About the author

Margit Sandemo was a Norwegian-Swedish historical fantasy author. She has been the best-selling author in the Nordic Countries since the 1980s, when her novel series of 47 books, The Legend of the Ice People, was published. She has also written many other book series such as Häxmästaren and Legenden om Ljusets rike.

Pewien kompozytor tworzył nuty w ramach eksperymentu z muzyką. Zwykle nie kończył swojej pracy, ale to co stworzył było wystarczające, by obudzić Tengela Złego. Do Hiszpanii zostaje wysłany jeden z Ludzi Lodu, by zniszczył owe nuty. Na Vetlego czeka jednak zagrożenie ze strony Tengela, którego celem jest powstrzymać nastoletniego chłopaka przed wypełnieniem zadania.

Dobra. Nie będę się rozpisywać nad czymś co jest proste jak budowa cepa. Książka była najzwyczajniej w świecie nudna. Akcja wlekła się jak za karę, bardzo łatwo traciłam zainteresowanie i czekałam, kiedy w końcu coś się zacznie dziać. Jak już odpalała się iskierka nadziei, że o tu będzie akcja to została opisana w sposób tak chaotyczny, szybki, że nie było szans się zaangażować. W zasadzie nie wiem czego się spodziewałam, bo jak zapoznałam się z blurbem o czym będzie ten tom to stwierdziłam, że pomysł na tę książkę jest taki sobie, raczej do zapchania, żeby seria była dłuższa.

Bardzo powoli zbliżam się do końca. Mam nadzieję, że już przy końcówce sagi jednak będą tomy, które wciągną i nie będą odgrywały rolę zapychaczy.

Fortsatt andre bøker i serien jeg liker enda bedre, men fortjener virkelig 5 stjerner alikavell. Så sjarmert av Vetle! For en spenende bok, og ble ordentlig rørt mange ganger.

Nie będzie to mój ulubiony tom, nie miał tego czegoś, co najbardziej lubię w Sadze, a co nie do końca umiem opisać słowami. Główny bohater nie był tak charyzmatyczny jak inni bohaterowie Sandemo, chociaż może to wynikać z faktu, że to był w zasadzie nastolatek, a nie dorosły mężczyzna. Sama historia również według mnie do najlepszych nie należała, choć punkt wyjścia miała ciekawy. Nie do końca pasuje mi też to, że Saga dochodzi do współczesności, jednakże jest to jedynie moja preferencja, gdyż wolę czytać w tego typu książkach o czasach mi dalszych niż bliższych. Teraz trzeba się będzie jednak przyzwyczaić do tego, że Ludzie Lodu wchodzą w nową epokę, nie tylko jeśli chodzi o losy rodu.

Nem igazán kötött le Vetle küldetése – már rájöttem, hogy a gonsoz Tengellel való párbajokat kissé túlzónak érzem.
Ebben a kötetben a kisfiú viselkedése tetszett legjobban, megint egy újfajta főhőst kaptunk, aki hű maradt önmagához, egyéniség volt és maradt.

One of my most disliked books in the series. Been literally forcing myself to read it.

Sure beginning sounds interesting but it only gets worse.

It's just so dull, plus Spanish setting really doesn't fit this series. Very boring and over the top. I did not like Vetle all that much, but it might change.

This is one of the books in the series that I like the least. It is still "Isfolket" and I like it because we get another chunk of both the Isfolket saga and world history. The first world war. But I do NOT like it because Sandemo goes over the top in her usual depreciation of Christians and especially those who work with religion in some way (nuns, priests...). I think it is rude, almost blasphemous to spread these kinds of rumours about nuns. I suppose EVERYTHING has happened at some time or other in world history, the things that Sandemo decribes happening in nunneries as well. But she wants us to believe that it is common, that ALL nuns are hypocrats hiding a perverse sexuality. In fact it made me sick.

Fjortonåriga Vetle får i uppdrag att ta sig igenom första världskrigets Europa när en trollstämd musik väcker Tengel den onde. Vetles uppdrag är att förstöra noterna innan musiken får Tengel den onde att stiga upp från sitt gömställe.

Att utan språkkunskaper och ensam ta sig igenom stridande soldater och många länder är inte det lättaste för Vetle. Men när Tengel den onde får reda på vad som håller på att ske, skickar han en av sina medhjälpare för att stoppa Vetle.

Det här var en riktigt, riktigt spännande bok. Läs den!

Wanderings in Darkness
On big Spanish swamps Las Marismas in old castle lived a composer - amateur, who experimated with dodecophonic music. He had never ended his "piece", but just few tunes written and played on flute were enough to wake up Tengel the Evil. Ice People in great rush sent Vetle, one of the youngest members of family, to destroy the notes, before the disaster happens. But Tengel had powerful allies. One of them had already started his journey to stop Vetle.

I think I prefer the books that surrounds the family in Norway. This book isn't bad, but not among the most exiting either to me.
