Blood Moon Inheritance: Second Chance, Fated Mates Shifter Romance

After six years of silence, he’s back at my door with devastating news. My father is dead. My pack needs an alpha.

And the one man I swore I was done with? He’s my fated mate and the beta I have to implicitly trust if I choose to claim my pack.

Beckett Wren is all quiet control and broad shoulders and six years of things he never said.

During the fateful night that broke my heart, he didn’t choose the pack over me, although he let me think that.

He chose my safety over his desire, knowing he would lose me, but needing to protect me anyway.

Now I’m back on Dawnmore land—my land—with a rival challenging me for power, a traitor feeding our secrets to the enemy, and a mate bond that won’t be ignored.

As the Blood Moon approaches, the land pulls at a truth I was not meant to uncover.

I know I can claim the alpha title, fight off my rival, and expose the traitor.

What I can’t figure out is how to keep pretending I’m finished with the man who never stopped protecting me.

Review of advance copy received from Author

“Blood Moon Inheritance” by Sunny Briar

This story is a compelling mix of romance, power struggles, and destiny with satisfying emotional depth. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest takeaway from the story.

Reva, a wolf shifter veterinarian, is pulled back home after years away. Her unresolved mate bond with Beckett adds emotional tension and second-chance angst.

Pack politics, leadership challenges, and the looming blood moon raise the stakes beautifully. The reference to animals at her vet clinic add some appreciated lighthearted humor to the story.

Did Not Finish

This book and I did not mesh. The writing style is too formal for both characters for me and it just dragged on. By the third day of reading it, I was actually dreading it because there doesn't actually seem to be much connection between the characters and the author was obsessed with telling us that they're located in the Pacific Northwest and spending more time describing the Washington grass and trees (I grew up there, the PNW isn't nearly as romantic as she tries to make it sound) than her characters' relationship so I decided it was best to call it a day.

Unfortunately i didn’t enjoy this one as much as previous books that I’ve read by Sunny.

I’m not saying it was written badly but I think because there was a lot of pack politics & not much action happening it just wasn’t for me so it’s more about my preference rather than how the book is. I also did get a little overwhelmed with how much both mc’s ,especially Reva ,would go over the past and their feelings- sometimes it felt like filler pages or going over the same thing again.
