I accidentally knocked up my best friend’s little sister… But I’m known to hit-it-and-quit-it — no strings, no promises.
After two tours in Afghanistan, I’ve survived hell. Pressure is nothing. So when it comes to protection, I never miss a shot.
Now I’m head of security at the most corrupt casino in the city.
Then Chloe Callahan walks into my world.
She’s my best friend’s little sister with a target on her back. And she’s under my watch.
Clever as hell. Talks back. Never backs down. Which would be manageable…
If a blackout didn’t lock us in a panic room.
I should’ve kept my hands to myself. Instead, they’ve been getting plenty of practice thinking about her.
I start losing sleep over her laugh, the way she undresses me with her eyes and struts around with just her panties. It didn’t take long for me to have her bent over.
Then it hits me. I know I’d take a bullet for her. And just when I decide I’m done running from love…
She hits me with two words that blow my world apart.

She believes romance should feel like a warm hand on your back — comforting, empowering, and full of possibility. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, dreaming up new characters, or reminding her readers that every chapter (in books and in life) has the power to change everything.
If you’re here for swoony heroes, big feelings, and unforgettable love stories… you’re in the right place.
This book? A full-throttle collision of danger, tension, and oh no they absolutely shouldn’t… but they absolutely will.
Surprise Baby for the Bad Boy by Elle Arden delivers exactly what it promises—and then cranks it up several notches.
Jamie is the kind of MMC who walks into a scene like a storm cloud in boots: quiet, controlled, and one bad decision away from wrecking everything. And Chloe? She’s not just the “best friend’s little sister”—she’s sharp, brave, and way more entangled in danger than anyone realizes.
The chemistry? Immediate. Combustible. The kind that simmers under every glance until that panic room scene hits and suddenly everything ignites. From there, the story doesn’t slow down—it sprints.
What really hooked me: ✨ The forced proximity that actually feels intense, not gimmicky ✨ A protector hero who’s possessive without losing depth ✨ Chloe’s strength—she’s not just being saved, she’s in it ✨ The surprise pregnancy trope done with emotional weight, not just drama ✨ High-stakes suspense that keeps tightening like a vice
And let’s talk about Jamie for a second… this man said “no attachments” and then proceeded to emotionally spiral the second Chloe was in danger. Sir, be serious. The devotion? Elite.
The suspense thread adds real urgency—this isn’t just romance with a sprinkle of danger. It’s danger with romance woven straight through it. Secrets, corruption, and that constant edge of something is about to go very wrong kept me flipping pages like my life depended on it.
And the ending? Satisfying, protective, and wrapped in that “touch her and you’re done” energy we all showed up for.
If you love: 🔥 Forbidden tension that actually hurts 🔥 A grumpy, ex-military man who falls harder than he planned 🔥 Pregnancy trope with real stakes 🔥 Romance + suspense that refuses to sit quietly
Then this book will absolutely own you for a few hours.
Verdict: A gripping, swoony, adrenaline-laced romance that doesn’t just break the rules—it sets them on fire and walks away. 💥
This was a fun and spicy workplace/brother’s-best-friend romance that delivered exactly what its title promises: heat, tension, and a surprise twist that kept me turning pages. Jamie and Chloe have known each other for years—he’s her big brother’s best friend and VERY off-limits—which makes all their stolen looks and secret crush energy feel deliciously forbidden. When they finally give in, the chemistry between them explodes and leads to an unplanned result that really shook things up in a good way ;P.
The intrigue and drama around them—danger, twists, and mystery—kept the story moving at a brisk pace and made it hard to put down. That’s where the book’s strength lies: a juicy, page-turning plot that blends emotional stakes with steamy encounters and keeps you guessing just enough to stay engaged.
That said, not every element clicked for me. I’m definitely not a numbers person and found sections involving logic and “sprint sheets” (whatever those evil things are 😅) tougher to get through. These parts pulled me out of the story more than I’d have liked, and the pacing there felt a bit clunky because of it. I could see readers who enjoy smart, analytical banter or workplace problem-solving appreciating this layer more than I did.
Elle Arden’s writing overall is bold, confident, and delightfully unashamed of the spice level. The playful dialogue and tension between Jamie and Chloe are strengths, though the heavier logical bits might not work for everyone’s tastes.
Verdict: It’s a good time with plenty of heat and surprises, even if a few sections felt tougher to read. If you like bold, dramatic romance with a dash of mystery and don’t mind a little logic challenge along the way, this one’s worth a go—but I’m sticking with 3 stars for my experience.
This book was very good, by way of story; a lot of times it's all sex and nothing else and you're left thinking that it COULD'VE been a great book. Well. This one is a great story. It is a very slow burn, But..... Something KILLED me reading this. The lack of knowing how to COUNT. Let me explain. Ex 1: "You found something, now forget it." The main character states she reads 4 block letters!! FOUR? Then the second character states that it's 7 words? SEVEN??? What the actual heck?!?!! ex 2: Then! Later in the book, it reads: "Cool. I'm here. Come find me - I want to talk to you about something." Again, main character thinks: "4 harmless words" FOUR!?! Is ANYONE Proof reading these? I did like the book. It is a long read, but I didn't mind that, because the story is worth it.
I'm not a numbers person and spreadsheets up they blow my mind. So for me this book was a little deep a little hard to read. But I found to be intriguing, smart and I was trying to figure them out as I read along. As I said I'm not a numbers person and don't do sprint sheets for me were like chatter I couldn't understand. Which made it hard for me to read but I'm If you understand that kind of numbers logic you would really enjoy this book. I'm just glad I stuck it through the ending was really good.
Jamie is Chloe's brother's best friend. He helped her get a job at the casino he works for. As she was going through files she found a lot of missing money. After they began to discover who was behind it all things went south real quick. She was the main target and Jamie had to protect her. Feeling the attraction between the two of them, stuck in a very small room during a blackout, they should've kept it professional but they couldn't fight the attraction any longer. I really lived reading this book. Slow burn, page turning and a great ending.
This was a fun and spicy 'office' romance that's full of intrigue. Jamie and Chloe have known each other for years, as he's her bro's best friend, and they've both been secretly crushing on each other. When they come together, the heat explodes and takes them on quite the journey with unplanned results ;P However, the drama, danger, twists and mystery swirling around them really kept things hopping, making this a page turner for me. Good fun!
I could never really get into this book. I feel like it left a lot of loose ends. It did not say there was a second book so I just felt like it left the reader hanging. The characters are likeable, the writing is good, there is a certain amount of danger but even that is left with a loose end. I am a fast reader and this one took me a bit to get through. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I just finished reading Surprise baby for the bad boy and I enjoyed the entire story from the beginning to end. I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters. It was exciting to see the female main character come into her own away from her brother and father. If you love a slow burn romance mixed with suspense then you need to read this.

It didn’t take long before Jamie and Chloe had me glued to my couch with my kindle. This romance book has some intense moments and is a PHENOMENAL romance book that has a few surprises you will love. I recommend you read this book and make sure you have no interruptions because you won’t want to stop reading this book until you hit the ending.
Thrilling and exciting wonderful story! Once I started reading this book I did not want to put it down. Both characters are well developed and strong and determined. The storyline is gripping and very well written. Loved the action and chemistry. Great ending, can highly recommend this story.
