I am a sucker for adorable small towns and Honey Oak Harbor is basically a 10 on the cuteness scale. I mean just take a look at the place names! we have Sunflower Street, Daisy Drive, Humble Bumble Creamery, Ember Rose Cafe, Books in Bloom Library, Clover Court, and so much more!! I know it sounds too sweet, and the characters acknowledge that in the book as well, but sometimes it's exactly what the mind requires—cozy, small-town realness 🙂↕️
I wish we got to spend more time with Willa and Theo falling in love with each other because they were so cute oh my god 🥹💛 they have nice & easy banter; it builds up gradually and doesn't sound unnatural when it pops up.
quite often, I am frustrated with the characters in romance books because they're supposed to be 27 and then they go and act like they're 16; but not here!! these two act like the adults they are!!!! they do not communicate with each other for a while, and usually that would be enough to frustrate me, here it didn't!
to write a bit about the plot, I do not know how to make this sound normal, so at the risk of sounding like a weirdo: I loved that there was a murder-mystery-finding-out-the-truth element to this! genuinely put a smile on my face when I read page 15. I've been wanting to read a low-stakes mystery for a while now and this came to me at the right time 💛
the ~mystery~ aspect of it was well-done, and the tension gradually builds up, instead of dumping everything on the reader all at once. it makes the ending that much more satisfying :)
if you're looking for a small-town romance, two lovely people falling for each other, characters learning to deal with grief, and emotional healing, this is a good choice!

There are books that entertain you, and then there are books that quietly find a place in your heart. Honey Kissed was one of those stories for me.
From the very first pages, I found myself completely invested in the characters and their journey. Mary has a beautiful way of writing love that feels effortless, pulling you into every emotion, every moment of vulnerability, and every heartbeat of the story. The romance is sweet, heartfelt, and filled with the kind of tenderness that makes you smile without even realizing it. I was swooooonn.!!! And I loved that it had a little bit of mystery.
What I loved most was how genuine everything felt. The relationships, the emotions, the grief and the growth of the characters all came together to create a story that stayed with me. It reminded me that love isn’t always about grand gestures—sometimes it’s found in the quiet moments, the unwavering support, and the people who choose each other every single day.
This is such a wonderful debut, and I genuinely can’t wait to see what Mary writes next.
Mary is very special to me. She has been one of my Day 1 ARC readers, and watching her become an author herself is one of the proudest moments ever. She is one of the sweetest and most supportive people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing.
Mary, I want you to know that I am so damn proud of you, and I love you. Congratulations on this incredible milestone. This is only the beginning, and I cannot wait to cheer you on every step of the way. ❤️

An absolutely amazing knock out debut! Theo and Willa are end game!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Honey Kissed by Mary B Gould.
What a beautifully written debut novel. The story was engaging, beautiful, and full of so many emotions. Honey Kissed contains themes of grief, trauma, friendships, and resilience, and gave me all the feels.
I loved the romance in this novel, and was truly swooning at the MMC. He’s truly the perfect guy, thoughtful, kind, emotional. He was the whole package. Everything about the relationship between him and the FMC had me falling in love with him.
This book contains romance and mystery— so is hereby considered a romystery, and I loved it. The mystery truly kept me engaged and curious what would happen next.

Mary first hooked me with “romystery.” I love a story that combines elements of both. Throw in a new portmanteau and I’m yours.
Honey Kissed feels like it was made for Hallmark Mystery (and I mean that in the BEST way). It’s charming, it’s cozy, and it is warmth personified.
Willa and Theo are adorable - there is really no other word for it. So is Honey Oak Harbor. I want to follow the stories of other characters and that, to me, is one of the best signals when reading a book.
Plus, I learned that Vermont has lighthouses!
Thank you so much to Mary and Literary Loft PR for the opportunity to read this book prior to publication.

A Rich, Wholesome Read
Mary Gould’s Honey Kissed is a delightfully warm and engaging read that balances heart, charm, and emotional depth. Gould does a fantastic job building relatable characters and crafting an atmosphere that pulls you in from the very first chapter. The pacing flows naturally, making it hard to put down.
While a few plot points felt a bit predictable toward the second half, the strong emotional payoff and genuine warmth of the narrative more than make up for it. A lovely, comforting book that stays with you after the final page—definitely worth the read!

'Honey Kissed' by Mary B. Gould is a lovely and heartwarming debut that blends small-town romance, friendship, and a little mystery into a cosy read. I absolutely loved Honey Oak Harbour- the warm, dreamy setting, charming lanes, little establishments, and quirky residents made the town feel almost like a fairytale. For a moment, I genuinely felt like I was revisiting those old cartoons like "Oswald" or "Bob the Builder", except the cosy little town had somehow come to life. And as a reader, the part I connected with instantly was Willa working in a library! That aspect pulled me right into the story from the very beginning. The setting really draws you in, and honestly, I found myself wishing I could visit Honey Oak Harbour and stay there🥹.
I also really enjoyed the slow-budding romance between Theo and Willa. Willa’s cheerful and kind personality, along with her guardedness after a messy failed relationship, made her journey towards trusting Theo quite touching. Theo’s patience and the way he gradually becomes a part of her life were equally endearing. Their everyday interactions with the town’s residents, along with the little stories unfolding around them, gave the book a wholesome charm. The pacing is definitely slow, and some of the characters felt a little underdeveloped at times, but for me, the small-town atmosphere and gentle romance carried the story beautifully.
Where I struggled a little was the mystery aspect. Theo arrives in Honey Oak Harbour determined to uncover who killed his friend Matt in a hit-and-run, but the mystery takes a back seat for much of the story and is eventually wrapped up rather quickly. As a thriller girlie, I also found the mystery quite predictable, so I couldn’t enjoy that part as much as I wanted to. Still, 'Honey Kissed' is a cute, comforting Ro-mystery with a charming setting, a sweet romance, and plenty of cosy small-town vibes. 4⭐️- the mystery cost it a star, but Honey Oak Harbour absolutely won me over.

Honey Oak Harbor really felt like one of those little fictional towns you accidentally get attached to and then don’t want to leave
Theo and Willa took me on a JOURNEY because these two could not simply meet and fall in love like normal people. Of course we needed a near-death meet-cute, bickering, tension, misunderstandings and me sitting there going “PLEASE JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER” every five minutes
Theo was definitely a slow burn for me. He’s so closed off and carrying so much grief, but those tiny glimpses of his softer side??? Yeah. I folded. The man had me one minute frustrated with him and the next minute smiling at my screen like an idiot.
And Willa I really loved her. She’s a librarian, she’s sarcastic, she has her own scars and trust issues, and I liked that her journey wasn’t just about falling in love with Theo. There was something really comforting about watching these two slowly learn that they could be loved without having to lose themselves.
The romance is definitely the heart of the story, but I also enjoyed having the mystery running underneath it. I kept trying to put little pieces together while simultaneously getting distracted by the romance because apparently I have priorities
And the found family?? Give me a bunch of small-town people who know everybody’s business and somehow become your people and I’m DONE.
What stayed with me most was the grief, though. Theo’s story has this underlying heaviness that makes all those softer moments with Willa mean so much more. There’s a lot about learning to live with loss, letting people in and understanding that moving forward doesn’t mean forgetting.
Also… the romance gestures. I’m saying NOTHING because spoilers, but just know I had several moments of putting the book down, staring into space and going “well that was unfairly cute.”
This was cozy, emotional, romantic, occasionally chaotic and exactly the kind of small-town story that makes you feel like you’ve actually spent some time there.

Honey Kissed was such a warm, comforting read. 🥹💗 I went into it expecting something cute, but I ended up enjoying it so much more than I thought I would. It’s one of those books that leaves you with a happy feeling after you finish it.
One of my favourite things was the balance between the romance and the mystery. The story surrounding Theo and Willa kept me curious, and I liked that the mystery didn’t completely overshadow their relationship. The reveal toward the end genuinely caught me off guard, and I definitely did not see it coming.
Willa was such a lovable heroine. She’s sweet, energetic and hardworking, but she also has her own emotional baggage to deal with. I really appreciated seeing her heal little by little instead of suddenly being “over” everything. Her journey toward finding happiness again, especially with Theo beside her, was honestly beautiful.
And Theo… I need a Theo in my life, please. 😭 He was probably my favourite part of the romance. I loved that his feelings for Willa were shown through what he did, not just what he said. He made her feel secure, appreciated and genuinely cared for, and their relationship had this really lovely sense of comfort.
Their chemistry also felt effortless. Nothing about their relationship seemed unnecessarily rushed, and I enjoyed watching them gradually become important to each other. There was a sweetness to their interactions that made their romance really easy to root for.
The setting was another little highlight for me. Honey Oak Harbor has that cozy small-town atmosphere that makes you want to pack your bags and disappear there for a while. 😂 It felt welcoming and charming, and I could easily picture myself wandering around the town while reading.
The writing was smooth and easy to get into, which made this a very relaxing read. Overall, Honey Kissed gave me exactly the kind of cozy, adorable romance I was looking for, with enough mystery to keep things interesting.

Cute. Honestly, that was my first thought after finishing Honey Kissed.
It had been so long since I read something that made me this happy. Honey Kissed was just so adorable, and I actually found myself pausing at some of the cutest moments just to enjoy them. 🥹
What kept me reading was definitely the mystery and the connection between Theo and Willa. I loved how the mystery was mixed into the romance, and when everything finally came together at the end, I was genuinely like, “Oh my God, I was NOT expecting that.” It actually surprised me.
I really loved Willa as a character. She’s hardworking, bubbly and cute, but she’s also trying to move forward while still carrying parts of her past with her. I loved seeing her slowly become happier with Theo by her side. Watching those painful memories get replaced by happier ones was honestly one of my favourite parts. 🤍
And then there’s Theo. I genuinely loved him. He’s the kind of man who had me thinking, if I ever have to marry, give me a Theo type guy. 😭 The way he loved Willa wasn’t just through words. It showed in his actions, his affection and the way he made her feel safe and loved.
Their romance felt natural and never forced. I really enjoyed watching their connection grow and seeing how much effort they put into each other.
I also really enjoyed the small-town setting of Honey Oak Harbor. The town felt so sweet and comforting that, while reading, I actually found myself wishing I could visit it or even live there someday.
The writing was easy to read and engaging, although some descriptions felt a little too long for me. Overall, though, I had such a lovely time reading this book.
Honey Kissed was such a cute, feel-good romance with a little mystery that kept me curious until the end. If you love small-town romance, rom-coms, cute couples and a touch of mystery, definitely give this one a try. 🍯🤍

Honey Kissed 🍯💛
Honey Kissed is the first book in the Honey Oak Harbor series, and it’s one of those books that instantly makes you happy. It’s adorable, cheery, sweet, and filled with so many little moments that genuinely give you butterflies. 🦋💛
I really loved how Mary blended the sweet small-town romance with a twist of mystery. The mystery kept me curious and on edge while the romance gave me all the warm, fluttery moments. 🔍💕
Theo and Villa’s connection was incredibly sweet, although I do wish it had been explored a little more. I especially loved seeing Villa work through her past trauma and the way Theo supported her through it. Their growth and emotions were handled beautifully. 🤍
The small-town setting was another highlight. Everything felt so vivid and picturesque that I could practically see it like a painting. 🏡🌻 And beneath the romance, I loved the reminder that love isn’t always about big gestures—it can simply be about choosing someone every day, with their flaws and all.
I flew through this book! It was exactly the kind of refreshing read I’d been looking for—not too dark, not overly romantic, but with the perfect hint of mystery. ✨📖
I won’t say too much about the plot because this is definitely a book you should experience for yourself, but if you love sweet small-town romances, well-developed characters, emotional growth, and a little mystery, this one is worth picking up. 🍯🦋
Honestly, I could totally see this as becoming a Hallmark movie. 🎬💛

There are books you read for entertainment and then there are books that stay in your heart and Honey Kissed falls in the latter category. I still can't believe this is the debut of the author . I fell in love with Honey Oak Harbor, I wanted to live there . I mean just look at the places name Ember rose cafe , humble bumble creamery , Books in Bloom Library this is a perfect town for me . This book blends small town romance , friendship and a little mystery into it .
As a reader the part that connected to me the most was Willa working in the library and Willa and Ember banter about fictional men 😂 that really pulled me in from the starting. The mystery in the book kept me on the edge and the romance give all the warmth .
I love the chemistry of Willa and Theo . They are too adorable . She is kind and cheerful but her guardedness after the failed relationship in trusting theo gradually was quiet touching. And Theo he is my book boyfriend i loved how he loved her and literally he build a library for her . Wasnt it is the sweetest thing . The characters growth and emotion handled beautifully.
This is the fast paced read that kept you turning the pages to know what happened next . I won't say much about the plot otherwise I spoiled something .
If you love small town romance ,well developed characters , healin arc , and mystery than this is for you ..

This book, honestly I went in expecting a cute small-town romance, but uff the way I was hooked! The whole mystery running alongside it and whatever happened to Matt, Theo coming to town while trying to figure out the truth behind his best friend's death.
I seriously couldn't put it down until it was finished!
I really liked how slowly they got close. Willa had been through a relationship that completely messed with the way she saw herself, so seeing her slowly learn that she doesn't have to be prettier, quieter or “better” to be loved was really nice. And Theo never made her feel like she had to be someone else.
And oh Theo🤌😭! The little things Willa says, the things she likes, the things she doesn't even realise she's mentioned... he remembers all of it. And then the birthday surprise?? THE DRIVE-IN?? 😭
And when I thought okay, that's probably the biggest thing he's going to do... he literally turned their carriage house into a whole library for her at Christmas. 😭
The mystery did get a little messy towards the end but it was intriguing nonetheless. The epilogue was so satisfying that it got me emotional🤧!

This story follows Theo who finds out his best friend was in a car accident. When things don't quite add up, Theo heads to Honey Oak Harbor to find answers. But he decides to start a new life there without letting anyone know the real reason he came. Then he meets Willa and everything begins to change for him.
I absolutely loved this sweet summer romance between Theo and Willa! fa, l especially loved how patient Theo was with Willa due to her past relationship where she was made to feel like nothing and when he surprised her for her birthday like that was perfect and then Willa doing the same for him. Their love was so sweet. I also loved the side character Ember she actually reminded me a lot of myself
I also really enjoyed the mystery aspect of the story and trying to figure out what happened to Theo's best friend Matt. It added a suspense vibe that I was all about! When finding out who it was I really felt connected with some of the characters and the emotions that they were feeling (I read this book in a day and really enjoyed the mystery
aspect with the small town romance vibe

Review of Advanced Reader Copy
This book was the perfect touch of romance and mystery all wrapped up into one. There were times I simply couldn’t put it down. It was very well edited and flowed extremely easily. The growing love and feelings the characters had for each other felt so real which is a huge undertaking, so congratulations to the authors for that! This book gave you just enough shock without being overwhelming and just enough blissful blossoming young love without being cringy!
I don’t want to spoil too much of the book so I won’t deep dive into to the characters but the author leaves you rooting for them…all of them!! It’s awesome being able to relate and see personalities even from minor characters. And that’s rare to find in books like these.
This is an excellent cozy up book for any reader and I’m excited to see what comes next in the series!

Honey Kissed was a beautifully written, immersive read that wrapped an emotional story in the warmth of a cozy small town setting. The characters felt relatable and genuine, making it easy to become invested in Willa and Theo as they navigated grief, painful histories, and the possibility of beginning again.
I especially enjoyed the balance between the comforting atmosphere of Honey Oak Harbor and the heavier emotions beneath the surface. Tender, heartfelt, and full of hope, this was a lovely story about finding connection, and discovering that a new beginning may not erase the past, but it can help make the future feel possible.
This is for those who appreciate heartfelt love stories that balance a comforting atmosphere with grief, mystery, and the lingering weight of the past.
Thank you to the author for the ARC.

Honey Kissed had exactly the kind of cozy small-town charm I enjoy, but there was much more emotion underneath the sweetness. I really connected with Willa’s journey of starting over, finding friendship and slowly feeling at home again. Theo was lovely, and their banter was genuinely cute. 🩷
The mystery was another favourite part for me because I went in expecting a simple cozy romance and got a little investigation along the way. I just wanted more space for Willa and Theo’s relationship to develop because their chemistry deserved more little moments.
Overall, a warm, emotional and comforting read about grief, secrets, second chances and finding your way back to happiness. Perfect for anyone looking for a cozy romance with a little mystery tucked inside.

A huge thank you to Mary for the ARC!
I love adorable small towns, and Honey Oak Harbor hits a 10 on the cuteness scale. Between Sunflower Street and the Books in Bloom Library, it’s delightfully sweet, cozy comfort reading.
Willa and Theo won me over completely. Their banter is effortless, their dynamic builds naturally, and it was so refreshing to watch two leads actually handle their issues like real adults (also, he builds her a library—cue the tears!).
What really hooked me, though, was the mystery. The murder investigation was woven in so well, steadily building tension without overwhelming the story or feeling rushed, which made the reveal that much more satisfying.
If you love a low-stakes mystery paired with a heartfelt romance exploring grief and healing, this is definitely worth picking up.
Thank you again for letting me be an ARC reader! I’d love to read more from you!

You've got to be kiddingggg me!!!!! I can't believe that this is the first book by Author, I mean it's so impressive and I fell in love with the small town of Honey Oak Harbor. I wish I could live there, it's so cozy, sweet and wonderful.
I loved the mystery element in the book and it made the experience much more fascinating and interesting. Theo and Willa are the absolute cutest couple though they frustrated me with their no communication phase😭, but still I love my babies and their journey of falling for each other.
If you want cozy, small town romance, with mystery element and a gentleman then you need to read Honey Kissed by Mary.

This was a nice Hallmark movie. I did like how the relationship developed and grew between Theo and Willa. Yes they were attracted to each other at first sight but they also took it slow and the relationship developed like it would in real life. They worked through their problems together and had a happily ever after.
The mystery was a good little concept, I did figure it all out before the main characters but that’s ok.

Thank you for the ARC!
This story was so cute! I loved the love story between Theo and Willa. He was so sweet to her! The mystery of the story was good too, and I didn't expect the twist. The story is about Theo, and him coming to Honey Oak Harbor, and finding out the truth about his best friend Matt, and he meets Willa, and everything was so good after that! I highly recommend this one. It was sooooo good!! I actually cried, and laughed so many times. 🥰😊

Such a cute small-town romance, and it’s closed door!!
I absolutely loved this book! This novel follows Willa, a sweet but slightly antisocial librarian who’s a bit of a homebody, and Theo, an outsider who rolls into town determined to track down his best friend's killer.
What I liked most about the book was the mix between romance and mystery. As Theo and Willa are falling in love, Theo is also hunting for the person who hit and ran a year previously, killing Matt. This novel keeps you on your toes, but also melts your heart at the same time.

This was a quick and easy book. A little cheesy for me personally at times. But honestly if you’re looking for hallmark vibes with a little mystery involved this one’s probably right up your alley.
I gave it 3 stars because honestly for the build up of the story it felt very anticlimactic when it was all said and done.

I so enjoyed this book! It had an incredible love story and a quaint town mystery. Theo leaves the hustle of NYC to go to sleepy town of Honey Oak Harbor to find out what happened to his best friend Matt but when he gets there things don’t go according to plan. It’s a cozy town mystery about finding love and answers. Snuggle up with this read!!

If you’re looking for a soft, heartwarming romance that feels like a warm hug, THIS IS IT!
I absolutely loved Willa and Theo’s story. There was something about the way they found each other that genuinely felt like destiny had a little role to play. Willa comes to Honey Oak Harbor wanting to leave her past behind and start over, while Theo arrives looking for answers about his best friend. Neither of them came to town expecting their paths to cross the way they did, but somehow, they become exactly what the other needs.
I loved their chemistry, the banter, and especially how naturally their relationship developed. Willa helps Theo find his footing in Honey Oak, while Theo helps Willa understand that one bad relationship doesn’t define every relationship that comes after it. Their connection felt sweet, supportive and genuinely comforting.
And can we PLEASE talk about Honey Oak Harbor? It honestly felt like stepping into a little fairytale town. I loved the setting so much, and the map of Honey Oak Harbor with all the street names was such a cute detail. I actually found myself wanting to know more about the town and its people.
I was completely hooked on Willa and Theo till the very end. Their story gave me all the warm, happy feelings I was hoping for.
And honestly, kudos to Mary B. Gould because I still can’t believe this is a debut novel. The writing felt so effortless and the story was beautifully put together.
Such a lovely debut. I’m definitely curious to see what comes next in Honey Oak Harbor!

Review of advance copy received from Author
I received this as an ARC from the author.
Honey Kissed was such a cute, Hallmark worthy romance with a touch of mystery. The town is adorable, the FMC is sweet and a little feisty. The MMC is made of green flags, but he’s still a strong character.
The story follows Willa and Theo.
Theo is a tough and sweet mechanic who is trying to solve the mystery of what happened to his best friend and all clues lead to Honey Oak. But more than answers waits for him there in the form of Willa, who is a librarian and has secrets in her past she’d rather keep hidden. As the mystery unfolds, Willa and Theo find what they’re searching for in each other.
Overall this was a very enjoyable read. I think it would make a fantastic Hallmark movie. ❤️

I had the honor of receiving an ARC copy and greatly appreciated it!
Easily 4.5 stars! There were many times while reading that this felt like a Nicholas Sparks book to me, and he is my favorite romance author.
I fell in love with both the main characters, Willa and Theo. Both are broken from things that have happened to them in recent years. They find their way to each other and help one another know what it feels like to be loved.
I enjoyed the perspective changes and that the storyline continued on when changing perspectives. Some books you read, it jumps back in the storyline when changing perspectives. This one did not but rather kept the story going.
I found this story refreshing and liked the little bit of mystery that went along with the love story. I read so many psychological thrillers that I did figure out who did it prior to it being revealed (only reason it wasn't 5 stars for me).
I cannot wait for the next book in the Honey Oak Harbor series. I am secretly hoping we jump back in time and explore Matt and Theo with their fishing 🎣 trips and how Matt meets Hannah and explore that relationship.
