In this book, the second in the Dabby series, Dabby and her family are once again moving to a new location. Being the children of a military father, the children, Dabby and her brother Bubby, respond in different ways. This is the strength of this book. It displays a positive outlook for children about having to relocate. This is primarily because of the parent’s approach before, after, and during the move. Not only are the parents happy, but they get the children involved in activities in their new neighborhood. There is also an introduction to a new character, Rhiannon. This book can be effectively used in a classroom setting to teach prediction skills, map introduction, as well as vocabulary development.
