He's never before wanted the things she's looking for, though - marriage and kids, so maybe they can just be friends with benefits? Or maybe not...
Amy and Knox may have been friends since college, but they haven't really seen each other much in awhile. But when she hears he's been in accident, there's no way she's not rushing to the hospital to see him. That single visit sparks something new (not really new) between them, though, and now a kiss has opened up a new side to their friendship. But is it simply something casual, to be enjoyed til it ends? Or will the forever playboy realize he and Amy want the same thing?
Knox and Amy are a sweet friends to lovers couple. I have to admit I didn't really see their friendship as being that strong, couldn't get a strong connection with that aspect. But the way they evolved to more is where their story kept me reading. Knox didn't waste a lot of time denying feelings changing, if anything, he was the one who fell first. He was down sooo bad that I'm surprised Amy couldn't see that's where they were at. The Sterling Brothers have fallen in love in entertaining fashion, and I'm glad the perma bachelor Knox finally figured out what had been in front of him for so long. Finn's up next in Sinful Kisses, and I can't wait!

Layla Hagen has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Reckless Kisses! It is the fifth book in her The Sterling Brothers series; Reckless Kisses is a wonderful friends to lovers love story. I was hooked from the first few pages, and I loved every moment on every page of Reckless Kisses it was impossible to put down. Layla Hagen definitely did not disappoint her readers with Reckless Kisses and has once again delivered an incredible story filled with everything that I love in sizzling romance stories. I have discovered that whatever Layla Hagen writes, I will love to read. Reckless Kisses was one of my favorite books that I have read recently. Who does not love hot sexy men, who make you swoon, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another, and wonderful characters? Reckless Kisses is the love story of Knox Sterling, co-owner and board member of Sterling Investments with his brothers, a successful brokerage and financial services company, as well as his own software company and his best friend Amy, a high school teacher at a K-12 school. Amy and Knox had been best friends in college, but never crossed the line to being more than friends. Amy and Knox have not seen much each other recently, until Amy shows up to help Knox’s father move in with his mother. A short time later, Amy shows up at the hospital when Knox was involved in a car accident. Amy discloses to Knox that she wants to find the one, that she and a teacher at her school Agnes, have decided join a dating app. Amy wants the husband, the children, and the white picket fence. Knox is a playboy and does not want any of those things. After Knox’s release from the hospital, he and Amy start spending more time together. Knox agree to talk to the seniors at Amy’s school. Things change between Amy and Knox as they continue spend time together, especially following the charity event. Conversation between Amy and Knox flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Knox constantly flirting and dirty talking to Amy. Knox joins Amy as a chaperone on a school camping trip, but everything changes when Amy is bitten by a snake, a severe storm blows in, and there is only one room at the bed and breakfast. The heart-to-heart conversations that take place in Reckless Kisses are one of my favorite parts of the book, the ones that they each have with their mothers, and how Amy shares the plans that she has for helping her students. I love how Amy shares her lunch everyday with Lisa, an elementary student. I love Amy and Knox’s love story, and all the plot twists and surprises that changes things for Knox and Amy, their relationship, and how things quickly heat up. Their relationship is put to the test with the plot twist, but I love everything that Knox does to resolve it. I love everything that Knox does for Amy, and her students, and how he is always supporting her and complimenting her. Knox and Amy are willing to make changes in their lives to have a life with one another, because of their love for one another. I love the chat stream between Amy and Knox and Knox and his brothers, it is one of my favorite parts of the story. I love the perfect ending of Amy and Knox’s love story, with my favorite part of the story Knox’s proposal to Amy, where it takes place, and Amy’s student, Lisa’s role in the engagement. My favorite part is the engagement party that was planned afterwards. Layla Hagen always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. Not sure how she does it, but Layla Hagen has once again given her readers another amazing book. She has once again proven that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be one of my favorite authors to read. I really enjoy how she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love knowing what the main characters are thinking and feeling. Reckless Kisses is filled with all those elements that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments and the plot twists and surprises that filled this page turner. I really enjoy all the moments that make me laugh. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in Reckless Kisses. I love Amy and Knox’s story and the descriptions of the California settings, the characters, and the family dynamic in Reckless Kisses, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Sterling brothers; it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love Amy’s relationship with Hannah, Riley, Phoebe, and Kinley, and how the Sterlings embrace Amy. I loved catching up with the other Sterling couples. Another favorite part is how the ending hints at the identity of the next Sterling couple. I highly recommend this sizzling romance. I cannot wait to read the final Sterling brothers’ book. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.

It is always a pleasure listening to these superbly talented voice artists perform, a performance that has you hooked while taking the already fabulous story to another level.

ALC/ARC Review
One of my favorite tropes is friends-to-more and Knox (MMC) and Amy (MFC) did not disappoint!
Knox and Amy have been friends for a long time but haven’t really “seen” each other in a while but then there’s the accident and of course Amy is going to rush to him and things evolve from there. I say of course because you know that saying that goes something like “it doesn’t matter if you “see” your friend every year or every ten years, if they are true, you’ll see them when it counts”. I think that sentiment (however it goes) is truer as we get older. People move thru life and changes happen, but true friendships never sever. No matter where you are in life, a true friend will always find you when you need them most or when scary things happen. Knox’s accident was that scary thing and Amy came running. And so it goes from there …
I was thoroughly entertained by Reckless Kisses from the very beginning and 🎤Stella Hunter & JF Harding🎤 were an absolute dream team as Amy & Knox! So much so that I didn’t want to pause my audio, so I didn’t! LOL I listened thru my commute to work, my workday and my commute home and was done before I knew it. The entertainment factor in this story was top notch and Stella & JF made it even better! I don’t really have the “words” to describe the feeling of a story when it is narrated by the perfect narrators but it happened with this story. I’ll be putting this audio in the re-listen collum because of it! Well done to both of them!
This is one of those stories that just flows thru the lives of two people with very little outside forces to overly dramatize the story or to segue way away from the romance journey. Which, coincidentally, is my very #happyplace when it comes to romance fiction. Sometimes, I just want to read a story of two people that journey to a HEA. That’s it. LOL Well, Layla Hagen delivered! That’s not to say that there were no hiccups or twists along the way, because there were, but they moved the story and relationship forward rather than dramatize it. Feel me?
I did more of a listen rather than read with this story but how could I not with Stella & JF at the helm? However, even though I don’t know the exact feeling the story would provoke in me had I read it, I do know the story is very good so either way you enjoy your stories, you will be very happy with Reckless Kisses!

5 He’s Not Going to Let Her Ago Stars!
This is the fifth book in this series and I loved being back in San Diego. This is my favorite from this series and I LOVED it so, so much!
Knox Sterling is a man of action and once he gets over himself and his preconceived thoughts about never getting married and having children AND realizing that Amy is the person who he needs he’s going to do everything he can to get her to be on the same page as him… and they have a ton of fun in the process!
One of the best things about a friends-to-lovers book is the innate comfortableness with each other even if it’s while they finally give in to the feelings they’ve held inside for so many years. These two are combustible and I needed to turn my fan up a notch LOL.
Even though Knox knew what his end game was, there are moments that I truly wanted to have a stern conversation with him. Thankfully his brothers did it for me LOL. This family is so involved in each other’s lives, and this just enriches the story for me. I’m a huge fan of this family and any time I can be in their midst I’ve got a huge smile on my face.
I was lucky enough to read this listen to this book and Stella Hunter and JF Harding are exceptional at bringing each and every scene to life. They made the steamy moments hotter, family meetings funnier and Knox and Amy’s love story everything I was looking forward to!

There is just something about Layla Hagen’s writing that instantly hooks me, and Reckless Kisses was no exception. This was such a fun, enthralling, and fairly low-angst friends-to-lovers read. It delivers on every level—packed with heartwarming moments, great spice, fun, and endless charm.
Knox is absolute book boyfriend material. He starts out as a player, but a wake-up call car accident forces him to reflect on his life—especially his relationship with his college best friend, Amy.
Knox has always carried feelings for Amy, and when they finally cross that line, he is not letting go. Does he make the occasional mistake? Yes. But I loved that his mum was right there to put him straight!
The Sterling family is brand new to me, but Layla's writing made me feel like I was visiting old friends. The family dynamics are beautifully woven into the plot.
J.T. Harding and Stella Hunter did a fantastic job bringing Knox and Amy to life. The audiobook is incredibly easy and engaging to listen to. The only reason it’s a 4.5 and not a perfect 5 is that, occasionally, I felt like I missed a tiny bit of the story's spark just by listening to the audio version rather than reading it on the page.
Still, it absolutely delivered on every level. I’ve already downloaded a couple of the other books in the series! 🙌

The only reason it’s a 4.5 and not a perfect 5 is that, occasionally, I felt like I missed a tiny bit of the story's spark just by listening to the audio version rather than reading it on the page.
Still, it absolutely delivered on every level. I’ve already downloaded a couple of the other books in the series! 🙌

I'm a huge fan of friends-to-lovers romance, and this story delivered everything I was hoping for. Knox and Amy have known each other since college, but neither has wanted to risk crossing that line. The chemistry, history, and connection between them made their journey feel so authentic and satisfying. Amy was such a fantastic heroine. She's strong, confident, knows exactly what she wants, and isn't afraid to go after it. I loved her determination and the way she challenged Knox when he needed it most. One of my favourite things about this series is how it explores the impact of the Sterling parents' marriage breakdown on each brother. Knox's vulnerabilities really shine through in this book, and it felt so fitting that the person meant for him had been by his side all along. As always, I loved spending time with this family. The Sterling brothers' bond is one of my favourite parts of the series, and the uncle moments with Jeremy completely melted my heart.

I really loved this series and was looking forward to Knox's story. It didn't disappoint. All the other brothers are paired up, but Knox and Finn, and they both swear they will be eternal bachelors. Oh how the mighty will fall. Famous last words. Knox and Amy have been best friends since college. They have never crossed the line. Knox gets into a car crash and has a concussion, so the hospital keeps him over night. The entire family comes to check on him, and so does Amy. Amy stays a little longer and Knox starts noticing things about Amy, that he's refused to let him self notice for years.
Her beautiful hair, her shapely body. He's confused about his feelings and tries to shut them down. Amy keeps saying that Knox is sexy, and he questions her about it. "You think I'm sexy", she replies with "Knox, you know you are." Amy wants the soulmate and three kids, Knox wants to have friends with benefits. The question is, will they get what they want. You really need to read this book! It's original, funny, and romantic. This family is a must read! The entire series is the bomb!!!!! Great Job Layla Hagen! Another one hit out the park!

I have enjoyed all of the "Sterling" stories out so far, so it only made sense to enjoy this one. Knox Sterling is co-owner and board member of Sterling Investments with his brothers, a successful brokerage and financial services company, as well as his own software company.
His best friend Amy (who he met in college) is now a high school teacher. Their relationship has stayed platonic until an accident brings them back into eachother's space, and it was very entertaing to see them shift from friends to lovers. Along the way, there are twists and turns that kept the pages flipping, and I really enjoyed my time with Knox and Amy.
This isn't a fast steamy attraction IMO, but an enjoyable journey to their HEA. Ultimately, they find themselves in a forced proximity situation where their chemistry cannot be denied.
This has all the banter, family dynamics and fun situations we've come to love about this author's creativity and I highly recommend this story and series.
It is best enjoyed in order to avoid spoilers and have the best experience with the characters. Can't wait for more!

this one just didn't fully work for me, i never quite believed knox and amy had been best friends for years because their chemistry felt a little awkward, and i struggled to connect with them as a couple. i did love knox's softer side and how devoted he was to his family but overall, it was an enjoyable enough read, but i just wanted a stronger emotional connection between the main characters.

Amy want the house, white picked fence and 3 kids! She's on the hunt to find her dream man and getting involved with Knox is against her better judgment but the man is impossible to resist and soon they're spending every minute together. But can he change his mind about his future or will he let her go?
This part had seriously pissed me off. What do you mean she can go out with another man??? The urge to hop into a book to slap someone was never this strong, I tell you :)

I love a good friend to lover’s story. Knox and Amy fit that! There was always the chemistry, but Amy wanted more and Knox didn’t and they felt the friendship was worth more than anything. They always say if it is a true friend, it doesn’t matter you fall back into step like it was yesterday and they sure did except they also felt more and they were finding it harder to not cross the line. I love how Layla has a way with pitting strong women with strong men, yet they seem to find the soft side of each other but can hold the other up if necessary. The banter between Knox and Amy is one of the best parts and of course the brothers because they see the writing on the wall before Knox admits it. There are of course the fun times and humor but also the drama. This author is able to bring them all together. You will not be disappointed in this book although a stand-alone I highly recommend starting at the beginning because the brothers are in every book and you learn their ways.

Knox is such a flirt. He’s very charismatic. Easygoing, sexy. I can’t imagine how Amy resisted his charms for all those years.
I really liked this friends to lovers story. It was very believable. Both characters had expressed attraction toward the other many times over the years but felt the friendship was more important. Or their expectations didn’t mesh. Didn’t want to ruin a good thing. Then, it was just time. Knox wasn’t ready to realize what Amy really meant to him.
It still took Knox awhile to realize how much he cared for Amy. It made a great story to see him begin to realize what he wanted. A couple of angsty moments and then lots of swooning when he really turned on the charm.
Great story. Love everything Layla Hagen. If you enjoyed this series, you’ll love her other books too. Definitely recommend this author to any romance fan.

Reckless Kisses is book five in the Sterling Brothers series. This book is light, sweet, and easy to get through. The story follows Knox Sterling, a rich guy who acts like he has everything figured out, and Amy, his best friend, who clearly means more to him than he wants to admit. I liked that their romance already had history behind it instead of feeling random or rushed.
The friends-to-lovers part was the best thing about the book for me. Knox takes a while to admit how he feels, and while the story is a little predictable, it still works as a cute comfort read. The writing is simple, the romance is sweet, and the family moments make the story feel warmer.

Gahhh Amy and Knox were so stinking sweet, I couldn't get enough of them. This was an interesting dynamic with both of them wanting each other, but never crossing that friendzone line because they both wanted very different things in life. Amy was heck bent on wanting marriage and kids and everything that comes with that level of commitment, where as Knox "wanted" (quotes because that man was D E L U S I O N A L and a touch of a broken boy) the eternal bachelor life. But watching them overcome those differences with a touch of semi-forced proximity and possibly a mind altering concussion, was so much fun.
The audio was fantastic. JF Harding and Stella Hunter were phenomenal in this one, they really embodied these characters and made this such a great listen. Thank you so much to Must Love Audio for the advanced copy!

Knox and Amy have been close friends since college, secretly harbouring mutual attraction while avoiding crossing the line so they would not ruin their friendship.
I have to admit, I did not buy these two as good friends, I just couldn't see the history between them, they were a little awkward with each other and almost felt like strangers.
Knox was a charming hero, and it was so lovely seeing how tender he was with Amy and how much he loved spending time with his family.

4.5…When these brothers fall, they fall hard…and I’m loving everything about each book! This is book five and it’s time for Knox to find his happily ever after. These successful brothers do not disappoint on the charm department. Knox loves his family and friends, but will a car accident change the way he looks at things…especially his college friend Amy. Amy is a teacher and enjoys her friendship with Knox…but doesn’t realize how close they truly have become…because this boy is smitten. This is a fun layered read with a great story being told. A story about family, friendship and everything in between. These two have fun banter and perfect chemistry. I am really enjoying this series and this amazing family. I have truly enjoyed getting to know each character…bring on the next book!!
