When I was a boy, I met a girl.
She changed my life.
In such a good way.
She taught me so many amazing things. Like how to expect the unexpected. How to want something, but also how to wait for it when circumstances forced you to. She taught me about bravery and facing your fears, about beating the odds when it felt like everything was against you. She also taught me how to laugh and how to believe in magic. She taught me about things I never even knew existed.
She taught me how to love.

I was only five years old when I met Evie Roberts. I loved her then and I love her now. The only difference is, now she’s Evie Foster.

She’s already told you her side of the story. Now I’m going to tell you mine. Well, it’s all still our story, because really, without her, my story wouldn’t matter.

***Please note, this is a companion novella to Losing Me Finding You and should be read afterwards***

Waiting for You is a really sweet novella. This book is a companion to Losing Me Finding You and is told in Ben’s POV. It definitely shouldn’t be read without reading LMFY (which I loved!) first!
I fell hard. I fell in love with her long before I even knew what love was. I know what it is now though, and I’m still in love with her today. I’ll be in love with her for the rest of my life.
Eva and Ben have an epic, epic love story. Since meeting when they were very young children, they’ve had a special connection and are the only ones who share the burden of Eva’s secret – that she disappears on her birthday every four years and reappears in a new life with no memory of her previous lives. Their story hasn’t always been easy, in fact it’s been incredibly painful at times but they are finally seeing an end in sight to their problem.
No matter what’s happened between us, no matter all of the separations we’ve had to endure; the heartache, the hurt and the pain. All of it has been worth it for this. Every single second has been worth it to reach this one moment in time, right now.

As I said, this is Ben’s side of the story. He has documented their love story and all the times they’ve been separated by writing letters to Evie. Up until this point, she’s never read any of them. They have always been very open with each other, but he’s finally ready to share the raw stuff that he felt in the moment. So this novella is them sitting down, reading his letters and reliving their highs and lows, together.
But, and this is something I’m not proud of, you probably won’t like everything you read in here. Please just remember, back then, every time I wrote these letters, I didn’t know if I was ever going to see you again.

I enjoyed getting more time with these characters. If there is one thing that this book definitely did, it was to cement how much I adore Ben. He is simply amazing. I had mad love for him in LMFY, but this just reinforced those feelings. It was tragic at times to feel his heartbreak during the separations from Evie. He felt so powerless and confused yet he still tried everything he could to find her, a pattern to her everything, a solution, anything he could to bring her back to him. It was really amazing to see that side of things and also to see Evie and Ben together in their present working through things and growing even closer. I just love the commitment between them and how much I can actually feel that they are truly made for each other.
I love you with everything that I am, everything that I have, and everything I will ever be. I made a promise that I would always look after you, and I will. Forever Evie. Never forget that.

As much as I love these characters and their amazing love story, this felt a little repetitive at times. I wanted to hear Ben’s thoughts and feel everything they went through but it seems liked a lot of the same. Because really, how many different ways can you say ‘I miss you. I love you. Come back to me.’ I think I was expecting more actual scenes and not just recap of the emotion with just a mention of what happened. It actually made me pick up LMFY again and reread a couple of the scenes they were referring to because I didn’t fully recall the exact details. It’s not that I wanted a full retelling, I definitely didn’t, but I think I was just expecting more moments together, and not only the letters. Also, it was almost painful to not get . I was really expecting it and when it didn’t happen I can’t deny I was pretty disappointed.

I would recommend this for die-hard fans of the first novel. It’s really well written and definitely brimming with emotion. There are lots of feels and swoony moments from Ben, some heartache and steam too. I would just go in with the understanding that it’s mostly Ben’s letters to Evie and not a bunch of new scenes after what we saw in Losing Me Finding You, besides the one night where they are reading these letters.
“I’d wait forever for you.”

4.5 Ben is still my Ultimate Book Boyfriend STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meeting you was fate. Becoming your friend was a choice. But falling in love with you…that was beyond my control."

I absolutely LOVED LOSING ME FINDING YOU. It was one of my top books from last year, and a top 10 book ever. Ben Foster is my ultimate book boyfriend. Even only getting to see him through Evie's eyes he was still beyond amazing. But now seeing everything through Ben's eyes I think I fell love with him even more.

"How much I love her, how much I want and need her. Everything."

Ironically enough, it’s actually something that brings us closer together, even when it’s the one thing forcing us apart.

This is a companion novella so in a lot of ways getting Ben's POV was not a different story. I was able to see exactly what Ben went through when he was waiting for Evie and the impact it had on him and the impact it has on Evie finding this information out. Never once did I doubt his love for Evie or Evie's love for him but this book just solidified it that much more. It was definitely a great way to end this epic love story.

Such a beautiful conclusion to such a different love story. No drama or unnecessary problems. It's just a perfect telling of Ben's POV told through the letters he wrote while waiting for Evie.

I loved the timeline of events and the way the letters started at the beginning of Evie and Ben's relationship. This is not a re-telling of Losing Me Finding You; it's Ben's story. It's his perspective on Evie and what happens each time she disappears.

Ben Foster couldn't be more perfect. I adore him. But even more, I adore his love for Evie and Lucia.

Good companion

I loved Losing Me Finding You, so I was so excited for a little of Ben's story. I love Ben. He is so faithful and smitten. They are like star crossed lovers. Anyway, it was fun and full of emotions and sex. Good for a little add on. Everything takes place in one night pretty much. Very exhausting.

This was a great little add on that covers his side of the story, and features letters that he wrote her during her time away. I like that the author addressed the other families she had, but i wish there was more of an explanation. I still want a book of her brother!

I read Losing Me Finding You a while ago. It was until an unfortunate incident with my Kindle a few days ago that I ended up scrolling through my books and came across the book cover. That lead me to jump on Amazon to find other books by Natalie Ward. That was how I found this novella. I'm so glad I did.

I've always wondered what Ben did each time Evie disappeared. How he was feeling. How he explained where she was. WAITING FOR YOU gives us Ben's POV. How gutted he was, even the first time, when Evie "left". How desperate he was to find her and for her to remember. This book brought back all the angst from LMFY while at the same time solidifying why these two belonged with each other.

I'm so glad the author wrote this novella and that I discovered it.

This all takes place on the night Evie returns in February 2012. It's in Ben's POV and he gives her letters to read that he wrote to her during the times she had disappeared. She reads each letter then they talk about it. That is pretty much it. Nothing big is really revealed, except maybe a few answers you were wondering may have been answered. Mainly you see that Ben is just as awesome as we already knew.

Sweet

I enjoyed reading his POV... I couldn't put it down. You could feel his pain when Evie was gone, but you knew how much he loved her despite everything they went through.
Keeping things (a record of sort) from their past for Evie (memories & mementos she thought she lost) was so sweet..

I usually don't give a high rating to novellas (3 stars top) because most of the times I felt the romance is a kind of rushed but this is not the case. Beautiful story, a perfect complement to Losing Me Finding You. Ben POV was so sweet and he's so in love. Totally worth reading it!

I absolutely loved Losing Me, Finding You so this was a really sweet little bonus, getting to read Bens letters.
You should definitely read this after reading Losing Me, Finding You but I don't think it really adds much to the story. It's just a nice extra for those who want more from Ben.

I love Ben

Throughout Eve's story Ben was always there waiting. He is the true hero of both story's. He had to live life but never going forward until she came home to him. It would have been understandable if he let her go but he never did.
