3,2 ☆ | Sorpresivamente, Nikki me ha gustado más de lo que pensaba. Sobre todo, superó a su hermano (Max) sin ningún problema.
La relación de Sav y Nikki se me hizo tierna y mucho más tranquila comparada a las demás de la serie. Siento que ha sido como la más "normal", por decirlo de algún modo. Creo que el hecho de que ella estuviera en la uni combinado con los nervios que ambos se tenían cada vez que se veían hizo que la situación se percibiera más "real".
Me encantaba que Nikki fuera tímido, todo lo contrario a su hermano. Osea, si Savanna se lo hubiera pedido Nikki se dejaba controlar por ella sin ningún pedo JSKAJSKJA. No tengo pruebas, pero tampoco dudas.
La relación familiar de todos los Melnikov siempre es una de mis cosas favoritas, pero esta vez, Sonja acentúo más la conexión de Damien, Ev y Nikki. En especial la de Damien y Nikki, como lo cuidó en el proceso de encontrar a Sav fue demasiado lindo de leer.
Me daba mucha risa que cada vez que mencionaban a Cyn, Sasha seguía poquito después JSKAJS la seguía a todas partes como perrito, todo preocupado de que no le pasara nada a ella y al bebé 😭. Esa escena extra en ginecólogo, tan linda. SERÁ NIÑA 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Y duda, que significa la escena extra del agente Jackson? 🤨 Contexto plis.

nunca pensé que me fuera a gustar tanto Nikita porque por sus apariciones anteriores me cayó bien pero hasta ahí, ahora lo amo.
me gustó que la historia fue calmada y tranquila pero a la vez pasaron cosas como el encontrar a Cupido, por fin. aunque en eso me debieron porque después de que lo encontraron, no mostraron como encuentran las demás cosas y todo lo demás. pero bueno, lo que nos importa es el romance. me encantó que los dos fueran tímidos pero una vez superado eso, fueron una pareja entrañable.
por otro lado, todo el tema y las escenas donde aparecía el profesor ese si me hicieron dar asco, Sonja lo logró.
y menos mal alcancé a leer las escenas extras, las amé y ame más leer sobre Sasha dándose cuenta que van a tener una bebita y que él desde el principio quería ser un girls dad.

Sonja has done it again! After Sasha’s blood-thirsty, intense story, we get Niki’s much sweeter, softer mafia romance and I absolutely loved the change of pace 🙌🏼
We met both Niki and Sav in the previous book and the little glimpses of chemistry between them are fully explored here. Niki was such a refreshing MMC. Instead of the typical ruthless mafia hero, he’s shy, introverted and honestly so adorable 💕 It made his character feel really genuine and different from what we usually get in this genre. And Sav was the perfect match for him! Sweet, kind and caring, but still strong in her own way.
Their moments together were so wholesome and cute that I had a silly grin on my face through most of their scenes. Their relationship just felt warm and natural ❤️
And of course, the cameos from the rest of the Melnikov family! I love those characters so much, so seeing them pop up throughout the book made it even better.
As always, Sonja delivers on the writing, the emotions, the plot and the spice. While this book isn’t as dark as some of her others, it still touches on heavier themes, so definitely check the trigger warnings before going in 🚨
Now I’m just sitting here impatiently waiting for Damien’s book! 😅

¿Que Les puedo decir yo sobre estos libros? Este es el número 8 de la saga Melnikov devils will Rise y me encanta en este conocemos a Nikita (el es hijo de Danil y Simona y hermano menor de Max) aka Max es mi favorito junto con Talia yo todo lo que esperaba que Niki fuera lo supero y con muchas expectativas, siento que este libro es un poco más tranquilo pero aún así tuvo su buena parte de drama con “cupido” que si han leído los demás libros ya se hacía una mención de el antes
Yo quede como loca cuando descubrí quien era se los juro me morí y eso es lo que me encanta de estos libros que siempre me atrapan y literalmente me los devoro en un día como mucho
La relación de Niki y Van me gusto mucho (es bien sabido que aunque ame a Sasha, Cyn no me gustaba mucho y no se porque si fue una buena protagonista pero no tenía lo necesario ash no se y yo tenía miedo que eso me pasara con Van pero me alegra mucho que no fuera asi) Van me gusto y la manera en que ella y Niki se conocen y van evolucionando su relación fue adorable es que el es el melnivok mas tímido y tierno de todos y eso me encantó!!
Cada aparición de la familia me encantaba es que enserio ya son tantos haha todavía recuerdo cuando nomas eran los 5 hermanos y sus respectivas parejas, ahora tenemos hasta para aventar pa arriba de tantos que son 🫢
Definitivamente yo se los recomiendo muchísimo enserio esta saga me ha salvado la vida y conocer a los Melnikov fue maravilloso

This has been the first book I read in the series & from this author but Im sure it wont be the last. Sonja writes the story of Niki and Van that touches the innocence in their way of life. Niki’s devotion to Van to keep her safe was his way of expressing his love for her because he didn’t know how to express it verbally. Van didn’t know how to express her feelings because she didn’t think Niki would like anyone like her, unexperienced. Finding out that they were both virgin’s was so refreshing. It was the feel good part of the story despite Van being in danger. The family’s reaction to Niki and Van was entertaining, since they all saw how they felt for each other even thought they were blind to it. When Van was abducted, the Melnikov’s banded together to find one of their own. Commentary from the uncles and siblings was the comic relief to the intensity of the situation. When found, Niki blamed himself for not protecting Van but she wouldn’t let him. Despite being banged up a little she was happy to be found and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. Im definitely going to have to catch up on the Melnikov family reading other series.

The Melnikov men I am absolutely obsessed and Niki is no obsession to this rule. If you haven’t read the first gen or second gen then the one thing you need to know is the Melnikov fall hard and are consumed entirely by their women. No one compares in their eyes and that is the way I like it😮💨 also the fact born into obsession is a completely accurate title for these two👏🏼
This book follows Niki and Sav and since we got a little sneak peak of them in Cin and Sasha’s book I have been waiting patiently for their story and let’s just say Sonja didn’t disappoint.
To catch you up to speed so to speak for this book, the Melnikov family are looking for a person by the name of Cupid. It was also known that Cupid had a particular interest in Sav, but have no fear Niki had his eyes constantly on her even though she was completely unaware of the fact.
What I love about these two is that they were both completely obsessed with eachother and it was so sweet how shy they were in regards to one another. The fact the both of them couldn’t believe that the other was interested was quite hilarious, I mean everyone surrounding them could see it😂.
Keeping this spoiler free but this book kept my heart racing at all times. Niki wants to protect Sav at all times but one moment is all it takes for her to slip through the cracks and the guilt bears down on him massively and this absolutely broke my heart. Him and his family stops at nothing until she is back safely. Even in the mid of danger Sav held herself strong, she had full confidence in Niki and that he would come save her.
Overall I absolutely loved this book. The chemistry of this couple is impeccable, both of these characters were each others lifelines and that much was made quite clear by the author. I adore the cameos from our first gen characters and how they took Sav under their wing from the get go, I mean they knew it was inevitable before the couple even together so they treated her as a part of the family, again another reason I love this family they certainly look after their own🤭.This book does have some dark themes so please consider your TWs. I cannot wait for Damien’s book and where Sonja will take us on this next journey.

Siempre es un placer leerte, Sonya, y este libro, como ya te dije en IG, no fue una decepción.

Amé a Niki. Desde que supimos que sería el siguiente protagonista lo estaba esperando, y valió totalmente la pena. No es solo un genio informático guapísimo, también es un héroe en secreto, luchando contra el tráfico y con un contacto en el FBI. Es tierno, tímido, sexy… es una bomba. Me tuvo enamorada todo el libro.
Y cómo trata a Savanna. Se nota que todos los Melnikov tienen ese tema con la seguridad, pero en él es distinto: la cuida, se preocupa, duda de sí mismo, cree que no es suficiente… cuando para ella siempre lo fue. Me encantó que Savanna lo ayudara a ver eso. Además, ese apodo “Van” es simplemente perfecto.
Savanna también me encantó: inteligente, divertida, y sin creerse del todo que alguien como Niki podría fijarse en ella. No entiendo cómo ambos pensaban así uno del otro, pero claramente el amor hizo su trabajo y terminó triunfando.
La escena donde ella no entiende nada de tecnología y Niki se lo explica es demasiado linda.
El cómo no tiene ojos para nadie más que ella, que es un sello en todos los hombres Melnikov me encanta muchísimo. Y como siempre, la dinámica de found family en esta saga suma bastante.
Confieso que tuve miedo por Savanna (ya sabemos por qué), sobre todo porque este libro tenía más advertencias que los anteriores, así que mi mente se fue a lo peor… pero por suerte no pasó nada, y ver a Niki hacerse cargo de todo fue increíble. Se siente su desesperación porque la ama, y eso hizo todo aún más intenso.
El final fue perfecto. Como siempre, nos das ese final feliz que sana el corazón.
No me queda más que decir que este es otro de tus libros increíbles. Tienes una pluma mágica, sabes cómo contar historias y conectar. Estoy muy agradecida de haberte encontrado, y voy a esperar con ansias el siguiente libro.

Mafia Romance Reading Slump be gone! No, I still don’t want to jinx myself. But I do want to say that I can always count on a Sonja Grey Mafia Romance’s to be a 5-star read. Born Into Obsession is just that!
Niki is known as the family hacker, but don’t think his knowledge of computers means he doesn’t have the ruthless mafia edge like the others in his family. Ruthless and tatted, he has his eyes and obsessive possessiveness set on one person, Savanna. And it just so happens, she has her eyes on him, too.
They are adorable together. Sure, Niki has security cameras set everywhere. But you rationalize that he is protecting Savanna, too, right? Their romance is a slow burn that is written the way I like—great tension that builds up, and they both have their v-card.
The mafia part of the plot is exciting, with cameos from the parents/characters from the previous books in the series. It’s always fun to see them. Born Into Obsession is Book 8 in the Melnikov Series. A Series that is well worth diving into, as well as the entire Sonja Grey Mafia Romance universe.

Honestly I may have enjoyed this book more if I didn’t start it at the beginning of one of my slumps… hence why it took me so long to finish it. But also I was kinda bored… the MMC wasn’t the typical alpha mafia man that I lean towards and the FMC was kinda ditzy imo just overall the story didn’t suck me in enough to hold my interest

Niki and Van continue the blend of innocent first love and the big Bratva family this 2nd gen series does so well. It is strange to say a story with a sex trafficker kidnapping the FMC is a light mafia story but the majority of our time is spent exploring their new relationship.
Niki had an extra vulnerability than previous MMCs that I enjoyed and felt they were a perfectly matched couple. They aren’t playing games- once they are together, it is a done deal.
I can’t wait to continue Damien’s story.

I went into this already hooked because it’s part of a series I love, and honestly… it didn’t disappoint at all 🤍📖
What I enjoy most about these books is the type of male lead—completely obsessed, fully devoted, and only ever seeing one woman 😭🖤 And this book delivered that perfectly.
But what made this one feel different for me was the male lead himself.
He wasn’t just possessive—he was shy, unsure, and genuinely believed he wasn’t good enough for her 🥺 Even until the end, he carried that feeling, always trying to be better for her instead of acting like he deserved her automatically. That was something I’m not used to seeing, and I really loved it.
And the best part? The obsession wasn’t one-sided 😭
The FMC loved him just as deeply, which made their relationship feel balanced in a way that was both intense and comforting 🤍
What I appreciated most is how their relationship was written.
It wasn’t about power, ego, or “I’m better than you.”
It was about two people choosing each other and constantly trying to become better for one another 🫶
That, to me, felt like a healthier kind of love—even in a dark romance setting 🖤

I’ve been waiting for this story for months—and wow, it exceeded every expectation.

I swear miss Sonja is incapable of flopping cause this was so gooddddd. I loved Niki and Sav together and how he was so shy and blushing at first with her. They both thought they were out of each others league and they both wrong. Idk what it is about Danil's sons but either they actually are the best or I'm just extremely biased towards Danil (one of these has to be true). I wanted this book to be wayyy longer than it was cause I needed more of this. + Again I loved the appearances from the first gen () ANDD we finally got to see Max and Talia with their baby!!! + Dominic dancing with Isabella was so cute 😭
I will say tho it was pretty obvious who Cupid was. I mean there was literally no other option. But I'm not mad about it cause the point wasn't for this to be a mystery so it's fine. I did get scared when Cupid send Niki that video link I had to take a break.

Ahhh this was such a highly anticipated read for me I swear I was checking when the arc would drop every 5 minutes!! AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Niki and Sav were so freaking cuteee, I absolutely love the yearning and how they were both so shy around each other but after they got together 😍🥵🌶️ Niki was such sweetheart to Sav and I love how Sav always reassured our boy whenever he felt insecure 🥺 of course I got to specially mention OUR FAV UNCLE VITALY OMG the elevator has really seen it all 😅🤣😉 he always cracks me up in every book we love his comedic relief ! Overall so so so good this is my comfort series and I can’t wait for Damien’s book next!

It’s just getting worse
Grey’s first series about the Melnikov brothers was really good. This second generation is getting more and more flowery and over-the-top lovey dovey for my tastes. It’s like the Bratva is no longer scary and intimidating, it’s just these guys falling way too quickly in love, bragging about their loving family, and being too mushy to take seriously. It’s Hallmark movie-esque writing at its most nauseating.
This book was a DNF at about 40%. Niki fell way too hard way too fast, and their whole relationship felt so corny and forced. I stopped caring about where this story - and its characters - were going almost immediately. I doubt I’ll be reading anything else by Grey in the foreseeable future

What's with me and books which feel like I am tagging along after having started without me!
The problem is I dnfd book 7, much to my detriment, because Sasha didn't live up to his built up character. He was too obsessed too quickly.
I was hyping myself up for Nikita's book.
I mean a hacker, dual Vs, shy but looks like a Mafia enforcer, sign me up!!!
But apparently Nikita and Savannah met in Book 7. I didn’t get to see their meet cute 😔. In their book Niki and Van were already so into each other and the dynamic kinda lost me.
Also, for being virgins, they didn't act as such. Especially Van, she was so horny and clingy.
Their story is sweet though, very vanilla. Until she gets kidnapped. Then my blood boiled, my stomach roiled and I shrieked in horror. Thankfully, it didn't last long.

After that we went back to the sweetness.
It was lovely seeing the Melnikov family again. I love how obsessed and in love the men are with their women. How attuned to them. How considerate and loving. *sigh*

Me van a tener que disculpar, pero no se como pude terminar este libro. Es lo más aburrido que he leído en años, está autora usualmente me entretiene mucho, pero no pude conectar para nada con Sav y Nikita.
Puede ser que no soy fan del insta love, y que la mayor parte del libro se concentra en el romance de ellos dos, en lugar de desenvolver una buena trama.
Todo lo de Cupid se me hizo super apresurado, casi como si fuera de relleno en lugar de ser el punto principal de la historia.
Pero nadie me tiene aquí queriendo terminar la serie cada que vuelve a sacar un libro 😅

The real shining star in this book is Savanna as the FMC. She's definitely my new favorite Melnikov woman! I love her so much! She had me laughing and crying. Plus I respect most if not all her decisions throughout the book!
She handles things with both intelligence and courage. She's determined and hard working. She's independent but reasonable about it. She's funny, truely, a witty kind of funny. She's beautiful, and a sex bomb in the bedroom.
And Niki was her perfect counterpart. Shy but determined, he's perfect for her.
And the yearning in this book is fire! Leading up to the first kiss was so good and painful at the same time if that makes sense! Lol.
Like when you just want to shake someone and yell at them to just freaking kiss already! But its so satisfying when it happens!!!
Such a good addition to the Melnikov legacy! Sonja did a great job!!!!.

I really enjoyed Niki and Van’s relationship. Their love is so sweet and pure. I hate when books have insecure main characters that doubt the relationship the whole time. I love how quickly and deeply they fell for each other. Also the dynamic of their parents together had me laughing so hard.

I read the book in one sitting. The book tells the story of Nikki and Savanna, follows from Born into Madness with the family looking for Cupid.
The chemistry between Nikki and Van is amazing, they are both shy and obsessed with each other.
The cameos from the rest of the Melnikov family are just the cherry on top.
Not as dark as previous books, but it has some dark themes. It does have a HAE.

A simply wonderful story. From the very first page, it completely captivated me and made me fall in love with each of its characters, with all their strengths and, above all, their weaknesses. That emotional depth is what makes them so real, so human, and so unforgettable.
I was fascinated by the way the relationships develop, especially how they treat their women, with a blend of intensity, protectiveness, and complexity that keeps the story vibrant throughout. Niki was such a sweet MMC, and he reminded me so much of his dad. Savannah was a smart, strong FMC and it was amazing to see how their romance blossomed. Both characters dealt with similar insecurities about each other, which made their journey all the more important.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I would have liked to see a bit more buildup in their relationship—it developed very quickly.
