I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

# OF STARS 5/5 Genre: Paranormal Pages: 130
Overview:
The Italian Alpha, Salvatore Esposito, crossed an ocean and dared to venture into unfriendly territory to hunt for his missing sister in Willow Bend.. He'll do anything to get her back, even if it means he must resist chasing the fierce enforcer who wakens his primal beast...anything.

As an enforcer, Margo Montgomery monitors the lone wolves. She is in the middle of investigating missing wolves from multiple territories when the order comes in to escort the Salvatore to Willow Bend. There's bad blood between her and the current Alpha of Willow Bend, but they soon discover a new danger--a lone wolf gone rogue.

Now Margo must hunt the rogue--a pursuit made all the more dangerous because it becomes readily apparent the rogue they seek isn't alone and Salvatore refuses to be left behind--not when wolves are vanishing without a trace...

ARC Review:
I love how Heather gives us a mini introduction to all the characters before we start the book.
This is book 4 in the series of Wolves of Willow Bend. I have not read any of the other books in the series so my review is solely on this book. It can be read as a standalone or as a continuation of the series. The other books in the series are Wolf Law #0, Wolf Bite #1, Caged Wolf #2, and Wolf Claimed #3.

The book starts off with wolves missing from different packs and a really hot Alpha from another country. Seems like there might be some sparks between Salvatore and Margo wonder what will happen? Margo can’t catch a break she now has to help Salvatore find his sister. There is some basic family drama that we can all relate to. Love the fact I have to look up words I don’t see every day when reading helps to expand my knowledge.

Oh shoot someone stepped over a line wonder what will happen because of it? Fighting their attraction to each other is getting harder. They are hot on the trail of both the missing sister and the wolves what will they find next? Will they figure out what is going on before it’s too late?
They are attacked and all hell breaks loose what will be the final outcome? They find the missing wolves and the sister but no one was prepared for what they found. Who will come out on top and what will the consequences be?

The final outcome leaves you on the edge and makes you very upset with Heather. But oh my gosh what a great book. I can’t wait to read the next part.

received an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest review.
upon realizing that this was book 4 in the series and checking the descriptions of the others in the series I opted to read the whole series in order and I am really pleased that I did.
One thing I loved about this series was the consistency of events, relationships, heirachy, etc. Each book blends seamlessly into the timeline and it is especially noteworthy that even though the prequel was released after book 3, it was, when read in order, able to set up the series particularly well.
Rogue Wolf can be read as a stand-alone but it gains a lot from reading the earlier books.
I always love it when a character that I find myself disliking in early books in a series, gets their own story and turns around every bad thought so that you find you can't help but love them. This was the case for me with Margo. We see how she has best looked after her people over the years by riding the rules close to the edge even though she has always held herself to strong principles and she shows her strength in standing up to the enforcers and being prepared to face the consequences of her actions when she allows herself to form a relationship with Salvatore.
This book also again enforced the strength of character of Mason, the alpha of Willow Bend.
It was excellent reading. The storylines in the whole series are quite cohesive and the books are well written.

Rogue Wolf(Wolves of Willow Bend #1) -Heather Long

Enforcer Margo Montgomery has been given a job to pick up Italian Alpha, Salvatore Esposito and take him to Willow Bend. His looking for his sister and has been granted time from the US Willow Bend Alpha to search for her. But there's one stipulation and it's non-negotiable and that is to keep Margo with him. They both have work to do but this is also a journey for them both. For Margo it's not only about finding a missing sister and wolves but one of self discovery and love. And for Salvatore it's all about his sister until he lays eyes on a stubborn female who defies him at every turn. Time changes everyone. And not everything is as it seems!

Wow this book is absolutely awesome. I LOVED it! The storyline is interesting and detailed. The characters, well I just loved them. Salvatore is a strong alpha male who is dominant and powerful. Margo is a tough independent woman who doesn't bow to anyone especially alphas. I loved the banter between them, at times was halarious and they had great chemistry which came across perfectly. This book from start to finish was non stop action and I love it. There were a few grammatical errors but in no way does it sully the outcome. I highly recommend it!'

Rogue Wolf (Wolves of Willow Bend #4)
by Heather Long

This book is Packed! No pun intended.....or maybe it is.... ;-)

Margo, dominate, Enforcer. She expects to spend her life alone, as per the pack laws. She has lone wolves that she is responsible for keeping track of. Making sure they don't go rogue or if they do.....taking care of them. Her life can be lonely, but it is what she wants....or does she?
Salvatore, Italian Alpha. Requests entrance to the U.S. to locate his sister, who he believes was forced to leave Italy.

His escort is Margo, who he is instantly attracted to. The American pack laws are very confusing to him. He does not understand how wolves can be 'lone wolves', when wolves are pack. And to not be able to take a mate is way beyond his comprehension, especially when he sets his sights on Margo.

This story has a Lone Wolf Enforcer who has to follow a certain set of rules, but find she wants something else. A dominate Italian Alpha who wants what he wants and pushes for it. A lone wolf that is tired of being alone and a renegade sister who wants to help others, but goes about it the wrong way.

Yes, this book is packed....in more ways then one.

Can't wait to see what Ms. Long will have for us next.

I was given this book as an Arc and just asked to read it and give my honest review. Here is what I found. Honor, passion, loyalty, friendship and some hot sexual contact is what you will be entised by when you dive into this wonderful book. The characters are well written and have so much personality I really enjoyed reading this story. It is written on a unique perspective of wolf packs, rogue wolves and the loan wolves who are enforcer. This book is unique and unlike other shifter books out there and this is a wonderful thing because it keeps you interested and does not get boring. Oh and the chemistry between Margo and Salvator is oh so HOT! I definately will have to read the rest of Ms. Longs books because this one got me hooked.

Exciting and entertaining
Well written self-contained story even though part of a series. Enforcer Margo has been given an assignment to escort Italian Alpha Salvatore Esposito to the Willow Bend pack. Even though she doesn't want to go to where her family is because they keep trying to talk her into coming back. Plus she and the current Alpha don’t really see eye to eye. Salvatore is trying to find his sister and Margo is still working on finding out what’s been happening to all the missing rouge wolfs. Sparks fly between her and the Italian Alpha but as an enforcer she can’t have ties. Well written and very entertaining to read.

This is the first time reading this author and I definitly recommend her work. You fall in love with all the characters and she holds your attention with the great story line. This book is filled with action and romance all bundled up together. It is full of dominate males and females and it also has some dominate submissions. This is a definate must read for shifter lovers, and if your new the genre then it is a great first book.

Wow, this was so different from
other shifter stories I have read. Different laws than what I am familiar with. Made a very interesting read for me. I loved the main characters Margo and Salvatoire. An enforcer and an Italian alpha. On the hunt for the Italian's missing sister have them traveling together and getting to know one another better. Heather did a great job with this story. It flowed for me really well and kept my interest throughout.

Margo, a loner, an Enforcer meets an Alpha from Italy. I knew when I first met the two together, it was a mating in the making. I laughed so much at some of the actions between these two, and others. What are you waiting for? Get it today!

This is one of my favorite Willow Bend books even though I didn't have much love for Margo when I started reading it. The drool worthy Italian Alpha Salvatore, the strong, snarky and sometimes brutal Enforcer Margo, a missing sister, a rogue lone wolf and of course the ever not so lovable Julian.

Mason is the Alpha who grants Salvatore entry to the US to search for his sister and Margo is the enforcer who collects him from the airport and escorts him to Willow Bend. A trip that is quite amusing as Margo takes offense at just about everything Salvatore says.

The search for the Alpha's sister brings forth a realization that is not in the least comforting. Not to the enforcers and certainly not to Mason.

For Margo another unsettling truth could mean her death, but maybe for a chance at something more if she is willing to take it.

We meet a lot of enforcers in this one, including the powerful and mysterious Julian. Plenty of interaction with Mason and Willow Bend including a showdown or two with Margo's mother.

Fast paced, intriguing, sensuous and witty, don't miss this book!

Best so far with great main characters.
I really enjoyed how this one played out. Great plot.
We met Margo in book one and though she was a tough nut, she was protective, quietly supportive and likeable.
In this book she meets Salvatore, an Italian alpha who is on the search for his missing sister.
These two are perfect mates for each other, as is proven as this story unfolds.
Luciana, the missing sister has stored up a hornets nest amongst the lone wolves.
Loved the ending, both with the rogue pack and in Rome.
I read and reviewed this series more years ago than I want to remember.
Seeing there are a lot more books added to this series, I am rereading them through Kindle Unlimited.

I purchased books 1-3 together as an Amazon deal. I read them over the weekend. I liked the story development and the characters so much that over the last two weeks, I have read books 4 through 10. The characters were well developed, and although each book was a standalone, there was thread of continuity and overlapping characters throughout. The story came to life and the last book, although not a cliffie, makes you really want to read the next one (which is not out until March, 2017). Well worth your time and money to read the series.

I love love loved this story!

It was sexy and intense, full of tension and intrigue. Margo is such a badass, strong and independent. Salvatore is so alpha, intense and stoic. When the two clashed, it was interesting, entertaining, and so damn sexy. And solving the mystery of the missing wolves and Luciana... definitely intense!

Somewhere between 2.5 and 3 stars 🌟

The ending was the let down for me. We built up to this good level of suspense over these missing wolves….and then it was over.

And I know the 6th alpha storyline will continue in the series but it just felt like a nothing kinda ending for this particular story.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone book. I found it to be a captivating and well written book. Most paranormal stories are fairly light reading but Ms Long's book had depth.
It starts out with an enforcer, Margo, driving somewhere, and she gets a text message which reads but doesn't respond to, followed by a call from her handler (for lack of a better word) who says he needs to talk to her and to call him back asap. It turns out she is rescuing a human friend from an abusive husband. The friend gets in the car and she tells her that this time she is going to a women's shelter and she is leaving him for good. Then she tells her to stay and gets out of the car, goes in the house and proceeds to beat the crap out of him. Then she dropped her at a shelter but she had called the woman's parents and her mother was there to meet her. Apparently she was afraid to tell them what was going on. I should say that the enforcer's are not supposed to have human friends but the friend had been one of her only friends while she was in boarding school and Margo always took care of her friends.
From this point on the story picks up speed starting with her call back to Justin, the handler. He has an assignment that he asks her to take, escorting an Italian alpha to the Willow Bend pack lands. It happens to be the pack she was originally from so she doesn't want to go there, also the current alpha doesn't like her. They have a history going back to when he was a lone wolf in her territory & yes, you guessed it, she beat the crap out of him. But she only did it as part of her enforcer duties. I won't go into detail as you will learn the nuances of the enforcers jobs when you read the story.
The alpha, Salvatore, that she is escorting is a very strong alpha but she holds her own against him. I love the scene when they meet in the airport, it's quite the standoff. I really like Margo, she's one tough cookie! Of course it sparks some heat between them, which she of course ignores. The undercurrent of attraction between them is present through the story (and lord what an end!) as they deal with Salvatore's missing sister, the problem she has been working on - pack wolves and lone wolves going missing, and her other duties as an enforcer. Salvatore allowed an American lone wolf to reside in his territory in Italy & the wolf had kidnapped his sister & gone back to America.
Ms long weaves several storylines seamlessly into the book making the story interesting and difficult to put down. There is enough history in the book that the reader is not left wondering what they missed. I haven't read the rest of the books in this series but I think I will be buying them! I would highly recommend this book.

She's an independent wolf, an Enforcer charged with keeping lone wolves in check so they don't go rogue. He's the Alpha of the Seven Hills pack in Italy who has come to America to look for his sister. Margo and Salvatore, a seemingly mismatched pair if ever there was one. However, the sexual tension between these two is so hot you almost need oven mitts for your ereader! When Jacob, the closest thing to a leader the Enforcers have, tells Margo she has to babysit a visiting Alpha from Italy and take him to get permission from Mason, the Alpha of the Willow Bend pack, to enter his territory to look for his sister, Margo is totally pissed off. Firstly, she is working on a case looking for missing wolves whose numbers keep growing bigger and bigger. Secondly, she knows Mason can't stand her, and they definitely rub each other the wrong way. Thirdly, she's not a damn babysitter! Needless to say, her frame of mind when she picks up Salvatore from the airport reflects this, and they get into it right from the start. Salvatore is used to female wolves who don't talk back to an Alpha and, although he is attracted to Margo, he doesn't quite know what to make of her, as she pretty much challenges him on everything. When they get to the Willow Bend pack, Mason gives him permission to look for his sister, as long as Margo goes along with him. The sparks fly as they commence looking for Luciana, Salvatore's sister, who may or may not have gone off with a male wolf willingly. As their quest gets tangled up with the case of the missing wolves, things get more and more complicated with the case, and with their relationship. Enforcers have some very strange rules and, when they're broken....well, let's just leave it at that! Rogue Wolf was a totally delightful fluid read. I enjoyed the interaction between Margo and Salvatore immensely, as I did the strong secondary characters. The plot was intricate enough to keep your interest with a few riveting surprises along the way. The romance was Hot, with a capital H. I cannot believe I haven't found Heather Long's books before, but I am definitely fangirling here. (ARC provided for an independent review)

I am always delighted when I get the opportunity to read this author. With so many books and so little time I still had to read this one. I am aware of enforcers in packs and they play a big part but not often do I come across them being the focus of a storyline. Even more exciting in this one is one is a female and being a little prejudice here being a female love reading when they have their stuff together enough to play a important role in a pack such as this. Margo is a enforcer that is investigating missing wolves in the area. The enforcers in here are also lone wolves which is very well explained in here what that all means. She is also asked to help a visiting alpha from Italy to hunt for his sister. Salvatore is also a very determined alpha but also they have a few different view points then here in America one being females really should not be enforcers. Right away I so love the banter that this author has got going on between the two of these characters, it is the final piece I would say on how she sneakily glues you to this story in case if what proceeded before wasn't enough. After meeting with the alpha of Willow Bend whom she does have a history with, in fact there are others there she has with also. Even though these are the two prominent characters there are quite a few that are a delight to meet and contribute to this story. Also of course there are a few that will be stinkers too. This action of his sister will also be what changes the course of his and Margo's future as we go along with them in their quest to locate his sister and answers will also be given on those other missing wolves. It will be discovered what is really going on and who is behind it all that will be turning things upside down. Salvatore will also find something he didn't expect his mate but the consequences of that will be one of the things that will put you on edge a time or two because you do want love to win even if it is said to be forbidden. One intense read that will fill you up and satisfy you to the core. Received a arc for a honest review.

~~~ ARC Gifted by the Author for a honest Review~~
“Come between me and mine I will end you.”
This last week I’ve had the pleasure of reading a few great reads from new to me authors. Heather Long is one of them. Honestly I wasn’t sure about this when I first started reading. Every story needs a beginning and for me the beginning kind of dragged on. But as I continued to read the story line and its characters captured me and it was easy to want to keep reading.
The heroine wasn’t some sissy la-la but a wise, sassy and quick to say what she feels to anyone. The Hero yes alpha personified and though he knew, the packs and politics were different than his in his home land...he gave the female the space to be what she was.
Lone wolves has no pack, mates and friends are sparse, they live their life in service of the packs nationwide. The lone wolves up hold pack law and police the wolves under their jurisdiction.
Salvatore - a powerful alpha from Italy in search of his missing sister and a male wolf. He is pretty much old school in his way of thinking but is smart enough to know that when in a new territory to abide their customs and laws.
Margo - a lone wolf she only answers to one her Prime-Enforcer, she is on a mission when she is called in to babysit an out of town alpha looking for a lost sibling.
After the initial beginning I so fell in love with this story. My heart when out to both lead characters and loved each of their personalities. A bit of mystery, with some snarkiness from the characters. Honor, passion and loyalty, bonds of friendship and some pretty intensely sexy encounters. This is book 4 and I hadn’t read the ones before but it didn't take too much from this story at all. I’d recommend it to anyone that is looking for a shifter read... Enjoy
ROGUE WOLF by HEATHER LONG
First off allow me to thank Ms. Long for granting me the honor of ARC'ing her new book ROGUE WOLF. Rogue Wolf is actually the first book of Ms. Longs that I have read. It's the 4th in the series . I liked it enough that now I plan on getting the first 3 to read then hope to continue with the series. Ms. Long has a good grasp on how to keep the reader interested and wanting to find out what's going to happen next. I couldn't put the book down. I read it straight through from start to finish before I put it down. It was that good. I recommend it to everyone who likes wolf shifters.
Rogue Wolf is a refreshing change to most typical wolf shifter books. The pack laws and dynamics are different in that though the pacts have enforcers that keep the peace so to speak, these same enforcers are themselves lone wolfs. Forbidden to love, mate, belong to a pack, or even have family of their own or be apart of the one they are born into. To do so risks punishment by death for breaking their laws. These same enforcers can be male or female.
The main characters in Rogue Wolf are Margo and Salvatore. Let me just say that Salvatore sounds yummy enough that if pulling him literally out of the book to me was a possibility his butt would be sitting right here beside me while writing this. Only I probably wouldn't be writing this now if he was. Just saying. I loved how strong, witty protective and caring he was. Margo was a fun character also. She was very tough on herself as well as others. Very protective and smart. I really loved the witty batter between her a Salvatore. This book left me wanting to read more about the couple. I hope they are in more books.
Well thank you again Ms. Long. Happy writing,
Lisa Cottrell
P.S. Also thank you all that read this posting of mine. Happy reading everyone
• Margo Montgomery is an enforcer for the 5 packs in North America. Salvatore Esposito is the Italian Alpha who has come to the states to find his sister who went missing with an American lone wolf. Margo’s job to not only protect the packs is to police the lone wolves. She is assigned to accompany and assist Salvatore while he looks for his sister. The two clash head on not only in how they will search and Margo’s role in the process but also in Margo’s role with the packs. Salvatore wants to protect and possess Margo , but she wants to honor her choice and the laws of her position.
• I was offered this ARC by the author. It is one of the books in the Wolves of Willow Bend series. Since I prefer to read books in order I did go out and purchase the other books and read them first. That being said I could have read the book as a stand alone as the story was that good. If you have the chance though I do say read them in order as it deepens the story as you see how the characters relationships began. I loved that Margo’s strength an honor guides her through the tough decisions she has had to make or were forced upon her through out her life. Salvatore starts out at what seems the typical alpha in that he expects all to bow to his will and his decisions. Margo confronts his beliefs and expectations of what a female can do. The story grows their relationship so well you can almost fell the emotions behind the words. I recommend this book as you will find a strong woman who can be dominant and an Alpha that respects and trusts that dominancy with out feeling threatened.
I was given this book to read and review. This is the first book of the Wolves of Willow Bend Series I have read. Rogue Wolf Book4 by Heather Long is a author that is talented and this is the kind of story that I really enjoy reading and this is a great read.
I like the start of the story Heather gives you a run down of all the characters before you start to read the story. This is the four book in the series but each book can be read as a standalone novel. There are three books in the series I have not read but after reading book four my curiosity to read other books in the series is one I know I am going to satisfy.
In the beginng there are wolves missing from the packs, this brings in the Alpha Salvatore from another country. There is some tension between Salvatore and Margo. Unfortunately for Margo nothing is going right for her for now she's being ask to help find Salvatore sister. The family is having some drama. Salvatore and Margo are having to ignore the attraction between the two of them and it's getting harder. While they are trailing the wolves that has his sister, they must figure out what is going on? When they are attacked and have to fight. They caught up with the wolves and Salvatore sister but they aren't prepared for what they find.
The storyline leaves you on the edge of your seat. But it makes you want to read the next book and leaves you hoping that next book in the series is available. Now if you are like me you can read the past issues while you wait or if the next book is available you will want to read two at a time to get caught up with the Author.
This Is A Great Read
