Every installment of Captive Films I read, I fall even harder for these Johnson brothers. As much as I love all the KC crew, Riley and Dawson have stolen the show when it comes to this series.
2.2 takes place with Keatyn and Vanessa trying to play clean up from the Vegas trip that went array…
Vegas needs to change their slogan, because what happens in Vegas clearly does not stay there.
I love the Dawson/Vanessa storyline. I’m loving Riley like crazy. He is my boy and I really hope in the final installment of this series he can get it together, because right now he’s kind of a mess.
Both of these brothers have one major thing in common right now… they need to decide if they’re willing to take a risk. For love.
I adore this series. I love these characters. Jillian- you keep writing and I’ll keep reading! I will never grow tired of reading about this crew!
Captive Films 2.2 begins where things left off in our last episode. The beginning is best described as damage control. Unfortunately there is a whole lot that needs to be controlled and Vanessa and the crew are on it. I absolutely love seeing everyone ban together to fix things.
But now on to the important things: Vanessa and Dawson and Riley and Ariela.
I absolutely adore Vanessa and Dawson together. I wouldn’t have seen them together before, but as adults they are perfection. I love seeing how they grew up and how they continue to develop throughout the story. I can’t wait to see what happens with Dawson and the girls as they get further into their relationship with Vanessa.
Now Riley…you are killing me!! I desperately need things to get on track for these two. Riley has been a favorite for me since I read KC and I want so badly to see him settled and happy. I love the idea of Ariela and Riley back together, so obviously seeing him make mistakes breaks my heart. However, I trust Jillian and I think this growth is necessary for both of them.
I continue to champion this series and these characters. I don’t think I will ever get tired of reading about them. If Jillian wanted to write about them until they were in their sixties I will be here reading. If you haven’t given these a shot I highly recommend jumping in!

‘Hard to believe one stupid night in Vegas could ruin everything’ - Riley
In Episode 2.3 Keatyn gathers Riley, Knox, Dawson and Jennifer in her office as they all try to piece together exactly what happened the previous night. Vanessa gets busy in order to help spin the story so that Captive Films can make money instead of losing money or more importantly so they don’t lose Riley. But will it work? Will the public believe the tales being spun or will they fish out the truth?
Episode 2.3 Thoughts AWESOME heart to hear between Keatyn and Vanessa! Right now I find myself rooting for Vanessa and Dawson more than any other couple I want to see this two HAPPY. They deserve it. I love how Keatyn is all business and creative but I really hope that she can slow down. If not I’m scared of what could happen. Also I am looking forward to her and Aiden’s wedding!
Episode 2.4
(Pic taken from author's official website)
“Are you thinking of settling down with Jennifer?” -Keatyn “Uh, no. Maybe I could meet a cute little wine wench?” -Knox “I don’t even know what that is.” -Keatyn “Me either. I’ve never dated a normal girl” -Knox
After learning how the photos from Vegas were leaked Vanessa works a plan of action to peruse the guilty party leaving no room for denial. Ariela continues to take a stand against her ex and her father and she does so in a Keatyn-ish fashion. She gets creative.
Things with Vanessa and Dawson go from hot to cold in two seconds. I don’t k now who gives me more whiplash, these two or Riley and Ariela. Speaking of Riley, I am so pissed at him. I feel like he is acting to immature. He needs to get it together quick fast and in a hurry.
Fun Highlights: The photos… I’m Jealous… You should be happy for YOU… Good news… More photos… Cute little wine wench…
My Thoughts on Episode 2.4
In this epi Aiden and Riley have a heart to heart with some input from Keatyn but I think Riley may finally start to change his ways. He needs to stop running and covering his heartache up with liquor and women. It’s getting him nowhere. LITERALLY. With the way this episode ended I am curious and also hopeful that Know will get his own full length book. Pretty pretty please Jillian!!!
Appearances by Ariela Riley Jennifer Dawson Knox Dallas Vanessa Coffee Kyle Tyler Maggie Avery Harlow Ava
Another fun instalment from the gang, after the debarcle of Vegas PR puts on a positive spin. Dawson and Vanessa is heating up and Riley and Ariela still have to communicate!! Lots of other little things going on and I cannot wait for part 3. (Full review to come)
If it's possible this series gets better and better - and more captivating!!
Seeing how the whole Vegas debacle panned out was just great and getting more of Vanessa and Dawson too! Riley is clearly having issues and can't seem to get his head in the right direction.
I love the way Keatyn's mind works, (and Jillian's). I love Keatyn's devotion and friendship to those around her.
I love the way every chapter is a surprise. You never know which couple or character the story will focus on next. We have more from the drool worthy Dawson, can he get any sweeter? Then we have sass from Vanessa. Ariela is starting to realise that she's not going to be walked over by Collin and poor Riley is coming to terms that he will only ever love one woman. Keatyn and Aiden are looking to the future and the next generation is coming through the ranks with Avery starting to intern at Captive Films. I still need Cam to make an appearance though then my dreams with be complete.
You forget just how many amazing characters were created in The Keatyn Chronicles as each and every one of the gang we have come to love start to make an appearance in this next series.
I really am addicted!!!!

So after devouring the last episode I was super excited to dig back in and see what the gang would be up to next. The author has a way with writing that keeps you glued and you never know exactly what she has up her sleeve.
What I really enjoy about this series is that every chapter is told in a different person’s POV. I think that is what makes this a fantastic series. We get to be in all their heads. Each of them has things going on and I love how we get to know exactly what they are thinking.
This episode deals with how the nightmare in Vegas gets taken care of and also deals a lot with the relationship that is forming between Dawson and Vanessa. I have to admit that I really liked Vanessa at first but now not so much. I am finding her to be a little too jealous and as she puts it herself a “Bitch.”
“God, I’m such a bitch.”
I love the relationship Riley has with Keatyn and Aiden. He feels safe at their home and can open up and be truly honest with them. He listens to the advice they give him and even though sometimes it might not be what he wants to hear he honors their opinions and knows they never would judge him. They truly have the ideal friendship and the author really brings that out in this episode.
“You’re Riley Johnson. The boy who wanted to protect me even though you didn’t know I needed protecting. I don’t care what happens. We’re what makes this company successful. The Three of us.”
This episode kept me glued to my kindle but I was expecting a little more drama that had filled the pages in all the previous episodes. I will tell you this; the ending has me thinking the next one with be off the charts with angst. I cannot wait to dive in and find out exactly what is going to happen between Vanessa and Dawson. Dawson is an all around good guy that is super sweet and really cares for her. I just hope Vanessa can get over herself and see him for the wonderful man he is. I guess I will have to wait to find out.
In the aftermath of the Vegas mess, Keatyn gets everyone together to sort out the mess that has been left in the wake of the wild night. What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.
A great D & M between Vanessa and Keatyn gets me right on board with wanting Vanessa and Dawson to make things happen.
Oh Riley.. my heart so wants things to work out for him with Ariela - have loved this pair since Keatyn Chronicles, and will always want more for them.
Can't wait for the next episode to see where things go.....
I won the season 2 ARC from Jillian Dodd from her Keatyn Chronicles Group to give an honest opinion.
I'm re reading the KC series now because there was so much that I had missed/forgotten but when winning the damn season 2. Couldn't resist. I LOVE Keatyn, Dallas, Riley and everyone. Love how you get to see your people in the future and not imagine how things would turn out. Because sometimes it does not turn out how you think it would.
"Uncle Cam says if you don't use it will fall off and die. I'm pretty sure he was talking about your heart." Firstly the kids in the book are amazingly funny. Kids say the the damndest things ever. Swear this was my favorite. My favorite moments that prove how much I love it.
1. Vanessa and Dawson 2. Seeing Braxton 3. Hello Gracie with B's cousin and now this new guy. HELLO she's so much like Keats. Can't wait to see that play out 4. Updated Stockholm is awesome. 5. Riley going off the deep end because love isn't always perfect, it can be such a rollercoaster. So glad that you added this in there because love is not perfect. Riley and Areila's story is not over. Your cliffy on that made me gasp. I hit my hand on the bed and everything. My husband may or may not looked at my crazily. 6. Tyler is becoming one of my favorites. 7. Seeing Kym OMG she's married?! 8. The triplets are not so perfect. 9. Gracie acting? I loved it because she was always doing plays.
Idk if I can go on. There better be a season 3. I'm addicted! Chewing on my nails, crazy lazy addicted to the KC CREW. By the way. LOVE baby number 5's name..

This is episode 2.2 and it sees Vanessa and Keatyn doing what they can to limit the carnage from the events that took place in Las Vegas. I am definitely falling a little bit for the delightful Dawson, he is just gorgeous and throw Vanessa into his mix and I have a whole bundle of happy all wrapped up in one lovely package – I can’t wait to see what comes next for the two of them. Riley is as handsome as ever even though he has found himself at sixes and sevens at the minute, he is not sure what exactly he is doing but he is aware that he has a lot to lose if he doesn’t get a grip on his life and deal with everything that went south in Vegas because what happened there hasn’t stayed it has followed his sorry arse home! Collin is about to come a cropper at the hand of Ariela because this savvy woman is beginning to get to grips with the fact that he likes to disregard her and she is sick of being a doormat. She is ready to stand her ground and kick his ass to the curb – about time! The end of this volume sets it up beautifully for the episode 3and I can’t wait to see what Jillian has in store next.
I got an ARC copy of The entire Season 2 from my favorite author Jillian Dodd!!
What could be better or worse than Riley jumping ship and going to Vegas for a night of WTF.........
I really wanted to slap Riley and tell him to wake the feck up and go for the girl, but I think he needed to come to that conclusion on his own. The trip to Vegas was epic and ends with a phone call from jail and pictures all over the internet. What could have been a huge nightmare some how works out to a media dream for Captive Films.
I don't know how Jillian Dodd does it but every time I finish one of her books i crave more. This book was amazing. I love this crew and everything about them. Vanessa and Dawson just makes my heart lust for them, Keatyn and Aiden make me crave for that kind of love, and Riley makes me want to slap some sense into him. How all of these characters blend just keeps me wanting more and I don't know if I'll ever stop. Thanks Jillian for more Keatyn.
Jillian Dodd’s stories are so fun and colorful (literally and figuritively). I’m not a huge fan of serials. One of the reasons being that I just don’t feel like I get a complete story. This is not the case with this serial series. I was engrossed by each episode. They are written just like television shows and I have enjoyed them just the same… anxiously awaiting each new episode. They are short, but full of excitement. It’s been so fun and satisfying being able to sneak in an episode while waiting to pick up my son from school or while cooking dinner.
The characters from the Keatyn Chronicles are grown up and are now living lives as Hollywood’s elite trying to find their place in business and in love. Even though these focus on the characters while they are older, the novellas still have a way of making you feel young and giddy! I can’t get enought :)
This series is full of excitement, secrets, tummy flip-flopping swoon. With multiple pov’s we get more of the roller coaster ride with Riley and Ariella (and her husband), find out what happened to Whitney and what the future holds for Dawson and Vanessa… and of course there is plenty going on with Keatyn and Aiden!
I would recommend reading these as a companion to the Keatyn Chronicles, but I did read Season 1 prior to the final book of the Keatyn Chronicles series and had no problems catching up.
As with the previous season, Jillian Dodd has said she will treat it as a television show and the series continuation depends on readers!!!! With that being said, please note you will get a full story with each season, but you will be dying for the next by the time it ends.
Following Keatyn and her friends adults lives is fun and exciting. Although thet have grown up they are still having issue they thought they would have settled long ago. Vanessa is starting her life a new and finding that love was never gone in her life it was just waiting and biding it's time. Dawson realizes that he would never change his past, because although it has brought him pain it has also given him the best gift of all and now has lead him back to the person he never forgot. Keatyn is living the her dream about to get married to the man that has held her heart for over a decade. And Riley, well Riley is learning that he never stopped loving the girl that left him. Now let's see that brings us full circle to Arelia. Knowing now that she made the wrong choice and has come back to her life with the friends she left behind along with the man she loves, she is embracing her freedom and making changes to keep it that way. Will and Riley end up together is still up in the air, but hey that is why we watch or in this case read reality TV..(stories) A fun, thrilling and addicting read you will want more after the book is done making you one click fast than you can blink. The characters are endearing, even when they are misbehaving which in Riley's case is quite a bit, cuz you know he has that temper and all. Addicting just like all soap operas. I can;t wait to read what happens next.
Wow... things are heating up for the cast of Captive Films series.
What happened in Vegas did not stay in Vegas. Jobs are on the line. Careers are threatened. Stars are falling. Divorce Papers are in the works. Revelations are being made.
In the middle of it all is Riley Johnson, the sexy hot Captive Films executive. His job is on the line. His career is about to be destroyed because he can't let go of the past. Rather than face it, move on, and begin a new, he attempts to hide it away with parties, numerous women, and Vegas. Well now it's time for him to face the music and face himself.
Meanwhile his brother is finally coming out of his rut and beginning to live again. He has found a new purpose and possibly a new love.
Keatyn is the glue holding them all together, but she has her own things going on in her life. She wants to stop the fast lane life and demanding career. She is pregnant and wants to devote her time to her family. But first she has to get her team at Captive Films in order. Not an easy feat.
Again this episode ends on a cliffhanger...but not overly angsty. I think that is coming next.
I am enjoying the Captive Films series and look forward to the next episodes.
Review of "Captive Films" (Season 2, Volumes 1-3) By Jillian Dodd
Well, I received ARC's for these three books, in exchange for my honest review. These were the first books that I have read by author Jillian Dodd, and I guess it was my own fault for not knowing her style prior to my investment in this story. There were a lot of main characters and this story is told from all of their points of view. (which must be really hard to write, so awesome job there, Jillian!) It was really confusing and difficult for me to follow in the beginning and I found myself doing some back-tracking to try to remember who was who, probably because I didn't read Season 1 ;-). But, once I got in the groove and knew more of what was going on I really enjoyed it! It was fun and entertaining! When I got to the end I was so excited to see how it turned out. You know, I had all three books, so I thought there would be some sort of a conclusion to it all. Well, there wasn't, and I guess I will have to read the next 3 books to see what happens. I was very disappointed and upset for about 10 minutes. Lol. But, they were good books, and I am sure that I will read the next season as soon as it is available! After all, I really want to know how it all turns out!
This is a collective review for all three volumes in this season
This season continues on from where season one leaves off.
It wouldn't be a Jillian Dodd book without all the ups and downs that the characters from the Keatyn Chronicles being apparent throughout the books.
This series follows an epic night out in Vegas that Riley, Dawson,Jennifer and Knox partake in and the aftermath of this drunken mess!
The books once again alternate in multiple POV which I think is brilliant it's really a fresh way of writing and as a seasoned reader I loved how the individual stories merge together around our favourite book girlfriend Keatyn.
Jillian has added in Keatyn's lil sis Gracie into this season and I think it could lead to something from her in the future.
I just have to say that these books are well worth the read especially if you are a fan of the Keatyn Chronicles, I think Jillian has written these kids that are now adults brilliantly and has made the transition to this part of their lives flawlessly and for an author to develop these characters ten years later to me is no mean feat and I'm still as absorbed with these characters as I was with the original Novels.
I urge any fans of the KK books get these you will not be disappointed.
AHHH, my kindle crack is back and better than ever!!! As you all know I have a slight addiction to everything Keatyn. I would devour each book in the series and anxiously await the next one. Then the series was over and I really didn't know what I was going to do. BUT since Jillian Dodd is BRILLIANT, she took this kindle crack one step further. Hence Captive Films, Keatyn and the gang are all grown up and still causing trouble. Season One was fantastic and I loved the idea that it was a serial comparable to a TV series and it of course left me yearning for more. Now we move on to Season Two, which so far is EPIC! This season is running a little differently, instead of releasing one episode at a time they are coming out in two episode books, which I find to be much better. Gives you just enough more storyline and then BAM you need to come back for more. I love seeing the gang all grown up and in some cases reuniting plus the addition of a few new characters has me giddy. But in true Jillian Dodd fashion you are left at the end of the second episode with a dire need to move on for more!! I will say I think this season is even better than the first so far!!
So much happens in Season 2 Part 2. I feel like we really get to know the characters more, their true feelings and insecurities. I love getting everyone’s POVs. You really want everyone to get their HEAs but secretly love the drama and conflict. These are real life grown up problems they are dealing with, trying to figure out where they want their lives to go.
I’m so sad there is only one episode left in Season 2. You really feel like you know these characters, we have been a part of their lives since High School. Have I mentioned before how addicted I am to this serial?? Jillian Dodd is an amazing writing and presents a story like no other author I have read. It flows so well and the chapters fly by. She is by far one of my favorites and Captive Films will easily be on my best books list of 2015
Here we pick up with Keatyn and Vanessa still playing clean up from the Vegas Debacle! Each one of these leaves me wanting more, they are so very great!
Vanessa and Dawson are hot together. Riley is beginning to grow on me! But he still such a mess and has a lot of growing up to do.
I stopped watching traditional soap operas years ago and I actually do not watch much TV now but this series has roped me in and I love the saga in print! I actually think I enjoy these more than I did the Keatyn Chronicles. I enjoy seeing how the kids grew into great adults (Well except for Riley, but I have faith he will change!)
As long as Jillian keeps these coming I will continue reading! So addictive!
These books were unlike anything I had encountered previously... they are set out like a tv series with seasons and episodes which was strange but really good.
I haven't read the Keatyn Chronicles so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself in to and hadn't met the characters before.
I love that you get POV's from each of the characters and each character has their own thing going on so your getting many stories instead of just one.
I am absolutely addicted to these books... I read them one after the other and could have cried when I realised I had read them all and needed to wait for more.
The characters I love most - Riley and Ariela... They're story is definitely my favourite
Thanks to the author for a free book to read and review.
I'm loving this series, seriously.... can this get any better? It feels like my own reality tv show. Ariela is the best in this one. Her peom... EPIC! Loved it! So this one is full of the clean up from Riley's trip to Vegas, they did a wonderful job! I can barely stop reading to write a review because I'm just dying to continue. Five stars! Write MORE!
A bit meh. Sure it´s fun to read about my favorite characters as adults, but their stories are just not catching me. I think you can say the books didn't live up to my expectations. I hoped for things like the stars was always.only.for.you. I hoped for the same dynamic between Keatyn, Dallas and Riley like in the Keatyn Chronicles. I hoped for swoons and giggles, and unfortunately didn't get them :/
Jillian Dodd is an amazing author. Her writing keeps you captivated the whole time. Captive Films 2.2 continued the Season and keeps you enthralled the whole time. Keatyn and Vanessa are trying to clean up the mess that happened in Vegas. I have loved reading Riley's story line. I hope that he finally gets it together and works things out with Ariela. I love reading about all of these great characters. I can't wait to read more by Jillian Dodd.
I love this series more with each new release! Riley and Ariela just keep you guessing on what's next for them. Dawson's girls are too adorable for words! Dawson and Vanessa are so hot! I can't put it down and the wait until the next installment seems like an eternity! Jillian Dodd will always be one of my favorite authors :)
In these episodes (3&4) we see the fallout from the Vegas trip and how Keatyn handles it like a master! We catch up with Dawson and Vanessa ❤️❤️❤️. I really hope we get to see a happy ending for these two! This time, we get to delve even deeper into their characters and what they have been going through these last few years. I only wish my boy Riley could get it together!
