Immediately I dove into this book as soon as it was available and was happy to see that it's right where we left off. The stakes are higher as boundaries are being pushed. Now that I've gained more insight, it's interesting to see the cracks forming in Alex's resistance and the true meaning behind the vindictive tendencies. Her use of humor as a shield and defense was intriguing and completely made sense once we got her past. Eva is still a puzzle that I'm constantly trying to solve and constantly questioning her motives. It was comical to see Eva push Alex with her insecurities; it was always a mystery of which way it would go. The tension was so tight you couldn't tell if they were going to fight or make out. I also love what happens after the experiment 😉. It captured the true struggles of pressure from society.
I was completely captivated by this book despite it not being my normal genre but I loved the psychological twists. I found myself feeling a wide range of emotions and questioning the characters' true intentions.

I got to read this book as an ARC and this is my honest review. Wow. I enjoyed the first book in this duology, but this one was on another level. There's a huge twist which I did guess, but that didn't make it any less impactful. I laughed, I cried, I was SO conflicted. Overall one of the most unique books I've read in a while and it's going to stick with me for a very long time.
Book 2 in Astrid Ravenscrofts series was exceptional! A twisted plot that blew me away! Book one has to be read first then this one to follow the characters.
I enjoyed reading this second book of the series, and so glad that I was able to find out what happened after the cliffhanger of the first. I did not see the end coming, but I did enjoy it. It was a very unique but fun book.
