I've been waiting for a good book of film criticism to read, and this one definitely hits the spot. A reissue from a book originally released in the 1960s, Persistence of Vision shares fascinating insights from the history of film before and up until the late 60s. Some of the reviews were a little too abstract (looking at particular, the review of the Cocteau film Orpheus), but overall I found this to be a fulfilling read.
