How to turn me off of an H in two words...describe him as looking like...Justin Bieber.
And enough with the goody-two-shoes for college h's. Honestly, out of all the chicks you knew in college, how many were the TSTL goody-girl that seem to permeate the NA College trope market?
I don't like this trend of "if you're not together it's ok to fuck around on the somebody you like". The roommate of the h tells her she had no right to be mad at the H because they weren't together when he fucks an OW. Yet he's already admitted to the roommate he has feelings for the h. Now I know the h is being difficult. But WTF? Where's the girl code in this? Where's the fucking outrage from the roommate that he couldn't keep his dick in his pants for one FUCKING WEEK?
Nowhere, bitches, nowhere.
The roommate TOTALLY TAKES HIS SIDE. What in the actual fuck?!?
And then these h's just roll over and forgive. When can we get one that makes the H crawl...just for a minute?
I don't know. This whole book made me grumpy. I didn't like the way the h's friends treated her. I didn't like the shit her family pulled at Christmas over the dead friend's party. I didn't really even like the h...but by the time I was done, I felt fucking sorry for her.
What a load of fucked up, with a sprinkling of obnoxiously overbearing well-meaning family and friends, this chick had in her business. They go behind her back, pretty much lie about it, and give her a cold shoulder to teach her a lesson about pushing people away...oh, the fucking irony. They all demand to know her secrets while keeping a fuck ton of their own and refuse to divulge theirs after forcing her to tell them hers.
What-the-fuck-ever.
And her roommate is the worst at this double standard. I wanted to strangle her the most. She does to the h their second semester what the h did to her their first semester...not communicate. All I remember of the roommate is all the bitchy attitude and going behind the h's back and then not being honest about the shit going on in her own life. Some fucking friend.
As crazy as the h was, every single person in this novel manipulated her to do what they wanted, when and how they wanted it...I felt sorry for her.
82% before the H/h FINALLY get it on...and fade to fucking black.
Then 90% a lap dance from the skank he cheated on her with....cuz he was always gonna hurt her, he warned her.
In the end, this was just one hot mess.

This was a NA contemporary romance story, with a bit of mystery.
Brennan and Owen were both hiding things from each other and both had things that they were trying to work through, they both made some mistakes also though, and the course of their relationship didn’t run smoothly.
The storyline in this was about the romance, and we also got storylines about the things that the two main characters were hiding from each other. The romance seemed to go from Brennan hating Owen to loving him really fast though, and then we got this really long drawn out rubbish about them only being friends! Owen also made some really rubbish decisions romance wise as well, because getting a lap dance from some skanky girl is a great way to show that you love someone.
The mystery angle was okay, although for me it took way too long for us to actually find anything out, which made the book drag a bit.
The ending to this was fairly happy, it just seemed to take forever to get there.

Reviewing for Kylie’s Fiction Addiction
I received and Arc for a honest review.
This One’s For You is an emotionally charged story that, it’s a New Adult which is one of my favourite genres. It’s written beautifully, so beautifully that you feel the sadness and love in every single line of the book. The characters and supporting characters are everything and so much more, it’s simply a beautiful book. Brandy Jellum certainly knows how to pull you in and make it as if you’re living the story right along with the characters.
This book has some moments that make you gasp and then think. It’s one of those books that when you’re finished, you can’t stop thinking about it. So, would I recommend this book? Definitely.

I was given an arc of this book for my honest review.
If you know me, you know I have enough unread books on my Kindle that I could read 2 a week for 2 years (maybe more)... and never read the same one twice. BUT when Brandy contacted me at my blog and said she had written a New Adult book and gave me the synopsis... I couldn't say no. Seriously, she had me a 'New Adult'.
You have Brennan and Owen, who are college students. They both have secrets that make them keep everyone at arm's length in order to keep them from hurting anyone else.... or themselves. They quite literally 'bump' into each other in the dorms, before school starts, only to find out their rooms are right across the hall from each other. Tension is on the rise as these two try to avoid the inevitable.
"Promise me that no matter what, we'll always find our way back to each other."
I love New Adult books. Some may argue that it's all feelings and very little action. But, that's what I love about it. The angst. The butterflies. The yelling at my Kindle 'KISS HER ALREADY!!!'. It's all about the build up wrapped around a well written story with a great message.
I absolutely loved 'This One's For You'. There are a few messages in here that just make me love this even more. I could see myself having my daughter read this in a few years.
The story flowed and there wasn't any unneeded filler in the story. Everything written had a purpose. I loved how the pace of the story increased as Brennan and Owen got closer. And I loved Brennan's overprotective brothers. I could see them having their own books in the future.

Starting this book, I wasn't the biggest fan of either main character. From the blurb you could see there were going to be some major problems with the romance that lies ahead and there was.

Brennan is a freshman in college. Coming off of the biggest tragedy of her life, she has made a promise to her best friend to let her freshman year be the best it can be. Not to lose her heart to some dumb boy, to get out there and have some fun. So she does. Well, at least at first she does then she runs into Owen.
Right off the bat Owen is a manwhore that I wouldn't have given a second look to. I think that's what turned me off in the story. The only thing redeeming about him is when he saved Brennan's roommate Mia. Otherwise I thought he came across as a pompous ass flaunting Felicity in front of Brennan.
The story of the manwhore and the innocent is a hard one to pull off and I wasn't feeling it with this one. Brennan came across as too immature in the "relationship" while Owen was hiding something the entire time. Everybody around them knew what Owen's deal was except for Brennan and she seemed to be fine not knowing. She seemed to be fine with a lot of stuff he did and when she wasn't, she stormed off like a little kid. Zero communication between them.
Brennan's brothers seemed interesting and I wouldn't mind learning more about them. The book is well written and told straight from the heart, which I learned from the acknowledgements, which also makes me feel a little guilty for not liking it more.

When I read the blurb for This One’s For You I thought how interesting it was and knew I needed to read it to see how it played out.
The chemistry between these two characters was sweet, hot and passionate, yet they refused to give in until each one was ready for the other and that just killed me!! It was funny seeing how tongue tied Brennan was every time she ran into Owen, and he made sure to take full advantage of it. Amelia, Bren's roommate, really added to the story and she's one true friend everyone would love to have in their life!
One thing was for sure, trying to figure out why Bren made that promise to Reagan was like a puzzle, and the same went for Owen's secret. I will say this, when the puzzle was complete and all their secrets outed, it touched my heart because it was so realistic!
No story is complete without some drama and boy, did this one have it! So will Owen and Bren be able to keep their promises or will they fail those they made promises to? Can they give themselves to each other without reservations and secrets between them or will that keep them apart? You have to one-click and read for yourself. ~ Kara, 4.5 stars

I liked Brennan girl knew how to shut up her brothers and shock her man, “holy crap !” I shouted, cutting Damon off. “Not that it’s anyone’s business but I’m still a virgin for crying out loud.” Both my brothers’ faces looked like tomatoes —very large, bright red tomatoes. I glanced over at Owen, his eyes were wide in shock." I loved the carefree person Brennan was with Owen, I loved how those two were together, "Owen’s stomach rumbled. We chuckled. “All right, let’s go get something in that bottomless pit of yours.” I enjoyed this book.

I had such high hopes for this book, I really did, but it felt flat… :( .The concept is really good and this is something that I really liked, the fact that our main character is dealing – though not very well – with the death of a person that meant more to her than anything else. I really appreciated how the book doesn’t gloss over the hard stuff, and reading about Brennan’s panic attacks and hesitations broke my heart.
The writing was ok, but this book ran too long. In all honesty it needed a good trim, because it was way too repetitive. Other thing that bothered me a bit was the typos, the missing words and the wrong verbal tenses in some places. It’s something that I can overlook in ARCs quite often, if the writing is pulling me enough into the book, but that just wasn’t the case here :(.
Another negative for me ended up being some of the characters. Actually, I didn’t love either one of them, except for maybe Brenn’s brothers. Brennan herself was an OK MC, but she got under my skin. I understood her mood swings, given that it was part of her inability to deal with her trauma, but I couldn’t relate to her. Also, her clinging to that promise annoyed me to no end, maybe because I felt that the promise itself was a bit of nonsense.
Surprisingly I kind of liked Owen, though he was a bit hot and cold too. I did understand his reticence at first, and I loved reading about his fears of giving in to the relationship, what I didn’t quite get was his actions towards the end of the book… moving on…
I just want to say something, because I’m kind of sick of reading this in books. Why is it that guys who are casual about sex are viewed as douchebags in books? I don’t get it! What is so wrong with that behaviour, if they’re not hurting anyone in the process or making false promises?
I need to talk about Amelia (Brenn’s roommate), because seriously, what even?! I liked her at the beginning, but then, oh boy, no no no. First she – pardon my french – cockblocks Brenn and Owen like 100 times! WTF girl?! WHY? Then, after giving Brenn grief for not opening up, she decides to lie to her friend for THE WHOLE TIME THEY KNOW EACH OTHER! And why, you may ask? Well, that’s a good question, because I reached the freaking end of the book and I still don’t have any idea as to why. Worse! Everyone else knew! This is also true about Owen’s past, everyone surrounding Brenn knows all about his past, except for her. And I mean EVERYONE, including at least one of her brothers. I mean, come on people… really?
The romance itself was part of the redeeming qualities of the book, when Brennan was not freaking out over not keeping her promise to her dead BFF, she and Owen were happy and beyond cute together. Also, he said the most romantic stuff… I enjoyed those parts.
One thing that really put a damp on my enjoyment of this book was how judgmental Brennan came of at the beginning of this book. Slut shaming is never ok. And not only does she do it, but she also says not very nice things about people who decide to engage in threesomes. I mean, it’s a personal thing, but calling the girls who are into it “sluts” and saying that the guy who does it clearly has no respect for women… I mean… why? What? Why?
I’m rambling now. Ultimately I think this book needed seriously editing. It’s way to extensive and the pace is way too slow at times. The characters show some growth, but that doesn’t make them that more appealing. Some situations are quite bad, and I felt that most didn’t have a proper resolution.

Brennan is just starting her college experience at the University of Oregon. With a fun and exuberant roommate, as well as a cute guy across the hall, Brennan should be having the time of her life. The loss of her best friend 10 months before has left Brennan unable to move forward, jeopardizing her ability to make new connections and lasting friendships. As she continuously pushes away those closest to her, will Brennan be able to break the self destructive cycle before it is too late?
There is something about the main characters Owen and Brennan that are worth getting to know. Although Brennan's character development is complete, not the same can be said for Owen. The author never explains why he refuses to go home and gives only a passing reference to the incident which changed him forever. I like Brennan's brothers and think that the author should explore their characters further, perhaps in a book or books dedicated to them. Brennan's failings and reactions seem genuine and realistic, as I can only imagine how hard it must be to move forward with your life when part of you has been ripped away. The plot was well paced and made This One's For You a quick read. Those who like realistic fiction with a romance component will enjoy this book.

I like Brennan's brothers and think that the author should explore their characters further, perhaps in a book or books dedicated to them. Brennan's failings and reactions seem genuine and realistic, as I can only imagine how hard it must be to move forward with your life when part of you has been ripped away. The plot was well paced and made This One's For You a quick read. Those who like realistic fiction with a romance component will enjoy this book.

I couldn't wait to start reading This Ones For You by Brandy Jellum as i really enjoy reading her books.
Brennan Daniel's starts a new college where she knows no one and only memories of her best friend as Reagan tragically died 10 months beforehand, before she died Reagan made Brennan promise that no matter what she stays away from boys, dating and falling in love and to hold out for that one man worth keeping.
This is Owen's entrance into the plot, Owen is not the best choice at all as he's the biggest man whore walking, he warns Brennan to stay away but the chemistry/pull they share can't be ignored, can Brennan learn to enjoy her life the way it should be? Or will she stick to the plan she promised on with Reagan?
I've read all of Brandy's books but this one unfortunately fell a little to short for me in terms with i didn't connect with the two main characters and personally for me this is what keeps me reading a book, the plot was good and the book is well written it was just the characters i couldn't fully connect with.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley.
At the beginning, I found this story a little bit slow. There are a lot of hints about Brennan and Owen's pasts but we don't know anything for sure until the middle of the book. Or even just at the end, in Owen's case. And their friend Amelia is interrupting them all the time. Ok, once or twice is funny but I found this a little annoying, honestly.
As the story goes on, it gets much better. The fact that the writer also lived through some of these events, makes the book more real and emotive.
But...Justin Bieber....seriously?why???

I received this free eARC novel from the author and NetGalley. This is my honest review.
So I thought this book was okay. I got a lot of Beautiful Disaster vibes from it, especially when they said their relationship was a disaster. I really just wish they would have talked to each other more and dropped hiding their fears and insecurities from each other. If they had talked, a lot of their problems could have been fixed. Or at least they would have been aware about everything they were up against instead of acting blind.
I get why both Owen and Brennan acted the way they did and that they were protecting themselves, but hiding from each other and then jumping back into each other's arms within a blink of an eye really jerks the reader into whiplash.
Also the relationship with Amelia was kinda messed up. Amelia got mad because Brennan wouldn't tell her the dark secret (which she already knew about!!!!!) But then wouldn't tell Brennan about her secret or who she was seeing... that's not really a true friendship in my opinion.
Over this was an okay novel. I'm glad I finally got around to reading it!

What I loved the most about this book is the humor. It’s a good book with strong characters who have an interesting story and develop from the first to the last page. I loved the action, because it doesn’t let you hanging and waiting for something to happen, but, most of all, it's very fun to read.
Brennan and Owen both have their pasts, but when Amelia and Callen come into their lives, everything becomes lighter and funnier. Brennon is the first traitor in her family, the first one who decides that Washington University isn’t for her. In Oregon she can live without her parents or her three big brothers to protect her, and this is what she needs to get away from the loss and the guilt that keeps hunting her. Her roommate, Amelia, is a crazy, easy going friend who can make her smile and enjoy college life, but being Amelia’s friend means betraying her best friend.
On the other hand, Owen is the last thing she needs or should want. He is sex on two legs with his Bieber hair, but his attitude is a huge problem. A manwhore with no respect for himself and the women he brings in his bad. He is bad news. But he also seems to be everywhere Brennon goes and the sexual tension is hard to ignore. Both have secrets and both try to run from their pasts. Being friends isn’t an option no matter how hard they try and the all hot-cold attitude is pissing Brennon off. Being together is a risk but is it a risk worth taking with all the secrets in the way? Together they can either be a complete disaster or a recipe for happily ever after.
But this isn’t just a love story, it's also a tale of college life. It’s about being young, parties, new friends and responsibilities. Because all actions have consequences and thinking that bad things cannot happen to you isn’t a great idea. Brennon, Owen, Amelia and Callen made mistakes because they were young. For some of them it turned out to be for the best, for others their choices were filled with guilt. But for all of them there comes a day when the sun rises again.
While reading This one’s for you, I’ve learned a lot about forgiving. Forgiving someone else isn’t that hard, but forgiving yourself is a lot harder and without it you cannot move on. Guild keeps you in one place, it doesn’t let you move forward. Until the moment when you begin to realize that maybe you have to cut yourself some slack. That’s why This one's for you is a must read, because it combines the humor with the hard life lessons, and the smiles with the tears.
This one’s for you is the perfect book for a beautiful summer day and I’ve spent a few great hours in its company, it just made my day brighter.

This one’s for you by Brandy Jellum
Reading this book has made me think about my senior quote for the yearbook which was a quote from Pope John Paul II. The quote was, “The worse prison is a closed heart.” I chose such a quote because I figured going into adulthood wasn’t going to be an easy journey and that when life gets hard, keep your heart open to those who love you that the journey should not be traveled alone. To slam the door and shut people out is a loneliness that no one should ever subject themselves to especially one as young as our main character, Brennan.
Brennan lost her best friend in a tragic accident that left Brennan closed off from everyone no matter how much everyone tries to be there for her. I admit that Brennan may have annoyed me with the extent of how hard she pushed others away throughout the book but I was impressed with how much she changed as the story progressed. That she allowed herself to truly grieve the loss on top of being able to break her silence on what happened. Being there through her journey to recovery was a treat in itself.
The real turning point I enjoyed was when Brennan went home for Christmas with Owen in tow. It was hilarious on so many levels when Brennan’s three older brothers gave Owen a hard time, what with older brothers being protective of their little sister. It was a good thing that Owen was a good sport about it. Christmas was really when both Brennan and Owen finally let their walls down to give their relationship a try which was a huge relief because half the book was pretty much a hot and cold dance with the two.
All in all, I felt this was one of Brandy’s more serious and personal novels. For those going through a bad loss or unable to let people in, this book is a comforting balm to your soul. This book tugs on the heartstrings as everyone is fighting their own battles in the book yet find love and comfort with each other. This book has a lot of secrets that come out in the end as well as much needed closure for Brennan’s loss. This is the chicken soup for the grieving soul and one I would recommend everyone to read.

I absolutely loved this. I was immediately sucked into Brennan's world and loved basically every minute.
That said, a few critiques (that kept this from being 5 stars):
- There were quite a few typos and jumbled words throughout the entire book. It was distracting, though I realize I received an ARC, so I hope they have all been corrected since.
- The drama at the end (at about 95%) was quite unnecessary. The story was quite enjoyable as it was and I felt that the reveals (both Brennan's and Owen's... and Amelia's, for that matter) were more than sufficient amounts of "drama." Everything from the confrontation at the party on seemed very forced and a bit unbelievable.
- I also would have liked to have had a bit more day to day after everyone returns from Christmas. Much of this felt rushed and I had so enjoyed all of the moments up to it that it had me missing them at this point.
- The bit with the brothers the first few days of Christmas break was, I think, over-the-top. I found myself annoyed with them multiple times.
- Last criticism would be that there was an awful lot of hair being pushed back behind the ears.
Aside from those, relatively minor, issues, this was absolutely a wonderful read. The characters were well-written, the dialogue felt very natural, and there was a great mix of emotions... lots of humor, lots of touching scenes... The build up of sexual tension felt just right. When I think about it, even many of my criticisms can be forgiven because some of them likely helped me get into Brennan's mindset that much more and feel what she was feeling.

When I saw this one on offer, I knew I had to read it as I had quite enjoyed the author's other series and one of my favourite genres is the Edgy New Adult novels, especially ones that are set in College dorms. Possibly this could be because in New Zealand, the college experience isn't as amazing as the American one and I have always wondered what it would have been like to attend a college in America. In This One's For You , we meet Brennan who we learn that over the summer before College she lost her best friend Rae and we know that their was an accident but not sure who caused it, but we can tell that Brennan blames herself for it. The other thing is that Brennan chose to go to a college where nobody knows her past and she hasn't driven since the "accident". Just before college, Brennan and her friend made a pact not to date any guys their first year of college and Brennan plans to keep the pact - that is until she meets Owen who has the room opposite her. She can't help but feel attracted to him, even though he has this "stay away from me, I'm bad for you " vibe. Yep, he is one of those damaged souls that sleeps around and can't keep a relationship due to a bad past incident which resulted in someone close to him dying. The pair obviously both damaged and feeling broken were destined to eventually end up together and that is the romantic angle of This One's For You - the rest of course is just like any formulaic new adult fiction where you know that their will be a "push away" moment and eventually Brennan and Owen will get their HEA.
This One's For You by Brandy Jellum is the type of book that we can read if we A) don't want to think about much , B) if you love New adult college romances and C) you want a HEA for the broken and damaged couple.

Wow, where do I begin.....When I signed up to read and review this ARC, I kind of expected it to have so sad moments throughout the book and thought that it would be a story of young love. It is all of these things and SO MUCH MORE. The story line is so well told that I actually felt at times that I was living it! I felt like it was a friend or family member that was the h. This story is written with so much love and so much emotion that you just feel it in every chapter and in every paragraph. The characters of the story are strong and are so easy to relate too. And it's not just the main characters in the book that are like this, it's the supporting characters also. Ms. Jellum does such an amazing job building the story line and bringing to life each and every character that is a part of this story that it feels like your living it not reading it! It has been awhile since I've read a book that could make me actually feel the words that I was reading. It's a very bittersweet story and a story that gives you hope and leaves you with a sense of peace. It makes you think, and not just the kind of thinking that we do every day. It's true soul-searching. This isn't just a story of fun and steamy sex and living the life of a college kid and partying, letting go. This is a story that delivers a message, a very important message. So when your reading it, listen, listen really hard. Open up your heart and use it to listen, because it is really important and if you hear it, I promise it will be a message you don't forget. Congratulations Ms. Jellum, you wrote a hell of a message. Thank you, it's been an honor to read your book.

I was intrigued with the blurbs when I saw This One's For You by Brandy Jellum, and decided to read it. I love the sound of Owen, the mysterious guy across the hall. Brennan was dealing with the loss of her best friend, Reagan. They made a promise for college—no boys, no dating and no falling in love. And Brennan intended to keep her promise until she met Owen Scott across the hall.
I love how the story started. It was exciting to see how Brennan started college and how she was going to survive it with new friends, class and everything. The characters were fun. Owen was such a playboy. But he can be nice and quirky. I immediately fell in love with Brennan and her relationship with her brothers and her new roommate, Amelia.
Brandy Jellum writing was easy to get into and it flows nicely. I enjoyed reading her style, but not so much with so many dramas between Brennan and Owen of the story. I wished Brennan talk a lot more about Reagan, since they are best friend. And I definitely wanted to see more of Brennan, Amelia and their friendship. This was a really great book. Brennan Daniels goes to Oregon for college when she and her family are from Washington state. She decided she wanted to be a little further away from her family and people that know her and her past. On move in day she runs into Owen Scott and there is an instant connection between them but neither is ready for that.

Definitely worth reading.

This is my first book by Brandy and I was impressed. This book was an emotional read and you can tell that from the acknowledgments, that this story was near and dear to the author's heart.
Brennan is a freshman in college and she is coming off a huge tragedy that has happened to her. Before losing her best friend, she had made a promise to her that she will not give her heart away to a dumb boy, but to go out and have fun while in college. That was before she met Owen. Owen kind of irritated me and seemed like a jerk when he would flaunt Felicity around in front of Brennan. He sort of changed my perspective as the story progressed and I didn't full out hate him at the end. Owen has been hiding a secret from her, but she seems okay with not knowing what it is. How? I don't know and that was something that kind of bugged me, too. I was very interested in learning more about Brennan's brothers, and hope that they kind of have their own spin off stories.
Although I didn't really like this story as it kind of drug on for me and I didn't feel the connection between Brennan and Owen, I would love to read Brandy's other books and hope to see Brennan's brothers in a story soon!

Brennan has just started college she had a nice roommate - and a cute boy across the hall - Owen. Her best friend Reagan had died and Brennan promised her she would be good while in college. Brennan’s having problems moving on and letting people in. But Brennan definitely has chemistry for Owen. Everyone tells her to stay away from Owen and even Owen himself and he really is everything she shouldn’t want or get involved with. Brennan herself is having problems with mood swings. Owen is definitely a player and could very well break brennan’s heart. Brennan had protective parents and older brothers that were protective and she wanted a fresh start if possible and that is why she picked an out of state college. She had a roommate Amelia aa fun and easy going friend but Brennan felt as though she was betraying Reagan and the friendship they had before her death. Both Brennan and Owen had secrets they are keeping to themselves.
This was a pretty good story and I did enjoy it but felt it was a little long. I liked the characters and I liked the twists and turns Owen and Brennan went through. I recommend.

The blurb on this one caught my attention, and I was super excited to read! Unfortunately, this ended up being only 3 stars for me. Let me start off with what I really enjoyed about this book. The story line was great. Brennan is a freshman in college who has suffered through a horrible tragedy. She owes it to her best friend to make the most of her college years. Brennan promised her best friend Reagan that she would find a guy worth keeping. She ends up meeting Owen who is a total man whore and not who Reagan would want her to end up with. Owen is cocky, funny, and I loved that about him. Where the story fell flat for me was Brennan's character and the interaction between Brennan and Owen. They just didn't connect for me. I felt that their relationship was forced and didn't really flow well.
Will I read anything by Brandy Jellum again? I will because I think she's a good writer with great ideas, the characters in this book just fell flat for me.

This One’s For You by Brandy Jellum was a great book. This is a chick lit type book and I really enjoyed reading it. I really liked Brennan and I think the author did a great job of making all the characters seem like they could be real people. I also love that she based some of the characters on her life best friend. I love books where the author puts bits and pieces of people they know in their stories because it makes the entire book seem more real at least to me. The author does a great job of making you feel like you are back in college and you also are able to understand what is going on and why the characters do what they do. I love Brennan’s older brother who dropped her off at college because that is how older brothers act and it made me smile. If you love chick lit or are just looking for a fun read than I would recommend this book to you.

Where do I even begin? This book is a book that speaks to us more than you know. When you lose a very close friend, you tend to lose a piece of yourself with them. You try to live for the both of you, and end up becoming closed off from everyone that loves you. This book is a book that goes through the emotions and the stages that you would normally go through. But, that is just one portion of this book. The main story in this book is Brennan struggle to live for herself and find her own happiness and her own way without her best friend.
I have read Brandy's books before, and I can guarantee that I am going to continue to read her books. She is an amazing author that really knows how to hit all of the emotions. This One's for You is a beautiful book that is about love and understanding. I encourage you to read this book. You will not regret it at all.

I really wanted to like this one more, but it was so repetitive going around and around and around. Brennan felt drawn to Owen but she promised her bf not to date her entire freshman year. She uses this as her excuse through almost the whole book. She wants him/hates him/wants him/hates him. It just got annoying. Brennan just seemed so immature and naive to me. Owen has a big secret too and she just seems to think it's no big deal. Everyone around her knows what is bit won't tell her and she's ok with that. Her roommate is also the biggest hypocrite because she hates that Brennan won't open up to her but then she goes and sites the same exact thing. The thing I liked the most about this book were Brennan's brothers. I could definitely read a book about them. They were funny and protective of her which I loved. This one just fell flat for me.

I find this book to be extremely frustrating, long and repetitive.

Owen: he had warned Brennan from the very beginning that he would mess things up and you guessed it he did.
The back and forth between these two were very frustrating, she was so closed off and fought letting anyone in ( male or female) and Owen would run away for days and revert back to his old ways when things got rough but in all fairness she jerked him around as much as he did her.
I found myself exhausted by the end (and the drama continued to almost the very end) and I didn't seem to care whether they made it or not. Glad to had reached THE END.
