Five stars for the existence of this book. Maybe I'll meet the author at sea when the end times come.

Surprising! I bought a copy of The Nautical Prepper hoping to get an idea (or two) for my ocean-going near-future thriller, Managed Paranoia. I read anything that has to do with sailing and water, but it’s fair to say I’m hesitant when it comes to “prepping culture.” However, I'm not ignorant about what can go wrong. We live on acreage, practice small scale sustainable farming, and experience routine grid outages for days at a time. So the idea of taking care of ourselves is just part of our self sustaining lifestyle.

Quite frankly, I was floored by Capt. Simpson’s book. He has thought through this topic like no-one else. Which is why he can put his years of experiences into a concise, informative book that is full of practical advice. What was most outstanding was what was not in it. Obviously, he could write volumes with his knowledge and flesh it out with interesting stories, but he leaves that for another time (I hope). This book is simple to the extreme and compelling in its no-nonsense attitude. I’m super impressed and who knows, maybe some of its wisdom made it into my series.

Very informative. Depending on your knowledge of sailing, it may go over things that you already know. But the chapters are separated in such a way that you can skip around if you want.
