¡Bienvenido a la revolución!
OMG, I’ve been in my dystopian era since December, and this one HITS THE MARK! This book was beyond amazing, it was inspirational, emotional, and powerful! This story says mírame para verte a ti mismo, look at me to see yourself. This is a beautifully and powerfully written Spanglish dystopian sci-fi fantasy that everyone NEEDS to read!
My favorite part is how this book represents OUR people! The Latinx culture is felt throughout, especially when you see your mami, papi, abuela, y hermanas in every character. The integration of Spanglish made me feel at home and reminded me just how strong our people are! 💪
This follows Fhear, someone who’s had everything taken from her, tossed out and forgotten. But what happens when you take everything from someone? You give them the strength to fight back against the people who once had power over them. And Fhear does EXACTLY that! She’s fierce, intelligent, calculating, and the fire that the people need! The MMC is secretive and makes you wonder if you can trust him, but once you do? He’s protective and will do anything to keep her safe. I love these two together, they remind me of my own relationship: strong, trusting, and supportive! ❤️
You feel the intensity of the lower class fighting to be seen, fighting for MORE in this life. You see Fhear become that spark for them, but you also feel every emotion and how it takes a toll on her. There is SO much depth to this story.
I loved the blend of sci-fi and fantasy! The world-building focuses on the sci-fi aspects with Dyson spheres and the fight over the network that controls their world. Then you get the fantasy with the elite being fae and watching fae politics unfold! It’s such a unique combination!
I cannot WAIT for book 2! @lygiawrites, I need this ASAP because you can’t leave me hanging like that with that ending!! 😭

I got this as an ARC from the author herself.
Here are my thoughts
Definitely got the space Spanish soap opera vibes.
There was a big bang in the beginning then went a little slow for me ended with me in frustration (in a good way).
I was laughing, groaning and frustration, moving hands in the air and smiling while reading.
Description was great, could picture the scenes as I read.
Felt some of the emotional scenes
Related to some of the struggles and moments throughout this book.
You do end up rutting for Fhear and her family.
For the underdogs.
There were twist I didn’t see coming as well.
Overall great book
MFC- Fhear is our Spanish warrior.
She wanted to start a revolution, to change the world.
Girl is fierce, broken, determine and strong
MMC- Jade is just trying to find his place and lead the right way.
He is stubborned, loyal, protective and perceptive.
Then there are our side characters
Love most of them, they had wit, Sass and strength
Liked 1 of them
Then there’s the villain who in my opinion isn’t a villain just a jerk with an ego.
Can’t wait for book 2. I know the villain gets there.
If not then I will go into the book and do it for everyone.

Fhear’s Fury delivers a unique take on dystopian sci-fi with a Spanglish twist that sets the world apart from anything else I’ve read. From the beginning, the concept hooked me — an Afro-Latina scientist heroine navigating betrayal, rebellion, and a complex political landscape. The premise is incredibly strong and the imagination behind the worldbuilding really shines.
One of the biggest highlights for me was the descriptive writing. The author does a fantastic job painting the environment and characters so vividly that it was easy to picture the settings, technology, and people. The Spanglish dialogue initially caught me off guard, but it quickly became one of my favorite elements of the story. It added authenticity and depth to the characters in a way that felt fresh and culturally rich.
The dynamic between Mason (MMC) and his brothers was another standout. Their loyalty to each other — and eventually to Fhear — created some of the most compelling relationship moments in the book. I loved seeing how they came together to support her.
My main critique comes down to pacing and structure. The story is packed with big ideas, political intrigue, and fascinating concepts (especially the Dyson sphere and the broader world mechanics), but because so much happens in a single book, some of those elements felt rushed. I often found myself wishing the story had been split into two — or even three — books to allow more time to explore the world, the rebellion, and the character development. Mason’s feelings for Fhear also progressed a bit quickly for me, though I still enjoyed their overall dynamic. But I guess that’s a good problem? I just wanted more!
Ultimate, the creativity and originality of this story really stood out. The foundation of the world and characters is incredibly intriguing, and I’d absolutely return to this universe to see it explored even further. Book 2?!

This book had so much potential. I love the premise and the FMC. The story started out so interesting and the entire concept of the book is brilliant. But the execution.
1. There were just so many issues that I tried to initially ignore, but just can't. This book needs a really good editor. So many little things - she's in one color dress and the next page it's a different color. Someone was on the ground and next second they are walking into the room. She also calls her father two different names. There are soooo many times things didn't add up. This book felt like a first draft and could've been awesome with some editing.
2. The insta-love was hard for me. It was difficult to tell throughout the book how much time had actually passed. They were willing to die for each other and he was willing to give up his whole way of life for her, but they've had like 3 conversations and none of them particularly substantive.
3. I found the dialogue a bit cheesey. I'm all for girl power, but the conversations between some of the women felt a bit forced and repetitive. The dialogue between the MMC and FMC also felt a little cheesey and cringey.
Overall, I really wanted to like this book and I think the author had such a great idea. It could have been great, but it fell flat for me because of all the distracting issues and dialogue.

A Spanglish dystopian Space Opera.... say less. The beginning starts off with a bang with the FMC being betrayed in every way imaginable by her fiance quite literally devastating her and destroying her life. Thjs forces her to rwinvent hwrswlf and join a rebel group. I loved that the FMC is an Afro-Latina scientist bad azz that is forced to be strong and resilient. Then you have the MMC Mason who falls fast and harder and quickly becomes obsessed with Fhear even if it means blowing up his own world to be with her.
I found the world building and Dyson sphere concept very intriguing and how the different sectors engaged in the engineering and operations. Of course there comes a lot of drama and political.intrigue about who dominates and controls the resources and powers. So it was definitely very Sci-fi vibes for sure once Fhear comes into her full potential kind of reminded me of rhe movie Lucy and untapping the full brains potential. So definitely reccomend if this is your vibe.

Accessible fantasy book if you're trying to get into fantasy. The worldbuilding was descriptive and really painted the picture of technological advances if you lived in the right sector. Fhear's journey was full of deception, and I'm not sure if I understand the direction of the revolution. Perhaps since it's the first book, you have to keep reading, and things will develop over time.

Fhear thought she found the man of her dreams in Cal but little did she know her world would change with just a look. Cal crushed her world. She was broken. She stayed in hiding plotting her revenge. But when she comes out of hiding she meets Jade. And she didn’t know then that her world would be flipped upside down yet again. Is she strong enough to survive everything she’s been through? Could she learn to love again? Can she stay true to herself through it all?

This book was a vibe read for me. I loved the premise of the story, a spanglish speaking powerful latina FMC to save the world. It had both lovers to enemies and enemy's to lovers storylines. Found family and saving the world. All things I enjoy. 3.5 stars for me, rounded up to 4 since theres no half ratings.
