THAT'S RIGHT GIRL. I loved every second of her choosing better for herself and making her old shield suffer. They were miserable and it glorious.

Okay 💅🏽 this is the type of treatment my girl deserves. She's one of a kind and they know it here. Imperium is already off to a good start.

At this point I'm not even reading for the plot (though I'm still interested in that too), I'm just here for the dramatics because they are giving.
To explain my tags:
- OM drama tag is bc the new potential shields are technically OM for now even though she'll end up with all of them.
- OW drama tag is bc the sister of one of her old shield members and the old potential of her current guys is at this new school but these new guys aren't idiots like the last ones and are 💯 for the FMC from the beginning.
-Grovel sucked tag is bc it does suck. They just mope around and then try to force her to take them back. The amount of sadness and jealousy and doom they feel is really doing it for me though.
-Dubious cheating tag is bc she's still bonded to the old shield, and if I considered their antics after dropping her in the last book cheating, then I also have to consider hers cheating...but I added dubious, because I'm okay with double standards when they're reversed. 😅

This book is a filler
I prefer quality over quantity. Book 2 was a waste of my time. Nothing significant happens. I would have rather waited till December 2026 to read something decent.
Jupiter has collected too many MMCs none of them are standing out. You can't tell me 9 men all have the same temperament. Again more focus needed on quality.
Noodle had some quips in book 1 that made him funny, this time he barely had a presence. Also he's a familiar not a pet, for some reason in book 2 he doesn't sound intelligent at all.
I'm underwhelmed by this offering. Depending on my reading mood when book 3 comes out I may not bother.

Less than 1 star. Yeah, I don't think I'm going to finish this series. There is no meat to this at all, and no character building or real tension. The 5 new guys that were introduced at the end of the last book? Can't tell them apart. One of them, Jamie, gets more description (stars, more reserved) but besides him I can't tell you what the others look like, how their personalities are different (hint, they're not), or anything unique about them. And there's no foundations to this "love" that they all fall into. We as readers barely know them, so I'm not sure how they're so obsessed with each other.
The plot is meh. The spice is meh. Jupiter is fine, and glad she doesn't roll over for the first 4 guys (but also, I would be fine if those guys just never came back, I feel no connection to them). While we got a bit more information on how the magic for Aquarius and Pieces work, I still don't understand how the rest of it works. And honestly the banes? They feel very vague. All in all, basically nothing happened in this book and it was less than 300 pages.

Appreciate that we need the grovel, however the amount of times Jupiter repeats the same thing to her shield is getting ridiculous.
The actual plot has moved very little? We've only added 5 more potential mates to the mix and no sense of how reconciliation will play out.

no bc I was so ready to love this one…. :( something about book 2 rhs and being anticlimactic bc why was this so Flat. like the characters to me were so boring. i was so intrigued by the stardust shield in their introduction towards the end of book 1 but reading this they genuinely feel like a copy and paste of each other. even the nightfall shield to me were so one dimensional. maybe it was the lack of character development from everyone but especially jupiter but it just lost all the spark of emotions the first book brought out. whole ass filler book 2. 2.5/5⭐️

Yeah so this is a book where basically nothing happens, and there wasn’t enough groveling. The FMC is less edgy and annoying than the first book, so kudos for that except she almost reads like an entirely different character at times. Still going to read the third one when it comes out probably.

If you wanted to have 10 main characters, you should have made this into a 10-book series. Nine MMCs in 3 books is insane. I don't know or care about most of the Stardust Shield because they weren't well developed, and I still had the Nightfall characters attached to this story in my brain.
And the MFC annoyed the hell out of me. Were the Nightfall Shield wrong for quickly believing she was manipulating them and kicking her to the curb? Absolutely. Their relationship broke as quickly as it developed. HOWEVER, they did not cheat on her.
They dumped her and then unknowingly punished her by trying to sleep with other girls to forget about her "betrayal." But as soon as they realized she was set up and they were hurting her, they apologized and tried to make it right.
Now, it's more than fair for her not to want them back, but for her to intentionally punish/hurt them by sleeping with another shield and having sex with Aiden so they "feel her under their skin for the rest of their lives..." is cruel and gross.
Many might disagree, but I think Jupiter is far crueler than any of the men in these books. And the self-righteous bullshit is getting old.
And, I'm sorry, she's mad at the Nightfall Shield for hurting her unknowingly, but does not blink an eye when the Stardust Shield reveals that they have been lying and manipulating her for the entire book? WHAT??
I'll read the last book, but I don't have high expectations. Trying to cram this much world-building and character development into 3 books is never going to end well.
Overall, I'm disappointed because I really liked the first book, but then it just went downhill. Even Noodle's presence/humor severely dwindled in this book.

3⭐️ while I didn’t love this book as much as the first, I’ll still be back for book 3😭. I feel like nothing truly happened in this book and even the reveal at the end from the guys to Jupiter was so brushed over that i feel like it’s so contradictory to what happened with the OG MMC’s. Everything was just a bit anticlimactic.. But, i really am so here for the plot and them getting to their home worlds, so ill be back for book 3 lmao.

Book two had no plot. None. We were simply wandering through life collecting men.
And NINE mates??? Nine??? that is not romance anymore, that is biblical-level greed. Somewhere a deadly sin just clocked in for its shift.
Every time I thought we were finally getting plot progression, another man spawned. At this point she doesn’t have mates, she has a starting lineup, a bench, and probably two alternates.
I kept reading like surely something is going to happen besides expanding the roster. Spoiler: the roster expanded.
Please put the men down and pick up a plot.

Wait… what happened?? Book 1 was SUCH A VIBE and then this? Not only did we acquire five, yes FIVE more mmc’s in this book but it was all filler. I honestly couldn’t even remember all of their names or what they looked like. I personally try to stick with 3-5 mmc’s in a why choose, maybe 6 if the books is amazing. It’s just a personal preference. So I wasn’t too thrilled to have to try and keep track of 9 men. Plus- while I love a badass fmc who doesn’t let her men walk all over her, I felt like she was being a little too much here. What they did was messed up for sure. But like- there is more nuance than them just “throwing her away” idk it felt so forced.

Okay I don't need the angst of her previous bond or the "enemies to lovers" vibes but this book felt so bland when it comes to the new set of Mates. We have some stand out moments but how can any writer do 9 men well. Here's the answer...they can't. No one can balance a hefty plot line while trying to make us care for 9 guys. If you had a gun to my head after two books and asked me to name all 9 and give details about them I would be dead.
I also was pretty clear that the cheating idiots don't deserve a chance at all from last book and I haven't exactly changed my mind on that, but she jumped from devastated to sleeping with 4 new men pretty quickly, quickly enough that I'm not sure she has much room to talk, and again I'm surprised by her level of trust and naive behavior. You just had your heart ripped open and jump back into it even knowing they are hiding things from you. At some point you have to be wary of people and not jump right into relationships but hey what do I know.
As for the plot I think that is something that has frustrated me. We are focusing so hard on trying to make 9 mates work that the plot is pretty basic. She's the one that will get them home, and the guys dads are mean. Which fine don't reinvent the wheel but I just feel like it's been on repeat for two books without clear movement or change because we are so wrapped up in men. Which again not that mad about, but if I knew more about them or understood how she has a connection to them I may overlook the issues with plot. But again 9 mates does not a good plot make.
We shall see how this wraps up, because we have one book left in the trilogy to wrap up the fight with the guys from America, fight the assembly because obviously that's coming, transport worlds and fall in love with 9 men. Attainable in 300 pages right?

But also things dragged. And yeah, I read the reviews & I also felt that there was some hypocrisy going on with Jupiter.
Particularly, with Aiden's sister, Eliza. FMC was willing to overlook - and even sympathize with the bully, mean girl, seconds after said mean girl called her old shield guys her "sloppy seconds". FMC decided after catching some physical tells that Eliza was miserable, worried & afraid with her current shields & FMC understood that her & Aiden's father was highly manipulative.
What Fmc's original shield did was terrible- however it was more than a prank- it was a huge scheme fronted by a millionaire & his hackers or whatever to make those messages look real. Partnered with the fact thatvtgey had horribly, controlling & manipulative fathers & the total lack of knowledge of the 13th zodiac, i can get why & HOW the guys fell for it.
I feel like Jupiter should've had some sympathy about this but she has sympathy for Eliza?
Jupiter sleeping with Lucas & Rowan at the same academy with her shield close by was cold. Jupiter no longer blocking her smexy times with any of the guys is cold to me. Im glad she's moving on etc but she's killing her shield as well.
Now im worried that a 3rd book wont be enough to wrap up the soon to be 9 mates & not have it feel rushed. Not a lot happened here until after the 50% mark & then bam, sex with several guys. Which felt rushed to me.
The assassination attempts were good but it was brushed aside & a week later, FMC is still thinking about Draco's proposal. Like really? Just going to leave the guys there with killers sneaking around.

Honest review (emotionally held hostage by suffering gays)
Against my better judgment, I read the second book. And you know what? It was actually better. Not “I will build a shrine in its honor” better, but “fine, take my time and emotional stability again” better.
First of all, THANK YOU for not making her forgive the first shield immediately just because he looked sad in the rain or whatever. The second shield? Way better chemistry. Finally a connection that doesn’t feel like HR should get involved.
The world-building also remembered it exists, which was refreshing. The tropes were trope-ing beautifully, the smut was surprisingly decent (meaning I didn’t have to physically put the book down from secondhand embarrassment), and we even got a little groveling. Barely enough to heal my wounds, but I respect the effort.
Also the gays? Still going through it. At this point their collective suffering is basically part of the magic system.

9 MMCs is too many with this lack of detail writing. None stand out. They all seem the same. The new 5 have a *pinch* more depth than the old 4, but they still all read flat. Its like the author is filtering through all 9, but you get 2 chapters with each because theres just too many. "Oh its been a while since we've seen this one, let's do a chapter in his POV!" type beat. Not a good way to build a RH of this size. Not a lot happened. Felt fillery while also not giving us any depth.
There's just so much potential with the plot, but again the style and the outline of it just leaves it lacking. 13 Zodiac home planets that they had to run from, but are now trying to go back to? Yes please. But the outcome just isn't that good. And because there are so many zodiacs, and with the way the writing is, I couldn't tell you anything specific about any of them except the 13th. They all merge together because there aren't good explanations that are laid out in any memorable way. The only two I got anything on other than the 13th are Aquarius and Pisces.

Unfortunately the worldbuilding wasn’t convincing and the betrayal drama made no sense then goes on waaaaaay too long for people who are supposedly cosmically bonded.
There were some good moments (her snek familiar is a delight), but I won’t be finishing the series.

A FMC that actually stands up for herself against her bonds and holds too it??? Oh I ate it UP.
Jupiter refuses to take shit and I love her for it. It was incredibly refreshing to see A FMC who doesnt take the grovel and instead respects herself enough to know what she deserves.
I devoured this in a couple hours and now have no clue what im going to do while I wait for the final book.
Jupiter refuses to take shit and I love her for it. It was incredibly refreshing to see A FMC who doesnt take the grovel and instead respects herself enough to know what she deserves.
I devoured this in a couple hours and now have no clue what im going to do while I wait for the final book.

In the second book of this series we follow Jupiter who moves from the US to England to avoid the Nightfall Shield thay broke her heart.
In the new English Academy she meets another Shield that obviously fall instantly in love with her and want to make her their Axis.
The new Shield is called the Stardust Shield and includes:
1. Lucas, the protective Aquarius leader
2. Rowan, the fierce casanova Capricorn
3. Phoenix, the gentle giant Taurus
4. Theo, the pragmatic Libra
5. Jamie, the sweetheart virgin Pisces.
There's new drama since Jupiter now has feelings for 9 men and she discovers that everyone wants her to master her magic over portals so that she can take them to their home planets away from Earth.
Worldbuilding: Coming together. Still there are questions about the banes. And also how is decided if your an Axis or not? Is it something you can decide?
Plot: Drama and why choose romance packed with a tiny smidge of action.
Romance: Okay, the insta love is getting on my nerves.
FMC: Kinda good.
MMCs: Honestly there are so many that two books of 300 pages each are not enough to eatablish the characters and let the readers experience them.
Side characters: Just the snake.
Villain: Uhm... I don't know who that's supposed to be.
General Comments
Comment 1: The criticism on accents continues. Apparently, the author thinks that people in the UK have never met an American before which leads to statements like the following "They (the students from the UK) were fascinated with my American accent, telling me I sounded like a movie star."
Let me remind you that in the first book the FMC thought the British accent was "posh". But the American accent is correlated as the one movie stars use. Sure....
I'm not even British and find those comments annoying.
Comment 2: Can we stop making Russian men the epitome of masculine toxicity? Is this stereotype based of the Russian mafia? I have no idea. But why the Russians specifically?

pretty decent
This was a pretty good book. This book saw some grovelling Nightshade warriors. Which i felt was almost too long and or how degraded they became, sick even, it became to much. I wanted to read when she forgave them. Which I hardly ever feel. Normally the fmc forgives so easily. Especially with how dire things became. All of them basically dying a slow death due to the separation and murder attempts. I typically perfer longer grovelling scenes but there wasn’t many chapters that even had the nightshade group, and i think that’s what I didn’t like about it. Hence my 4 star rating. Give them a chance to at least grovel. To make up for what they did. And why didn’t Jupiter get super upset with the Stardust guys for holding back the truth about their super secret order that centers around her. Got close to her, they slept with her before they told her the truth. I expected at least some negative fallout, so it just didn’t fit with her character in my thoughts.
There wasn’t enough scenes with Noodle. I skipped the sex scenes with the stardust guys because it just hurt my heart knowing the nightfall guys were falling to pieces. I did enjoy her learning new things at this academy. The education is more intense at Imperial than Dominion. The welcome she got at Imperial was standards higher than the welcome she got Dominion. I did like the ending though. It didn’t destroy my soul, it actually lifted it up with the decision to bring Nightshade to Imperial, even if it was strictly non romantic, warrior bond only, to make her stronger to open the portal to their home worlds. I am curious as to how it will work. Do Aquarius only go to the Aquarius planet, Taurus only to Taurus planet etc. there’s not a lot of discussion or even thought process on how intergalactic travel works… so I do look forward to reading more.

I liked this better than the first book. Our MFC has left the bond and society that betrayed her and has arrived at her new academy in England. Here she gets closer to guys that actually respect and like her. I am not sad at all the other guys don't have a large part in this book. It's hinted at the end that she'll forgive them, but honestly, I kind of wish she wouldn't. 🤷♀️

Mixed feelings
The first half of this book was as good as the first one. This author did something few RH/PNR academy books manage to do. And that's making the h relevant again. Most become old news after the initial reveal of her importance and singularity, and a few tricks. In this book the h leaves Dominion Academy (from book 1) and moves across the pond to Imperium Academy in London. So there's a whole new setting, a new system, and a new worshipful student body for us to watch with interest.
For the first half of the book I was thinking: now this is how a woman should treat a bunch of cheaters. She left them behind, and even in horrible pain (damaged bond illness and heartache) she took steps forward. And when the fight came to her (in the form of that group of cheaters desperate to win her back—going so far as to bumble into her active combat almost getting her killed) she let them have it! It was inspiring to watch. I like cheating romance as a genre, but so few authors do it well. They just can't manage express the rage and hurt effectively in prose. This one got it right.
That said, if this really is a 9 member harem with only a 3 book arc, I would have expected some softening or some kind of reconciliation to begin by the halfway point, or at least 2/3 through. The h's anger was righteous but where the hell is this going? Harems need balance above all else. Especially if we're actually supposed to believe in the HEA. Any one member getting too much attention. Nope. Any part of the group not liking one another or not bonding for too long. Nope. Separations that go on too long. Nope. Heroines that go from victims to victimizers. Nope. I mean, arguably when Jupiter had sex with Theo the scales were cosmically over-balanced, but then getting DP'd! That's evil. The Nightfall guys never had sex with anyone. Sure she can hold a grudge, but she's lost the high ground. That writing mess up lost the book another star.
I also didn't care for the Stardust Shield's (the new shield the h is bonding with: Phoenix, Jamie, Rowan, Theo, Lucas) ulterior motives. Can't this girl catch a break??? Not more untrustworthy men. There's a case to be made that Stardust's secret cause is noble ie. returning their people to their proper place in the universe. But their goal also reeks of cultishness and zealotry. Like religious people who are waiting for the messiah instead of appreciating life here and now. Or like delusional countries who are a trying to reset to a 'better' time. *cough* MAGA *cough* So yeah, I was deeply disappointed in that angle.
This book also had too much lore and artefact blah blah blah in the middle. All the history and Zodiac tchotchkes weren't hard to understand, but my eyes were glazing over. Especially since all that stuff came at the same time we just wanted to see the bonds start getting repaired. Even when a twist of fate has the h reuniting with Nightfall, she doesn't soften enough. Give us a break, this separation has been going on for 16 goddamn chapters and counting, time to fish or cut bait.
I skimmed the last 15%. Not sure I want to finish the series.

RH - 9Ms/Bonded/Magic Multi PoV
SYNOPSIS (of Trilogy): This trilogy is set on earth where, thousands of years ago, an alien race (the Aellari or Zodiacs) escaped to when their home planets were overrun by a destructive species called the Bane. The Aellari live alongside humans without them knowing and have their own academies and governing Assembly. The FC, Jupiter, manifested into her „designation“ as an Ophis, the mythical 13th Zodiac. She was immediately taken under the Assembly‘s banner and has been trained for the past 3 years to take down the Bane. Book 1 opens with Jupiter about to join Dominium Academy where she will be further trained as a warrior and where the Assembly wants her to be the Axis for the acclaimed Nightfall Shield. Essentially the zodiacs form „Shields“ which are usually 4-5 warriors plus an axis which helps strengthen their powers. Neither the Nightfall Shield nor the FC want to join up despite what the Assembly wants however, they are forced to bond and Jupiter becomes their axis under exigent circumstances. Book 1 covers the swift bonding of Jupiter with Nightfall and ends on a (small) cliffhanger when everything goes wrong between them; Book 2 covers Jupiter‘s move to another academy where she falls for a different Shield group; and Book 3 covers the HEA with everyone coming together. In the background there are some low level machinations from the Darkfall Shield‘s families.
HEAT LEVEL: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆🍆🍆 Whilst the spice does not kick in until around 60% of Book 1, once it does it ramps up swiftly with alot of heat and spice - 1on1 and group as well as going into DP. There is no MM action. As mentioned, there are 9 MCs so that‘s alot to juggle and leads to plenty of scenes. For me, unfortunately, the scenes felt like they were just shoehorned in as opposed to organic/a natural flow to the narrative and much of the description is basic sex as opposed to sensual or romantic. It felt like the author had a quota she needed to fulfil and just slammed scenes in wherever possible. Many you could see coming a mile away as the only reason for a certain scene being introduced was to provide an excuse for more sex 🤷♀️ It didn‘t work for me and I ended up skipping most of them.
Overall my view of this trilogy is that it’s a lot of words that go nowhere with no coherent plot interspersed with frequent sex scenes. It’s like the author just couldn’t be bothered to cobble together even a half decent story and was painting by numbers where half the numbers were missing 🫣 I understand the author reworked Book 3 and reissued it - if that‘s the case I hate to think how bad the first version was 😆
World Building/Character Development: Whilst there is a little bit of world building with explanations of how and why the zodiacs came to earth it was bare brush and no real substance. You have “the Assembly” but it’s not entirely clear if they are good or bad, how they are chosen or what they actually do; there’s no clarity on how the zodiacs are integrated into the human world or if they are or how they keep hidden; it’s unclear why some are so insistent on „going home“ when they have lived on earth for thousands of years. The character development and background stories are also limited. We get some background for the FC but none or almost none on the MCs which makes it hard to buy into the characters as they have little depth to them. The feeling you get is that the author seems to have gone into this trilogy with no clear story arc in mind. Book 1 starts with all the building blocks of a bully/enemies to lovers trope (which it’s not) which quickly morphs into an insta love/insta bond situation which then morphs again into a redemption arc with the MCs doing the FC wrong and betrayal, angst, remorse section is too brief to be properly done with they way that the MCs find out they were wrong being very basic and laughable. Did the author just get bored with that trope? The story is all over the place with nothing really happening save for a few fights with the Bane which are repetitive and odd gaps in the narrative, for example, there is no background given on best friends Lydia and Tye until well into Book 2 and then it is limited and you don‘t get any real sense of these individuals as real people or friends - how did they meet? How long have they known each other? Percy’s and Aiden‘s parents are portrayed as the usual nasty, cold calculating couple only wanting to use their son for advantage yet there is no sign of them at the Gala which they had insisted Percy and the Darkfall Shield attend? The FC’s parents are mentioned briefly in Book 1 when she heads to Dominium then not mentioned again until they briefly pop up at the end of Book 1. They play a slightly bigger role in Book 3. Aiden’s sister Eliza is introduced at the beginning of Book 2 (which is a bit odd as there had previously been no mention of his sisters whereas Percy’s sisters had been described as social climbing like his parents - I think the author just forgot 🤦♀️; but aside from one minor interaction later in the book it’s like she and her shield disappear. Even when her brother comes to Imperium she’s not mentioned until 40% in to Book 3 and then it‘s like that potential plot line is left hanging.
Jupiter is a kick ass FC who is strong and powerful but it’s all superficial you don‘t really get a sense of her, what she has been through, how her 3 years with the Assembly went or anything meaningful which means that it is hard to really engage with or care about her character. I also felt that, considering how ill it made Jupiter when Nightfall tried to cheat on her, she seemed to have no issue doing the same until Book 3 when she suddenly decides that it may not be a nice thing to do 🤦♀️ It just felt nasty and gratuitous and didn‘t paint the FC in a sympathetic light. Unfortunately the Nightfall Shield come across as unlikeable. They come across as juvenile and spoiled throwing tantrums every 5 seconds, drowning themselves in drink and just not strong enough to pull themselves together when they hit a rough patch with the FC. They simply wallow. The descriptions of them and their behaviour are repetitive and lack impact as a result - we get it, they can’t sleep, they’re drowning in alcohol and cigarettes and punching things as well as crying all the time (so manly) 🤦♀️. The Starburst Shield, on the other hand, come across so much better, more mature, stronger, protective and in control - no competition.
This author also has an issue with repetition - how many times does the author have to tell us that humans can’t see the bane but the zodiacs can? How many times does an MC‘s c0$k become painfully hard? how many times does we have to hear about how the Nightfall Shield are drinking themselves into oblivion? It is ridiculous, has this author actually read or tried to proof read any of these books? 🙄
Book 3 and the whole „return to the homeworld“ schtick is confusing - why, after thousands of years, would you want to? Why does it take pages before we get an offhand explanation that the Bane will have moved on and it’s safe (although they don’t address what happens when the Bane return). After wading through 3 mediocre books with no real narrative you finally reach a rushed climax which made no sense at all and seemed to raise 2 fingers to everyone left to the Bane‘s tender care especially after the Zodiac‘s were the ones that attracted the Bane to earth in the first place. Also, would someone explain what the point of the vague references to how nasty Percy and Aiden‘s fathers were? That plot line went nowhere and just came to a screeching halt? As an aside, I know that some reviews are annoyed that there are 13 zodiac signs yet only 9 mates and that this makes no sense. Whilst I agree the numbers don‘t (literally) add up but let‘s be honest, 9 men is ridiculous and 13 would be beyond a joke. 3 or 4 RH is optimal in my view, 5 at a push but anything beyond that becomes unsustainable (IMO) 😳

This author also has an issue with repetition - how many times does the author have to tell us that humans can’t see the bane but the zodiacs can? How many times does an MC‘s c0$k become painfully hard? how many times does we have to hear about how the Nightfall Shield are drinking themselves into oblivion? It is ridiculous, has this author actually read or tried to proof read any of these books? 🙄
Book 3 and the whole „return to the homeworld“ schtick is confusing - why, after thousands of years, would you want to? Why does it take pages before we get an offhand explanation that the Bane will have moved on and it’s safe (although they don’t address what happens when the Bane return). After wading through 3 mediocre books with no real narrative you finally reach a rushed climax which made no sense at all and seemed to raise 2 fingers to everyone left to the Bane‘s tender care especially after the Zodiac‘s were the ones that attracted the Bane to earth in the first place. Also, would someone explain what the point of the vague references to how nasty Percy and Aiden‘s fathers were? That plot line went nowhere and just came to a screeching halt? As an aside, I know that some reviews are annoyed that there are 13 zodiac signs yet only 9 mates and that this makes no sense. Whilst I agree the numbers don‘t (literally) add up but let‘s be honest, 9 men is ridiculous and 13 would be beyond a joke. 3 or 4 RH is optimal in my view, 5 at a push but anything beyond that becomes unsustainable (IMO) 😳
This was not for me and nor is this author. Overall this had promise but was ultimately boring 😔
