Primitive Roads

Brandon Scott, the author of B'flat Johnny, brings you the perilous adventure of Primitive Roads as Sam Dillinger and Jarrod Hatley, friends since high school seek to escape to the Wallonomont Wilderness area on a backpacking trip. On their journey they meet the strange likes of Crazy Esther and Billy Dixon, people on the fringes of society and encounter good conversation at the local cafes from the owners along the road to the Wilderness. The trip takes a turn for the worse when they encounter a militia group deep in the Wallonomont, and what intends to be an escape from their routine lives quickly turns to a battle for survival. Filled with mystery and suspense, this adventure takes you on an unexpected ride through a dangerous and violent encounter.

Damned be the singed voice, scourged by the mythical sun, eternally disguised as the caw of the Raven . . .

The Raven: To tell you that the story takes place from beginning to end would be a lie. I haven’t lied to you yet, and all together is something I am earnestly trying to avoid. As black as my feathers are, I can say with all sincerity that my realities may differ somewhat from the way you may think of reality, such consecutive moments, or contiguous degrees, from point ’A’ to point ‘B‘, a straight line, or even a perfect circle, or what you call a square or perfect cube. It is with the birds of black, (though if you look closely at us in the sunlight you may see hues of blue and purple and green and other mysterious colors in nature) , that the raven sees life occurring simultaneously, that is, past, present, and future blending as one. So if you believe that you have learned something about life along your path and journey, collecting certain wisdoms from point ’A’ to point ’B’ while analyzing the mistakes that you have made along the way, you might want to hold on for the future and not judge the past too harshly.

If I could speak, and you could hear me with understanding, then this is what I would say of Sam Dillinger’s perilous adventure, ominous and foreboding, perpetuated by momentum, into the Wallonomont Wilderness.
