Not a bad concept but the author flogged it to death. Chapter after chapter repeated the same message. I think the story should have also addressed other changes as a result of the reduction. That many people lost would be felt in every field of human endeavor.

horrid
Potentially a great plot but the writing vomited out page after page after page. How could an editor agree to publish this? Maybe it’s self published.

Ending was terrible
It seemed that everything in the last third was a repetition. Chapters saying the same things over and over again.
I enjoyed the first half of the book.
