Let Love Flow

Rate this book
Adulthood came faster than Nyomi Kurrie ever imagined when she found out she was pregnant during her second semester of college. Thankfully, with her family's support, she was able to fulfill her obligations on the track and field team and graduate on time and with honors.

Now, the son she gave birth to over eighteen years ago is preparing to leave the nest. For the first time since he was born, she can stop neglecting herself. When her best friend talks her into going to a mixer for singles, she has a night she won’t soon forget.

Kilo St. Patrick has lived and breathed football since elementary school. It was no surprise to anyone when he accepted the head coach position at his college alma mater.

He packs up and moves across the country, and in an effort to refamiliarize himself with the city, he attends a singles mixer and unknowingly connects with another Black Elm alumnus.

It’s supposed to be one-and-done, but when their paths cross again two months later, under circumstances neither of them expects, Kilo can’t ignore the pull Nyomi has on him, and she’s running like the track star she once was.

Kilo is persistent in his pursuit of Nyomi. Will she let love flow or keep running?

Come on now!! 🥰 I knew from the very first few sentences that Nyomi was going to be a force! She was strong, focused, and motivated, to make the best of her circumstance for herself, and her son, Nyeem. With Nyeem getting ready to leave the nest, she is receiving pressure from everyone to get out there and live her life. Yeah, I guess. Nyomi is not feeling men, at all. 🙄

She agrees to go with her best friend Skye to a singles mixer. However, the night before that she sees a man in a restaurant, and he immediately catches her eye. Let the fun begin.

Kilo is that dude! Bold, smart, intentional, and exudes BDE! 🤩 When he lays eyes on Nyomi, the chase had already begun before he could gather his thoughts. Well, he was going to need those running shoes cause sis Nyomi was a runner for sure! 🤣 I loved Kilo’s pursuit of Nyomi. He didn’t give a damn about what she said, or how many times she gave him her ass to kiss! He was still coming strong! ❤️ She talked that talk, but she was feeling Kilo as well, and it was only a matter of time.

Ma’am, that damn sperm donor was already trash, but to continue to show out like that???😤 Ughh… just throw him away!! 🤬 Enjoyed this!

Yes, yes and yes!

That is correct, you will miss a great story if you miss this one. Nyomi met Kilo, the two had a heated exchange, and they later discovered Kilo was the coach for the team Nyomi's son was being recruited to play on. And the extra stuff with the deadbeat Dad was the annoying side of the saga. Ambrose needed to be handled not so delicately. A good visit from karma was much needed. I liked Kilo in the way he showed love for Nyomi and her nearly college bound son. It's a great story.

This is just a book that is going to be one of my new comforts reads! Klio knew he wanted Nyomi and didn't stop until he got her! I know Skye and Knox has a book, but I would love to get a book about Nyeem and his journey through college.

THE PERFECT ENDING

NYOMI GAVE NEW MEANING TO THE STATEMENT “SHE’S A RUNNER SHE’S A TRACK STAR”🙄🤣🤣🤣. SHE TRULY GAVE KILO A RUN FOR HIS MONEY. BUT KILO PLAYED NO GAMES ABOUT HER OR HER SON NYEEM. HE KNEW FROM THE MOMENT HE LAID EYES ON HER THAT SHE WAS IT FOR HIM, AND ALTHOUGH IN SOCIETIES EYES THEY WENT ABOUT EVERYTHING BACKWARDS, IT WORKED FOR THEM.

HER SONS SPERM DONOR REALLY TRIED AT EVERY ANGLE TO DIMINISH HER & HER SONS LIGHT ALL BECAUSE HE HATED THAT THEY THRIVED IN LIFE DESPITE HOW HE DID THEM. THAT AZZ WHOOPING KILO GAVE HIM WAS LONG OVERDUE👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽.

I LOVED THAT KILO AND NYEEM HAD THEIR OWN RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE OF HIM BEING HIS COACH AND THE MAN WHO’S DATING HIS MOM. THE WAY NYOMI LOVED HER SON🥹. THEY HAD AN AMAZING SUPPORT SYSTEM. SKYE, KILO AND KNOX KEPT ME LAUGHING WITH THEIR SHENANIGANS 🤦🏽‍♀️

This was a fun, feel-good story. Kilo and Nyomi had instant chemistry and spent one very unforgettable night together. After that, Kilo was clear about what he wanted: her. He was not playing about Nyomi!

Their relationship moved quickly and was a bit unconventional, but it worked. I really enjoyed Nyomi’s relationship with her son and how he recognized all she sacrificed as a single mom. The supporting cast (her best friend and both of their families) added a nice layer of warmth to the story.

The drama with the ex was unexpected and added some tension, though his downfall felt a bit anticlimactic. Still, I’m glad he got at least some of what he deserved.

Overall, this was an easy, enjoyable sports romance…low angst, mature and likable characters, and a story that flowed well.

Single mom of a son about to leave the nest gets convinced to go to a singles mixer with her bestfriend. This is where she gets introduced to Kilo. That night he put that girl through the mattress. Unfortunately the next day Nyomi became a track star lol. They didn’t see each other again until months later where she finds out he’s her son’s football coach. Nyomi fought tooth and nail to leave Kilo in the background but he was he was not having that. Once Nyomi finally stopped running, falling in love was inevitable. I enjoyed reading this. I loved the relationship between Nyomi and her Nyeem. There was just enough drama to keep you invested. I would recommend.

Eye contact. A smile. Single’s mixer. Chemistry. A pull. The sexual tension. A hotel room. Y’all the best sex either had ever had. Then she leaves him in the hotel room.

Two months later, that one night stand is back and you decide you ain’t coming up off her. Heavy pursing. Steamy ass sex. A feeling no one could deny. A bitter irrelevant ex. Her running. Him chasing. Beautiful family dynamics. And all the damn feels from beginning to end. Mrs. Shanee doesn’t disappoint. Kilo and Nyomi gave me everything in their story. WHEW!!! This was such a feel good story.

Kilo was truly a man, and I loved how honest and upfront he was about his feelings and intentions even when Nyomi was being difficult and assuming things. Nyomi herself was a track star, and she really didn't want to give Kilo a chance because of her own past hurts. He pushed through her hesitancy, and they became something special. Him putting her ex on his head was simply the cherry on top of an already good story.

This was a beautiful, quick, love story.
I loved Nyomi and Kilo!!! That man said she was it and meant it. After failed relationships and heartbreak, Nyomi got the love she deserved. Nyeem was such a respectable young man because I would've definitely boxed Ambrose out. Such a waste of space.

A Love That Flowed Naturally ❤️

Nyomi and Kilo’s love most definitely flowed beautifully. After being pushed away by her ex when she revealed she was pregnant, Nyomi had to navigate single motherhood while continuing her education and staying committed to track. Thankfully, she had the support of her family and her best friend to help her along the way. 💪🏽👩🏾👦🏾🎓

And then there was Kilo—what a man, what a man! 😍 He came into the picture with no baggage, ready to give Nyomi the love and support she deserved. What started as a one-night stand for her turned into a lifelong connection. ❤️

Kilo even managed to recruit her son for football—even though he was already focused on running track! 🏈🏃🏾‍♂️‍➡️Over time, he earned Nyomi’s trust, proving that he was truly there for the long haul. Eventually, the two built a life together filled with love, support, and family. 💕✨

Such an enjoyable read! 📚💞

Cues Toni Braxton’s *Let it Flow*

Beautiful, feel good, story of a single mom Nyomi, not necessarily looking for love but not opposed to it either. For so long it’s been her and her son but she happens to by chance see Kilo and he’s captivated by her beauty, and they soon find out fate plays a major part in their destiny. She by nature and literally was a runner to avoid being hurt. He assures her he’s a good man and nothing like her past and is persistent in his pursuit. The past rears its ugly head and is met with the truth and a man determined to protect this rare jewel of a woman he’s met. He proves himself to her family and more importantly her son that he will do whatever to protect her and her heart. She decides to take a chance on him and sees that love can win when you let go and let it flow. It was beautifully written and has a beautiful black history moment added too. 10/10

Oo, Kilo was that man. Persistent, protective, and patient! He was razor focused on Nyomi and didn't let her slip away. The universe connected them back together.

Nyomi was that bad a$$ sister who made life work for her circumstances. She didn't falter when the deck was stacked against her. She did what any sister and mother should do, persevere. I loved that her son came first and their positive relationship. Nyeem only wanted to see his mother happy.

Nyomi and Kilo were good together. She put up a fight to guard her heart, but it melted towards him.

That ex of hers was just trash. I see that his jealous side came out, why I don't understand. He missed out on a great relationship with his biological son. Too bad! However, Kilo put an end to how he thought that he was gonna treat Nyomi.

I loved both sets of parents, their siblings, and bestie Sky.

Baby listen… I love me some Kilo and Knox BAD 😩🔥 And after finishing Let Love Flow, I already know I cannot WAIT to read more about Knox because that man right there? Yeah… he’s about to have me in a chokehold.

This story was the perfect mix of sweet, drama, and just enough tension to keep you locked in from start to finish. Nyomi absolutely deserved her happiness. Being a single mother while still trying to chase your dreams is not easy at all, and I loved seeing her finally get her moment. Watching her push through, stay strong, and still open herself up to love made her character even more relatable and lovable. Seeing things fall into place for her just felt right.

Now Ward… whew. That man had me HOT. He was a straight up dick, and honestly, it was frustrating watching him be bitter and mad because the son he walked out on turned out to be a better man than him. Like sir… that’s YOUR doing. The jealousy, the attitude, the unnecessary drama he was definitely one of those characters you love to hate.

And can we talk about the parents? Because they were hilarious. Their interactions added such a fun and lighthearted layer to the story, and I loved that they ended up getting along. It made the family dynamic feel warm and complete.

This was definitely an instalove, but it worked. The pacing was quick, the chemistry was there, and the story never felt rushed in a bad way. It was a fast read but still packed with emotion, humor, and just enough drama to keep you fully invested.

Overall, Let Love Flow was a quick, good read that had me locked in from beginning to end. Between Kilo, Knox, Nyomi finally getting her happiness, and the family dynamics, this one was definitely a 5-star read for me. And now I’m just sitting here patiently waiting for more Knox because I already know his story is about to be EVERYTHING. 😮‍🔥📚

🥰

This was sweet and exactly what I needed! I absolutely loved how Kilo came through for Nyomi. Nyeem was the sweetest son ever and such an adult about everything. That Ambrose needed to crawl under a rock because he was useless. In fact that was the only part of this story that I felt could have gone differently. Him coming into the picture and not treating Nyeem right had me annoyed. I was expecting him to want to be in his life and did the work to at least start a relationship or maybe Nyeem could have told him how he felt about him and got his feelings out about his dad being a deadbeat to him but had a whole other family. The book was definitely good tho. I’ve e read several books by this author and this isn’t the last one.

Kilo and Nyomi

Kilo and Nyomi meet at a single’s event and spend the night together. She leaves without them exchanging contact info much to his disappointment. They meet again when he shows up at her house to recruit her son for his football team. Ironically, he the new head coach for the local university. Kilo is excited he ran into Nyomi again but she’s reluctant. Her son decides to play football for Kilo and also learns that his new coach is dating his mom. Things are going well until Nyeem’s deadbeat dad causes problems.

This was a beautiful love story. I enjoyed it because Nyomi is a successful woman in her thirties who finds love now that her son is going to college. I also loved that Kilo wasn’t playing games.

Let It Flow

Let flow baby, let it flow in my Toni Braxton voice.

As always, Kay Shanee brings it. I haven't read a book that she has written that hasn't been good from start to finish.

I love Kilo and Nyomi together. Ny had been holding it down for eighteen years with her son Nyeem. She was a great mom, sister, and bestie. Locking eyes with Kilo was icing, and as they say the rest is history. I also loved the mother/son relationship between Nyomi and Nyeem. She raised an amazing young man.

Too bad his sperm donor was stupid, but I digress. Anyway, this is a fantastic read and a great book to add to your library.

Sweet, Cheesy, and Impossible to Put Down

Let Love Flow is definitely one of those cheesy love stories, but honestly, that’s part of what made it so enjoyable. The storyline leans into predictable romance tropes, but it still pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages. I finished it in less than 24 hours, which says a lot about how engaging it was.
While it may not be the most complex or groundbreaking read, it delivers exactly what you expect: drama, romance, and that feel-good (and sometimes eye-roll-worthy) energy. If you're in the mood for something light, fast-paced, and easy to get lost in, this is a solid pick.

Yes.....The K's & N's✨️✨️🔥❤️

Yes...Nyomi was a track star. I loved the bond she had with her son. I loved her village. Nyeem was a young intellectual man. He had whom he needed in his life. That other man was not a thought. Kilo and Nyomi had a beautiful relationship. It was their path. I love the brothers.Knox and Kilo are funny. Love their parents. The way the grandparents bonded it is nothing but good times✨️✨️. Having twins and starting their new journey is chef kiss. Now I need Skye to stop playing with Knox.😊. This was such a good read. I didn't want it to end. ✨️✨️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥

Track star

Nyomi wasn't about to get caught up with any man, but when she sees Kilo she lets her guard down just a tad...but she's still wearing her track shoes. Kilo wears her down and makes it impossible for her to run. These two were just my speed and I loved how well there families meshed and how Kilo and Nyeem had this bond almost instantly. He was such a mature young man who only wanted love for his mom. Ambrose was petty and jealous and he got what he deserved! Pick this up, you won't be disappointed. Happy Reading Y'all!💋

Tropes:
- He falls first
- One night stand
- pregnancy
- single mom

My first book by Kay Shanee and I really enjoyed it!
Nyomi was the definition of she’s a runner, she’s a tracker star. (IYKYK) but Kilo was persistent and intentional with BDE. Their story was cute with a bit of drama. What I really like the most about it was how Nyomi raised her son. He was definitely a good kid and was wise beyond his ears. Every scene was hugging at my heart! Love that for them.

There is nothing better than being respected by a child you raised alone and he succeed because of who you were and what your village helped you provide. Nyomi, was a great mother and it showed. I loved her drive and honesty. She did not let her past define her future. Add in Kilo and him being mesmerized by the vision of her.

This book was amazing and I can't say more because it would be spoilers.

Let Love Flow

She’s a runner, she’s a track star or whatever that song said. Nyomi was a true runner and was determined to find any reason to run from Kilo, but he wasn’t having it and wasn’t scared to chase her and make his intentions known. I loved that he didn’t give up even when she ran and tried to push him away and I loved it even more when Nyomi stopped running and fighting her feelings for Kilo. They truly let love flow and I was here for their union.

What a very sweet romance. Kilo and Nyomi went from one night to forever. Although their love story didn’t follow society’s “norm” it flowed just as it should for them and it was beautiful.

There was minimal drama in their story outside of the deadbeat but what can you expect from a hater. So beautiful to see how Nyeem handled those interactions maturely and was able to discuss his feelings in a healthy way.

Let love flow was a great read. I enjoyed the relationship between Nyomi and her family especially the relationship with her son. Kilo was that dude and he didn’t play when it came to his women. Since the laid eyes on her he was all gas no brakes. I loved that for them even when Nyomi tried to downplay her feeling for him. I was happy when she finally let love flow!

Kilo😍

Kilo knew he wanted Nyomi from the moment he laid eyes on her. He was protective and stood on business even when she tried to run. I loved the relationships they had with their families.
Nyomi was a good mom to Nyeem despite the circumstances and it showed in the way he carried himself and reacted to things.
I hope we get to see how Skye and Knox's situation plays out.

Quick fun read

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a fast paced single mom romance. Son is about to go off to college and mom has a one night stand with the man that turns out to be her son’s football coach. This book is full of spice, a man that yearns for her, protects her, & actively pursues her. Drama from the ex baby daddy makes it more interesting.

Kylo stayed persistent because Nyomi was determined to keep running from. Liked Nyomi become open and going with the flow when it came to her relationship and changes in her life. Ambrose was a sorry excuse. Nyeem’s maturity with everything and Ambrose was refreshing. Looking forward to reading about Skye and Knox.

I love “just enough” drama. I loved Nyomi and Nyeem’s back story, her situation was not ideal but with her village she pulled through. Kilo was not letting up once he got a hold of her. I enjoyed their story.
