Ant had been gone for almost two months and I missed him so much. I heard from him every once in a while because when he was on that water he hardly had service. I think since he had been gone I had spoken to him only twice and it didn’t take long before the line went dead. I hadn’t been feeling well for the past couple weeks and decided to go to the doctor for what I assumed was some lil stomach virus I couldn’t shake. I signed in and had a seat in the waiting room. While I was sitting in the waiting room I overheard a girl talking to her mom and it put me on edge a bit. “I told you that fuckin’ boy wasn’t gonna be there for you and that baby! Antoine ain’t nothing but a nigga out there playing games!” her mom said. “Mom he does loves me! I spoke to Caramel and she said that Shine told her that Ant is offshore and that might be why I haven’t been able to reach him. You’ll see, he will take care of us,” the young girl said. When I looked at her stomach she looked to be about six months pregnant. I wondered what she was doing her in this office because my doctor was a general practitioner, not an obstetrician. The nurse called a Shirley Castle and the older woman went to the back office so I guess the girl was there to keep her mom company. As she rubbed her stomach she smiled as the baby moved about. She saw me watching and asked, “What the fuck you lookin’ at?” “I was just wondering how far along you were and I apologize if I was staring,” I said. “How far I am is noneya because unless this is your baby, you need not worry about it,” the young girl said with an attitude. “Can I ask you something please?” I asked. “What the fuck could you possibly have to ask me? Do you know me or something?” she asked. “No I’m sorry for eavesdropping but I overheard you and your mom talking about someone named Antoine. I was just wondering if he was your baby’s daddy?” I asked. “What’s it to ya?” she asked staring at me like I had lost my mind. “I have a boyfriend named Antoine but we call him Ant and he works offshore too. He has a friend named Shine also and that’s why I asked,” I said. “Hold up! What the fuck you just say?” she asked. “I said I have a boyfriend named Antoine,” I said again. “Don’t mean he’s my Antoine! They must have a lotta Antoine’s out here; this ah big ass city yea!” the girl said. “You’re right, but what if it is the same man?” I asked. “What does he look like?” she asked. “About six one, brown skin, and he has a diamond grill in his mouth. Oh yea and he drives a 2012 Monte Carlo, a blue one,” I said. All of a sudden her face turned up as if she were fighting back tears. I didn’t mean to upset her but I wanted to know if Ant was indeed her baby’s daddy. I wanted to feel bad for her but after the way she just mouthed off to me I wasn’t fixin’ to apologize for how she felt. The nurse called my name to the back and I stood up and went through the door. After my vitals were taken the nurse gave me a cup and asked for a urine sample. I went to the bathroom and peed in the cup. I brought the cup back out after having written my name on it and handed the sample to the nurse. She led me to the exam room where I sat and waited for my doctor to enter. After waiting 25 minutes Dr. Mason entered the room and reviewed my chart.
"That baby ain't mine' get used to hearing that alot.
Story starts with a bang and then a whole lotta sex, drama, babies, sex and more drama on top of drama. This is a story that can prolly ring true for a bunch of young single moms out there.
Yea the sex might be great when you are getting down and dirty but consequences, accidents, and surprises do happen. The only good thing to come out of this is that noone wound up with STDs but that a writers prerogative, in real life ppl might not be so lucky.
Warning plenty of baby daddy drama, slang and it does end with a cliffhanger.
Got this as an Amazon 'kindle' freebie started reading and couldn't put it down. Was a tad different from my normal reads but I did enjoy it for what it was. There were some errors so needs another editing go, but otherwise good plot realistic even can imagine this as a drama show on tv.
So much drama and 1 person is to blame for it, how do you cross off your friends by making them enemies? Well Ant has the answers and he's taking names and causing havoc, into book 2!
There were some errors and the names of the twins changed closer to the end of the book so I wasn't sure which was right. Ant wasn't worth a damn from the jump. I knew Shaniqua would be hot in the ass just from her approach. You would think with Ant being older he would think of all the consequences that came along with his actions. Shaniqua was too naïve and grown as hell. I thought for sure her mom would straight beat her and Ant's ass. No matter how many things were presented to Shaniqua about Ant, it seemed as if she was too blinded by a nonexistent relationship. I liked Caramel and Shine's relationship because he treated her with a lot of respect and stepped up to handle his responsibilities. Luke seemed like a decent dude as well but Jessica was straight trifling. I didn't even feel bad because she was down right dirty for what she did. Megan and Shaniqua were straight gone off the sex and I wanted to punch both of them for being so damn stupid. Taylor got a little bit more than what she bargained for as well. She seemed like the only one that saw right through Ant's mess. I couldn't understand how Ant always tried blaming the chicks he dealt with when things didn't go as he planned. His irresponsible ass didn't even ask the necessary questions before he decided to lay pipe with his nasty ass. I thought for sure these chicks would end up with something because they didn't make Ant take the necessary precautions. The only thing I didn't like about Caramel was the fact that she felt she needed to tell Ant to take care of his responsibilities. She knew first hand how her so called best friend was and should've stayed out of what didn't concern her. Ant deserved both of those ass cuttings he received because he always took things overboard. I feel sorry for Rachel!!! I'm ready for part 2 because Ant may have found himself in a situation for constantly being a dirty lay. Who pulled the trigger, has all the girls involved with Ant learned their lessons, how many more lives will Ant destroy with his ways, will Ant ever clean up his act, and just how many more baby mommas will come out?
I was very excited that this wasn't a typical urban fiction book: that is to say there was no drug dealers, fancy cars, or ridiculous fantasies. Having said all that, it still wasn't a good story.
The book started out fairly good, although I'm tired of every offering in this genre insulting readers by writing the female characters as utter fools. Yes, Shaniqua was only 16, however the story initially led us to believe she had a pretty strict Mom. This same Mother goes on to allow her minor daughter to knowingly date a grown man. I won't spoil the book for those who still choose to purchase. Let's just say the believability factor only goes down from there.
Do I think this author is talented? Definitely. Do I think she can do better? Hopefully. Readers are either getting younger, (as are the writers), or they think we are all 22 and younger.
In closing I will say I'm no longer supporting the publishers of these unnecessary sequels. The content, nor the length of this book requires it to be three parts! I suggest newer authors go back and read the classics of this genre. It is quite possible to write a great, full bodied story in one book; I've read hundreds over the years.
Just when I think I know my girl Melissa she goes and does something totally unexpected. This book had me stuck. I couldn't wrap my mind around the things that were going on in this book. This is hands down on of the most ratchet and realistic books I've ever read. Ant wasn't about nothing. He mad me literally laugh at his childish antics and his views on these babies and the women he impregnated. Shaniqua is clearly bout dumb as they come and Megan as well. I totally get that they were young but to me that's no excuse either. Shirley reminded me of my mother and she had every right to threaten shaniqua. Just think if she would've gotten whoopings more as a kid, she might've turned out different. I liked caramel and shine relationship but caramel was to nosy for me. Taylor and Jessica are hoes too. I didn't feel bad when Jessica got beat up she deserved it. The editing on this book was not good. He or she needs to go back over this. The disrespect towards their parents didn't fly with me. Interesting read I guess ill read part 2 now.
I wanted to cry when this booked ended it was just that GOOD
This Lady wrote the Hell out of this book. At least one out of every 10 girls will meet a negro like Ant, that is all about self.Shaniqua was just a Lil young dumb and smelling herself little girl that thought she knew everything until life slapped her in the face. Shine was really a stand-up Man that took care of his responsibilities. I felt sorry for Luke because he really did love Jessica's behind. What will it take for Any to grow up a start facing his responsibilities? Impatiently waiting on Part 2
This book was hella different then I thought it was going to be.But it was hella good.Wow I can't believe Antoine was truly a DOG!!!! I felt bad for Shanique but then again no because she was just dumb as hell(mother knows best).Im glad Mel didn't have to go they that, she got a good man 4real.Im so damn glad that Antoine is getting Karma like he is,and Megan is a dumb ass 4real.That ending was hella good.I can't wait to start part two
Good read! You really can't go wrong reading a book by Lady Lissa! Ant & all these kids!--from Shanique to Megan & now the newest addition...Shanique finally witnessed the real Ant & how he really feels about her--he really told her. I wonder what she's going to do now with 3 kids-hopefully she will finish school... Informative read with good storyline has me ready for part 2!
Ant needs his d!ck cut off. He did Shaniqua bad. He only stay with Megan cause she has a nice place. Hopefully Lucky will be man enough to take care of the twin that's is Ant's. Glad Shine finally realized he needed to cut his friendship with Ant off. Shine is an excellent father to his daughter by Mel
Talk about drama this book has lots of it. .Antoine is a hot mess. He's a handsome young man, with a good job but cares about no one in the world. He has it all. I’m not a fan of young girls dating older men but the storyline kept my attention. There was a few error but it did not take away from the story.
This was a good book. Ant was something else. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a good drama story. First book I read by Lady Lissa and I must say it wont be my last. I really enjoyed this book. Keep up the good work...
Ant is so childish. I knew he wasn't nothing when he was flirting with a 16 year old girl. I really though his payback was going to be A disease or something. Can't wait to see who "karma" is.
