In 1933, the government demanded America’s gold. In 1937, five tons of it "fell off a truck" on a Kentucky backroad and vanished into history. Now, nearly eighty years later, history professor Jonathan Montgomery has accidentally stumbled onto the world’s most expensive cold case.
Jonathan is trading his syllabus for a high-stakes scavenger hunt. The trail leads straight to Rocco Sabbatini, a mob boss who pulled off the ultimate PR pivot from "criminal" to "The Redeemer". Alongside a snarky colleague and Rocco’s great-granddaughter, who definitely didn’t have "treasure hunter" on her resume. Jonathan is turning history into a heist.
But they aren’t the only ones looking. With shadowy figures closing in, Jon must uncover if the gold was stolen for greed or a massive secret redistribution.
Fast-paced and full of secrets, 6102 proves that history just got expensive.
I write stories that sit right at the intersection of "total genius" and "absolute chaos." Whether I’m building epic fantasy worlds, unraveling a sci-fi disaster, or diving into a psychological thriller, I like to keep the intensity high and the jokes even sharper. My work is for the reader who wants deep wisdom, heart-pounding suspense, and the kind of outlandish humor that makes you look like a crazy person for laughing out loud in public. Basically, come for the high-stakes adventure and stay because I’m one of the few authors who can make a existential crisis feel like a top-tier dad joke.
Join me for the adventure, stay for the laughs, and let’s see how much beautiful hilarious chaos we can find between the pages.
This was a fast-paced and engaging read from beginning to end. As my first experience with historical fiction, it completely exceeded my expectations. It gave me subtle National Treasure vibes, with an added layer of mafia intrigue that kept the story interesting throughout.
Rocco Sabbatini stands out as a particularly compelling character, intelligent, mysterious, and driven in a way that adds depth to the plot.
I also really enjoyed Jon and Devin’s friendship. Their banter felt natural and added some lighter moments to balance the tension of the story.
Overall, 6102 is filled with secrets, history, and plenty of twists. It’s an immersive and entertaining escape.
Thank you to L.B Stone for the opportunity to read an advance copy. I’m grateful to have experienced this story early!
Wow! From start to finish, 6102 was a fast paced adventure reminiscent of National Treasure. I was immediately sucked into the story - the author wastes no time with filler, and instead provides us with a high stakes treasure hunt that will leave you reeling! The author’s poetic prose made this a 5 star read for me. If you’re looking for your next thrilling read, look no further!
A fun adventure that will have you trying to figure out where our main characters are going, what exactly they will find, and what clues they need to follow! Great read from a new to me indie author!
