Love Always Lindisfarne

Rate this book
Book 4 of the delightful Lindisfarne series. Can be read as a standalone, but for a richer reader experience why not start at the beginning of the heartwarming story and join Ellie as she leaves London and discovers the beauty of Northumberland...

Take a magical trip to stunning Northumberland via the pages of this feel-good romantic comedy by award winning writer Kimberley Adams. Full of warmth and joy, it will leave you with a wide smile and a yearning to visit this iconic location in person.

When the almost unbelievable truth about Kittiwake Penaluna’s heritage comes to light, the residents are shocked, but in true island fashion they rally together to protect their fledgling chick as she faces life-changing revelations.

Meanwhile, the island mourns the loss of its beloved village butcher, and the closure of the shop on Main Street leaves a hole at the heart of the community. Then, when other businesses unexpectedly close, rumours begin to circulate about who might be behind the unsettling changes.

As familiar faces depart, new ones arrive, but not everything is as it seems. And when a despised figure from the past returns, old tensions resurface and the island is thrown into further turmoil.

Amid the chaos, Ellie and Zen finally begin preparing for their long-awaited wedding, but as always on the island, nothing goes quite according to plan. With difficult decisions to make and obstacles to overcome, they soon discover that they can weather any storm, because love always endures on Lindisfarne…

Finally, Ellie & Zen are preparing for their wedding. A wedding the whole town has been waiting for and are eager to help make it a truly magical day.

In the last book we met a 16 year old orphan named Kittiwake and now everything about her backstory gets wrapped up with a neat little bow. And it was really sweet. There's, also, a little bit of craziness happening to get the people riled up.

What I love the most is how the islanders really come together. Whether by rallying around each other when animosity comes around them, or by lending a helping hand when needed, they're always available when it counts. It really makes it seem like a place I'd like to visit one day.

Overall, I wasn't as fully engaged with this one as I was with the others in the series, but it still had some sweet moments and was enjoyable nonetheless.

Series notes:
Although the author says this can be read as a standalone I do not agree. An open ended storyline from book 3 continues on here, and the characters lives are progressing, so it's best to get the background and start at the beginning.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well Kimberley has well and truly done it again.... another beautiful and enjoyable read 📚

It was so lovely to revisit Lindisfarne and all it's beautiful quirky characters and animals.

The fourth book in the Lindisfarne series was definitely worth the wait 👌

The islanders suffer a terrible lose after Stan the village butcher passes away suddenly leaving behind his wife, not knowing what to do she goes off to visit her twin nieces 😢 On her return to the island she makes a plan to keep Stans memory very much alive along with his famous pies!

Kitti's true identity comes out and the islanders all pull together to keep it private, whilst she trys to build a relationship with her biological father.

Businesses are shutting and closing down which causes some unrest and questions on the island when no one knows what's going on. Some people just aren't what people expected.... some old and new faces cause some distress and upset amongst the regulars.

Ellie and Zen finally make it down the isle, not without problems and things happening out of there control..... whilst Ellie frets about the day the islanders do what they know best and pull off a beautiful day for them both!

With new people, new businesses and new animals thr island starts to calm down and the residents start to settle.

Rumour has it that this is the last in the series 🤔 I really do hope not, I could read about Lindisfarne and its residents all the time... so Kimberley Adams no resting for you we need a book five 😊

For anyone who hasn't read these books then do yourself a favour and join the Lindisfarne readers and residents for a truly magical, beautiful journey!

My Opinion

Love Always Lindisfarne is the fourth book in the Love Lindisfarne series and whilst it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the books in order. This was a delightful addition to the series. I have been enjoying this series as Kimberley Adams has created some lovely characters. An easy read with a charming writing style.

Holy Island once more provides a great setting for this story of family, friendship and community. There is plenty of romance in the air, with Ellie and Zen planning thier upcoming marriage and proving what a close partnership they have. With humour to be found amongst the animals and the villagers, it is a lively and entertaining read.

Central to the story is Kittiwake, who makes a huge discovery about her origin and her biological father. although the truth is a shock to all the villagers. They rally around her as she tries to get to know her roots. You also see how each villager is important to the community and when some are left, either through death or retirement off the island, the effect on everyone is huge. Newcomers to the island bring their own backstories and the arrival of the two sisters cause a few raised eyebrows. This is a fun and entertaining read which takes the story of the community further on.

In short: new beginnings and old friendships

Another brilliant book to add to this terrific series. If you, like me, enjoy a little light relief from time to time, then this is the series for you. Kim Adams has created a fun-packed community that I wish were real. I have come to love each and every one of them. Well, with the odd exception.

Once again, Ellie and Zen are at the centre of the story as plans are afoot for their forthcoming nuptials. Of course, things aren’t going to go according to plan, but the amazing community on Lindisfarne always shines when under pressure. There are highs and lows as we learn more about Kittiwake Penaluna’s backstory and say goodbye to a beloved villager. Sadly, we also say a begrudging hello again to a less-than-desirable former inhabitant.

The magic of Kim’s writing is difficult to pinpoint, as there are so many wonderful aspects to it. From her zany imagination, her witty banter, and clear love for the local area to her undoubted skill with comedic timing, her writing is the real deal and shouldn’t be missed.

I am unsure if this will be our final trip to Holy Island, but I do hope not. I have thoroughly enjoyed each visit, and it has been a breath of fresh air to read this hilarious author.

The fourth book in Adams' series, Love Always Lindisfarne is a delightful inclusion to the series and one I enjoyed immensely.

It was great to be back on Holy Island, catching up with characters of old, meeting new faces, and saying a sad farewell to a much loved resident.

Adams writes with heart and humour bringing the island and its community to life with charm, appeal, and an overwhelming urge to move...
