This is my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed it! I loved the characters and their chemistry is so good!
I also love how the author describes everything, even the little details. It made it so easy for me to imagine the scenes. I really liked the writing style…it felt natural and was easy to read. And the spice? 🔥🔥🔥🌶️🌶️🌶️
Overall, such a fun read! I can’t wait for Book 2!

Absolute five stars! Romantasy lovers, you NEED to check out this book.
What would you do if you found yourself magically transported into one of your fantasy books, to a realm with fae, witches, and magic? This is the position that 29-year old Elle Rowan, a nurse, finds herself in. In this realm beyond her own, Elle encounters a broody fae male, and is quickly swept up in tension between courts, broken magic, and a looming threat unlike anything she has ever experienced.
The pacing in this book is excellent. While you can see the Elle's life has become monotonous, it gets right to the action and grips you quickly. From there, it does not let go! Elle is a charming protagonist with bravery and humor that you root for the entire time. The world itself is wonderfully built, striking that perfect balance between being intricately and uniquely developed without being too much and difficult to follow. And the romance! The spice is well-written and the chemistry between the characters is excellent.
Overall, C.M. Maelstrom has written an exciting, gripping, and wonderfully romantic start to a fantasy romance series that I cannot wait to dive further into. If you like fantasy romance with characters that have emotional depth and a plot filled with political intrigue and epic romance, you absolutely need to give this book a read!

An exciting new world to explore
1st time author C. M. Maelstrom has created a wonderful new world in the fantasy genre. The world building is rich and detailed. The characters are fully realized, and the story had me hooked in the first couple of pages.
The novel is extremely well written And excellently proofread. That's important to me, as Mistakes have a tendency to take me out of the world I'm reading about. If you enjoy spicy time in your fantasy, then this book is definitely for you! Be patient, the characters have to come to the realization that their hot for each other, but when they do, whoa, Nelly!
I look forward to the next book in the ethereum bound series. Highly recommend.

I really liked the way Elle’s story starts so ordinarily. She’s a 29 year old nurse stuck in the monotony of everyday life, and then one estate sale completely changes everything. I’m always a sucker for a normal life suddenly isn’t normal anymore setup, and this one pulled me in.
The transition into the magical realm was probably what interested me most. Elle goes from dealing with regular life to navigating divided courts, broken magic, enemies, prophecies and a man she absolutely cannot seem to stay away from. That is A LOT to process. I also liked that the romance isn’t the only thing happening. There are secrets and political intrigue surrounding Elle and the more she discovers, the more she has to question what she thought she knew about herself.
The forbidden desire angle definitely adds some spice, but I’m most curious about where Elle’s connection to this world and her own destiny will take her next. A fun start to what feels like a much bigger fantasy romance story.

This book had two strikes against it before I even started the book and here I am giving it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ star review. I would give more stars if that were an option.
I normally do not read books written in third person because I am unable to form a connection with the characters. Fantasy is not my go to genre. I do not love chapters of world building. If you are the same I implore you to give this book a chance! You will not regret it!
C.M. Maelstrom did such an excellent job building her characters and the storyline that the world building was interwoven into the story without me even noticing. I did not want to put this book down from page 1. There is so much action and so many emotions the real world just dropped away and I lived in the book. And there are UNICORNS(vaelorn)!
The ending of this book ripped my heart out. I can not wait for Book 2.

A promising start to a new fantasy series. *When the Rowan Blooms* offers an intriguing world, memorable characters, and a story that slowly unfolds with mystery and magic. The atmosphere was immersive, and I’m curious to see where the journey goes next in the series.
