I've never been much of a poetry reader, but Thomas Zampino has been converting me over the years. I have a copy of all his compilations - *Dancing Lessons* is his fourth - and I'm amazed at how he packs so much depth and expression in so few words. The turns of phrases, the unexpected word combinations, the keen observations and questions - "Do we dare stand our ground as time and eternity pass over us?" (from "Rocks in a River") - Thomas' poems are a mirror to our mortality, to the passing of time, to the thrill of love, to the things that matter most.
*Dancing Lessons* takes us onto this dance floor called Life, and teaches us new steps to familiar tunes that are played in unfamiliar rhythms.
Thomas has a great gift, and the world is richer for it.
