Dieses Buch hatte es tatsächlich geschafft, dass ich schon nach weniger als der Hälfte des Buches aufgehört habe und beschloss Erotika (vor allem die Vampirsorte) mal eine Weile nicht mehr zu lesen.
Ich hatte schon andere Bücher des Herausgebers gelesen also war ich nicht überrascht, dass seine Einleitung nichts weiter als Mist ist welcher Vampire als ewig virile und sexy und alles darstellt, trotz all der Beispiele die das Gegenteil beweisen. Und das Bild auf dem Deckel… das ist nur ein schlecht manipuliertes Bild eines Bel Ami Models, scheinbar war es nicht möglich ein eigentliches Vampirbild zu finden, obwohl ich es sofort schaffte:


Aber wie auch immer, das war ja nur der Herausgeber und die eigentlichen Autoren könnten ja besser sein. Leider hab ich da tierisch falsch gelegen.
Es ging schon früh los als die Schreibweise recht verwirrend sein konnte, wenn es z.B. nicht klar war wo welche Figur sich befindet. Allerdings könnte man sagen, dass so etwas vielleicht zu den oft dämlichen Geschichten passt. Bei einer war ein bisschen Oralsex (plus Blutbank und Pfleger für den Vampir sein) genug um Depression zu heilen. Bei einer anderen hatten wir wieder das Klischee, dass der Protagonist natürlich nicht an "übernatürliches" und so glaubt, obwohl er den Beweis ständig vor sich hat. Zumindest die dritte Geschichte fing etwas kreativer an als die davor aber da ich schon nicht mehr weiß was darin geschah, heißt das nicht viel. Und dann ging es los, ich hatte schon zum dritten Mal (nach gerade mal 20% des Buches) eine Geschichte wo der Vampir schwarze Haare, Muskeln und eine haarige Brust hatte. Entweder kopieren diese Autoren voneinander oder ihr Männergeschmack ist dermaßen begrenzt. Danach ging es weiter mit dummen Geschichten und dämlichen Vergleichen (z.B. dass der Vampire "tief und maskulin" riecht, "wie gealtertes Holz", was ich nicht als erotischen Geruch bezeichnen würde oder dass Bärte irgendwie in einem nassen, spuckehaften Gefühl resultieren). Danach gab es eine Geschichte wo der Vampir ausnahmsweise mal ein dominierender Bottom war aber es war auch lächerlich wie sie Wissenschaft mit Vampirismus mischen wollten (denn "es ist ein Virus" funktioniert nicht, wenn man den Vampiren so viele Kräfte gibt).
Im Großen und Ganzen hatten die Autoren manchmal interessante Ideen, wenn auch nicht unbedingt neu (wie Vampirsurfer und tantrische Yogis), aber genug anderes ist einfach nur dumm.
Dieses Buch ist aus meiner Sicht eine reine Zeitverschwendung.

This book actually succeeded in making me quit it after not even half the book, and caused me to put reading erotics (especially the vampire kind) on hold for the time being.
I had read books by the editor before and therefore was not surprised that his introduction was nothing more than garbage that depicts vampires as eternally virile and sexy and all, despite all the examples proving the contrary. And the picture on the cover… that is only a badly manipulated picture of a Bel Ami model, apparently it was not possible to get and actual vampire picture, even though I managed to do it right away:


But whatever, that was just the editor and the actual authors could be better after all. And boy was I wrong, really wrong.
It started early already with the style of writing that could be confusing, e.g. when it wasn't clear where a character was placed. However, you could say that this maybe fitting to the often stupendous stories. With one a little bit of oral sex (plus being a blood bank and caretaker for the vampire) was enough to cure depression. With another one we had the too often repeated cliché of the protagonist not believing in the "supernatural" despite all the provided evidence to the contrary that he sees all the time. At least the third story started a bit more creative, but since I have no idea anymore what happened in it, that doesn't mean much. And then it started, I had for the third time (after only 20 % of the book) a story where the vampire had black hair, muscles and a hairy chest. Either the authors copy each other or their taste in men is that limited. Afterwards it continued with dumb stories and idiotic similes (like a vampire having a "deep and masculine" scent, like "aged wood", which I would not call erotic, or that beards somehow cause a wet, saliva-like feeling). Afterwards we had a story where the vampire was a dominating bottom for once, but it was also ridiculous how they tried to mix science with vampirism (you see "it is a virus" does not work when you give the vampires so many powers).
All things considered the authors had interesting ideas sometimes, even though not necessarily new ones (like vampire surfers and tantric yogis), but plenty of other stuff was simply dumb.
From my perspective this book is a pure waste of time.
