What I liked:
-Plot. The idea behind this series is pretty interesting, and I like that it appears that each book is a new story in the same series featuring the same character, not necessarily always a continuation off the last book. There’s a chance to see lots of new places and adventures.

What I disliked:
-Babies. I don’t know what the deal is with this author, but they add babies to their stories way too often and being a mother myself, it makes me feel very uncomfortable to read stories where children are abandoned, left for dead, or taken over by spirits and never allowed to have lives of their own. Completely unnecessary and alienating to probably a large portion of her readers.
-Quality. Her books feel very cheap and mass produced, like she just wants to write and publish as many as she can as fast as she can. There’s very little effort and quite a few editing errors that could have easily been caught with a quick proof read. They’re only about 5,000 words long—it would have taken ten minutes to go through and edit. Disappointing that she doesn’t seem to care about the quality of her work.

Overall, it wasn’t the worst book I’ve read by this author, but it wasn’t great and I’d definitely never pay for it or any of the sequels. I dislike the addition of children to these stories as it makes me feel uncomfortable. For free, it’s not a complete waste of time, but don’t pay for it. You won’t be missing anything. 1.5
