It's a bitter reality Lorenzo Moreno knows all too well. After his "good girl" fiancée blind sides him by cheating on him with her ex Lorenzo swears off relationships for a while, if not forever.
Until Fate steps in.
Unable to fight the incredible pull he feels to Olivia, a girl who was supposed to be just a meaningless one night stand, Lorenzo gives into his heart. But only after making one thing utterly clear. He will not deal with any exe's or other men in her life. Period.

It's why she willingly complies with Lorenzo's uncompromising stipulation.
As their relationship intensifies so do Lorenzo's suspicions about any man in her life. Determined to not be that weak girl anymore, Olivia demands to be trusted. Despite how vehement her new boyfriend can be, her diligence seems to be working.
But when an unforeseen crisis arises Olivia is forced to make a decision. A decision she knows in Lorenzo's jaded and suspicious mind could be unforgivable.

After I read the blurb, I thought this would be an interesting read. Unfortunately, it didn't end up really working for me.
This book starts off with a man named Lorenzo Moreno, who finds out that his girlfriend cheated on him with her baby daddy and immediately dumps her. The event completely altered Lorenzo, he has become distrustful and swears he will never fall in love with another girl. Olivia Romero hasn't fared too well either in the romance department. Her ex-boyfriend wasn't exactly the best, but she loved him. He was manipulative and would try to control her. After she finally had enough of it all, she leaves him. Nine months later, Olivia and Lorenzo meet at a bar. After they begin to talk, they realize that an attraction is there. So they decide to have one night together with no strings attached.
After their first encounter, I wasn't really feeling Lorenzo because he seemed like a jerk. Later on, they see each other again, and end seeing more of each other since Olivia becomes friends with Lorenzo's brother's wife. At first, Lorenzo is a total tool towards Olivia and they both try their best to avoid each other. The more they see each other, the more Lorenzo wants to have her and even give the relationship thing a try again.
These two characters had quite the baggage. I get that Lorenzo was cheated on and that this brought on some insecurities in his relationship with Olivia, but damn, I did not like how jealous he could be over every little thing. And then I hated how after being with a man who controlled Olivia and her not wanting it ever again, ends up in a new relationship and still she acted a tiny bit meek. I didn't like how she seemed to be walking on eggshells, and have to explain her every move whenever she thought Lorenzo was getting suspicious. I also didn't understand how she didn't see what her brothers and Lorenzo saw in her boss and her ex-boyfriend Jay, that they were both creepy and weird about her. I wish Olivia would have grown a backbone sooner, but I was glad that she finally did in the end. She wasn't all bad, I actually liked how loyal she was to those that truly meant something to her.
The entire focus of the book seemed to surrounded on Lorenzo's jealousy and Olivia's ex-boyfriend drama. I never felt an emotional connection between the two, and had trouble finding the romance in this one. There was only one scene that made my heart melt by Lorenzo's sweetness, but that quickly became overshadowed by all the times Lorenzo was a prick because of his green-eyed monster. As a result, I didn't like Lorenzo much. I knew this is what the book was going to be about, but I wanted more romance, more heart, more chemistry. Instead, I got too much drama, especially at the end that didn't do much for me. I'm really disappointed that this book wasn't what I expected, and that I wasn't able to love it. It could be a case of it's just me, not you. So who knows if you might enjoy it more than I did.
I have enjoyed a lot of this authors stories but this one was disappointing. It didn't really have a romantic feel. I didn't feel a connection with the hero and heroine and didn't really like them that much. The author didn't even give much of a description of them. The book starts with Lorenzo finding out his Fiancee had been seeing her ex behind his back. He swears he will never be hurt that way again and so he starts having one night stands and not wanting a commitment. However, one night he has a one night stand with Olivia but feels a connection to her which scares him and so he leaves her as soon as the deed is done. Not long after he bumps into her and it turns out she is the cousin of Romero (from the Moreno Brothers series). She then begins a friendship with his brothers wife so he starts to see her a lot. At first they both ignore one another but then in the next instance, Lorenzo confesses he feels something strongly for her and Olivia agrees and then suddenly they are in a relationship. The relationship is told to us more than shown to us. There is very little romance just a few sex scenes. The only dialogue they seem to have is him questioning her about her ex. There was no romantic talk.
Lorenzo does indeed have a 'suspicious mind' and yes I can understand why he felt mistrust but it just felt a bit juvenile. The storyline was predictable as was the 'baddie'. There was just something lacking in this story and I found myself getting bored and not really caring what became of them. Lorenzo wasn't much of a hero and Olivia was a disappointing heroine whereas this author normally writes great characters so I'm not sure what went wrong with this book but I was disappointed.
Well the title says it all. Lorenzo has dumped his fiancé after finding out she cheated on him with her ex and daughter's father. He swears it'll be some time, if ever, before he'll trust another woman again and if he does he'll be more diligent in making his feelings known that he will not tolerate other men in his woman's life.
About nine months later he meets Olivia at a bar and they go back to her place for some one-night-only-no-strings-attached fun.
Little do they know they'll be seeing each other again and often. Lorenzo is Vince's brother and Olivia is Romero's cousin. Ha! Lorenzo does his best to avoid Olivia but then out of the blue he does a complete one-eighty and makes Olivia his.
She's all for his "no talking to other men" rule even though she has a creepy boss and a psycho ex that she's got to know are going to give her grief. Lorenzo does his best not to let what happened with his ex-fiancé ruin things with Olivia but her having to explain every text and every convo with a man was starting to get insulting.
I thought Olivia was a bit naïve when it came to Jay and even though I thought Lorenzo was pretty heartless about it I can't believe Olivia didn't see that coming.
The whole scene surrounding Olivia's whereabouts was ridiculous. Seriously eye-roll worthy. I was happy that Olivia finally stood up for herself to Lorenzo though. It was about time.
Overall I didn't really hate it, didn't love it. It was just okay.
I’m not a fan of cheating in books or characters that have trust issues and get jealous, so I knew going in this might not be the best book for me. I still wanted to give this one a shot because I’m a fan of Elizabeth Reyes other series.
Lorenzo has had his heart and trust broken after he found out his girlfriend was cheating on him. Swearing off relationship Lorenzo ends up having a one night stand with Olivia. Olivia is cousins Romero for the Moreno Brothers series. After that night Olivia and Lorenzo haven’t seen each other for a while, once Olivia becomes friends with Lorenzo’s brother’s wife they start to spend more time together. As they spend time together their feelings for each other grow so do their trust issues.
I didn’t really care for Lorenzo’s “no talking to other men” rule. It was a little too controlling for my liking, but I understand why he wanted it that way. Olivia does eventually put her foot down with Lorenzo but for me it took a little too long.
Overall, I liked Suspicious Minds but Lorenzo or Olivia never wowed me. Half of the time I wanted to shake them.
This was a different kind of Elizabeth Reyes for me. Normally, we see amazing love stories coming from Reyes with wonderful alpha males and leading women all while their stories of love are being laid out for us. In this story, I found the same thing as above, a wonderful alpha mail and leading lady but Reyes threw in a lot of action and drama into this story.
What I loved about this book is how upfront these characters were. I thought as soon as Lorenzo stated that he would not accept another man in his girl’s life, I knew that this was going to cause a relationship stir (here comes the drama) but Liv was so brutally honest with everything that was going on that it never happened. I was trying to figure out what wrench was going to be chucked into the gears but never could. Reyes threw me for a loop. The loop that was added was not what I was expecting. Believe me when I said this book is different from the others.
This book is such another great addition to a fantastic series. It is always a pleasure to read the amazing worlds that Reyes can create and wonderful people that she makes fall in love. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~

I loved this book hardcore! Elizabeth Reyes is and will continue to be one of my favorite authors of all time! I know that her books will not work for everyone and some may not like them but for me, they will always be like coming home. She is one of the first authors I read when it came to New Adult and even though there is that small part of my brain that wants to argue and pick at little things, I just can't hate anything this author writes.
Lorenzo can be quite OTT and his crazy jealous and possessiveness can definitely be a bit much but this is one of those times where it just worked for me. He has a tough past but I can't exactly blame him for being so crazy at times and untrusting of women. Still, I would've liked to see him in a situation where he didn't blow things out of proportion with Olivia and show trust in her and their relationship. That is my only complaint when it comes to Lorenzo.
Olivia, to me was yet another heroine from this author that I loved. She is sweet, funny and very loyal to her friends and family. She also has a past that has left her a bit weary of men and her past relationship has taken a hit at her self-worth but she is determined to never let a man dictate how she feels about herself again. My only complaint with Olivia would be her acting dumb when it came to the other men in her life at times. I get that she was in no way interested in anyone but Lorenzo but she brushed them off a bit too easily. But I will commend her for not being like many other heroines in books and leading these men on, instead she would try and be straight-forward and honest from the beginning and did everything she could to be in an honest and open relationship with Lorenzo.
I forgot how much I love and miss these characters. The whole time I was reading this book I had to fight off the urge to read reread the whole series again, and take a trip back to the Moreno Brother series. My only hope is that Olivia's brothers will be getting their own books because they are too intriguing (and quite charming) not to.
I will forever be a fan of this author and my only wish is that she was more popular! I look forward to all future books by her!
There are lots of famous cheaters out there. Lance Armstrong. Ross Geller (even though they were on a break). Captain Kirk with that whole kobayashi maru debacle. And yes, I did have to google how to spell that.
Lorenzo thought he was in love. Until he found out she was cheating on him. Another cheater. Surely there must be women that don't cheat. But can Lorenzo allow himself to trust again?
Not all women were liars and cheats...He sucked at knowing the difference.
Olivia has had a really bad last few years. Her mom did. Her dad died. She moved. Her boyfriend ended up being an ass. All those combine to make her wary. She is concentrating on starting her business and taking care of her brothers and sister. But everyone needs a release right? So she decideds to have a one night stand to take the edge off. Another bad idea.
Olivia and Lorenzo find that both must learn to trust. Trust each other and themselves. They are drawn together but if it goes bad...and there are so many reasons why it could go badly....there are more people involved than just them. Their families are interwined.
But can they stay away?
She had a feeling from the moment she'd gotten a good look at all of him she'd be in for something amazing.
There are cute puppies, jealous boyfriends, football rivalries, hurried trips, ill friends, and a lot of conclusion jumping. As hard as they try not to, they make a sport out of jumping to conclusions.
This is the third in the Fate series, but they are connected to other Reyes's series so you get to catch up on other couples and families.
Elizabeth gets better and better every time. Lorenzo and Olivia are fantastic! Of course she's a Romero so she's fabulous and beautiful! LOVED IT! I can't wait for more Romero's! #ivettelovesromero
This was.. meh! Didn't really like Lorenzo and I wasn't keen on Liv either. Too much drama and exes and stupid best friends. It can across really high school and felt really flat for me. I didn't feel the connection love between either main protags.
since Enzo was introduced in Fate I just KNEW I would love him and I was so right! I can honestly say Fate is now my 2nd favorite because suspicious minds is now my number one!! it was a pleasure as always Eli!!!
You know those feelings that you get when the book you have been waiting to read for months arrives on your reading device? You're ecstatic because it made your day and you are nervous because you don't know what to expect or if it will live up to your expectations. I often mention that when I read a book I don't want to just read the story, I want to feel it as well. I want my heart to race at the first encounter, I want to feel butterflies in my stomach every time the characters are in the same room, I will cry with these characters when they feel broken, and I want to be next to them to support them in their difficult times. Olivia and Enzo's love story completely mesmerized me from beginning to end!
For those of you who have read The Moreno Brothers and Fate Series, you will be reunited with familiar faces in this book. If you have not read these awesome series, I suggest you add them to your TBR list ASAP! They are fun, romantic, unputtabledown and beautifully written. Elizabeth Reyes is one of my favorite authors. She can write the menu of The Moreno restaurant and I'll read it! LOL!!! :)
In this installment of the Fate Series we follow Olivia Romero and Lorenzo Moreno's passionate and intense love story. From their first encounter the chemistry between them is undeniable. After an explosive one night stand, Olivia and Enzo go their separate ways with no intention of ever seeing each other again. Fate has other plans. When their path's cross again, neither of them can deny the attraction that they feel towards each other. As days go by, those feelings keep on growing. They both decide to give their relationship a chance. Enzo is honest with what he's looking for. He's been burned in the past and does not want to be taken for a fool again. Olivia assures him that nobody will come between them, but when her past comes knocking on the door, will she keep her promise to Enzo or will she risk it all?
Words can't describe how much I loved Suspicious Minds! Like I mentioned before I had high expectations for this book. I have been waiting for Enzo's story since the moment I knew he was getting his own book. This book kept me up until early morning. After I closed my reading device, I had the biggest smile on my face and the worst book hangover! Suspicious Minds is filled with heart-melting moments, intense ones, and twist and turns that you will never see coming! I absolutely loved Olivia and Enzo! Their chemistry was super hot! Who knew that Enzo Moreno was such a dirty talker?? *Fans Self* I don't want to give anything else away about this story because you just have to feel every single emotions that this book will make you live!
It felt amazing to reunite with the Moreno's and the Romero's. The addition of Olivia and her siblings to this story was absolutely perfect! I connected with each of them, and I really hope that they are all going to get their own book. I'm especially rooting for Emilia, which is Olivia's younger sister, to get her own book. I specifically remember one scene that completely made me SQUEEEEEEE!!!! I was like WHAT?!?!?! Back-up!!! What did I just read????? Oh my God! Do I want this to be true?1?! Yes! Yes! I'm crossing my fingers that it will happen. I know that this is making no sense at the moment, but you will know exactly what I am talking about once you get to that scene ;)
I give, Suspicious Minds, by Elizabeth Reyes, 5 romantic, passionate, page-turning, exciting stars!
I have a special place in my heart for these sexy Moreno Men! I have been highly anticipating and wishing for Lorenzo's story, ever since I got the pleasure of learning so much about him in his older brother, Vincent Moreno's story, Fate. As my co-blogger, Mikki, would say, Lorenzo "Enzo" was "Muy Caliente!!!" This alpha male can give a woman a scalding hot temperature, and have her begging for more!!! Whew!
Enzo was engaged and then burned by a woman he loved, and trusted. Unfortunately, this became a catalyst for changing his monogamous ways. He went from wanting to have a serious and meaningful relationship to solely having one night stands to fulfill his physical needs. His life changes when he meets the beautiful and sexy Olivia Romero. They have a memorable and epic one night stand, but Enzo is quick to leave, because he is not ready for a relationship.
Then, fate steps in and pretty soon Enzo is seeing Olivia everywhere. He cannot deny his intense attraction or desire for her any longer, and she wants him just as much as he wants her. Therefore, they agree to begin an exclusive relationship with one another, on the condition that Olivia agrees to stay away from her ex-boyfriend. However, Olivia get's forced to make a difficult decision due to a precarious situation out of her control.
Suspicious Minds had an excellent cast of characters. I loved getting reunited with Vincent, Rose, Enzo, Romero, and all of the Moreno's. I also enjoyed meeting Olivia, and her siblings, Emilia "Emi", Isaiah, Nathan, and R.J. I would love to see each of them get their own story at some point. The romance and chemistry between Enzo and Olivia was sweet, as well as sizzling hot! Suspicious Minds was a real page-turner, and the suspense made the plot that much more exciting and addicting.
My Rating:
I give, Suspicious Minds, by Elizabeth Reyes, 4.5 Blazing Inferno, Suspenseful, Sexy, Overprotective Alpha-Male Filled Stars! Fans of the Moreno Family are in for another delectable reading treat by Ms. Reyes! If you are a romance addict, that wants a book that had both a character and plot-driven story, Suspicious Minds, by Elizabeth Reyes, is the perfect pick!
Another 5 star story from Elizabeth Reyes!!! I've decided that her books are like slipping into your favorite, most comfy pair of pj's...she has this magical way of connecting all her characters so you get to see what all they have been up to and even adds in little snipets of crossovers from her other series. I loved Lorenzo and Olivia and I love how she's not afraid to put her couples through the ringer. Can't wait to read the next installment and I'm hoping that somehow Sydney ends up as a permanent member of the Moreno family since it's been hinted that he is much older when his book comes out
Reading this book is like my bff read it and then retold me the hole book. I think it was a poor decision of the author to write the story in that way. To little interactions between the MC and the hole story with the hurt and afraid to trust man is getting old.... :-/
Minor characters: Vincent (his brother), Rosie (his sister in law); Isaiah, AJ & Nathan (her brothers), Emi (her sister), Elton (her boss), Jay (her ex), Margie (her best friend)
My thoughts:
I liked this one, but it had a lot of elements in it. First of all, I didn't love how controlling Lorenzo was. I get he's suspicious and why he's like that, but he seemed so controlling. Olivia made a point of saying she wouldn't let someone control her like Jay did, but she let Lorenzo. I just feel like he could've been handled better. He came off like a huge jerk a lot of the time, and the relationship was a little concerning.
I liked Olivia for the most part, but she spent a lot of time explaining Jay and it got old fast.
There were a lot of times when the author tried to build suspense and then the reveal happens and it's something small. Like Olivia commented several times on how Jay made her do shameful things, then it's revealed he forced her into a threesome. I get how that could have been shameful for her, but it's never brought up again. Or there are never any other elements that help enforce how he made her do things she wasn't comfortable with. Maybe had her relationship with Jay been shown it would have felt more authentic. Or maybe it would've just shown how similar Jay is to Lorenzo.
It was an ok book. I liked how it introduced her brothers and sister as new characters. But I think a story with trauma to the sister and overprotective brothers was handled better by Claudia Connor with the Walker series.
Synopsis:
Lorenzo is Vincent's younger brother. He joined the Air Force and when he got out he and Vincent started a firearms training school.
He met Linda and her daughter Nikki and fell in love. They got engaged within a year. His family thought he was rushing into things.
Linda went out of town to help her sick mom. The next day his friend called him to tell him Linda was in a car accident.
He rushes to her and Vincent is there. He warns Lorenzo that Linda was with another guy. He finds out she was with Nikki's father Patrick. He confronts her and she confesses she was confused. That she didn't mean to hurt him. And she slept with Patrick.
He's devastated and breaks up with her. He decides all women are liars and he's not putting himself out there again.
He starts sleeping around with girls from bars. One night he meets a girl and they connect, which scares him because he doesn't want connections.
They sleep together and he rushes out of her house as soon as they're done.
A few weeks later he goes to his cousin Sals house and the dog groomer shows up. He recognizes her as the girl from the bar. He finds out she's Romero's cousin.
Olivia is one of 5 kids. Her parents divorced and she took her moms side. Her mom was murdered and her family struggled.
Within a year their dad passed away. He left them a house and money so they moved.
She was best friends with Margie since childhood. She met Jay as kids and eventually it turned into a relationship. He was 19 and she was 15.
Jay was involved with some bad people and her brothers hated him so she kept it secret. He was jealous and controlling. He cheated on her and manipulated her into thinking it was her fault.
2 years after the move she saw on Facebook that Jay was in a relationship with Margie. A few days later she found out they were engaged.
She called Margie and she explained they started seeing each other after Olivia moved. That they were lonely and missed her and grew close.
She's upset over losing Margie more than Jay.
She wanted to start a dog grooming business and went to school for it. Elton owned the school. He made her uncomfortable and she mentioned it to her brothers. They hate him.
When she graduated Elton offered to partner with her to get her business started. She didn't want to use the money her dad left the family so she accepted the loan. She's determined to pay him off quickly, and he drops by often and asks her out.
She decides to go out for a one night stand after finding out about Margie and meets Lorenzo. She takes him home and as soon as he's done he leaves, which embarrasses her and makes her feel cheap. She thought they had a connection.
She sees him when she meets her new client Sal. She's hesitant with him and he thinks she might be seeing someone and cheated with him.
She goes to a reception and he shows up. He avoids her and she feels like he wants nothing to do with her. She remembers hearing about him being engaged and wonders if he cheated with her, which is why he's avoiding her.
At the reception he's drawn to her and it bothers him. He notices her avoiding him and gets irritated.
Vincent's wife Rosie hires her to groom their dog and they hit it off and become friends. She's thankful to have another girlfriend to talk to. She tells Rosie about Jay and Margie and about her one night stand.
One day Lorenzo goes over to hang out with Vincent and sees Olivia.
He wants to know more about her but doesn't want anyone to know he's interested. Rosie tells them about Olivia's ex. He thinks she might still be interested in her ex.
She's sad to find out Lorenzo is close to Rosie because she thought they could become friends. She knows if she was around him more she'd start to fall for him. She figures out he's single, which means he's avoiding her because he doesn't like her.
Lorenzo keeps seeing Olivia, even though she's trying to avoid him. He decides enough is enough and wants to get to know her.
Rosie invites Olivia over for lunch and Lorenzo comes over. Rosie asks her to stay. Vincent sends them to the store and Lorenzo tells her he's attracted to her. That he felt it the first time they met and he's been trying to deny it.
She's shocked and tells him she feels he same. He tells her he wants to try dating, but he won't do it if there are any other men in her life. She tells him there isn't and she's over Jay.
He calls her when she gets home and asks about her life. She explains what happened with her parents and why they moved. She tells him about Jay and how the relationship ended.
He's concerned he's a rebound. She explains he's not. That she was over Jay long before she moved, and she moved over 2 years ago. That she was hurt because she knows things will never be the same between her and Margie again.
She asks if she's his rebound girl. He explains she's not. That he was over Linda the moment he found out she cheated.
They date and have a great time, but are taking things slowly. They both feel an intense connection, but both worry the other isn't feeling it as strongly as quickly.
After 3 weeks together he plans a night away at his family beach house. They have a great time. She gets a text from Jay and Margie but she doesn't tell Lorenzo.
When she gets back home she calls Margie. Margie tells her she's pregnant. That she told Jay and he told her to get an abortion. That he loves Olivia and a baby will ruin their chances.
Olivia tells Margie she doesn't want to be with Jay. That the baby doesn't change anything.
Lorenzo calls and knows something's wrong. She tells him everything and he's jealous. He knows it's not Olivia's fault and tries to control it so he doesn't ruin their relationship.
Lorenzo goes golfing with his cousins and her brother Isaiah and they hit it off. Someone mentions her boss showing up and Isaiah and Lorenzo are both concerned. Lorenzo mentions her explaining Elton was a silent partner but Isaiah thought he just owned the loan.
They go out that night and she explains what happened with Elton. Lorenzo doesn't like it and tells her to call Elton and tell him he makes her uncomfortable. She texts him and he calls immediately to apologize. She feels bad but is glad it's over.
A few days later Elton shows up at one of her clients houses. He explains he got her a rare puppy. That someone owed him a favor and he requested it weeks ago.
When he leaves Jay shows up. She tells him they're finished but he's adamant he needs to talk to her. Her client shows up and Jay leaves.
Lorenzo gets called for volunteer duty. He accepts the offer and will be gone for a few days. When he gets home Olivia tells him what happened with Elton and Jay. He doesn't want to leave now knowing Jay is nearby. She promises to tell her brothers about Jay.
He leaves the next morning and Jay calls. Jay tells her Margie is missing. That she got into drugs and had a threesome with two other guys. That she was high and didn't remember so he didn't tell her. Then she found out she was pregnant and he doesn't know if the baby is his.
He told Margie what happened and she snapped. She stopped taking her meds. The guys she slept with found out and Jay thinks they might hurt her.
Olivia drops everything and flies back home to find Margie. She loses her phone at the airport and only knows Emi's number by heart. She tells Emi what's going on.
They find Margie with one of the guys and get her home safely. She finally calls Lorenzo and he's furious.
She tries to explain it was all for Margie but he can't get over how much time she spent with Jay. He breaks up with her and she's devastated.
She decides to go home and decides she's not going to beg Lorenzo anymore. That he's discarded her like she wasn't important, just like Jay did.
She gets an early flight home. She cancelled her appointments and Elton called concerned. She explained what happened and he offered to pick her up at the airport. He kidnaps her.
Emi gets concerned when she doesn't hear from Olivia and goes to Lorenzo for help. He tells her he hasn't spoken to Olivia, or read her texts.
The day passes and no one has heard from her and they're all panicked. Romero, who works as an investigator, explains that their mom was kidnapped and murdered. That the family is vigilant about checking in with each other. Lorenzo panics.
They get ahold of Jay and find out he doesn't have her. They find out she got on the flight. No one knows who could have taken her and Lorenzo remembers flowers she got from a secret admirer. He knows it's Elton.
Elton drugged her and tied her to a chair. When she came to he tried to pretend she was so upset over Lorenzo that she asked him to take her to his cabin to settle.
She asks to call her brothers and he tells her he spoke to them and told them she's fine. She knows he's lying because her brothers hate him.
She finds a iron poker and hits him with it to run. Elton grabs her and her brothers show up. AJ beats him and has to be pulled away.
She's taken to the hospital and doesn't want to see Lorenzo. He understands and decides to fight for her.
He texts her daily that he loves her and will be waiting whenever she's ready to talk to him. Isaiah tells her he can tell Lorenzo is in love with her. She decides to take him back.
She goes to Lorenzo and he apologizes for everything. She tells him she understands his jealousy but he needs to trust her.
They get back together and eventually move in together. On their first anniversary he gives proposes. She says yes.

The thing about a Moreno is, they are intense, caring, loving and sexy as hell. Lorenzo was willing to give the world to his fiancee, but one thing Moreno's don't deal with is cheating. Those guys do not share and make this very clear. Why anyone would want to cheat on Lorenzo simply boggles my mind. He such a sweet and good guy, all wrapped up in one hot package. So girl was a fool and poor Lorenzo has been hurt by the experience.
His trust in women is broken, so relationships are out of the question and one night stands are the only safe thing he can do. Until one of those nights steps fully into his life as Olivia Romero, cousin to one of his friends. The night they had was spectacular, and he admits to have been thinking about her. Still seeing her again is too much, too soon. What they felt that night, turns out it wasn't a fluke. There is this real connection between them, and it becomes very difficult to deny it any longer.
Things quickly evolve between them, but there are still some obvious trust issues from Lorenzo. I can understand where he's coming from, and nobody wants to be fooled twice, but at times his suspicions got to be a bit too much. Luckily Olivia is understanding about that, and she's open towards him about her contact with other men. There is never an issue, unless it's about her ex.
Now Olivia's ex is an ass. They've had a difficult past, but she's clearly over that guy and very much in love with Lorenzo. When there is trouble in her hometown involving her best friend and her ex, that's when the real problems arise. That's at least the case in Lorenzo's head. When trust is broken, it needs time to heal, but to me it always seemed that Olivia had to earn Lorenzo's trust when she had done nothing wrong. I wouldn't be able to deal with that, but luckily she could.
When you mix Moreno with Romero, you know there are going to be fireworks. Besides the one-sided trust issues, everything went pretty smoothly. The way this relationship between them works is like a dream. I mean, Lorenzo is a dreamy guy, and anyone would be lucky to call him boyfriend. Olivia is also amazing. She's strong, independent and has a sexual confidence about her that's admirable. These two work very well together, it's really other people that's causing the trouble.
Suspicious Minds was a great and entertaining story. Besides the love part, there is also some mystery and even action involved. That was quite a surprise to me, but I liked it. Lorenzo's suspicions at times was a bit too much for me, but I liked how matter-of-fact Olivia dealt with those. Moreno and Romero together also means a lot of passion and those scenes were extremely hot.
*I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review*
I never turn down a book by Elizabeth Reyes. All the books that I've read by her are really good, and Suspicious Minds in no different. This is the third book in her Fate series. I have not read the other two, but you can bet I will now. I was not lost whatsoever having not read the previous books.
Lorenzo has been badly burned by his ex fiancée. He is determined to never let another woman get close enough again to hurt him. He has many, many one night stands to keep the burn of the anger and hurt at bay. Olivia "Liv" just found out that her ex boyfriend is now engaged to who she thought was her best friend. Her relationship with him was toxic, and it was over long before she officially put an end to it, but she didn't see their engagement coming. Especially not from her best friend. When she hears the news she does something so out of character for her: she has a one night stand.
Wouldn't you know it, hot, sexy Lorenzo is the lucky guy. From the first time they lay eyes on each other, they can't stop thinking about the other. They keep running in to each other, and FINALLY give in to the attraction and pull. But Lorenzo lays out some ground rules to protect his heart. Liv is all too happy to agree to his rules of honesty and not sharing. At all. When tragedy strikes and Liv has to deal with her ex, it seems like it may be enough to tear them apart.
I absolutely loved Liv and Lorenzo together. They were the perfect fit. I really enjoyed their interaction with the other characters. Now I'm going to have to go back and read the first two stories. As expected, this book was really well written. We get to see some of the characters from the author's Moreno Brother's series, which if you haven't read, I highly suggest that you do. Suspicious Minds is another great book by Elizabeth Reyes to add to my collection.
I’ve always loved Elizabeth Reyes books. Her main characters are always so realistic in personality and demeanor. Her supporting cast that keeps building with each book are equally as realistic and also entertaining. I still love Romero and his jokes. It’s actually a little weird to watch all the past couples get older and make babies.
In this book, we have both a heroine and hero that have been screwed over by their first loves. The hero was cheated on by his ex-fiance when she still had feelings for her baby daddy. The heroine was jerked around for years by a childhood and high school sweetheart.
Both of them aren’t ready for a relationship when they have a one night stand and part ways but fate steps in and pulls them together over and over again until they give in to their connection.
Unfortunately, the hero has trust issues and seems to be waiting for the heroine to mess up. I didn’t quite feel their love or connection after they got together. It was sort of something that accelerated pretty fast once they officially started dating and the read had to take their word for it. The sex scenes were hot and well-written. Elizabeth Reyes is definitely stepping up her game.
The plots outside of the romance were actually the reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of the average 3 stars. They were interesting and surprised me a couple of times. The fact that so much was going on entertained me and kept me reading this book almost nonstop from beginning to end.
I have a handful of books from Elizabeth Reyes that I haven’t read yet, but plan to get to during the remainder of 2015. She’s one of my favorite contemporary romance authors because she invents realistic characters and always gives good plot.
First of I like to state that I love Elizabeth's writing and I have enjoyed all of her books. However, this book got me a little unnerved. I understand that Lorenzo had a previous bad relationship that made him question every innocent action Livi made but he took it to the extreme by not allowing any kind of trust based on his own feelings that Livi was his true love and soul mate (soul mates don't cheat!). Then, Livi always trying to alleviated Lorenzo's doubts by explaining her every move (ugh!) she could not do anything without questioning herself and wondering if Lorenzo will be ok with it (come on!) I think the jelousy and doubts were a little over board. She was becoming in my opinion paranoid allowing him to control her life that way. Booh! (ladies, don't allow any man to manipulate you like that ever!... it's not healthy).
Ladies correct me if I am wrong but I think that Livi should have made Lorenzo wait and grovel a lot longer than a week to take him back after all he put her through and she should have not gone to his house to reconcile. Lorenzo should have been the one making the "Grand Gesture" not her, and she said “I said I won’t sacrifice my dignity for any man ever again.” (really?) I think her dignity pretty much went down the drain when she showed up at his house.

Suspicious Minds by Elizabeth Reyes Fate Series Book Three Lorenzo Moreno is as alpha male, as all the Moreno's are. And as handsome. These guys can be real sweethearts and charmers, but once you've done them wrong...you are done. After being burned in a relationship, Lorenzo wrote all relationships off. Only one night stands for this guy.
Olivia Romero lets go for one evening after receiving some bad news. One night to wipe out memories of her past. The one night was supposed to be forgettable as well, only Fate seems to have a different twist for her.
Yes, Olivia is related to the infamous Romero with the quick temper, as the reader will see her brothers carry that 'temper' gene too. Take two people who are damaged and cautious of relationships. Add a Moreno and Romero into the mix and you have an exciting, dangerous, sexual and explosive story. Lorenzo is Vince's brother from book one in this series, Fate. Hang on and enjoy the ride as once again this author takes the readers down a road full of unexpected turns. **Sexual content and language http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
I am totally addicted to Elizabeth Reyes books so much. She knows how to create such addicting novels that you cannot put down from the first page. I have been waiting for Lorenzo to get his own story. I am definitely in love with Lorenzo character after I finish reading Suspicious Minds. He does not trust any good women since he went through a nasty breakup. He does not like any men involve with women since he has trust issues. But it does not stop him forming a relationship with Olivia. And I cannot blame him. Olivia seem a cute women since Olivia has went through a lot of thing in her relationships that it takes some time for her to open up to Lorenzo. However, there are times that I just wanted to shake her since she seem to trusting to another men. There may be some drama going between them but it will make them stronger if they can go through it. Reader will not be disappointment when they read Suspicious Minds because you will fall in love with the same overprotective sexy Alpha men. *Four Star*
I really enjoyed Lorenzo and Olivia's story. They both have been through some difficult situations in past relationships, which has resulted in guarded hearts and suspicious minds. To say Enzo is highly suspicious of any man involved with Livy is the biggest understatement of the century. I can sympathize with him, even though it was extreme at times. He's lucky Livy had endless amounts of patience with him. But, who wouldn't at least try for someone like him. He was so sweet and hot! These two had instant chemistry, and I loved how their lives kept intersecting. It was so great to see the Morenos and Romeros again as well. There was a lot of suspense with this story, which made it hard to put down. Livy's ex proved to be a manipulative jerk, and her 'boss' was creepy. It was no wonder Enzo had trouble keeping it together. I really liked her strength and resolve to never be taken advantage of again, even by Lorenzo. A great couple with an exciting story!
We first met Enzo in the first installment of the Fate series. Which is all about his brother Vince and Rose. Enzo captivated us with his bad boy appeal, but more so with his sense of humor and unyielding loyalty. So of course he needed his own story. We needed to know what type of woman could catch this fantastic fantasy of man. Olivia walks onto the scene not only is she sensitive to others but she does have a little more badass to her, after all she is a Romero. If you don't know what that means start at with the Moreno series. You'll get it rather quickly why that means something lol. This as is with all Elizabeth Reyes books a must read. Cheaters will eventually be caught, good girls can lie, trusting people can be broken, love isn't always love, and until you've really felt it you don't know what love is. Just read it and be swept away into a world of different types of heartbreaks and learning to follow your heart even when your head tells you that you shouldn't.
Lorenzo is done with serious relationships after his engagement ended. He only wants romantic interactions with women the last the night. Olivia wants to forget her past and a one-night stand with a hot stranger is just what she needs. But from the moment these two meet, they're drawn to each other. Each needs to move on from the past to see that they're fated to be together.
Suspicious Minds is everything you would expect from an Elizabeth Reyes Fate novel and more. You have a smokin' hot, jealous alpha male in Lorenzo. You have a strong, beautiful woman in Olivia. There are hot nights and an intense story line. You get a glimpse at not only Vince & Rosie's lives, but Romero and his crazy uncles, too. And then (surprise!) you get suspense as well.
Overall, Suspicious Minds is a thrilling and romantic read. Definitely a must read for fans of Ms. Reyes' books. I can't wait to see what's next in this or any of her other series.
Lorenzo Moreno is an Air Force reserve pilot with a promising career and looks to kill. He is a catch and any woman would be lucky to have him. He gets burned by a clueless woman and now he swears he'll never trust women again.
Olivia Romero is a a successful entrepreneur that has curves to make any man salivate. She is independent, knows what she wants but had a very destructive relationship that has her questioning her self worth.
One fateful night brings Lorenzo and Olivia together. It should have been one night only but destiny has other plans. Now Lorenzo needs to learn to over come his trust issues and Olivia needs to realize that she is stronger than she thinks. Will their past prevent them from having a future together?
How can I put in words of what I felt reading this book and do it justice. I love it, Lorenzo it's so intense, my God a 100% Moreno alpha who is sweet and gentleman enough but also hard and blinded with jealousy!! I love him. And Livi it's the perfect match for him. I love the Romero's also they just like Moreno's overprotective with their family. I will like to hear more about them. A story for Isaiah, Nathan, A. J. and sweet Emi who reminds me of sweet Sofie in her earlier years. Elizabeth you nailed like always. I don't get tired of telling you I love all your books, I have read all of them and always wait anxiously for more. Your my favorite author!
