I loved a majority of this one. The build up between Jude and Liam, becoming fast friends and partners. It was done reallllllly well. But I had some challenges with pacing at the end. Once they end up together it’s instant. I wish that process was drawn out a bit more rather than rushed at the end. I loved the scenes where they were wolves together and going for their runs ❤️❤️ I loved the possessive and jealous moments.
I also noticed that some of the details about wolves and mates were left out, leaving us to guess, which I don’t love. So only one wolf needs to bite another? And then what actually happens? Can other wolves sense the mate bond? Was it super rare? Then the wolves themselves, stronger/faster/healing faster. Anything else? It felt low depth.
This book could have done with some editing though. One for the pacing but two for the dialogue and some spelling/grammar issues. The dialogue at the big love scene was awkwardddddd. It just felt very disconnected and stunted.
I also wanted the epilogue to be out further than just like a week or two. Although I’m glad Jude got his dog 😍 It would’ve been nice to see commitment - maybe a marriage or something. Since it was talked up how much Liam struggled with long term commitment.
Overall, this was a good book.
It was kind of in our faces that the next book, or at least one of them, would be Caleb and Evan.
✔️Letto!
Anzi.
Ho letto tutti i libri di Beau Brown tradotti in italiano e vi raccomando tutti quanti!
This was a really satisfying slow-burn shifter romance with a strong focus on character and connection. Jude and Liam are both easy to root for in very different ways—Jude with his guarded, keep-your-distance attitude, and Liam with his warmth and loyalty to both his pack and the life he’s built.
I particularly enjoyed how their relationship developed naturally through their partnership at work. The progression from colleagues to friends to something more felt believable and well-paced, especially with the added tension of the mate bond neither of them is quite ready to accept.
The emotional side of the story stood out for me. Jude’s reluctance to trust and Liam’s internal conflict added depth without overwhelming the romance. It’s very much about learning to let someone in, even when it goes against everything you’ve convinced yourself is safer.
Overall, a gentle but engaging start to the series, with a nice mix of shifter lore, emotional growth, and a romance that takes its time in the best way.

I read that book in one sitting. This is not my first read by that author, and again I was not disappointed! A grate portrayed and storytelling with compelling characters.
I love the chemistry between the two characters and the way it was portrayed. We learn about two shifters, one of whom is in a relationship with a woman and has never been with another man before. So, the entire interaction with the other male character is very new to him. It involves bi awakening and fated mates, and it really felt like a deep, inevitable mate connection between them. I also appreciated the portrayal of cheating and how they fell in love with each other while one of them was struggling with that and in a relationship. The other main character trying to move on was really moving and painfully real. If you want a story that is easy and fun to read, had the tiniest of angst and a whole lot of love read it
Climbing out of comfort box can be awkward! Jude, is used to people letting him down, so he builds very high walls. He is a law enforcement officer taking a hiatis from the big city, in Golden Peak Montana. Liam, is his new patrol partner happy and content in his life with his girlfriend. With their proximity, a mate bond starts to form upending their expected lives and who they think they are as partners and men. They get to go on an exploratory adventure of self discovery and finding their true places in their world. Well done, nice cover art, great flow, hot! I loved Liam and Jude in this story. It was sweet the way these two connected. They felt that mate pull but Liam wasn’t going to cheat on his girlfriend just to satisfy that pull. That made me fall in love with him. Both these two were such wonderful guys. I was rooting for them throughout this story. And when they were finally able to come together, sweetest moment ever. I really entire reading this story. It was well written and the characters were great.
I will give this book a 4/5. Wolf shifter Jude moves to a small town to escape his past. He meets another shifter, Liam, who turns out to be his partner. Well Jude and Liam are also fated mates. But Liam does not realize that and he is seriously dating a lady. The two men become great friends. But Jude wants more but does not want to jeopardize their friendship. This is a good book.
This is a story of trying to find your place and love after being let down by people in your life. Jude closes himself off because he truly believes no one will be there for him. Liam is trusting and realizes that he wants to be more than partners to Jude. Their relationship starts off slowly and evolves into so much more. I look forward to reading more in this series. This was really an enjoyable, slow-developing, romance betwee two fate mated shifters. I liked both MC and how their friendship developed through work and spending time together. A really good romance.
This was a very nice book. The entire plot is centered on the romance, and I felt it was missing a background storyline, especially since they’re police officers. But overall, it was cute. I liked the characters and the writing, although it felt a little too long for me. 3.5 stars.
I honestly don't know how this isn't a 5 star all the way. The way the story unfolds it beautiful. I hope there are more to come...especially with Caleb and Even.
With strong relatable MCs and a good handling of bi-awakening (or mate bond) and no cheating, which I had worried about at the beginning. Highly recommended.
