What if the next law wasn’t about freedom…but about making your faith a crime?

Emerson Riley has fought hard to rebuild her life in Serenity Creek. Years of rejection left her guarded and jaded, but a new job as a legislative aide at the state capitol offers a fresh start. She believes hard work and determination are all she needs—until she uncovers a sinister conspiracy.

In this continuation of the Stillwater Saga, the shadowy Oasis Group, backed by demonic forces and ruthless operatives, seeks to pass legislation that would make Christianity illegal. When Emerson discovers the truth, she becomes a target.

As the bill nears passage and the enemy closes in, Emerson faces her greatest test: will she cling to self-reliance, or cry out to a God she has long rejected?

When spiritual warfare turns explosive, one woman's surrender could ignite revival—or cost her everything.

In this pulse-pounding story of betrayal, faith, and redemption, will Serenity Creek rise… or fall into darkness?

Serenity Creek is the third book in an inter-connected series, but can also be read as a stand alone without feeling like you’re missing information. I read the other two books first, and it was fun getting the extra little nuggets of understanding, so I recommend it!
Similar to my review of Stillwater (the 1st book) I loved the spiritual warfare aspect and the story it gave to the angels and demons along with the story of the humans.
This was a very exciting plot that had me hooked from the beginning.
I loved that we start out with the FMC on the wrong side of things, and getting her insights into the “bad guys” being the Christians was just a great twist on a normal good vs. evil story.
The protective MMC was wonderful and I loved how passionate and caring he was with the FMC.
I also enjoyed that even though you could be switching back and forth between the angels’ convo and the humans, I never felt confused by who was talking. All the characters definitely had their own voices. Loved it!

I received an early copy from the author and voluntarily leave a review with my own opinions.

Light versus darkness. Angelic hosts versus demons. Are you a fan of supernatural Christian fiction? Do you enjoy Peretti, Alcorn, and Dekker? If you said yes, Serenity Creek is for you!

Serenity Creek is based on the Oasis Group, a group we met in Stillwater & Lown Lake, introducing legislation which would make Christianity illegal. Like the first two books in the trilogy, Serenity Creek is not for the faint of heart. Spiritual warfare is interwoven into the plot. Not only do we see the main characters’ points of view, we also see the angel warriors point of view. Just as in Stillwater & Lown Lake, Serenity Creek will build your faith. The faith elements are incredible and make the story even more powerful. Serenity Creek includes a strong redemption arc and an enemies to more plot. Trust me when I say you need this book and the whole trilogy!

I received an ARC copy for an honest review, and I absolutely LOVED this book and honestly cannot recommend it enough.

“There is always a way, and when the moment is right, you’ll find it.”

“Being human is exhausting. No wonder they need us.”

“There is no scenario in any version of reality where I wouldn’t come find you.

TWO DAYS!! That's all it took for me to devour this book. I had some moments where I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book, but it was definitely worth the read. I haven't read many books that deal with spiritual warfare. I remember reading This Present Darkness way back when and being creeped out for days with just the idea of another realm where things were happening that I couldn't see. I'm older now and know our fight is more than we can see and this little gem did a great job of painting a picture of what it might look like if we were allowed to see behind the curtain. This is my first time reading Heather's work, but I will be going to get the first two books in the series now. Highly recommend. She does give a disclaimer/warning that the issues she covers in this book are not easy and after reading it, I really appreciate that disclaimer. I am always on the lookout for authors that I can recommend to my female cadets and I will be adding her name. Don't wait - download the series and read!

I love how this book touches on the subjects that seem to be on this "No touchy list."

I don't even know how to word this review to say how amazing this book is. If I could just sit down across from you and tell you about this book how it made me cry, laugh and want to go to war in the spirit. How the characters felt so real, that I could almost feel their struggles. That it literally still is making me think about it when most books I forget what I even read once I finish the book. How I want to erase it from my memory just so I could reread it for the first time.

I can hardly wait to share this with my family and friends. I'm going to be bugging them to go order it so we can talk about it.
I tip my hat to Author Heather, what an amazing book and thank you for being brave enough to write about the supernatural realms and the battles waging there on our behalf.

Serenity Creek by Heather Thompson

4 ½ stars

Rated 18+ per the author due to the nature and grittiness of the content

This is the third book in the Stillwater Series, however you can read it without the others (although, I’ll be going back to read the first two now!).

A mix of political intrigue, spiritual warfare, and a hint of romance, this one kept me turning the pages well into the night. I kept stopping and to tell my husband that he needs to read this one as it is relevant to what is going on in our world today.

This one also really made me think about what goes on in the spiritual realm to battle for not only our souls, but our circumstances as well. I enjoyed how Heather made the angels not only powerful but also brought humor between them.

Thank you Heather for allowing me to be part of the ARC team. This review includes my honest opinions and thoughts.

This book was amazing! It follows a girl named Emerson as she is struggling to justify a bill being passed about making Christianity illegal. Through out the book she encounters those who are evil and are involved with demonic forces and she encounters those who are lead by the spirit of God. This story is very beautiful and will make you think back to your salvation and it can help you learn that trusting in God doesn’t always have to make sense but it is required to live by faith.

"You're safe now."

This book exceeded my expectations! From the first page until the last, I couldn't put it down. I finished it in one sitting. I am so glad I ARC read it because I don't think I would've been able to wait for it to release!

The characters, the plot, the story. It's perfect! They were all relatable and the problems were very present and had me worried if everything was going to be solved in time.

If you're looking for a book with no-spice, spiritual warfare, and political intrigue, this is the book for you! Be sure to read the first two before this amazing one releases!
