“Sydney, order up for table two!” Who knew the road to Hollywood would be so glamorous. I’ve been working in this diner for months. My feet hurt. My arms ache. But slowly, I’m putting money away. I’ll get to California. I refuse to wind up like my mother. Head down. Work hard. Save money. It’s all going according to plan, until Jake Bishop walks in to the diner…
In his game, everyone’s a pawn…
“Can I get you anything else, gentlemen?” she asked with a smile. I had to touch her. I had to have her. Girls like Sydney are rare. And I will make her mine—whatever the cost. No one will get in my way.
…and he’s never lost a game.
Dark Bishop is unsuitable for those under the age of eighteen due to adult language and situations. It is part of serial series, which means that each part consists of approximately 15-20,000 words. Each part will build upon the last, much like the episodes of a television series. It is important to read the parts in order.

what in the h e double hockey sticks did I just read?? I'm hooked like an addict! I literally couldn't put this book down, I was given an ARC of the whole series and MY GOD it's a must read. don't get me wrong, this book needs a good warning label. like read at your own risk, or dark suspenseful mind twisted dead ahead! these two amazing authors rocked the dark and twisty read. it was amazing and well just breathtaking to read. the suspense through out kept my pulse rate up and the writing kept me turning the pages. well done!
All I can Say is WOW!! Casey Bond and Rachael Brownell did an amazing job writing this series!! This is a Dark read with twists!! Each part (there are 5 Parts) of the series gets better and better as it goes on.. You will never see some things coming! Especially the ending.. It left me cringing and heartbroken for Sydney!! But I Loved every minute of reading it. I hope Casey and Rachael continue writing together!!
First of all WOW! And that won't even say enough. This book is super awesome, like I could not believe how good it is. Although it says part one, I will be reviewing all 5 parts because I was lucky to receive all 5 parts in exchange for an honest review. And boy am I glad I got all 5 parts because once you read part one you will want to keep reading, it is that good, it hooks you and you just need to keep going. The end: Holy crap! I was like OMG! I cannot believe it, genius, totally genius! I loved how the author(s) worked it and how you think one thing then BANG, you get hit with something else completely different, total mindf*ck if you ask me. This story is dark, really dark and believe me, not everyone will like it but I LOVED it! This is not a predictable story, it is also not your average romance with a HEA, NOPE, not that kind of story. But it is so good and incredible. Definitely my kind of read, dark, intense, mysterious and not predictable, trust me, you will NOT be able to predict the end. Recommended if you like your stories to be on the dark side.
This dark, alluring and mind-blowing story is not for the faint of heart! Mature readers, strap on your emotional armor and get ready to wade through the twisted and sticky mind of a psychopath. I enjoyed how the authors allowed us to experience first-hand what each of the characters was thinking, feeling and doing. This offered a unique vantage point. I like knowing what makes the "bad guy" tick and what makes the "good girl" stay. Just like in a scary movie, though, I found myself willing her to run and hoping that he would change his evil ways before it's too late. But this story doesn't end like you might think it will. It blew my mind and left me reeling. This is a seriously great read for anyone who likes intense, edge-of-your-seat suspense. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series!
I don't even know how to form the correct words to do this serial any sort of justice. I'm not sure the world is ready for Jake Bishop. I know I wasn't!
add 4/28 - It's no secret that I stalk Casey Bond like crazy. I love not only her writing, but the beautiful person she is as well and I am honored to be able to call her my friend. Rachael Brownell however is a new author to me. Let me just say, THESE TWO KILLED IT! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dark Bishop!! Jake .... the world is just not ready for Jake Bishop. Sydney .... so young, so naive. Dark Bishop is dark, twisted, suspenseful, a thriller & a MUST read!
Rachael, that whole dream near the end - AHHHH!!! I had to stop myself from throwing my kindle. GRRRR woman! Casey, I will NEVER, I repeat, NEVER go out to eat at a diner with you alone!

What just happened?? This story took me completely by surprise. I don't know how Brownell & Bond did it, but I actually love a true villain. Bishop surprised me. You get to know him right from the start, but it didn't stop me from being attracted to him. This story was sweet and heartwarming one minute and then dark and life threatening the next! The story is told in the two main characters point of views. So I got an inside look into their motives and their secret thoughts. I also appreciate that it wasn't left with a cliff hanger. We got a true ending to this part of the story. I do know it will continue and I can't wait to get my hands on the next part. I can't wait to follow Bishop on his next conquest.
Bishop is a character I loved to hate and hate admitting that I love him!
Jake Bishop is a rich, first class attorney. He has a dark, twisted mind. He always plays by his rules. And, Sydney is his new target. Sydney wants to live her Hollywood dream. She’s a beautiful, hard working woman. She is a down-to-earth person. And, she falls for Jake’s charm. But, she doesn’t realize that she is flirting with danger! This is an amazing read. The angst is almost unbearable! Just when you think you know where this story is going to go...wham you’re hit with another twist. It's so hard to review this series without spoiling anything. You really do need to go in completely blind and enjoy the roller coaster for what it is. I can’t wait for part two. I received an advanced copy from United Indie Book Blog for my honest review.
"Dark Bishop, Part One: Pawn" by Casey L. Bond and Rachael Brownell is a dark suspenseful romance that will leave you wanting to know what comes next!
Sydney is a small town girl with hopes to make it big in Hollywood but due to money problems stops off in New Orleans and works a dead end job at a diner. When Jake Bishop walks in she thinks her Prince Charming has shown up, and as a high powered attorney he can provide her with lots of things she desires, but for a price.
OMG I need to know the rest of this story right now!!!
So derp on my part and i am reading the paperback only to realize that i have alllllll the sets #bwhahahahaha So for the first half, awesome and I am just now going to try to figure out how to do this O.O might have to come back and review after finishing, i already am past part one and two both were amazing can't wait for more!
So silly me thought that this was the page for the full book (nooooo) this is just for part 1 out of 5 and since i read it as a fully set All I can say is start this ;) I am going to post my full length review on the entire book on amazon
My sister has been bugging me to read this book and I finally picked it up to reads it. I am in shock at the darkness this book holds. I loved it! I did however keep yelling at the book cause she was so naive. I do believe i may be traumatized me for life! Great book. Hope this will be a series. Would have been a 5 * but were way to many errors for my liking.
Disgusting, violent, and objective to women. Loving Jake Bishop makes no sense to me. Writing a character absurd is only slightly more horrifying than liking the books. Very sorry to write such a review, but I was disturbed to my core within the first 5 chapters. An automatic do not finish or recommend to anyone.
In Part 1 of the Dark Bishop novellas, Bond and Brownell set the tone for the books to come. Jake TEASERS MORE SO THAN SPOILERS
Bishop is a bad man with no evident redeeming qualities. He meets the medical definition of a psychopath, a person with an antisocial personality disorder, especially one manifested in perverted, criminal, or amoral behavior. * It becomes clear early on that this is no fairy tale romance. After all, how can Jake love when he considers himself above everyone else and considers all of life to be a game. Obviously, be believes himself to be the best player.
Sydney is a small town girl who falls under Bishop’s spell. Her dream, like so many others, is to be a Hollywood star. She is quite literally hungry and has no prospects. Then, Bishop walks into her life. Suddenly, she can see what her life could possibly be with Jake. Under the influence of Jake’s whims, Sydney does not realize that she is, thus far, one of his pawns: someone who is used or manipulated to further another person’s purposes. **
There is no predicting what the next novellas will bring until they are read. I suggest reading them as soon as possible. I am absolutely hooked on this story and plan to start the second novella right away! I am excited to discover more…
**I received this book from United Indie Book Blog for a honest review.** Dark Bishop The Series is a dark, twisted, romantic (in its own way) suspense series. I totally was not ready for Jake Bishop and his double (triple?) lives. Jake is a lawyer who doesn't mind playing dirty. Sydney is a waitress who hopes one day to be an actress. The story-line and characters are very well developed, love that we get background and some past history on where Sydney came from also a little about Jake. The series is broken up into parts which flow together never breaking up the story. There are so many different twists and turns in the series that I couldn't stop reading it. This is a stay up late and read suspense. I give this book 5 stars.

I was not sure what to expect when I was told this had dark aspects to it.. I was thinking oh a lot of kinky sex maybe... Boy am I glad I was wrong (there is sex but much more than that) and am sucked into this series already! I love the dark I found in this little gem! I always love a good thriller and these ladies are quenching my thirst and making me hungry for more... The characters are intriguing to say the least. And I so want to get into Bishops head... I can't go into too much details with out giving stuff away but I will say if you like to step out of the zone a bit come to the dark side... And check out this one!! I don't think you will be disappointed *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review*
Sydney is just a simple, beautiful girl following her dreams. When she meets Jake Bishop she is take back by how handsome he is. He shows interest in her and before long she is living with him. We not only get to get see the sweet side Jake has with Sydney but we see all of his sides and let me tell you they aren't all pretty. I was hoping he was going to have a redeeming quality about him but he really is a monster. The way he feels about Sydney too is a bit odd but it all makes sense in the end. The sex scenes they were pretty hot but some were a bit disturbing. It's defiantly a suspense book you will be on edge waiting of r it all to blow up in Jake's face. The ending ... totally didn't see all that coming.
Dark Bishop was an intense read that I absolutely could not put down. Needed to know what happen and sleep was not an option until I finished the book. Rachael Brownell & Casey Bond did an incredible job luring the reader in and keeping them so engrossed with their detail and character development.
You want to slap Sydney and make her wake up, to listen to Callie. Writing both points of view was ingenuous, knowing what Jake is thinking and wanting to do and at the end why he does them.
Eager to read the next book of the series. This is my first time reading Rachael Brownell and would love to read other books by her. Casey Bond is an epic author and I have loved every book I have read from her. I know I can't go wrong when I see her name in the title.
It is going to be easier for me to review parts 1-5 together I think.
I loved this serial series. This was my first serial series that I had the pleasure to read the entire thing in one sitting. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Jake Bishop is a dark, tall, and handsome lawyer with a dark "American Psycho" streak running through him like bloody river. I both love him and hate him, which is what I'm sure the authors wanted me to feel. If you enjoy suspense, romance, lies, betrayal, and other topics on that vein, please pick this serial series up today. Quick read, very entertaining!
This is a five part novella series and all 5 novellas are out.
Novella one--PAWN 43 pages. This story is not for the faint of heart. It is a dark, twisted, mind blowing romantic tale. We meet 21 year old Sydney who works at a diner which is a stepping stone to make it to Hollywood some day. This is where she meets Jake Bishop. Jake comes in to the diner and locks eyes with Sydney. He is a very powerful man and gets what he wants and what he wants is Sydney. Will Sydney allow Jake to win her over or will she follow her dream and make it to Hollywood? Will Jake let her go or will he crush her? **reviewed for Kylie's Fiction Addiction**
This is a great start to a dark series. Even though is a short novella the author's did a great job of getting us to know the characters just enough to be intrigued but also know there is so much more to find out.
Sydney is a small town girl looking to make it to Hollywood. Jace is a high profile lawyer that wants Sydney and he always gets what he wants. You learn just enough to know he is dangerous.
There is enough mystery to hold your interest and make you can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Ok u know its bad when there is a grammatical Error on the first page! Not just the first page but the first sentence!!! Here it is ( This is not was what I envisioned.) What! Unless this female character has really bad grammar! I kinda don't know yet,I haven't gotten that far! I'll read a few more pages and see! I make mistakes spelling, typos & grammar all the time! I'm dyslexic! It's going to happen. But for a book to flow the sentence structure and grammar have to be seamless, and so far it's not starting out that way!
