by Tigris Eden***

Give and Take picks up roughly a year after A Slow Burn ends. Anna and Jackson have been an item for almost a year now and as usual, the gossip in Beauville is on fire. There's a LOT of plot twists and surprises waiting in this book. And the reader is anything like me, they'll get so lost in this book they'll forget that they aren't Anna or Jackson lol

The plotline is solid and flows evenly through out the book, There's a bunch of new characters to love and hate, and of course some that will make you outright laugh. The book takes will give the reader a much better idea of the man behind Jackson Storme, where A Slow Burn only gave us a little nibble of our southern hottie sheriff.

This book does have a cliffhanger ending, you have been warned. I normally like cliffhangers but this one's a doosy I'm pretty sure I messaged Tigris when I was done and called her pure evil in flesh. However, I still love it. Cliffhangers mean mean there's more of the story, I just have to learn some patience lol.

This book is perfect for those who like the southern scenario for their romances, as always, the sex scenes are hot and detailed, there's not as many in this book as in others, but you can't miss the ones that are there.

I look forward to reading the rest of Stories from Beauville.

I give this book 5 of 5 paws.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads

This is a really engaging story, which ends ... in somewhat of a cliffhanger ... So I do hope that Ms Eden has her fingers skating across the keyboard, because I do not want to wait long for the next in the series.

The story itself is difficult to describe, but fundamentally unputdownable! It has layers, and weirdness that confuses and amuses. The lead characters are delightful, but there is clearly a darkness that is hinted at, but not explained ... clearly that is for book 2. The chemistry between Jackson and Anna is explosive, but the quieter moments have great significance too.

(NB I read an unedited review copy, so have not commented on spelling etc.)

OMG!!! This book is HOT!!!
There is a lot of drama occurring, mainly because of Jackson's previous conquests, some of their family and friends contributed as well.
I love Anna's personality. She overcomes her insecurities and doesn't allow people to walk all over her. She's a tough, "nerdy" chick. Jackson is just damn sexy with his alpha self, though he was a jerk at times.
It ends in a HUGE cliffhanger!!! So be warned!

Tigris Eden knocked this one out of the ball park. I was at the end before I was ready to be. I have not been left wonderfully hanging in a very long time. The chemistry between the couple was steamy and hot. Both characters were head strong and that made for their love worth fighting for. Annabelle fight scenes were so real I was laughing wishing I could have been there. Jackson love for her was so strong that not even the nasty women in his life could tear him away from Annabelle. No spoilers but the ending will make you want to contact the writer asking for the rest right now.

When it comes to books with major drama, I'm conflicted. On one hand I lap up the pettiness but on the other I cannot stand villains who are borderline cartoonish. Which this book has. I mean, some of the female characters in the book are one step away from twirling their mustaches. Also, the hero is bordering on my "you say alpha, I say asshole" shelf but I'll let it pass in this book.

Decent read; I'll read the follow up book just because I want to know what happens. Cause I live for pettiness

I was completely hooked on this small town and everyone in it and all their drama in ‘A Slow Burn’, a quick half-hour read that had SO MUCH going on in it.

This book keeps the pace and pretty much picks up where the other left off. Jackson and Annabelle are trying to make it work and clearly have deep feelings for one another, despite each one’s hesitation to admit it to the other. Jackson’s past shows up to haunt him, bringing Annabelle’s claws out AND Annabelle’s got a frienemy who only adds to the drama level. Just when things start to smooth out for the pair, or seem like they might anyway, all hell breaks loose.

Eden had already set the stage and developed the characters and the entire world really well. We get to see them more in-depth here and they’re all on point with what we saw previously.

There are laugh-out-loud moments, cringe-worthy drama, that I cannot get enough of, catfights and more all within this lovable and uniquely wacky small town. I cannot absorb the pages of this series fast enough!

The editing could use some help.
POV is fine, we get hers first-person and his third-person. It’s different and I like it. What I have a bit of a hard time with, is the tense isn’t consistent and there are instances of poor grammar and incorrect punctuation. However, it doesn’t change the message or scene at all, so you can still completely get lost in this book.

There’s a pretty high heat index and what I like about the sex scenes in this book, besides their hotness, is that they aren’t the same old tired sex scenes I feel like I read over and over again.

There’s a twist or two as well and as someone who predicts everything, I love this hard. It’s probably around 4 stars for me and would go up to 5 with another pass by a proofreader.

Amazing read.

Oh man is this ever a book to make your head spin while feeling every spectrum of the emotional roller coaster! It was action packed. I was thrown for a loop at the end, not just from the surprise ending I didn’t see coming but that it’s a cliffhanger. I have to read the next book now! Book gifted to me.

dnf @25%. Started well enough but the more I read, the more the characters seemed immature. It just seemed like unnecessary drama was incorporated to force me to feel a certain way. I didn't like the trajectory of this book.

Old insecurities and unrealistic demands threaten Anna and Jackson's happily ever after but hopefully with a little give and take everything will fall into place in this riveting contemporary romance.

Anna's career has become a bone of contention between Jackson and Anna but so has Jackson's past, especially when she waltzes right back into his life and the reader can't help but get caught up in all the emotional turmoil and drama that flows from every page as it seems everything and everyone conspire against Jackson and Anna having their happily ever after even with all the scorching hot sex that their fiery desires leads to there is going to have to be quite a bit of give and take. These strong compelling characters capture the heart and demand your attention while they figure it out and the steady to fast paced plot captivates readers with lots of suspense, drama and passion.

Lots of excitement and tension keeps readers on the edge of their seat as betrayals and miscomunication surrounds Anna and Jackson's relationship with chaos and some surprises both for Anna and Jackson add even more spice to the excitement. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and bring the story to life with the well orchestrated events drawing the reader deeper into Anna and Jackson's relationship and the small town setting adds the perfect ambiance for the story as well.

I have to say that the vivid intensity of the emotions that flew from Anna and Jackson throughout this story kept me completely enthralled from cover to cover and really what a cliffhanger...when does the next book come out? I will be waiting (very, very impatiently) to find out what happens next.

I started the story not really liking Jackson. He's not my kind of man but then, Anna likes him and she has to live with him, so I'm okay with him. I had my doubts about Anna too because in the beginning she seems easily manipulated by him. But then the Story took me in completely and I fell for her - hard. She is so strong, powerful, emotional, passionate, so full of life and love and laughter, and I could relate to her so much, even in her violent phases, that I would like to move in her neighbourhood just to befriend her. She totally is a gal after me own heart! And Jackson grew on me too, even if he has the typical male problems like not talking, taking everything for already understood and giving a totally wrong Picture because of that... And Anna's Family, oh my, what's not to love there? Her mom, proud and loving, her loud and crazy relatives (but so so loveable), Jackey and Trent (so cute together) - I want to know more about all of them. And after that end - THAT END!!!! I'll not say more here because I don't want to Spoiler, read it for yourself and you will know why I need, like physically hurting need to read the next book in this series... for now I consoled myself with reading the novella (Slow Burn) that comes before this book... after staying up until midnight I needed that to be able to sleep. So I run on three hours sleep today which may make my Review a bit rambling but I just wanted to say: I loved the book and want more. As soon as possible - but no pressure on the author of course. Just Sayin... :)

Giving this wonderful story 5 freaking fantastic fangs!

Ms. Eden brings us back to Beauville, Anna and Jackson have been an item for almost a year now they are the most gossiped thing in rumor mill of that is called Beulville. In this installment we get to know and see how the relationship is growing and changing for Annebelle and Jackson.

Ms. Eden's characters are strong, the plot twists will keep you turning the pages and if you are like me you will get lost in story. The characters you love you will with all your heart, the ones that you hate you will want to beat the crap out of. Tigris weaves you into the very fiber of the little Louisiana Parish.

If you are looking for a book with southern flare, steamy but not over the top, Give and Take is a keeper. I will warn that it has a major blow your mind cliffhanger of an ending. Tigris you better be writing the next one or I will have to call my cousins on you :)

I look forward to reading the rest of Stories from Beauville. Tigris is quickly becoming one of my go too Author's, I hope you all enjoy this book and series as much as I did.

I LOVE THIS BOOK... Yes, it is a continuation from Slow Burn. Anna and Jackson are meant to be. As Jackson says "You are it for me and I am it for you". However, others are determined to see them not make it. Anna is devastated to find out a secret that she didn't know about Jackson. However, she has to overcome the situation.( I still have some questions about it.) Anna finds out a whole lot of info in this saga. She believed her father was one man and finds out its someone else. She has lived her life without any siblings, but finds she has a brother.
Jackson is hot on so many levels, but his past just keeps showing up from the "7" surrounding parishes.

There is another mystery about Jackson that may cost him dearly.

Ms. Eden, you are a fav of mine and you have outdone yourself this time. WHEN WILL THE SEQUEL BE RELEASED???? I need it..

Thank you for a fabulous read....

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Annabelle Macon and Jackson Storme have a strained relationship due to issues between them both over her career and his past discretions. Anna has insecurities and has trouble expressing her feelings to Jackson and tends to default to anger as a way of expressing herself. This causes even more problems for the two, especially in the form of epic fights that lead to hot make up sex. They love each other very much and want to do whatever it takes to make their relationship work. There is a lot that takes place within this book and it definitely kept me interested from beginning to end. This story ends on quite a cliffhanger and left me wanting to know what happens next!

Excellent storyline. I really got into Jackson and Anna’s relationship, with all its turmoil, and feelings. They did not have an easy time of it and you could feel it with every word written. The drama and tension built throughout the story as Jackson’s past comes out. Anna has a lot of insecurities that come into play and also add further tension to their relationship. She compensates her insecurities through her anger, that sort of get her in hot water. But her love and possessiveness of Jackson come out and it is obvious how she feels about him. Tigris Eden brought a lot of heart and soul into this one, and the big cliff-hanger ending will have you wanting to jump to the next book.

I received this book from the author in return for an honest review. Wow!! Tigris Eden, this is a fantastic book. It has some of about everything. It has love, really hot sex, finding out who her father is, friendship, lies, secrets, fighting, laughter, tears, jealousy, revenge, babies, and suspense. One minute I was crying, the next I was laughing, the next I was needing a fan to cool off. The author really knows how to pull you right into the story, so much that you do not want to put it down. Then, it ends with a gigantic cliffhanger. How long do I have to wait to see what happens next? I hope not too much longer.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I received a beta arc copy for review.

I very much enjoyed this book. Highly recommend it.

I couldn't put this down. I felt really bad at times for Annabelle. I am glad that Jackson got it together and started new with Annabelle. I dont know if I would have put up with everything that she did, but glad she stuck with it. I thought there was something more to Jackson and glad that there is.

I can't wait form the next book. So hurry up Tigris and get it written. I will be one of the first to get it.

Super hot read focusing mainly on the relationship of Jackson and Anna, but with a surprise twist at the end that blindsides the reader! Southern small town full of secrets and scandal, some of it coming to rest on Jackson's front step in waves!

While I didn't quite like some of the stereotypical language, it lent an atmosphere to the story that was perfect. The different backgrounds came alive in the characters' voices, with the South singing out from every page. This was extremely well written and all I can say is bravo for the cliffhanger.

Keep it in your pants Jackson!

Intriguing. Exciting. Loving. Trouble. Jackson obviously has a sex problem and he knew Inara was crazy! Talia, prejudiced, bigoted, along with her father. Why didn’t Jackson tell Anna about Vivian and Ava? He is just all kind of wrong. As for Anna, you can’t help who you love but if he’s no good and at this point I sincerely have an issue with Jackson’s maturity level…is he right for Anna or will all of his women kill her? Can’t wait to find out who stabbed Anna. Onto the next book.

Give and Take

The continuing epic of Jackson and Annabelle from A SLOW BURN. The road to their relationship is not smooth, filled with past girlfriends wanting to remain in the present and betrayals. Secrets and surprises become known. There has to be compromise and understanding between them in order for them to work. How is their tale going to work out? He is an Alpha Male and she is very independent and has worked hard to get to where she is. Be aware that this episode ends on a cliffhanger. Be assured you will want to get the next book.

Wow! What a great storyline. And so much depth in the characters. I love how pieces of their lives are revealed, much like an onion being peeled, bit by bit. When I started the book I had no idea of the twists and turns the story would take. And then the ending! Wowsa!! I must get book 3 to continue their story. And did I mention....the sexy parts are red hot!!
