Hot-headed. Stubborn. Absolutely no impulse control. That's who I am, according to my brothers and business partners. We run one of the top companies in the country, and we're growing fast. When I start interviewing for a key position, my brothers firmly advise me against hiring Kinley. Of course, I hire her anyway, and not just because she's insanely gorgeous.
She's hard-working, ambitious, and a perfect match. Unfortunately, she comes with baggage. Her ex framed her in an infamous corporate scandal. She was cleared in the court, yet the media was unforgiving.
But Kinley isn't the woman the headlines painted. She's not conniving. She's smart. She's not cold. She's careful. And she's not distant. She just won't allow anyone to get too close.
But that's all I want.
Despite my intention to stay away from her, I can't stop fantasizing about kissing her senseless and worshipping her body. Then, when we fly to Napa together to scout a new business, all my good intentions go up in smoke. Spending hours on end with her during the day is too much of a temptation. Sharing the same cabin at night is torture.
I'm tired of pretending I don't want her in my bed, and my life. More than that, I want to protect her from everyone who hurt her. I'll fight like hell not only to make her mine, but to earn her trust. Because once I have Kinley, I intend to keep her forever.
Might be my favorite of this series yet!!! I love a workplace romance and this one starts off with two people who immediately hit it off at an interview but then realize things need to stay professional.
But that might be hard to do when traveling to their newest work venture—a vineyard, and are staying at the same air bnb…and have some run ins 🤭
Tropes: • Workplace romance • boss x employee • forced proximity • he falls first • protective hero (he may or may not punch someone in the face heheh) • forbidden
The more stories I read/listen by Layla Hagen, the more I want to add hours to my day so I can consume all the words I’ve missed in years past! Midnight Kisses was a huge #win for me and the narrating team of 🎤Connor Crais & Angelina Rocca🎤 was outstanding!
One of the things I look forward to the most when I pick up a Layla Hagen story is the cohesiveness of family groups and/or friendship groups she always layers into her stories. There’s always an uplifting comradery among the groups for the MCs and it always warms my heart. It adds a layer of warmth to the stories that I really enjoy. It’s a highlight in this story and I think it made the growth of the story much more poignant and heartfelt. This wasn’t just a romance journey but also a journey “from the ashes” growth for our FMC and I loved how the story unfolded and how incredibly proud I felt about everyone and everything! I honestly felt like I was part of “them” in this “world” while I experienced this story and it just made me happy. It’s the kind of story you sit down to read/listen and will find yourself hours later wondering where the time went! Because honestly, these are the kinds of stories I read romance fiction for, and I am one happy reader/listener because I did!
Another aspect of the story that I enjoyed immensely is the balance that Layla wrote into the storyline on all aspects. It wasn’t overly anything. No dramatics for drama’s sake, just the right amount of sexy and romance, the perfect addition to the world of the Sterling brothers and of course the growth of the characters. The storyline unfolded realistically and all the circumstances felt organic and true to life to me. The entire package was very enjoyable and as I already mentioned, a huge #win!
This is the fourth book in this amazing series, and this is Wyatt and Kinley’s story. Wyatt is the business development manager for his family’s business, and when he is interviewing for a key position within the company, his brothers advise him not to employ Kinley. Kinley has had it tough as she was framed by her ex in an infamous corporate scandal, which she was exonerated from by the law, but it is still held against her. Wyatt employs Kinley and the sparks fly between them. This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, boss / employee, forced proximity, trust, forbidden workplace romance, redemption, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry and love, which leads to an entertaining, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from these talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Absolutely loved this story ❤️. Being blamed for something you didn't do, yet finding out after the fact that your ex was indeed up to no good. This story will renew your faith in human beings and then also show you just how judgemental others can be. Wyatt is a Sterling true and true, the are truly honest and forgiving. Beautifully written and full of drama and standing up to people to protect those you care about. Enjoy, truly a heartwarming story.
Wyatt needs to hire a business development manager for his family company. Out of all the interviewees, Kinley is the best, most qualified, but the scandal associated with her is just too much of a risk for Wyatt and his brothers to even entertain hiring her. And yet, there's something about her that Wyatt can't shake. Even after originally telling her no, even having dinner with her where he becomes even more drawn to her, Wyatt goes with his gut and hires her. But now that they work together, anything more is clearly not going to happen. Or is it?
Kinley is determined to move past the scandal that cost her everything, but it's been almost impossible. No one wants to hire her even though she was found not guilty. And then Wyatt Sterling interviews, and hires her. She wasn't planning on their attraction to get the best of them while working together, but she can't deny how she feels, feelings far stronger than what she had for her ex, the jerk who cost her everything. She doesn't know if she can trust her feelings, trust that it won't all go wrong again. If she can take that leap, she and Wyatt can have the beautiful future Wyatt is offering.
When the Sterlings fall, they fall hard! Wyatt was down bad for Kinley from their first meeting. I love how much he was her champion, her rock when people continued to link her to what her ex had done. And I love that he continually stayed. Kinley was so strong, but fearful, she needed someone to just be there, thank God she found him in Wyatt. The Sterling brothers keep falling, now I'm impatient for Knox's turn next.

Layla Hagen has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Midnight Kisses! It is the fourth book in her The Sterling Brothers series; Midnight Kisses is a wonderful workplace romance love story. I was hooked from the first few pages, and I loved every moment on every page of Midnight Kisses it was impossible to put down. Layla Hagen definitely did not disappoint her readers with Midnight Kisses and has once again delivered an incredible story filled with everything that I love in sizzling romance stories. I have discovered that whatever Layla Hagen writes, I will love to read. Midnight Kisses was one of my favorite books that I have read recently. Who does not love hot sexy men, who make you swoon, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another, and wonderful characters? Midnight Kisses is the love story of Wyatt Sterling, co-owner of Sterling Investments with his brothers, a successful brokerage and financial services company and Kinley McGuire, interviewee for VP of business development for Sterling Investments. Kinley is having a difficult time finding a job because of her involvement in a scandal with her former employer, BuzzPage. After going trial Kinley was found not guilty, but everyone questions her knowledge of the scandal because of her long-term relationship with the former CFO, Mark Donaldson who masterminded the scandal setting Kinley up to take the fall. The recruiting company thought that Kinley was the perfect candidate for the job. Wyatt interviews Kinley knowing that he would not hire her because of the scandal. Kinley was a rockstar during her interview even after hearing Wyatt tell his assistant he probably would not hire her. I love that Kinley discovers that Wyatt has tattoos under his cufflinks. Wyatt’s brothers do not support the idea of Wyatt hiring Kinley because of the concern of the impact on their image. After interviewing other candidates, Wyatt decides to hire Kinley, because she was the best candidate for the job. Kinley will be in charge of the wine and hotel businesses that the Sterlings are branching into. Kinley and Wyatt fly to Napa to tour the vineyard that they purchased. Kinley has great ideas on improvements that can be made to the Napa location. Things change between Kinley and Wyatt as they spend time together in Napa, especially the date that Wyatt arranged at the vineyard. Conversation between Kinley and Wyatt flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Wyatt constantly flirting and dirty talking to Kinley. The heart-to-heart conversations that take place in Midnight Kisses are one of my favorite parts of the book, especially everything that Kinley shares regarding her relationship with Mark. I love Kinley and Wyatt’s love story, and all the plot twists and surprises that changes things for Wyatt and Kinley, their relationship, and how things quickly heat up. Their relationship is put to the test with the plot twist, but I love everything that Wyatt does to resolve it. I love everything that Wyatt does for Kinley and how he is always supporting her and complimenting her. Wyatt and Kinley are willing to make changes in their lives to have a life with one another, because of their love for one another. I love the chat stream between Kinley and Wyatt and Wyatt and his brothers, it is one of my favorite parts of the story. I love the perfect ending of Kinley and Wyatt’s love story, with my favorite part of the story Wyatt’s proposal to Kinley, and the full circle moment of the proposal location. Layla Hagen always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. Not sure how she does it, but Layla Hagen has once again given her readers another amazing book. She has once again proven that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be one of my favorite authors to read. I really enjoy how she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love knowing what the main characters are thinking and feeling. Midnight Kisses is filled with all those elements that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments and the plot twists and surprises that filled this page turner. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in Midnight Kisses. I love Kinley and Wyatt’s story and the descriptions of the California settings, the characters, and the family dynamic in Midnight Kisses, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Sterling brothers; it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love Kinley’s relationship with Hannah and Riley. I loved catching up with the other Sterling couples. Another favorite part is the epilogue the hints at the identity of the next Sterling couple. I highly recommend this sizzling romance. I cannot wait to read the other Sterling brothers’ books. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.
Midnight Kisses The Sterling Brothers Book 4 By: Layla Hagen Narrated by: Connor Crais, Angelina Rocca
Layla Hagen pens another fabulous novel, a steamy workplace romance that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. This fourth book of the “Sterling Brothers” series is Wyatt and Kinley’s story, a story that stands on its own, but those Sterlings are something else, and you can’t help but fall in love with them. Wyatt needs to fill a key position in his and his brothers’ growing company, and the one candidate who meets the criteria he is looking for comes with too much baggage. Kinley had gotten caught up in a scandal at her former job, a newsworthy scandal that led to arrests, but she was a victim wrongly accused and proved innocent in a court of law. Despite being cleared of all charges, the scandal still followed her, and no one wanted to hire her, even in a different field, including Wyatt Sterling. Wyatt liked everything she had to say, and she was definitely the strongest candidate for the job, but even his brothers warned him to steer clear, since her name itself would cast off potential partners and investors. He could not stop thinking of her and went with his gut and hired her. There was an undeniable chemistry between these two, and as much as they tried to fight it off and keep it professional, they could only deny each other for so long. These two were perfect together and for each other, on both personal and business levels. She proved to be a hard worker who got things done, and Wyatt, the solid guy that he was, had her back when she ran into roadblocks and naysayers, which melted my heart. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out with a perfect balance of drama, angst, charm, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. As always, the writing, plot, and world-building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. It was great to see and spend some time with the Sterlings, love the family dynamics and the fabulous camaraderie between them all. Layla Hagen, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Connor Crais and Angelina Rocca were the perfect cast to bring the characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable in every role. Both embodied their characters completely, grasping every aspect of their personalities and demeanor, with Crais nailing it as Wyatt and Rocca as Kinley. They were fantastic performing the roles of all the side/secondary characters too. Their expressive performance conveyed all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These two make a great team, with voices and talent that complement each other and an entertaining performance that captivates your attention and keeps it hooked to the story the entire time.
Finally! I was so looking forward to this next installment. I feel like it’s been a year but I think maybe only 6 months? Possibly less. This was a fun, short and cute read. I’ve lost track of how many Sterling Brothers there are but I think maybe 2-3 are left that don’t have stories yet. This had the longing and sexual tension I like in stories. It tried to be a slow burn but it just wasn’t happening and I’m so happy about that. Wyatt and Kinley just couldn’t keep things professional and I was enjoying how they both didn’t hide it but they weren’t exactly announcing it to anyone. Both were breath of fresh airs to read about, the way they gave into their desires and didn’t deny the attraction. I really felt the chemistry in this one. There were some moments that were just spicy and I was here for it. I haven’t read a book like this in a while so it was really nice. It wasn’t overly sexual but there was no moment where they hardly weren’t at least touching each other. It was also wonderful not to have to analyze anything or dig deeply into meanings. It was easy on the mind and easy on the heart. I wouldn’t call it simple but it was definitely more to the point and about romance. The description of the book gave me a little bit of a different impression though and I’m not sure how I feel about that. It made it seem like Kinley was resisting him and didn’t want to get too close or personal. It made it seem like she was going to hold Wyatt at arm’s length but that wasn’t the case at all and I’m so glad for it but I didn’t appreciate going into this book thinking something else. In fact, she wanted to be close to him and gave into her desires pretty quickly. Her thoughts alone weren’t guarded at all and she immediately felt comfortable with Wyatt. Even though she was still dealing with the fall out of the last company she worked for, she didn’t let it hinder her confidence or ability to trust. Plus, she was ok for the most part talking about it. She just felt it was easier to clear the air and talk about it up front rather than dance around it. She was honest and open about things, which was the total opposite of what the description said. It would have been nice to know what to expect at least but I’m just glad it turned out the way it did. There was no defeated feeling or hesitation with Kinley on anything. Also with Wyatt, and the whole Sterling family. I love how they haven’t been difficult men and just these easy going, happy guys that love their business, family and are not afraid to let love in. This book was a breath of fresh air and I didn’t realize how much I needed this kind of story so a much deserved 5 rating for me. I already have a hint of what the next book will be about. Can we say friends to lovers? With hopefully more information about Knox since he’ll be the next book it seems.
I love Layla Hagen’s Sterling Brothers series. Book 4 did not disappoint. Her writing and storytelling of these two characters were some of the best. The immediate chemistry of these two was triggered at first glance. The tension, the attraction, the intensity was at first meet. Kinsley’s energetic personality to Wyatt calm business approach was all so perfect.
I love, love, love audiobooks! 🎧 You cannot listen to someone reading the story and not feel the emotions. Depending on the narrators and how they perform, you feel that you are in the book with them. Angelina Rocco and Conner Crais performed at their best! These two are amazing!
Conner Crais performed Wyatt’s character with such presence, like he was the actual character. You never had any doubt what Wyatt was feeling or thinking. Conner allowed us to feel every emotion Wyatt felt. His charm but his intensity when needed. The way he interacts with his brothers. The way he stood firm with clients. But yet the soft side of him with Kinsley. Perfection.
Angelina performing Kinsley, held true emotions. I felt every tear, all of the excitement and heart tugging pain her character felt. When Kinsley was trying to prove herself from her past, Angelina’s performance was tender but strong when needed. Angelina gave Kinsley the stubbornness and the gentleness of a woman that had been broken.
These two created a couple with a strong connection. The audio performance kept me up at night not wanting to turn off my tablet. I kept wanting more from these characters. I get so excited when the audiobooks are performed by my favorite narrators. I am not sure how other listeners choose, but I always look at the narrators of the books. The ones that can pull my emotions inside the books. Conner and Angelina had me right there beside them and brought this story alive.
I have to give Layla a few more kudos. The way Layla had a balance of emotions for Kinsley and the protectiveness Wyatt had for Kinsley which you as the reader felt from the very beginning to very end of this book was something I don’t always find. You had my attention from the very beginning. I didn’t lay down my tablet to clear my head, I didn’t want to stop listening. I am always sad when I finish a great book. Today is one of those days. Thank you Layla.
This audiobook was such an amazing listen, and the narration truly made the story even more engaging! 🎧✨
The story itself was filled with tension, emotion, and undeniable chemistry. Kinley is a strong heroine who has been through so much after being wrongly caught in a corporate scandal. Even though she was cleared, the damage to her reputation lingers, which makes her cautious about trusting people. Watching her slowly open up and begin to trust again was such a rewarding journey.
The hero is hot-headed, stubborn, and known for acting on impulse, but beneath that exterior is someone who is deeply loyal and protective. When everyone tells him not to hire Kinley, he ignores the warnings and follows his instincts. As they spend more time together, the connection between them grows stronger,
Angelina Rocca delivered a beautifully layered performance as Kinley. She captured every emotion perfectly—from Kinley’s guarded nature and lingering pain from the past to the quiet strength she carries while trying to rebuild her life. Angelina has such a natural way of bringing vulnerability and depth to her characters, and it really allowed listeners to feel every moment of Kinley’s journey. Her emotional delivery made the character feel authentic and incredibly relatable.
Connor Crais brought the hero to life with so much charisma and intensity. His voice perfectly matched the character’s hot-headed, confident personality while still showing the softer and more protective side that comes out when it comes to Kinley. Connor’s pacing and tone made the emotional moments hit harder while also capturing the tension and passion between the characters.
Together, Angelina and Connor created fantastic chemistry through their performances. Their voices complemented each other so well, making the dialogue feel natural and the romantic tension even more powerful. The emotional scenes felt deeper, the banter felt more playful, and the passionate moments felt even more intense because of their strong narration.
Their performances kept me completely engaged from beginning to end, and they truly brought the story and characters to life in a way that made this audiobook unforgettable. 🎧📚✨
ALC Midnight Kisses is a beautifully written workplace romance filled with chemistry, emotion, and a touch of vulnerability that made this story so easy to fall into. Wyatt is searching for the perfect person to help run a key role in his growing winery and hotel business, and despite interviewing many candidates, Kinley stands out from the very beginning. She’s driven, hardworking, and exactly what the job needs, but her past continues to follow her. Even though she was proven innocent, a corporate scandal still lingers over her reputation, making others hesitant to trust her.
What I loved most was Wyatt’s belief in Kinley. From their very first interview, the attraction is there, but he also sees her talent and determination. Giving her the opportunity, despite the risks, shows the kind of man he is. Protective, supportive, and willing to stand by her when others won’t.
Their business trip to Napa is where everything really starts to shift. Being forced to share close quarters brings their chemistry to the surface, and once that first kiss happens, there’s no denying what’s between them. From there, their connection grows quickly, but it never feels rushed, there’s an emotional depth that makes their relationship feel real and meaningful.
Kinley’s vulnerability was so well written. She’s strong and capable, yet still carries the weight of her past, and I loved how that balance was portrayed. Wyatt’s protectiveness and unwavering support made him such a swoon-worthy hero, especially when challenges arise because of her reputation.
🎧The narration by Connor Crais and Angelina Rocca truly brought this story to life. They captured the emotions, tension, and chemistry between the characters so well, making the listening experience even more enjoyable.
This is a story about trust, second chances, and finding someone who stands by you no matter what. I loved the journey of Wyatt and Kinley and couldn’t get enough of their story
Wyatt is in need of a business development manager for his family business. All the people he interviewed, the only one who is the best qualified is Kinley. But he can't hire her as she was involved a scandal and he doesn’t know if can take the risk.
But the more time he spends with her, he just can't help knowing that she is the best person for the job. So, working together, that means that he needs to put his attraction to the side and focus on work… Right…
Kinley is doing everything she can to move on from her past scandal and trying to be optimistic about finding a new job and moving on. But even though she is innocent doesn’t seem like anyone wants to take a chance on her. Until Wyatt Sterling. After initially saying no, he actually hires her. And even though she is attracted to him, she needs to focus on building a new life. And can she trust her own feelings and trust someone else after what she has been through…
Loved it. I always have a good time when I’m reading a Sterling story. Love that Wyatt proved that all of them are good guys. He didn’t care what anyone said, he was giving Kinley a chance, and he was her number one champion, loved it. I loved Kinley’s personality. She was strong and determined to start a new life and career and loved that Wyatt was the one who gave her a chance. Chemistry was on the spot HOT!!
Audio version was AWESOME! Connor Crais and Angelina Rocca were HOT together. Loved their chemistry and loved their narration. Totally brought these characters to life. Definitely a plus 😊 Loved the characters, loved the story and loved the Sterling clan 😊
⭐⭐⭐⭐ loved it! great chemistry and characters, though a few moments didn’t fully hit. still highly recommend. 🌶️🌶️🌶️: moderate heat, 4 to 6 detailed sex scenes that push beyond vanilla, incorporating light kinks but plot focused.
wyatt is known for his temper and reckless decisions, so when his brothers warn him not to hire kinley, he does it anyway. beneath the scandal that nearly ruined her reputation, he sees a driven, guarded woman who refuses to let anyone get close. working together quickly blurs professional lines as wyatt finds himself drawn to her strength and vulnerability. determined to protect her and prove she can trust him, wyatt risks both business and his heart for a future where kinley is not just by his side, but part of his life for good.
layla never disappoints and wyatt’s story was such a sweet story. i loved the winery setting and how kinsey tried to rebuild her life after everything she went through. wyatt taking a chance on her and slowly proving she could trust again made their relationship feel really genuine, and the chemistry between them was undeniable. the slow burn was worth it, and the strong family presence added so much warmth to the story.
the audiobook was such a great experience. the narrators brought so much emotion and personality to wyatt and kinsey, making their connection feel even more real and swoony. thank you layla and mla.
tropes: workplace romance, boss x employee, no third act breakup, forced proximity, he falls first triggers: damaged reputation, toxic ex
Thanks, Layla Hagen and Must Love Audio for the ALC.
Kinley McGuire is in a pickle. Her name has been forever tied to a corporate scandal she had nothing to do with. Though she's been cleared of any wrongdoings she's become basically unemployable. Until she applies to a position with the Sterling company. She thinks she might have her past overlooked there...
Wyatt Sterling interviews Kinley but he knows he can't hire her. Adding someone whose name was implicated in an embezzlement scandal will be awful to the company. His brothers agree. But... she's sharp as a tack and perfectly qualified for the job and, let's face it, absolutely gorgeous. He caves and ends up offering her the job.
Kinly is extremely grateful for the opportunity but soon she and Wyatt realize that the pull between them is greater than they expected and the last thing she wants is for her reputation to hurt Wyatt and his family.
The audiobook is narrated dual style by Angelina Rocca and Connor Crais. Angelina expertly portrays Kinley as the determined, sensitive, loving woman who needs a fresh start. Connor is just perfect to give voice to the stubborn, loyal and totally smitten Wyatt.
A sweet story of redemption through love and unwavering support between a smart heroine and a protective CEO determined to prove that he was right in hiring the woman who becomes to love of his life.
The Sterlings are an interesting bunch! Though this is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone.
Content notes (including but not limited to): FMC has been wrongly accused of being involved in an embezzlement scandal and has been on trial, suffering tremendous setbacks in her professional life because of it
I’ve loved all the books in this series, but I’ve been waiting for Wyatt’s story because I just knew that when he would fall in love it was going to be incredibly fast and it would change his life in every way possible. Enter Kinley McGuire as the woman interviewing for Sterling’s VP of Business Development. As perfect as she is for this job, her last job ended in a scandal, that while she didn’t do anything wrong, everything that surrounded this issue, put a black mark on her back making nearly impossible to find a new job. This all changes when Wyatt can’t help himself and hires her and giving her the chance to prove herself.
The way these two worked together was amazing. They seem to be each other’s ying to the other’s yang. Kinley is incredibly intelligent, savvy, beautiful and nice to everyone she meets. Wyatt is the Sterling brother that is stubborn, focused to a fault and a workaholic unless it comes to his family including his nephew Jeremy. They’re the perfect match!
I devoured this audiobook thanks to Connor Crais and Angelina Rocca’s phenomenal narration. I could feel the sizzling chemistry and I laughed out loud at the witty banter. Listening to this book had a constant smile on my face.
This is a perfect addition to this series and I adore how the Sterling women drew Kinley into their circle giving her friendships that she so needed in her life. When you add Wyatt and his passion for her, Kinley is living the life she thought she’d never have.
These brothers and this series do not disappoint! This book was no exception! This was a great story with amazing characters. I had the pleasure of listening to the audio of this book….and I absolutely loved it. This time we have Wyatt. Wyatt has recently bought a winery and can’t wait to get started making it better and bigger. First up is hiring someone to execute his plans. Kinsey just had a horrible experience both with love and work…unfortunately for her it was a two for one and she got burned bad. Now she is struggling to find a job because her reputation took quite the beating. Is Wyatt willing to take a chance on her? She is good at her job and she knows it…but is she worth the risk?!? This well written book has layers and layers of an amazing story. A story about second chances, taking risk and everything in between. Then we have the added bonus of the undeniable chemistry these two have…the pull can’t be denied. But once again…she has been burned…it’s a scary thing to put yourself out there again. This is a slow burn that is definitely worth the wait…because these two definitely belong together. This series is extremely entertaining and I truly enjoyed this book. It was the perfect addition to this series. This family is extremely entertaining….and I can’t get enough of them. This book was sweet, emotional and a all around great story. The narrators did a outstanding job and I can’t wait to see what this author brings us next.
Once again Layla brings us characters that you will fall instantly in love with! She did just that with Wyatt and Kinley! Sit back and relax and enjoy their 5 star story! You're going to love it! Wyatt is starting a new business, and he needs just the right person for the job, one that will work side by side him and has the vision for his new wine venture. Enter Kinley, the company he uses sent her over to him. The only problem is, she was just involved in a court battle and accused of embezzling funds from a tech company. But it wasn't her, it was her boyfriend at the time, and a jury found her innocent. But the cloud is following her, she can't find a job, no one wants to hire her. Poor Kinley does this interview with Wyatt high hopes, only to be told he won't hire her because of the scandal still fresh in world. But in Wyatts eyes, she's actually perfect for the job. And she's beautiful to boot! His brothers warn him off hiring her, but after meeting with other candidates, he decides to do it, against his better judgement, but she truly is the perfect one. From there their story develops! These two are wildly attracted to each other, but Kinley doesn't want to make that mistake again, so she tries to not fall for him, but damn it's hard! I instantly fell for these two, Wyatt giving her the chance she needed! Kinley needed this, and Wyatt has her back! This is a must read! You'll love it!
Kinley has had it tough. Pulled into a scandal at a previous job, she is beginning her search for a new company. Unfortunately, her past follows her and it is difficult to find employment. Interviewing with Wyatt Sterling is a long shot, especially after overhearing his conversation. But he is taken with her from the start. Turning her down, he can't get her off his mind and convinces his brothers to take a chance on her. She is smart and thinks out of the box, so she is a definite asset. As she and Wyatt work together, his feelings can no longer be contained and the two begin a secret relationship. His protective nature helps her with her peers that don't want to work with her or potential customers that don't feel comfortable. Is she work the risk? Layla Hagen gives just the right amount of angst for this one, keeping the story full of feels and just enough spice. I love the sibling connections and how well they all work together. It's a fantastic addition to the series and I enjoyed it.
Connor Crais and Angelina Rocca work together to give all the feels to this couple. Crais is Wyatt and he is a hard businessman. He gives the man in charge feel, but when it comes to Kinley, he is all teddy bear. Rocca brings the smart, yet frustrated Kinley to the table and lets her shine and fall in love. These two are perfectly cast and made for an amazing listen.
- boss x employee workplace romance - forced proximity - no third-act breakup - he falls first - 🌶️🌶️.5/5 - dual pov - dual narration by Connor Crais and Angelina Rocca
Wyatt needs someone he can trust to help launch the Sterling family’s new winery in Napa, and despite the risk, he lands on Kinley. After a very public tech scandal the year before, her reputation isn’t exactly spotless, even if she was cleared of all charges. But Wyatt does his homework, sees the truth, and takes a chance on her anyway because he knows she's the best person for the job.
What follows is a week in Napa filled with close quarters, “not” dates in very romantic settings, and a whole lot of tension. It doesn’t take long for those professional boundaries to blur and for things to become very… unprofessional.
One of my favourite things was how protective Wyatt is of Kinley. Whether it’s business associates judging her past or uncomfortable run-ins with her ex-boss, he’s firmly in her corner. And once he decides she’s his, there’s no hesitation. The man is all in!
We also get plenty of time with the rest of the Sterlings, which is always such a fun bonus, and that little tease for the next couple definitely caught my attention 👀.
Finally, a moment for the audiobook because it's exactly as good as you’d expect from Connor Crais and Angelina Rocca. Plus, Connor took a couple of the spicier scenes to another level, that's all I'm saying 🔥.
Another fantastic book in the Sterling Series. This is Wyatt and Kinley's story and it isn't a smooth ride, but it is full of emotions.
Kinley is trying so desperately to move on with her life and find new work after her boss/partner trashed her reputation with his illegal activities. Midnight Kisses by Layla Hagen is a workplace romance featuring Wyatt Sterling, CEO of Sterling Investments and co-owner of the diversified Sterling Family conglomerate, and Kinley McGuire, a woman with a complicated past involving her ex's embezzlement case. Despite courts finding her not guilty of any wrongdoing, Kinley's reputation made it difficult for her to find employment in the business world. Wyatt, impressed by her ideas during an interview, initially decides not to hire her due to her association with her ex, but is tempted by her talent. After a dinner where he dismisses her hopes for a job, he later reverses his decision upon realizing how impressive her ideas are. As Sterling Investments acquires a vineyard, Wyatt invites Kinley to see how their ideas can come to life, sparking a romance between them. Both are wary about trusting again, but their feelings deepen as the story progresses. Challenges arise from some investors and wine distributors hesitant to support Kinley's involvement because of her ex’s criminal record. The intense, emotional romance promises a happy ending, with Kinley hoping for the best but unsure of her future—both professionally and romantically. Layla Hagen creates romances with guaranteed HEA and no cheating, as brought to life in the companion audiobook, Midnight Kisses, narrated by Conner Crais and Angelina Rocca. Her work is appreciated by readers, who should explore her back catalog while awaiting her upcoming releases.

As a fan of this author and the Sterling family series, I was thrilled to get into this story. It was effortless to turn these pages, and I finished this quicker than I expected, so plan your time.
Kinley has had some bad luck in the past year, but is hoping that someone, anyone, will overlook her past and give her a job. But as we all know, once a reputation is tarnished, the truth of innocence isn't enough to correct the damage. So getting the opportunity to interview for Wyatt Sterling is a step in the right direction - finally.
Wyatt has a big winery rebranding that he needs help with, and Kinley is just the person for the job. Ignoring her charisma and beauty is one thing, but the scandal her name carries with it should have him saying no to her employment with his company, but he doesn't.
I enjoyed seeing the sparks fly between these two, and the respect they had for eachother's business smarts/skills. While their HEA journey wasn't without hurdles, I appreciated his "we're in this together" attitude, and how his family supported him. The steamy connection and similarities between their thought processes were very enjoyable and I finished the book excited for the next story. I recommend reading this series in order for the best experience. My ARC came from Wordsmith PR (thank you) and happily leave my thoughts.
Ooh this one is the summer sizzler. Wyatt is a hotheaded and impulsive man, he sees he takes that how he’s become the alpha boss he is. He’s respected in his workplaces and his employees move him. Kinley on the other hand has hit rock bottom, embroiled in a corporate scandal that has tarnished her life all round, she’s been left unemployed and attempting to prove her innocence even though it was proven in the court system. but a job opportunity at Sterling Enterprises might change all of that. Her Interview with Wyatt is great until it’s not. He lets her go knowing that bringing her on would be a mistake. If you ask his brothers Wyatt plays by his own tune, he knows Kinley is perfect for the job, and their chemistry is HOT’ going against everything he offers her the job. First stop Napa Valley where her experience is evident, but a kiss changes the whole perspective. Kinley knows this behaviour is what began the demise of her previous corporate life, knowing she shouldn’t, there’s only so many times she can ignore those little belly flutters that occur because of the very sexy Wyatt Sterling. As the pair tackle the trials of business with a past and a future of love, life is beautiful in team Wy-ley! Soz couldn’t help myself.
Layla Hagen has done it again! She is a great story teller and Midnight Kisses is another good read. This is Wyatt Sterling’s story. He’s just bought a winery in Napa and has big plans for it. He needs to hire someone who has the skills to help lead the execution of said plan. In walks Kinley McGuire who has all those skills and then some. However, Kinley was involved in a fraud case a year earlier and even though she was found not guilty in court (her former boyfriend was guilty), businesses were not willing to hire her. Wyatt thought she was gorgeous, smart and would do a great job. But he knew he wasn’t going to hire her before she even interviewed. It got uncomfortable when she called him out on that during the interview and left dejected. His brothers all told him not to hire her, as she would be a liability. Of course Wyatt hired her and yes there were problems with potential business due to her past fraud case. That didn’t hinder Wyatt and during that time their personal relationship began to develop. Wyatt tweaked the business plan so they didn’t depend on anyone because he was falling fast and still wanted to work with her. This is a beautiful love story and the bonus is you’ll find out at the end which brother is next. This is a must read!
Wyatt is my favorite Sterling brother so far. He may even take the all time favorite spot from Dominic Waldorf (Cherish Me Forever, Maxwell Brothers series). Wyatt is genuine, loyal and protective of people he cares about. Just an all around great guy.
Kinley’s story broke my heart. She’s been beat up by the world. Trying to move forward and rebuild her life but just keeps getting knocked around. She’s strong and works hard. She’s determined.
Loved the chemistry between Wyatt and Kinley from the moment they met. It’s just so natural and easy. Just clicked into place.
The story was heartwarming and easy to read. Just so entertaining that I kept putting aside my other activities to come back and enjoy this book. I knew from the start that Kinsley was it for Wyatt but I just loved watching the story develop.
Love Ms. Hagen’s writing style. I read everything she writes. The characters are easy to relate to, I love the banter between family members and the stories have just the right amount of tension to keep you reading. I love the world building. I could feel the bright, sunny day at the winery in Napa Valley.
Looking forward to see what surprises are in store for Knox and Amy.
Kinley McGuire thought she had it all, a great job she liked and CFO boyfriend she dated the whole time until it all crashed down around her. He was embezzling from the company and everyone thought she was a part of it but wasn't and the court cleared her of that but some still don't believe it. So finding another job has been difficult. She was hoping things were turning around when she got the chance to interview with Wyatt Sterling of Sterling Investments, only to overhear him say he would never hire her after their interview.
Wyatt Sterling along with his brothers are business partners in numerous ventures all highly successful. His brothers all advise against hiring her but he's very attracted to her. They hit it off and had a lot of the same ideas and work ethics but he told her no and later changed his mind and hired her.
On a work trip to Napa you can feel the tension between them and the sparks fly, lots of flirting and bantering. Once back home their relationship changes and they become a couple but it's not without problems. Can they survive it all?
4.25 stars I enjoyed the story, their bantering and his brothers/texts. The epilogue was great! The next couple should be just as interesting.
I love Layla Hagen's Billionaires and this workplace romance was another delightful read.
This is the fourth book in the Sterling Brothers series and this story focuses on Wyatt and Kinley. Although Layla's stories can be read as standalones they are normally part of a series. But I love diving into any of her books as they are always fun, steamy and are normally workplace romances which I love.
I really enjoyed Kinley's storyline in this book. She was wrongly accused of something in a past job and it has ruined her reputation and making it very hard for her to gain future employment. Wyatt is looking to secure a new position in his company and so he interviews Kinley but originally turns her down even though she is perfect for the role. After some digging he decides to give her the benefit of the doubt and employs her.
He is in absolute awe of her and no matter how hard they try they just can't keep their distance as they fall harder and harder for one another. Soon they find they are giving in as a beautiful love story unfolds.
There was undeniable chemistry and heat with a whole lot of heart in this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
