The Gardener: An Audible Bedtime Story by Josie Adams is a gentle and comforting listen that perfectly captures the relaxing atmosphere you want from a bedtime story. The narrative unfolds at an unhurried pace, creating a calming experience that makes it easy to settle in and escape from the stresses of the day.

What I enjoyed most was the vivid imagery and peaceful setting. Adams paints a charming picture of the garden and its caretaker, encouraging listeners to slow down and appreciate the small, beautiful details often overlooked in everyday life. The soothing tone makes this an ideal story for listening to before sleep.

Although the plot is fairly simple and doesn't offer many surprises, that feels intentional given the format. This isn't a story designed to keep you on the edge of your seat; instead, its strength lies in its warmth, atmosphere, and sense of tranquility. At times I found my attention drifting slightly, which is the main reason it didn't quite reach five stars.

Overall, The Gardener is a lovely, comforting short listen that succeeds in its goal of helping listeners relax and unwind. If you're looking for a peaceful, feel-good bedtime story with gentle storytelling and a calming mood, this is well worth a listen.

'The Gardener: An Audible Bedtime Story' written by Josie Adams (Audible) narrated by Minnie Driver

This was a lovely, calming storyline to listen to when you just want to de-sress and have some alone time after a busy day. Marketed as an aid for falling asleep, it works anytime you just want some quiet time. I felt like I was walking in peaceful gardens with her throughout the seasons, noticing all the changes in the landscape and appreciating Mother Nature's bounty.

Featuring one of my favorite actresses Minnie Driver as the narrator, her dulcet speaking voice soothes even the most jangled of nerves into quiet contemplation.

Loved it! It's going on my permanent re-read (listen) shelf.
Two thumbs up 👍👍

This was an okay enough book, but I'm confused about its purpose. It's nice. It's quaint. Character development? Not much. A cure for insomnia? Nah! A gardening almanac? No. Minie Driver as the narrator? She carries the load across the line. The book does nothing badly, but nil exceptionally either.
