She Belongs to Him

Rate this book
I took the job because I needed the money.

I didn't expect the interview to be in a mansion like that.
I definitely didn't expect the man opening the door to be Nico Caruso.

Four years ago, he bought one night with me, and I've never forgotten the way he put his hands on me.
The way he watched me come apart for him.
The way a man like Nico takes what he wants without ever raising his voice.
I was supposed to forget him when the night was over.

I didn't.

Now I'm in his house, caring for his mother, keeping my mouth shut, and praying he never remembers the woman he had in his bed.

But Nico doesn't stay uninterested for long.
One minute I'm trying to keep my distance.
The next I'm bent over his kitchen table with my panties at my thighs, taking his spanking and counting every swat while he makes me promise I'll never skip meals again.

Because if Nico recognizes me, the secret I've killed myself to protect won't stay mine.

I had his child.

And if he finds out, I don't know whether he'll make me pay for lying to him... or claim what's his and dare me to try to stop him.

Author's She Belongs to Him includes dominance, spanking, explicit sexual content, power imbalance, and a possessive hero. If that's not your thing, skip this one.

Thoughtful with good characters and a solid story…

The story is solid and I won’t go into the plot since there is a perfectly good “blurb” introducing the storyline. What seems most remarkable to me at least, is the beautiful way the relationships mature as the characters interact. It’s not love at first sight for any of the characters. The love grows through connection, through experiencing each other over the course of the story. Sometimes with this genre one of the characters is too good to be true in order to accept the criminal life or the obsessiveness of the MMC or the sassiness or unpredictability of the FMC. This author didn’t allow that to happen. Each of the main characters had dimensions and they came to their HEA in realistic ways, at least in my opinion. The supporting characters - the nonna, the impulsive brother, the toddler - while not as fully developed as the two main characters, still had dimensions and because of that they did more than just move the story forward or act as foils for the mains. I liked that the FMC acknowledged that she wanted to be finally taken care of instead of being the one who held everyone in her world together. To me that showed strength more than demanding to be his equal in all things since her backstory led her to this place of honesty. Be aware of trigger warnings including stalking, spanking and off page criminal behavior. Otherwise, enjoy the read.

I wish we'd actually had the conversations instead of just "we talked about [topic, topic, and topic] and got to know we get along" and "[daughter] liked [MMC]." I feel like actually reading those scenes would have helped in understanding why they fell in love.

The sex scenes had far more detail than the getting to know each other instead of "we had sex frequently."

Considering the subject, you'd think the story would have more angst, but it barely has any problems. Everyone is so unquestionably understanding and accepting.

loved it…

A relationship that grows into something beautiful. Nico provides and looks after his family but doesn’t take time to have one himself. Nova is living with too much guilt and trying to be a good mother for her three year old. Also giving to her mother money she can ill afford. Then the unexpected happens. They meet again when Nova went to an interview to be a companion to his mother. He didn’t recognise her but Nova does as the father of her daughter. What happens next is a beautiful love story filled with tension, dominance and surrender. A must read.

I liked this book. It had just the right amount of strife but not dragged out. I’ll admit that it was strange for a Dom not to get angry or question her past but in the end it was sweet
