Journee Scott didn’t come home to fall in love—she came home to grieve.
Losing her grandmother left her with a pharmacy to run and a heart that won’t settle. But one New Year’s party and one familiar face change everything.
Sirius Glenn—her cousin’s best friend, the one who used to make her blush—is a father now, a barber with grown-man energy and eyes that still see right through her.
What starts as comfort turns into connection. What’s supposed to be casual turns into everything.
Over twelve months, they’ll fight it, feel it, and finally face it—because some love stories don’t start with forever… they start with need.
Dealing with grief and trying to move on with life as if everything is everything is a tough pill to swallow but then you add in a man that wants nothing more than to be your everything when you don’t know if you’re coming or going. I Loved that Everyone one knew it was more but the one who’s life was in turmoil. A quick read like this that was full of love and understanding allowing the FMC to breath while processing was sweet. Baby the way these could not keep their hands off of each other all while still trying to hold on to feelings and stands!!!
This story had me invested in Journee and Sirius from the synopsis. Journee had been navigating life with her Nana G and trying to overcome the hurt and betrayal inflicted upon her by her boyfriend Taylor and her ex best friend. At a party thrown by her cousin she sees her long time crush Sirius and although she’s guarded they give it a go. Sirius always loved Journee even after she went away to school. Sirius had some growing to do and he really does it bc he wants to not only wants to be apart of Journee’s life he wants to prove he can earn her heart. Sirius is a great dad to his son Saint, I love his relationship with Saint and Milan despite her trying to get Journee on her side of the rainbow. Nicole is a great friend to Journee their friendship is refreshing to witness. Jamal is a mess lol he’s a great cousin all the way around tho. Journee and Sirius take us on a wild ride in a year that’s definitely one for the books. They go through their ups and downs however in the end they get their happily ever after. You did your damn thang boo 😊❤️💪🏾
Keyy ok now It wasn't as nasty as I thought it would be but good first run. I loved Sirius he knew just what to do. Journee made me want to take her in the corner. I'm glad she finally found her peace. I get it sometimes once you get hurt your scared to love, trust or try anything. She just had to understand. I did enjoy the freedom though that they had. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Both couldn't get enough of each other I'm glad she finally stopped running let him love you... But I wish would spent more on there feelings but this was supposed to Erotica
This book didn't do it for me. I get the whole loving and healing through the season's, but some of the story didn't make sense, or add up, or made me think like WTH was that? So I did rate it a 4⭐ for the uniqueness and some character development.
Me and Journee was about to fight because girllllll lol. I love when the guy falls first/been wanting her since they were younger. This was such a cute read.
