Chase And Capture
It's only a game, an adult twist on "Capture the Flag." Very adult, actually, especially when it comes to the "Flag" and where it is hidden. In fact, the only similarity between the kid version and the adult version is each hunter must capture his opponents flag to win.
So how the hell did Camden end up here? Tanner, his good buddy from college, refused to let him waste another birthday, was determined to score him some exciting adult time with a group of sexy men, and had set up the entire weekend party on a remote island.
Now, Camden finds himself crashing through the woods while playing the wonderfully lascivious chase-and-capture game, trying to stay ahead of his pursuer. If you’re looking for something light, fast, and erotic, then this is the right book for you. Chase and Capture has a weird plot going on – kind of like a kinky and gay version of The Hunger Games. Although there is no killing involved, I assure you.
The story takes place in a remote island where guests play an adult version of Capture the Flag. Third-person limited perspectives shift between Camden and Gunner throughout the entire plot. Themes of voyeurism and BDSM were strong and prevalent all throughout as well.
The story opens during a mid-story peak moment, which was what I liked the most about this book – the author being able to pique my interest from the get-go. I was already buzzing with anticipation and curiosity from the first chapter alone – so many questions I wanted answers to. The story then goes back to the beginning working its way until the end. I thought that this particular method of delivery worked well for this story.
What happens when the "flag" is removed is entirely up to the captor. We hope you will decide to enjoy yourself with an opened, lubed, and most likely bound man totally at your mercy.
Although you can expect that there are plenty of sex in the book and the build-up to each of these sexual encounters was indeed very hot, I still thought that the actual sex was rushed and lacked that oomph factor I had been anticipating after a sizzling foreplay. I was also bothered by the number of times the word ‘smirk’ (or any variation of the word) was repeated, especially in instances where it was not warranted.
What didn’t sit well with me the most though, is how the attraction between Camden and Gunner felt fast and forced and their conversations sometimes awkward – an instalove like what Gunner said. I think it affected me being able to fully connect with any of these characters, which I consider as one of the biggest factors in making characters and subsequently the story stick. But this is all on me as I think to truly enjoy this book, you have to yield to the way things just seemed disturbingly unreal all throughout. Being too critical would simply be unnecessary for this type of plot.
And as I’ve said, this is a light and sensual story but with surprising adrenaline pumps added (both sexual and non-sexual) here and there to keep the pace fast and your interest piqued the entire time which I thought was a great way to spice things up in the book.

This book was exciting and had a interesting twist as well as a happy ending. Chase and Capture is a romance centered around a group of friends who decide to participate in a kinky version of capture the flag. Camden had not been in a relationship since he had a restraining order put on his X-boyfriend for violent stalker behavior. So, when his friends invite Camden to participate in a sex game on an island resort, he doesn't refuse. He's not the one for causal sex or one night stands, but he needs something to bring him out of his rut. When the game begins, a sexy, X-military man, Gunner, captures Camden's attention, and later captures him in in the woods. Since Camden was hoping for that outcome, their sex is intense and amazing. Though Camden and Gunner hit it off, something doesn't seem right about the game. There appear to be players in the woods that were not present in the reception.
I was drawn to the premise of this book. Although I wasn't expecting a romantic playful union as a result of the chase, I was in no way disappointed. I really enjoyed the tension caused by the hidden dangers in the woods and what they didn't know about the other players. There was always the potential for things to go wrong, but when the danger finally presents itself, it's something that's entirely unexpected. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a little danger, light BDSM, and kink sprinkled in with M/M romance.

Loved this book! This is a wonderful M/m story. Cam is not looking for love, he has been hurt and is just getting his life back. Gunner is a retired military man who is lonely and wants someone to love. This is their story. There is suspense and intrigue. I loved capture the flag growing up, but this version of the game sounds much funnier. Happy reading.

Capture the Flag was always one of my favorite childhood games, so I was intrigued by the premise of this story. The version in this story is an adult game, using colored butt plugs rather than actual flags. The story takes place on a private secluded island over the period of one weekend. Tanner sets up the weekend by inviting ex-military Gunner; quiet, unassuming Camden; and Stephen, the twink. Gunner and Cam immediately click while Stephen, who Tanner is interested in, seems to be after Gunner as well.
Once the games begin, Gunner specifically hunts Cam, which makes for some pretty hot scenes. What makes the book so good though, is that it’s not just a story about guys chasing each other. It turns out there are a group of guys on the island who aren’t there to play the game but have a more sinister reason. Gunner’s past follows him to the island and he’s force to confront it. We get to see Cam’s backstory also and how that plays into the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved the romance between Gunner and Cam. I really felt the attraction they had for each other. The sex scenes were hot! I felt the pacing was steady and just right. It’s not a very long book so it could be read in one sitting. My only complaint is that I did find more than the usual amount of grammar mistakes so I felt it could have had a better editing job, but it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. I would definitely suggest to others to read this story, and I would look for other books by this author.

This was a fun, hot, sexy read with one of the main plot points being about the most adult version of 'capture the flag' I can imagine. The author did a good job of blending the game into the romantic story line without it being corny. I can't decide if the adult version of this game is a bit unrealistic or completely brilliant. Though I know a few people that would toss their panties or boxers in air and be totally down with this game. Maybe I just have slutty friends.
Overall I found the main characters to be both relatable and believable. I think most everyone has friends like Tanner, Camden, and Gunner and works with 'twinks' like Steven. Which reminds me, I should send the author a thank-you note for adding 'big-ass twink' to my vocabulary. What a great word!

I have to say, this book was a whole lot of fun. It made me smile excessively. But it's not only the weekend fun without strings attached. The past of the men in this book had a lot of depth and although for me, it never felt like there was a really dangerous situation (I found it even to be a good thing), it gave the book another level that made it more than superficial.
So, the book resolves around a game. More accurately around the adult version of "Capture the flag" or "Chase and Capture". The flag is a colourful butt plug every participant puts in and of course the aim of the game is to get the butt plugs of the other participants and to keep yours. The hunt is aided by handcuffs and rope, so that the captor can do anything he wants to his captive.
Tanner received free tickets to this "hunt" and he invited Gunner and Camden to go with him. He wants to make sure that Camden's birthday will be a great experience where Cam can overcome the horrible breakup with his last boyfriend. Cam and Gunner immediately click and athough another guy tries to keep them apart it's clear that they should have an exciting hunt.
But the hunt doesn't work as smooth as it should have and both have to fight discrepancies that occur throughout the weekend. Both are confronted with their pasts, especially Gunnar, an retired military who experienced treason and as a consequence the loss of comrades.
I would definitely recommend reading it to everybody who is in the mood for a not so disrupting but still fascinating story line spiked with hot sex scenes in a not commonplace setting.

I really enjoyed this story, but readers have to be willing to suspend some disbelief right from the start with this one. It’s like watching a horror movie and the girl just has to open the door to the basement – we all know she’s going to do it, though we yell at her to not do it. Well…they did it. Who, in their right mind, takes complimentary tickets from a business they know nothing about, which requires them to engage in an erotic version of “Capture the Flag,” where the flag isn’t really a flag at all, on a deserted island? Okay, though, once you get through that, it’s good, very good.
The rules – you must wear your flag, you must submit to your captor if you are captured, and if you capture someone you may “perform” if you wish. Participants are armed with a backpack containing a map, condoms, lube, handcuffs, nylon rope, and butt plugs. This is a recipe for super-hot sex scenes…did I mention handcuffs, rope, and horny men running through the woods after each other intent on stripping their prey naked in order to capture their flag? While this story focused mainly on Cam being chased by Gunner, the idea there were 16 other men running around those woods at the same time searching for flags really played into the fun of such an adventure. I can definitely see the potential for some future stories being told.

The "flag" in this story being colorful butt plugs that had to be "captured", what the capturee did to the previous owner of said "flag" was left to his discretion. The only flag that Gunner wanted to capture belonged in Camden and Gunner was sure going to be rewarded for his stealth and bravery! Loved the interaction between Camden and Gunner. My favorite stories are those with humor and this one definitely had a lot of it.
Cam's friend Tanner brings him to the island to help him him get over his ex. A bout or three of hot sex aught to do it! Loved how Gunner brought Cam out of his shell and helped him move on. Oh I do love a dual PoV.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are great and the interaction between them is fast paced and amusing.
It's completely unrealistic, unbelievable and cliched but it doesn't matter, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am not sure if anyone else remembers the ‘80s movie, “Surviving the Game” but it was a favorite of mine (cheesy and outlandish, of course) so when I saw the premise for this book I was so excited. Especially since in this version, no one dies!
Camden had a wretched breakup with a super possessive boyfriend on his birthday and since then he has been alone by choice and dateless. This is unacceptable to his best friend from back home, Tanner, who wants nothing more than to get Cam out of his house, out of his shell and doing something fun. To this end, he books a mini-vacation at an exclusive resort and has Cam fly out to meet him. He conveniently doesn’t mention to Cam until they are on their way that it is a kinky sort of resort – one where the guests are all men and the games are not your usual sort. In this version of Capture the Flag, the “flag” is actually a butt plug and if you capture one, well, you get to do what you’d like to your prisoner. “Since no player will give up their “flag” willingly, you may use whatever means necessary to chase down, capture and take the “flag” by force, hence the handcuffs and rope. What happens when the “flag” is removed is entirely up to the captor.” No-strings-attached, unique and fun hookup. Just what Cam needs.
There are four in the group Tanner arranged – Tanner, Cam and two co-workers, Steven and Gunner. Steven seems to have a huge crush on Gunner and the man does not take no for an answer. For his part, Gunner feels a strong protective attraction to Cam and isn’t Cam the lucky one?
As the game begins, we also get to meet the owner of the island, Master. Master has a master plan (sorry, couldn’t resist) and I did like that very much.
There is another plan going on behind the scenes and this one isn’t positive or innocent. Sure, you have to suspend belief for this story because there is SO much that could go wrong when people are presented with this kind of opportunity (back to Surviving the Game!) This part distracted me a bit because it felt fortuitous but all in all it worked.
The characters are interesting and well drawn. I loved Gunner and his giant gentleness combined with Cam’s eagerness to win, well, they are a winning combo. Tanner, loyal friend and sweet man, is another great character. This is a creative way to have a hookup, or maybe meet someone special. And it's a very interesting read!

This was quite a quick read for me and I wonder how much more I would have enjoyed the book if perhaps it had gone on a bit longer and the relationships had developed over time before any life changes were made. This is a fun read and has little bit of a fantasy element that reminds of Fantasy Island, where the holiday makers dreams come to life but sometimes with a nightmarish experience as well.
I enjoyed the concept of taking a chance, especially after Camden has been alone for sometime due an abusive stalker ex boyfriend. The story revolves around Camden being treated to weekend island retreat, by his best friend Tanner, that involves a rather more adult take on the game of chase and capture. There is a slight BDSM element to this story and I partly worried about the consent issue with regards the games. However, without giving away any spoilers, I believe if any of the contestants were in any distress or did not give their consent to any activities swift intervention would prevail.
So Camden meets his fellow invited guests and feels an instant attraction to Gunner, who is extremely hot and dominating, but their 'bonding' is constantly interrupted by Tanner's other invited co-worker Steven, who is extremely flirtatious and persistent in his pursuit of Gunner. Even though Tanner had originally invited him, because he thought Steven was interested in him. Gunner in turn is instantly smitten with less confidant Camden and his more domineering protective instincts come to the fore front, as well as his obvious attraction. Once the games start it becomes more than just a sexy, as well as confidence rebuilding, new experience for Camden, as a more sinister and dangerous factions come into play.
I would recommend it if you would like a story with some hot sex scenes, a hint of domination, a touch of voyeurism, as well as some danger and a suspense. There is also an aspect of romance, which I wish had a chance to be developed a bit more, which is a tricky to do as the story just covers a long weekend, but there is potential for future stories and perhaps catch ups for the main characters? I would give this book a rating of 3.75, rounded off to a 4, and would happily read any more books written by this author.

Chase and Capture is a fun, sexy book based on a very adult version of the childhood game 'capture the flag'. It is a unique idea for a novel, and the author has done a great job of weaving a sexy and romantic storyline around the game. It features an ex military hunk with a soft heart and a beautiful young man who has sworn off men for the last year after a bad break up. I read this book in one sitting and it brightened up an otherwise gloomy afternoon. Hot men, kinky games, lust, intrigue and suspense all combine to create a wonderfully sexy book.
Camden's friend Tanner has arranged for them to spend the weekend at a luxury adult weekend on a remote island where they will be playing a kinky game of capture the flag with a group of men- where the 'flag' is actually a brightly coloured butt plug! The object of the game is to chase after your target, capture his 'flag' then have fun with your prisoner! Tanner's work colleague Gunner is also on the trip and is instantly attracted to Camden. The big, muscly ex military man is determined to capture Camden for the weekend, but there are others determined to keep them apart.
The main characters are both well drawn, and I instantly connected with both of them - especially Camden, he is so sweet and deserves someone who will care for and love him. The chemistry and rapport between them was great, and boy oh boy was the sex hot! I loved the chases, they were really entertaining and supremely sexy.
The whole book takes place over one weekend and I would have loved it to be longer so we could follow Camden and Gunner's relationship as it develops. I'd love to read a sequel about these two, there is so much more to discover about them. I'd also love to hear more from Tanner, I'm sure his story would be interesting to read.
I loved the author's writing style and I'd definitely like to read more of her books in the future. Chase and Capture gets four out of five stars.
Chase and Capture is a fun, sexy book based on a very adult version of the childhood game 'capture the flag'. It is a unique idea for a novel, and the author has done a great job of weaving a sexy and romantic storyline around the game. It features an ex military hunk with a soft heart and a beautiful young man who has sworn off men for the last year after a bad break up. I read this book in one sitting and it brightened up an otherwise gloomy afternoon. Hot men, kinky games, lust, intrigue and suspense all combine to create a wonderfully sexy book.
Camden's friend Tanner has arranged for them to spend the weekend at a luxury adult weekend on a remote island where they will be playing a kinky game of capture the flag with a group of men- where the 'flag' is actually a brightly coloured butt plug! The object of the game is to chase after your target, capture his 'flag' then have fun with your prisoner! Tanner's work colleague Gunner is also on the trip and is instantly attracted to Camden. The big, muscly ex military man is determined to capture Camden for the weekend, but there are others determined to keep them apart.
The main characters are both well drawn, and I instantly connected with both of them - especially Camden, he is so sweet and deserves someone who will care for and love him. The chemistry and rapport between them was great, and boy oh boy was the sex hot! I loved the chases, they were really entertaining and supremely sexy.

I loved the description of this book and thought it sounded fun. I was surprised to see it have just a bit more depth, intrigue, and substance than I was expecting. This was a delight!
Camden was a sweet guy who hadn't gone out much the previous year due to incidents with a horrible ex. Tanner, Camden's best friend, decides that he needs to break out of his funk and do something fun. Tanner arranges for Camden to come visit him and go play an adult version of Capture the Flag with two other friends. Gunner, one of those friends, is an ex-military hottie that I absolutely loved, as did Camden. Camden and Gunner had great chemistry together, and I found myself rooting for them from the moment they met.
While I can't say I would personally enjoy running through the woods with someone chasing me, I enjoyed reading this! The story had a fun premise. Single guys playing sex games that eventually lead to finding someone to have a relationship with? Awesome. Finding out the story had more plot beyond just the sex game and relationship that involved mystery and bad guys? Even better!
I liked the writing style of Hurri Cosmo and will certainly be looking forward to reading more books by this author. I have become a fan.

I had never read this author until Chase and Capture and to be honest, was not too sure if I would end up liking this book based on the premise. But I was intrigued enough to give it a try. And I am glad I did.
The main characters, Gunner Reese and Camden Rider, along with a few strong supporting characters, Tanner, Steven and let's not forget MASTER. Gunner and Camden, who are both friends of Tanner's but do not know one another, are invited to an island for a weekend of "adult" Catch The Flag, along with Steven Michaels, who works with Tanner, as does Gunner.

Well this was an interesting concept, catch the flag but an adult gay version in which they use butt plugs as flags, and sex as rewards for capture. Sounds different, maybe even great, but nope this just didn't work for me.
I like the characters, and the scenes were hot, but that's about where it ends for me. The whole Insta love thing I am not a fan of. The writing style was not for me, the whole thing sounded like a cliche m/f book which I like to avoid nowadays, the inner dialogue did not sound to me how I would imagine a guy thinks. Then we have the whole four brothers, and 'extras' on the island that was just plain ridiculous to be honest. I definitely could have done without that.
In the end we wrap it up with a sweet little HEA when we've all only known each other for two days, but hey it could totally happen right?

Capture the flag with butt pugs, plus some serious lust and action made this one a winner. Was it realistic? Not on your Nelly, which was made it a fun read. I also like it that the all powerful, billionaire 'Master' wasn't the lead character, and that our heroes weren't 'fantastic' types. Yes, Gunner is big and stealthy, but he's also a security manager, not a super soldier and Camden is a forklift driver, not a science genius or other extra special human being.
Well worth the read if you like 'sweet' m/m romances with significant steam.

Yay, capture the flag with butt plugs! How exciting! I loved the setting for this book. Camden's buddies take him to a remote resort to play an adult version of capture the flag. There's a lot of ways this game could have gone wrong. There was a bit of danger involved, but mostly it was just hot sex. Camden meets a hot ex-military named Gunner and they hit it off. Great HEA and loved the twist at the end.

March 30, 2015The writing feels dragged. There's just too much filler. Too much wasted scene. I did a lot of skimming. Or is it just me? Maybe I'm just not into the story. IDK. This book has such a high rating. A lot of people enjoying it. I feel sad why can't I enjoy it as others..

What a game....
To be invited to a private island to play an adult version of Chase and Capture. You find yourself being chased through the woods, and than captured by your pursuer. Who can do whatever he wants after capturing you. If, you enjoy what happen after being captured, you would definitely enjoy playing this game.

When Tanner receives free tickets to an exclusive resort where men go for a weekend of organised ‘chase and capture’, he invites three of his friends to go with him. Gunner and Steven are two work colleagues and Camden is a friend from college that he rarely sees due to distance. There is an instant attraction between Gunner and Tanner and they make it their mission to ‘chase’ each other rather than try to go after any of the other men attending that
weekend.
It’s a fun read as long as you don’t take the concept too seriously. I didn’t feel that the conversations between the two MC’s flowed well, it felt stinted and at times a little teenage in content. Boys trying to impress each other with stories of racing forklift trucks (really ?!).
The men arrive at the remote island where the resort is situated, and the games begin the next morning. The idea being to capture a player, use the kit provided (handcuffs, blanket, condoms etc), remove their butt plug and then do whatever you like with them. Gunner, whilst chasing Camden feels uneasy and is sure they are being stalked by a group of men who may or may not be part of the game. There is a twist which gives the tale a bit more dimension than just being about the sex, and the ending was not one I would’ve anticipated but it was all a bit too unlikely.
Somehow, despite the chase, I didn’t feel much of a connection between between the MC’s. The sex should’ve been hot but referring to male genitalia as ‘his staff’ or ‘his sex’ doesn’t work for me. There was a happy ending for them but not for this reader.

I enjoyed reading this! I liked both heroes and the story flowed well. The sex scenes were well written and sensual. The only hiccup for me was near the end, there was a big reveal that just didn’t quite gel with me. Seemed a bit too.. contrived, I guess. I would definitely read another book by this author.

I really got a kick out of this story! Camden is so easy and transparent to read, making him easy to relate to. The author did a great job of taking a story that could have been just straight erotica and making it into so much more. The suspense aspect was a welcome treat, as were the factors of bringing in something from Gunner’s past and resolving some past pain and issues for him. Camden and Gunner were more than hot together, they were explosive, and the love scenes were enough to singe your eyebrows! A really fun book that I love being able to recommend to others. If you love hot man on man action, along with some “action” then you do not want to miss Chase and Capture!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the characters although I will admit the twist was a little out there (I mean he had just revealed to Cam the backstory just shortly before). However, the twist really threw me off because I assumed they would be captured and used as sex slaves or something so it was a welcome twist.
I loved the story line, and the sex was hot. All the things I really like in a book; good story line, hot sex, m/m action.
The thing I would have liked to have seen in this book was a few chapters on Master and Tanner. I get the feeling their story was hot hot hot.

WOW!! Loved it! I was drawn in by the premise of the story and then drawn in again right from page one. It was sexy, intriguing, unexpected and creative all wrapped up in a nice little HEA. I liked both of the MCs which is always a good thing, and I even liked Cam's best friend Tanner. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at one of Tanner's "capture" moments *wink wink. All in all a great book, that I'll definitely be reading again and again.
