In snowbound Wisconsin the egomaniacal Davenport is under pressure from all sides, as the defiant residents group - led by Sienna, Hadley and Jack Carter - plus some of his own people, refuse to obey his rules.
Perdition by Marcus Richardson and Mike Kraus sees the life-and-death challenges of many characters, including Wyatt and Willow Carter, who battle extreme circumstances on the long journey homeward. Treachery, danger and fear are contrasted with empathy, selflessness and determination, as the disparate sides clash or unite as circumstances dictate, but who will be the last ones left? Read Book 5 of the outstanding Wave of Ruin series, Perdition, right now to see where the story goes next!
Another good instalment in this well paced & interesting disaster thriller. A good end of the world adventure which I did enjoy & I am really looking forward to see how the series will end!
Sets up for an explosive finale while being a blast to read! Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2026 Perdition, book 5 in the still remarkably fun to read Wave Of Ruin series, brings Wyatt and Willow closer to home and Sierra, Jack, Hadley, Erin et al maintaining the homefront in Mucwanogo, WI while a whole new threat approaches and Davenport & Haestin still wreaking havoc in the neighborhood. Like every book in the series, the combination of Richardson and Kraus elevates the writing style of the other, resulting in a very fun reading experience. In addition, every single facet of the writing is exceptional, with every single word perfect placed and the characters, dialogue, descriptions, quality of the narration, plot and pace are, simply, perfect. Perdition also puts all the pieces, meticulously, in place for an action packed book 6. Overall, 5/5 stars, highly recommended for fans of apocalyptic survival thrillers and simply perfectly crafted thrillers. Perdition continues one of the most fun series to read this year!
This was a good book and lots of action both from Wyatt/Willow who are trying to get home and the Carter cul-de-sac trying to stave off predatory neighbors and outsiders. I do find it curious that Willow still tends to lapse to pre-disaster thinking, like being horrified at possibly shooting dogs who were pets even as the dogs were trying to get to them to eat the couple. It also still bothers me that the terrorists who started all of this never have made an appearance since the first book. Maybe they weren't that good at the terror thing, but seems a bit unlikely. I'm still very interested to see how this all wraps up.
Really enjoying this series. The fifth book Perdition doesn't disappoint. The story continues to keep you riveted and the dramas and dangers for our groups keeps you glued to your seats. Looking forward to the next book.
