For Authentication Purposes

Rate this book
Dawn Sims has made a name for herself writing romantic fiction online. When she's pushed to try her hand at publishing, she thinks she has everything figured out. The only problem? She's never been in a relationship, especially one that has led her to finding The Big O.

So much for writing what you know.

Warner Green has had Dawn in his sights since she walked into his class in seventh grade. She broke his teenage heart not once, but twice, so seeing her in his night class at the local community college was an unexpected surprise.

Accidentally reading her bad erotica on her laptop was a blessing from the Smut Gods themselves.

It's clear she has no idea what she's writing about, but Warner does. In fact, he knows so much that he's willing to offer her his services. The deal is teach the good girl from high school everything she needs to know to write from experience. If he gets to live out a fantasy or two that he's been harboring for almost a decade, then there's no harm in that either.

The lessons turn more heated, and Dawn begins to question where Warner has learned his skills, but he's not ready to talk, until his past comes back to haunt him at the worst possible time.

It shouldn't matter when it's for authentication purposes only.

Dawn Sims aka Bunny grew up in a military family that moved around a lot. When they finally settle down in Cleveland, Ohio, she is 14, and in 7th grade. She meets a boy on her first day of classes named Warner Green aka Wardo. They are friends through middle school & high school, with a love/hate relationship, who are very attracted to each other.

Dawn is now in college working on her degree in English, and caring for an elderly man during the day. In her free time she writes historical romance. She shares her romantic fiction online with others for feedback, & hopes to soon be published. She's recently experienced some writers block, & is having trouble working on her story. When she arrives at her night class one evening at the community college she is shocked to see Warner Green. She hasn't seen him since high school, & he's still as gorgeous as ever, & she still feels flustered around him. They are put together as lab partners, and then Warner happens to come across Dawn's bad erotica on her laptop.

Warner has had a thing for Dawn & wanted her since he first laid eyes on her at the age of 14. He takes advantage of this opportunity that has been laid in his lap, & suggests that Dawn needs hands on experience for her writing to be authentic. He offers his services with no strings attached to teach her everything he knows. This is a chance for Warner to live out his greatest fantasy.

Dawn has never been in a relationship, and doesn't have much experience with men or sex. She decides for research purposes to enter into an arrangement with Warner. It doesn't hurt he is drop dead gorgeous, and is probably very talented at pleasing a woman. She is excited to be his student, and learn all his skills of seduction & pleasure.

Things get steamy quick in this book. Right from the start this book is absolutely delicious & hilarious! Warner is confident, witty, & a dirty talker. He is extremely talented in the bedroom, the kitchen, etc. ;)) & is a fabulous teacher.

 photo 1d6ba49d-b4f0-4e7a-a95b-f3b89eb7af4f_zpsc66f4146.jpg

This book was seriously hot throughout, but also sweet. Warner feels more for Dawn then he lets on, and the longer they are together, the more they both care for each other. Things become real, and they can't pretend anymore that things are just casual between them.

This was such a wonderful book, that I enjoyed throughout. I couldn't put it down! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a sexy, steamy read with plenty of laughter. :D

Dawn and Warner know each other since they were fourteen. Warner was smitten by her looks from the moment he laid eyes on her. From the beginning their relationship was different, a ‘love’-‘hate’ relationship, even if they were secretly liked each other.

Years later, Dawn has a day job going to college at night. In her free time she writes historical erotic romance, sharing her novels online with others for feedback. She trust herself and she’s convinced she can become a successful author. Too bad she has very little experience with sex. All the romance novels she read through the years don’t help her anymore, especially now since she has writer’s block – she doesn’t know how to write a good, steamy sex scene. Not anymore.

Even if they parted ways years ago, Warner never forgot Dawn. He’s more than happy when he finds out Dawn is his colleague and his new lab partner. Snooping in her computer one day, he finds out she writes erotica. He is amused and lets her know how bad it is, but he can't deny he's intrigued by this new sexy side of her. Sp he makes her an offer she can't refuses. Of course only if she wants to learn how to write good smut. He will be her sex teacher, he will teach her everything he knows about sex.

“The gods of smut were smiling down on me, and I was giving them a dirty high-five.
My life would never be the same.”

Dawn can’t complain about his new sex teacher. He’s still gorgeous and from the way he talks she can tell he has more experience in bed than her.

description

This was a sweet, sexy, funny at times and easy to read novel and I really enjoyed it. The plot is pretty simple and the premise it’s nothing new, but it still was an entertaining read. I liked both Dawn and Warner. Both of them were likeable, but I would have liked a little more character development. Together they are pretty great. I enjoyed their banter and their interactions. I liked that first they were friends and then something more. Warner is naughty and he was great with Dawn. He’s not pushy or anything and he’ also sweet and attentive and I loved how he gets her to become aware of her own sexuality. I also loved the fact that he was honest with her.
Despite the fact that Warner has a secret there’s no angst or stupid drama, which I liked very much. The sex scenes are steamy and I enjoyed all their sexy encounters.

Overall, a nice steamy read!

Title: For Authentication Purposes
Series: Standalone
Author: Amber L. Johnson
Release date: March 5, 2015
Rating: 4 stars
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

This is my second Amber L. Johnson read, so I'm no expert, but I'm thinking this book is a lot steamier than her norm. This is one of those times that I had the book sitting on my kindle, and somehow it kept getting pushed down on my TBR pile for no apparent reason. Now it has a proud place on my why-didn't-I-read-this-earlier shelf. When I finally sat down and started to dig in, I quickly saw that this book is much more sexually explicit and more humorous than my previous ALJ read.

Warner's mouth was writing sonnets to my pussy and at the moment, he was fucking Shakespeare.

Warner and Dawn (or Bunny and Wardo as they like to call each other) have been frienemies since they were 14 years old. Dawn was always the good girl who worked hard in school and Warner was that guy that took delight in pushing all of her buttons. As the years went by, his teasing and rude ways only caused the love-hate dynamic to grow. It was clear to me that it was his immature way of expressing his crush on her-he was just incapable of showing it in the proper way. And Dawn kind of had a stick up her ass so she wasn't having any of his bullshit. I must admit, this heroine did get on my nerves with her prissy attitude in the beginning. Thank god, Warner worked his miracle with her, because she could have ruined it for me.

Fast forward to now: they're both in college. She's trying to write her first romance novel, but her sexual inexperience is making her writing come off as completely ridiculous. (With words like: nubs, pebbled love buttons, and aroused flower, it's no wonder she's dissatisfied with her book.) When Warner discovers her sad attempt at writing, he sees this as his chance to finally get the girl that's eluded him all these years. His offer to awaken her repressed inner sex kitten is one she can't turn down. It has nothing to do with her own unwanted, ignored feelings for him. Nothing whatsoever. (That was sarcasm) But Wardo won't just jump right in to the main attraction with her. There's a lot of teasing, teaching, and raging hormones.

Warner slowly pushes her boundaries and helps her explore what she's been missing out on all these years. He was quite the tease, giving her just enough to tide her over but never enough to satisfy. The sexual frustration built until I was more than ready for them to get on with it. But all that build up paid off because the result was well worth the wait.

He let out a whispered, "Jesus," before a full body tremor rolled through his frame, causing his arms and stomach to flex. Ever so gently, he ran his chin against my cheek and exhaled into my ear.
"It's better than I ever imagined."

They worked well together, I really enjoyed their bantering, and seeing her loosen up and start to take life a little less seriously. There was one little conflict-a secret past that he was hiding from her, but it didn't cause any drama whatsoever when it came out, and I was really fine with that.

I liked this book for it's light effervescent quality, and the steam was pretty well done. I loved Warner, he was bold and naughty all the way through and I wanted to kick Dawn for her oblivious ignorance of his feelings toward her. It took me a while to warm up to her, but she did bring me around in the end. I would have enjoyed seeing a bit more depth to their relationship-there was a lot of sex going on, but I get that they knew each other for many years so the getting to know one another phase is pretty unnecessary. I did feel as if it would have improved the story to see more bonding and less sexing, but still, it was a fun read. If you like the friends to lovers trope, or New Adult with a little different spin than the norm, this could be the one for you.

Another heartfelt and highly addictive story by Amber L. Johnson; her books are like going on my favorite ride at Disney World, full of excitement, smiles and I simply can't get enough. This book is a must read!!!

 photo b8e7d831-eb1d-45df-b1bb-453c8ade3472_zps222cb9a9.jpg

Dawn and Warner know each other since they were fourteen , they attended the same school and from day one they started the typical Boy likes girl so boy is aways bothering girl, girl hates boy but secretly loves the attention. Every time these two would come in contact it was trouble, Warner liked Dawn so much he couldn't stop pushing her buttons and always looking to riled her up, and Dawn spend her teenage years thinking of different way to murder Warner and that's how they became Bunny and Wardo (mix between Warner and Weirdo).

Years later Dawn is attending night school after dropping out from college; she works during the day taking care of a naughty elderly man and at night she goes to school to pursue an English degree that will help her become the accredited author she wishes to be. She enjoys writing smut romance but there is one problem, she's doesn't have a lot, if any , experience in the sex department. Warner is also attending night school and he is delighted to learn the he is sharing classes with his favorite childhood nemesis Dawn. They have been paired up to be lab partners and one day when Dawn is away in the bathroom, Warner starts snooping in her computer and finds the notes of the book she's been writing; chapters that talk about wet folds, pillars of passion, pulsating flowers and peddled nubs. All the naughty words make him both laugh and get aroused because he didn't know the that girl who he's had a crush since he was fourteen years old and seemed like such a goody two shoes had a dirty side to her. Dawn is mortified that annoying Wardo read her stuff, but when he explains that her book appears fake because he can tell she has no experience in the sex department but offers to help teach her some moves that she can then translate into her story, she can't help but be intrigued. Rule number one about writing, is to write about what you know, so Bunny and Wardo make a deal; they will experience sexual fantasies with each other, Warner will teach her everything he knows and promises to give her something she's never had, a big, intense O.

I love a good story of opposites attract and when I read the blurb I expected a light and fun read, but it was surprisingly more than that. The characters and their story had a lot of heart and soul, and I was very impressed by this author's creativity and her ability to write such hot sex scenes because let me tell you, For Authentication Purposes is a total panty melting book. What I loved the most was the sexual tension, it was brilliantly drawn throughout the book, so you can imagine, I was crazy with expectation and when it came time for the pick of the excitement the fall was much more sweeter. This book was so much fun to read, I laughed and enjoyed myself so much, among other things, so I'm making this story the first book to nominate to my best of the year list. So why not five stars? you may ask; because I wish it was longer!!!!! I need more Bunny and Wardo, I need more, pretty please Ms. Amber L. Johnson. This characters have so much to them and I desperately need more.....

Dawn Sims is struggling with writing. She wants to write historic romance and although her online friends offer praise and support, her scenes are lacking steam. Attending night classes at the community college, she runs into Warner Green, the boy that teased her and held her attention since they were fourteen. When Warner sneaks a peek at her laptop and realizing that she needs help, he offers up his services. But what Dawn Sims never realized is that Warner has had a crush on her for years.

As Dawn and Warner begin her sexual education, we learn the history of two kid named Bunny & Wardo as well. We see the awkward way Warner showed his interest in her and we get to see it grow into something a bit more heated as adults.

I discovered Amber L. Johnson’s writing in 2014 with Puddle Jumping. I then consumed everything she had written after that. I have loved every single book of hers and loved this one just as much. With For Authentication Purposes we get a heavy dose of humor and some very sexy scenes. This is not a mild read by any means. Warner slowly seduces Dawn as he gets her to become aware of her own sexuality. There are few scenes where you’re left fanning yourself followed by an immediate case of the giggles.

I loved the dynamic of these two from the start. Warner never grew out of the little boy that pulls the pigtails of the girl he likes and it was perfect. Just what Dawn needed at just the right moment.

Don’t expect to read this and get the same sort of story that you’d expect from Ms. Johnson. Sure, you’ll still get the stellar writing – but this is a bit saucier than her prior books. But I think the balance of steam and humor blended perfectly. It is hard not to leave this story without falling a little in love with Bunny & Wardo. I look forward to what else this author writes. She had me with Puddle Jumping and has turned me into a fan with every single word she has written since.

I could not put this book down! I adored Wardo and Bunny! This book is so different from the other published books Amber Johnson has out. Beatless and Puddle Jumping are beautiful and heartwarming, 5 star books. FAP is funny, HOT, cute, HOT, sweet, HOT, and a real page turner. I learned new positions that I'm looking forward to trying out. Parts of this book really got my blood pumping and other parts had me laughing out loud. I was skeptical after reading her other books, but I'm here to tell you... Amber can write a hot sex scene like a BOSS! I love this story!

Warner has always Dawn since the moment he met her. And through the years, it only grew. He might have acted like he could careless and been a stoner in high school but he's been noticing and learning everything about her. Honestly, it's a little creepy how much he knows. He was really infatuated with her when he was younger, and still is. But at the same time, it's kind of cute. He wanted to know everything about her, and everything he learned just made his crush keep growing. But he never made a move. He was too scared to. And then it was too late. But when she walks into his night class in college he can hardly believe his eyes. He doesn't know how he's going to do it, but he's not letting her walk out of his life again.

Dawn wasn't popular in high school either and she noticed Warner too. She thought he was cute but since he was always bothering and picking on her, her annoyance for him outshines any attraction she felt. She's always been one to stick to herself and her studies. Always in the background, had friends but was never popular. Now as an adult she writes Historical Romance online but she's been having writers block and can't seem to figure out what to write. When she sees Warner in her college class she's less than amused by him, especially once he accidentally reads her book and laughs at it and calls the sex scenes ridiculous and completely unrealistic. And then he offers to give her sex lessons to teach her what it's really like to have great sex. And as someone who's never had an orgasm and has barely any sexual experience, she decides to take him on the offer.

Ok, I'm just going to say it: this book is weird. A part of me kept thinking "Is this book for real?" while another part was amused and very entertained with the characters antics. I loved her writing in her other book but in this one, it felt different. It didn't feel like something she would write. I couldn't connect with the characters, or with the story. Warner made me uncomfortable sometimes and I kept waiting for him to snap and do something crazy like kill her or something. I know! Where did that thought come from? I don't know but sometimes the things he said were borderline stalkerish and I just wasn't feeling it.

This book is definitely humorotica. Very heavy on smut. I'm honestly surprised by how intense and sexy some of those sex scenes were. But beyond the smut, there wasn't much there. The whole thing is just basically sex. Even the plot is about it: sex lesson and all. But I needed more. I wish this book was longer so we get more time and details about them. We briefly learn about their past together as teenagers but then we're taken back to the present and she's seeing him again. If the book spent more time showing their past, giving me more time to get comfortable with the characters and get into the idea of them being together it wouldn't have felt so out of place. The fact that they haven't seen each other in years -and even when they went to school together they hardly talked- and then she talks to him once in college and now she's just having sex with him? It was just all to sudden and fast for me. I needed more.

I liked this book and I look forward to reading more from this author, my only wish is that it'll be longer and
had a bit more than just sex going on. I wish I could've seen these characters be with each other without sex always being in the mix. If you're in the mood for some smut with a side of funny then I'd recommend giving this book a chance.

HAPPY RELEASE DAY!!!

Oh My Gosh! This is SMUT. Funny Smut. Silly Smut. CHARMING SMUT WITH A PLOT. I smiled a lot as I read this. I even laughed out loud a time or three. While the steamy times are many, they are held together with an actual plot.

From a former fan fic reader and writer myself, this one hits home! Dawn has been writing fiction for free on line. Her readers want her to publish her work. They want to hold it in their hands. She decides to go for it. And that's when the "fear of white pages" aka "writer's block" smacks her keyboard. What seemed so easy, is now a challenge.

Then the biggest challenge comes when Warner reads her beginning...and can't control his laughter. He decides she needs some real world experience in the romance and sexy times department, and he is just he man for the job. He's UP for it. You know, For Authentication Purposes!

While Dawn is pushing to seal the deal, Warner is holding off. He wants her to really want IT. And he has a few fears of his own going, too. He's been more than singed in an ongoing issue and while he wants to "get to the good stuff" he also wants to wait. For good reason, he did ask her to marry him when he was 14, and now he wants to make it real. And a quick "wham, bam" is not in the cards.

Yes, this was steamy...but it was also incredibly charming. Warner and Dawn are nicely showcased amidst a hysterical supporting cast. I enjoyed this one a lot. Hope you do, too.

4.5 Sexy Stars

Since reading Puddle Jumping last year, I have become a huge fan of Amber Johnson. She brings a breath of fresh air into the New Adult world with her unique characters and story lines. After reading the blurb For Authentication Purposes (FAP), I knew this was another must read. However, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the story of Warner and Dawn, and both completely stole my heart.

The scenes in this book are scorching hot. Warner has quite the verbal skills and he ranks high on my list of dirty talkers. (Yes, I have a list with many mentions.) However, I was pleased how sensitive and caring he was with Dawn. It’s often easy for readers to forgive less than stellar personalities when they are attached to a hot man. However, Warner is truly a good guy, and I loved him even more for it. His humor and unique lessons on sex proves you don’t have to be a cocky billionaire to turn a woman on.

The gods of smut were smiling down on me, and I was giving them a dirty high-five. My life would never be the same.

Dawn represents the everyday woman and many readers will identify with her. While some of her “writing” is over the top, it’s something all romance readers have seen on at least one occasion. I found myself laughing out loud at her antics several times. The banter between her and Warner flowed so easily. As much I enjoyed the sexy times, I loved seeing the relationship blossom from awkward childhood friends to something more meaningful.

"See? That right there. That’s the problem. You’ve never been properly f**ed.”

I read this book in one setting and never noticed how fast the pages were clicking. The writing is wonderful and contained the perfect balance of sweetness and hotness. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a super sexy but fun read. I can’t wait to see what Johnson creates for her readers next. She is a true gem in the NA genre.

There are books that tear your heart out, books that make you question everything you've ever believed, books that put you through the ringer, and others that leave you somewhere between hot and bothered and ready to hump the next thing that moves, while laughing your arse off. For Authentication Purposes is the latter.

Eight Days A Week gave me my first taste of Amber L. Johnson, and I was instantly hooked, finding the perfect balance of humour, heat and heart can be tricky, but Johnson nailed it, so I had pretty hefty expectations for FAP (ha ha...yes I still giggle at that one)

Dawn Sims has been writing historical erotic romance on the sly, posting in author/reader critiquing groups online and getting feedback that she should be publishing her work. The idea that you write what you know couldn't be farther from the truth, Dawn knows nothing about maiden sea voyages, sexy leading men, and wild crazy soul consuming sex. When one time childhood friend, and present day nuisance Warner Green stumbles across Dawn's work, she might have finally found a no strings way to experience everything she writes about...for authentication purposes obviously.

What these two embark on had me simultaneously laughing my arse off, and fanning myself to cool down. I've read plenty of sexy books, but this one...yeesh...phroawwww...this was effortlessly sexy, two characters who can laugh with each other, at themselves, the storyline was original from start to finish and I was hooked from the first page, not because FAP was exactly what I expected, but because it was everything I wanted to read without even realising it.

Amber L Johnson continues to wow me, I know without a doubt that I'm in for something special when I pick up her books, her characters are real, stories are believable, and filled with everything I want in a book. The sexual chemistry, the attraction and banter, the heartfelt feels, the moments of sheer hilarity, this author has cemented her place as someone I will 1click with no hesitation.

I love books like this - it's a perfect combination of humor and sex. This was a very lighthearted and fun read that I actually laughed out loud while reading. I love this author's work and this book is unlike anything I've read by her before and I loved it just the same. Dawn and Warner are very likeable characters who have known each other since they were 14. They kind of have a love/hate thing going on. When Dawn is writing a book and struggling with the love scene, Warner accidentally reads her work and offers to help her by giving her pleasure that will help her write sex. This book is very hot but also a really sweet story. I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves a sexy, sweet, humorous romance.

Amber L. Johnson continues to show her diversity as a writer in her most recent novel titled For Authentication Purposes. I have now read six novels written by Johnson, and I find myself impressed by the variety of topics and genres in which she writes. Young Adult. New Adult. Contemporary Romance. And now erotic romance. The improvement in her writing is noticeable as she continues to publish stories that she has written over the last few years. Johnson has labeled this story “humorotica,” which is entirely appropriate because For Authentication Purposes is funny. Really, really funny!

Dawn Sims and Warner Green met in the eighth grade. It didn’t take long for them to give each other nicknames. Bunny and Wardo. They have a colorful past. Warner was always hanging around. Looking at Dawn. Sitting in front of her in class. Warner was good-looking. He hung around with the bad crowd and always got into fights. Every girl wanted his attention, but not Dawn. She wanted nothing to do with him. She wanted credibility. She was all about the books. In high school, Dawn finally understood Warner’s reputation. All of the girls just loved the bad boy. She knew Warner liked her. Warner knew Dawn hated to like him. Dawn and Warner even went to prom together.

Now its ten years later, and Dawn has decided to take night classes towards an English degree. She is in the process of writing a novel, and she wants to have some credibility when she submits her manuscript to a publisher. Once again, Warner and Dawn have end up in the same class, where he sits nearby and continues with his usual harassment. When Dawn excuses herself to go to the ladies room, Warner reads a portion of the historical romance she is writing, and he recognizes it is bad. Very bad.

Warner gives Dawn plenty of grief. He tells her she writes terrible porn – think “love buttons” and “pink pebbled peaks”. Dawn has no idea how to write sex because of her inexperience, so of course, Warner makes her an offer she can hardly refuse. He offers to show Dawn the ropes for research purposes, so her writing will be authentic. For authentication purposes. After all, you can only write about what you know.

I discovered Johnson after receiving a recommendation to read Puddle Jumping. Puddle Jumping was one of my favorite novels that I read during 2014. It’s considered a young adult or mature young adult novel. I almost always feel more comfortable reading novels from these genres, but I will occasionally read an erotic romance upon recommendation. I admit I was curious to see how Johnson would fare in this genre. And you know what? I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed this story – something which is extremely important to me when I read erotic romance. For Authentication Purposes is hot! It’s erotic in the best kind of way, but there is also an intriguing story buried beneath the surface which slowly unfolds with each chapter. All of these things, combined with Johnson’s witty humor and excellent writing, kept me turning the pages until the end. I’m giving For Authentication Purposes a 4.5 star rating. I can’t wait to see what is next from Amber L. Johnson!

4 Star Review by Jen Skewes

I love Amber L. Johnsons’s writing. Since reading Puddle Jumping which is one of my all time favorite books, I quickly became a fan. For Authentication Purposes is a bit different than her other books. A mix of humor and erotica which made for an enjoyable read. This is the story of Wardo and Bunny. Two people who have had a love/hate relationship with each other since they were kids. They see each again after 10 years and Wardo has a deal for Bunny that she may not be able to refuse.

Dawns Sims works in the day, goes to school and night and works on her historical romance novel in between. She has an online group that she is a part of that encourage her writing and makes her feel like maybe she has a shot at really becoming a writer. Until Warner Green shows up in one of her college classes and accidentally comes across her writing without her permission of course. Warner basically tells her that her writing is crap and to write good hot sex scenes you have to actually know what you are talking about. Dawn does not have much experience in the romance department so maybe Warner is right. She starts to doubt her abilities as a writer. And then he makes her a deal. He will teach her everything she needs to know in order to write great romance novel.

Warner and Dawn have a history. She walked into his class in seventh grade and he has wanted her ever since. But they have always had a love/hate relationship. It’s been about 10 years since they have last seen each other and Warner is still as good looking as she remembers. But he is still Warner, aka Wardo. Can she really do this? Can she really be with Wardo in a sexual way and learn everything she needs to know for her book. So what if they have a history or is she thinks he is attractive or at times he completely pushes her buttons. Who cares that their history is one that includes a broken heart. This little deal is for authentication purpose only right? So no big deal, she learns what she needs to know and then their deal ends.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the chemistry and relationhsip between Bunny and Wardo. He has wanted her for so long and now that the smut gods have given him another chance he is going to take them. But Wardo seems to be very experienced with his dirty talking ways and Dawn has to wonder how he knows so much. Something just isn’t adding up in her mind. . Warner has a past that you want to lern about. And Dawn has feelings for Warner even if she cannot admit it. So while I loved the humor and the banter between the two of them I also loved watching them open up. . This book had humor and very HOT sex scenes. There is a bit of romance in there as well but this is all about the humor and the sex. But not in a way where it is completely over poweringIf you are looking for a little bit of romance, a fun, sweet, hot and sexy read that this one is for you. I loved Wardo and Bunny together and would love more of them in the future.

3 Bunny-Whipped Stars

Warner Green has been in love with Dawn Sims since she walked into his classroom at age fourteen. The problem is Dawn was a military brat, wanting to make friends and fit in, she ignored Warner based on gossip she heard about him. In his teenage effort to get to know her, she broke his heart not once, but twice.

Now, eight years later with secrets they don't want anyone to know about themselves, they come face to face again. They are classmates once again in the local college. When looking for notes on her computer, Warner finds Dawn's secret and offers to help her make them more authentic. But things go from being about getting what they want from each other to finding more of themselves in each other.

When Warner's secret comes close to ruining things with Dawn, he comes clean. Will it hurt or strengthen what they are finding in each other?

I like it. I thought the writing wasn't great, but the author may bet better with practice. I thought Dawn and Warner were sweet and I liked how each chapter alternated their POV's. I thought there could have been more depth in Dawn and what she was feeling for Warner. She just seemed to be on the surface. Warner had more internal musings of what he was feeling and what he was doing to get close to Dawn.

Like I said, I do believe this author could get better with more practice and maybe an editor to help her flush things out a little more.

This book is hilarious, sexy, and fun!

Aspiring romance writer Dawn Sims, is at an impasse. She isn't very experienced in the bedroom department, and can't really write what she doesn't know.

Dawn clearly needs help writing her story and that's where Warner Green steps in to help her. He knows his way around the bedroom and specifically his way around a woman's body.

Once seeing a snippet of Dawn's writing one day, he offers his services to her by teaching her his skills, so she can write better love scenes.

But here's the thing, Dawn can't STAND him. Will this "work relationship" actually work? Or is it a disaster waiting to happen? Dawn is all in, because it's all just For Authentication Purposes, right?

Warner is HILARIOUS!! He enjoys making Dawn feel uncomfortable. Not only that, but the banter back and forth and Dawn's sexual frustration is quite funny.

Now, let's talk about Warner. Why would he offer to have a "no-strings-attached" sexual partnership with Dawn? Why does he care? Or does he even care at all? And how is Warner such an expert on sex, anyway?

These are some if the questions that are answered in the book.

I LOVE the nicknames they have for each other and I love their past with each other as well.

Amber L. Johnson is so cleverly witty, I absolutely LOVED this book. I mean, how can you not, with a book title that has the acronym FAP!

I give For Authentication Purposes 5 FAP-tastic stars!

My 5 Star "You Go Girl" Review!

This was just smuttastic!!

I personally love a smutty story that carries an actual story line.

And it was fun.

It was addictive, sweet, no real drama, no angst, smexy, hot, and engaging.

Who doesn't love that???

So...Dawn and Warner, better yet, Bunny and Wardo. Yep, fun names that came about because these two have known each since they were 14 yrs old. A true love/hate thing gloriously explained as only they can.

They grow up and move on.

Dawn is a fanfic writer, something near and dear to my heart. She has a nice size following and her group of friends who have encouraged her to publish.

Something Dawn really wants to do, the only problem, she has never experienced hot passionate sex, and is stuck on her story.

Along comes Warner strolling back in to her life.

Now Warner has always really liked Dawn, but as kids do, never really gets it together. He's been through some drama, has a past but knows this is his second chance with Dawn.

After snooping on her laptop during a night class, he finds his in with her.

That's where the story takes off, with his offer of "help".

I loved this story. I loved how fun it was. I loved the characters banter. Their sweetness, their fights and frustrations.

This is a must read for anyone who loves a smutty read with an actual story line!

You go girl for writing such a fun story!!

Amber L. Johnson continues to knock it out of the park.

For Authentication Purposes is straight up Humorotica. It is not for the faint of heart or for the under 18 crowd.

Dawn 'Bunny' Sims and Warner Green are some of my favorite characters. Warner has such a huge personality, but I love that he draws strength and boldness out in Dawn.

Warner has been half in love with Bunny for most of his life. When he stumbles upon her secret, Warner feels like he's been given an early Christmas present. Warner is only too happy to help Dawn do the research needed in order to write her romance novels with authenticity. Now he just has to make sure that his own secrets stay hidden away where they belong.

Ms. Johnson created an eclectic cast of characters that come together to create a sexy, fun story complete with secrets and swoons. I love her wit and heart. If you are looking for something that is quick and hot (TWSS) give FAP a try.

This was a fast read and I really enjoyed the interaction between Dawn (Bunny) and Warner (Wardo). What a great idea for a book! I wish I had my own "For Authentication Purposes" man. The book made me laugh out loud at times and I really loved the sizzling hot "almost" sex scenes. That Wardo is quite the tease, I must say. If you're looking for something entertaining, light, yet smoking hot, this is a great book for you! Pick up your copy today.

Fun, sexy, & sweet!

I adore Johnson's voice. She tells a story in such a relatable way, and with, what I've come to expect, her signature humor. For Authentication Purposes didn't pack quite the emotional punch that I found in previous reads from her but it was certainly a lot a fun!

Dawn and Warner, aka Bunny and Wardo, have known each other since junior high. They orbited one another for all these years - and now find themselves in a college class together.

Following an incident in class, Warner discovers that Dawn has a problem:
"Your story sucks because it's false. No one wants to read that shit because it's not real. Hell, it's not even much of a fantasy. You have nothing to go off of. The best advice a writer can have is to write what they know. And you know jack shit about sex." -Warner, eARC Loc 351
And it's a problem he's more than happy to help with. If it happens to enable him to accomplish his own goals, all the better.

Johnson referred to For Authentication Purposes as humorotica, and that's an apt description.
"Shifting a little to look at him, I resisted the urge to kick him in the nuts and lick his neck at the same time." -Dawn, eARC Loc 750
As I said, Dawn and Warner have been in each others' lives for years but witnessing them become better acquainted, taking the time to do away with what they thought they knew about the other, to figure out what they each were all about, was a delight. The hows and whys behind they're doing it even more so.

The story is relayed through alternating POVs. Therefore, I came to care for both Dawn and Warner, getting inside both their heads. I giggle-snorted so many times over their thoughts and during the interactions. That saying, opposites attract, is certainly true of these two. Dawn was so straight-laced and Warner was, well, not so straight-laced. He loved doing and saying things to get under her skin. And Dawn was easy to rile.

For Authentication Purposes is a fun, sweet romance with some smoking sexy times. Johnson has made her way onto my favorite authors list with her dynamic characters and humor.

"For authentication purposes." My heart was about to burst out my chest, and I was sure my vag was going to catch a cold from the damn home it was now in with the wind trying to claw its way through my jeans.
He smiled wide and closed his eyes as he repeated what I said. "For authentication purposes. Yeah. I like it." Opening his eyelids he grinned even wider. "We can shorten that to F.A.P."

This book was a pleasure to read. It made me giggle, a lot. And personally, I love books that make me giggle.

But this book made me hot too. My heart skipped a couple of beats whenever Wardo would speak (heck I could hear him whisper the words in my ear).

This isn't exactly a second-chance romance, but it hints it. Wardo and Dawn knew each other when they were younger and Wardo has always had his eye on her.
Seeing that she needed help with her book, he wasn't going to let any man come close to her. If someone was going to teach her the pleasures of sex, it was going to be him and only him.

"Dawn Sims of the Honor Roll Society, Thespian Society, squeaky clean good girl who didn't even drink on prom night and never had detention in school was writing awful porn online and wanted to sell it for a living.
Fuck.

Me.

Please
."

And boy is he skilled...especially with those fingers.
Dawn lives in the moment where she enjoys every moment with him and everything she's never experienced.

"Declan? How do you feel about fruit flies?
"I fuckin' love fruit flies."

But she can't help but wonder how he knows all this. He's only been with three women and Wardo is hush until his past comes to say hello.

I watched as he sliced the top off of a strawberry, the juice trickling over his thumb before he brought it to his mouth and cleaned it off. My staring must have been a little more obvious than I thought because he licked his lips slow and deliberate, making me shift around a little against the pillow. "What kind of lesson is this?" I asked, dropping my eyes from his mouth to my bare stomach.
"Who said this was a lesson? I just want to eat breakfast off your delicious body."

After reading Maybe and then FAP, man! Amber got hella kinky with her writing in this book. And I. Freaking. Love. It!

Dawn Sims (Bunny) is an inspiring writer with no experience in the love life area. Warner Green (Wardo) is a known bad boy who has always had a crush on Dawn since grade school.

By accident Wardo reads Bunny's romance novel during a college class they had together and offers to help her get the learning experience she needs. Bunny agrees since it will be For Authentication Purposes only.

“Oh, hell no. Being with you in a porn shop is on my list of ‘Things to Never Do Before I Die’.”
Excerpt From: Amber L. Johnson. “For Authentication Purposes.”

Just like any of Amber's books that I have read (which are all) it was so well written. The comedy, love, humor and passion that she put into this story made me laugh, smile and think of sexy times I needed to have with my boyfriend several times. Her way with words always get you in the right mood!

Reading the love story evolve for Bunny and Wardo was hilarious! They matched each other so well that we knew it was just a matter of time before Dawn would fall in love with Warner. I loved this story from the beginning when Warner called Dawn out in front of his friends because of her word choices in her novel she was attempting to write. And who couldn't love the story all the way through from the sex toy store to Wardo's job at the bookstore (wipes brow) then next to when he rolled of the hood of car in excitement!!!

Another 5 Star book by the lovely Amber!!!

Fantastic book!!! This book is a great mix of sexy hot scenes and comedy!! I couldn't put the book down, when I was not laughing I was hot bothered, lol!! Wardo is sexy in the bad boy way but has a sweet side too that comes out when he talks about Bunny. Bunny and Wardo have been in love since middle school only she didn't know it. Sometimes the best choice is right in front of you. If you have read other books by Amber Johnson this one is different, she nailed it:)

I'm still giggling now even though I read this book a few days ago. This has a unique and funny storyline that u enjoyed.

Dawn is studying English and writing a historical romance story. However she's got writers block. A chance meeting with Warner who she knew years ago may just help her. Warner fancied Dawn years ago and the attraction is still there. He offers his experience to her about sex and all his dreams come through when she agrees. How can she refuse?

This is a real fun and smutty read with some great sexy scenes. I really enjoyed it.

No fue mala pero me pareció más un relato que un libro, para mi le faltó mucha profundidad al tema y a los personajes, fue sólo un poco entretenida, ni fu ni fa!

Note: This ARC was provided by The Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If I had to pinpoint right when the dynamic of our agreement changed, it was right then. As he turned me toward him and pressed my chest to his. When he brushed my hair away from my face. The look in his eyes before he bent forward and pressed an honest to god kiss on my lips that made my entire body tense and relax before buzzing with excitement.

Dawn Sims and Warner Green have known each other since they were fourteen but aren't exactly what you would call "friends". He calls her "Bunny" because of the overbite she was sporting when he first sees her and she calls him "Wardo" because she's always thought of him as weird (and because she mispronounced "weirdo" the first time she gave him the nickname). Even when they get on each other's nerves, they're constantly aware of each other's presence.

Amid all the teasing and back and forth, Wardo has always had a thing for Dawn but he's never really done much about it (other than get on her nerves), and while Dawn isn't oblivious to On the night of their high school prom, Wardo ends up being Dawn's date. What could have been an opportunity for Wardo to confess to Dawn his feelings goes awry, no thanks to Wardo's nerves. Fate has other plans and their lives, especially Wardo's, go in different directions.

A few years later, Wardo and Dawn end up having class together in night school. He thinks that she's still the same girl from high school, the one who was too uptight and thought she was too good for him. She thinks he's still the same guy from high school, the one who went of his way to embarrass her and had no filter whatsoever. When Wardo reads the historical erotica that Dawn's written, he lets her know exactly what he thinks and offers his "services".

What follows are sessions wherein Wardo shows Dawn what true pleasure is all about, whether it involves Dawn on her own or Dawn with another person, specifically Wardo. He's surprised that his Bunny actually has a naughty side to her. Heck, she isn't just naughty; she's downright dirty. Dawn's surprised that Wardo is able to make her do things she never thought possible. As they spend more time together, the more the connection between them grows stronger.

Things between Wardo and Dawn appear to be heading in a direction Dawn never expected but one that Wardo used to hope for. But then Wardo's past catches up with him in a manner that makes it difficult for him to keep it secret for much longer. When Wardo confesses his darkest secret, will Dawn turn her back and leave him behind again and will Dawn finally realize that what's going between the two of them is so much more than for authentication purposes?

For Authentication Purposes is the second book by author Amber L. Johnson that I've had the honor to read and review and while I liked the first one (five stars!), I must admit that this one had me falling in love with all things WarNy...or maybe we should go with BunDo? How about WarDaw for those who aren't into the Wardo and Bunny nicknames? Well, whatever combination may be, I was absolutely smitten with these two and couldn't get enough of either of them.

This book never failed to surprise me and I totally mean that in a good way. I snickered and yes, I even snorted a time or two (or more) because I loved how the humor felt honest and real. Nothing was watered down or made to feel politically correct. In the middle of all the laughs, there are quite a number of sweet and tender moments that are able to highlight that this was always more than just some agreement between two people who were always meant to be.

Above all else, I adored For Authentication Purposes because, aside from the humor, it had heart. On the surface, this may look like an adult version of the boy who pulls the hair of the girl he likes but it's way more than that. It's about opening your eyes to the possibilities, recognizing that not all love stories are written the same way, and that even lessons learned during trying times can be worth passing on (right, Bunny?). This is a 2015 favorite and gets five-plus stars! ♥

Ok...I totally devoured his book in one sitting. Talk about hotter than hot! Wow! It was incredibly detailed... That I just had to read certain parts twice!!...lol because it was just that good!!..
I really love this authors writing. Her stories just seem to work for me. I've read all her books except two. And I really need to jump on those other two cause I don't want to miss out!
This book is certainly different... Waaaayyy different than her other books that I've read. Which is a good thing. I know whenever I pick up one of her books to read... I'm going to get something really good to read.
The synopsis pretty much says it all so I'm going to just jump right into my review.
I was really worried at the start of the book! Dawn's book she was writing was pretty bad! My eyes nearly popped out she started writing things like "pebbled love button" or "aroused flower". I was thinking to myself... Oh god no! Please don't let it be like this throughout the whole book! (Don't worry... It's not!!)
I like Dawn... A lot. She went with the flow with things. She didn't really have any big hang up's with things. She just needs to be taught how to please herself. She never experience that earth shattering can't get enough of someone before. So when Warner found out about her book. She totally was in for the ride of her life!...lol
I found Warner aka "Wardo" to be extremely frustrating. I wasn't really feeling him. He seemed to be straddling two sides. One where he really wanted to let go with Dawn and another where he was holding back and being kind of standoffish. He was so hot and cold.
I found what they did to be such a turn on. Warner letting Dawn explore her sexuality. Getting her to open up and let loose.
But... It was kind of getting old (Only self pleasuring). 52% in and still nothing. I felt that things should have progressed way further than that.
And... We still don't know that much about Warner. But little bits and pieces. But, when his secret finally was revealed at 59%. Things started to click in my head. He was doing the same exact thing that was done to him with Dawn. ( which I found a little creepy) it was like he was trying to recreate what he was taught by that other person. Which I think for me... Wouldn't have been so creepy if he would have just talked to Dawn about it... Instead of teaching her lessons.
I felt like this book just needed to step it up. It was starting to drag a little bit. Other than the really hot and steamy scenes in this book. I was having a really hard time connecting with these characters. I didn't really feel a real connection until 88% in.
Overall... I did enjoy this book. I just couldn't put this book down in certain place. I found certain parts of this book to drag on.
More than anything... I wanted to feel the connection between Dawn and Warner. And, not just the lust between them. I wanted to feel the characters come together. That didn't happen for me until 82% in.
That's a little too late in my opinion. But despite all that I just said... I still couldn't put this book down.

Reviewed by Dawn Vickers on behalf of Kindle Friends Forever.

Dawn and Warner are fourteen when they first met. He thinks she doesn't feel the same way as he does for her so they go their separate ways. Years pass by. Now she’s studying her degree in English, has a day job, and also writes erotic romances.

When they both end up doing the same college course where she hopes to develop her writing, the last thing she expects is to see Warner in her night class looking drop-dead sexy!! Snooping on her computer, she discovers her secret while reading through her notes, and realises she has no actual real life experience regarding the things she writes about. Seeing his chance, he offers to teach her things she can incorporate into her books with no strings attached! She’s never had a relationship but she’s read enough books to know what’s what… or so she thinks! Even though self-doubt starts to take over, she still agrees. After all, it is just for Authentication Purposes! She becomes his ‘student’ and he gets to be with Dawn. Something he’s dreamed of for years.

So the fun begins. They agree to live out their sexual fantasies with each other, she’s confident he can teach her lots new things in the bedroom and doesn’t doubt his skills for one second. The more time they spend together, the more they fall for each other. What started out as a no strings arrangement now feels like so much more.

Dawn wonders what happened in Warner’s life; the years between. He’s not one for opening up but then the past comes back like it always does and bites him on the backside!

This book was great! Very funny in places and had me in stitches, but it’s also sweet love story. It’s incredibly sexy and steamy, too. This author can write a bloody good sex scene! I loved it and will certainly be looking out for this author in the future.
