Author Othen Donald Dale Cummings was raised in the countryside on the outskirts of a small town called Pryor Creek, where he spent his childhood happily doing daily chores and playing outdoors on a little farm nestled in a valley and surrounded by rolling hills.
Some of his favorite memories growing up are hiking to his friends' houses, sledding down the big hill after a deep winter snow, riding horses until dusk, and even helping to look after a family of rescue tigers and escorting them to his small country school. The latter being quite an experience for a young farm boy!
Later in life he started care-giving for his elderly mom and it was during that time he began his adventure into publishing. Othen currently has published many different genres of literature under a variety of pen names and also has a line of coloring books, notebooks, and sketchbooks.

I read this book aloud while my dogs listened. They enjoyed it so much. They loved the meowing, the barking, and the whistling. This book gives out commands. You are expected to follow. Some of the commands are just to make a noise. I meowed, barked, whistled, pretending to be a train. Some of the commands are actions such as snapping, clapping or stomping. I don't see how anyone could dislike this book! It's so much fun. There aren't illustrations, but you don't need any. This is an ACTION book. Read it out loud to your kids or dogs and watch as they go wild! My dogs had a great time. The made noise along with me and jumped into my lap. We all love it!

Let the good times roll, boy and girls! The Book of Noise! from Othen Donald Dale Cummings comes compete with its own (in this case necessary) apostrophe. This book is for children, and getting those children to make ... noise.

You children, and their friends, will soon be laughing and shouting. Children everywhere will love this book, which requires them to participate in the fun, not sit quietly. Kids will bark like dogs, quack like ducks, act out scenarios, and fill with joy.

A great book even for classrooms. Reading it will make a grownup turn into a kid again.

I bought this fun book for my grandson. He loved it – so did I! It was full of humor and you can’t get through it without laughing out loud. I highly recommend for your little ones, and those just learning how to read. I highly recommend!!

This book is guaranteed to make every single child and grown-up who reads it laugh out loud. In fact, very loud. Parents and children alike will literally whinny and chirp and argh while reading, or rather shouting, this book. This is a clever concept and a joyous read. More please!

'The Book of Noise!' by Othen Donald Dale Cummings is a funny children's book that encourages them to get better at reading and using their imagination and...to make noise. Great book for young children (parents leave the room or cover your ears).
