The Falcon Club #1

Falling for Him

Rate this book
*Intended for readers 18+

Erica Kennedy was excited about starting her freshman year of college at State University with her best friend Monica. Out of the blue, her parents surprised everyone with a divorce that quickly turned nasty and she was forced to change all of her plans for the fall. Now, no longer attending State, Erica enrolls in Bishop University, a local four-year school geared more for older, working adults and those serving in the military at the nearby Air Force Base.

Being one of the younger students, Erica feels out of place. With two of her classes actually being on the military base, she’s even more uncertain because the classes there are filled with good looking military men along with another interesting group who wear gray jumpsuits bearing the name The Falcon Club.

One guy in particular, Jaime, catches her attention and she can’t resist the urge to find out more about him.

Not sure if it’s luck or just coincidence, Erica is placed in a study group with Jaime and the mystery behind his gray jumpsuit becomes even more intriguing as does her attraction to him. What she thought was just an elite military group turns out to be so much more.

In discovering the truth, can she stop herself from falling even more for him or will she take her chances and risk everything for a relationship with him?

The Falcon Club: Falling for Him, told from Erica’s point of view, is the first book in the two-part series. It will conclude with The Falcon Club: Falling for Her, Jaime’s story, which is told from his point of view.

The Falcon Club is like no other club you have read about before!

****PLEASE NOTE****
Falling for Him does have a CLIFFHANGER ending.

I love a good college based romance, I think it all hails back to my love of She's All That and Ten Things I hate About You, regardless when I come across a new one I get excited so to be offered the opportunity to read Amy Stephen's new book was a dream come true.

After some unfortunate home events, Erica Kennedy is sent to a rather unique college that houses classes in a military base and one that caters mostly to working adults, this unfamiliar setting and much older crowd seems to emphasize how young Erica actually is. She may be a typical freshman, she has the same insecurities and fears and dreams and crushes like any girl her age and I think Amy demonstrated her character to perfection, she was naïve, slightly immature but when she ends up sharing a class with some hot shot jumpsuit wearing guys her interest is immediately piqued.

Jaime is the beautiful mysterious Hispanic man that catches the eye of the impressionable Erica even though he is a thirteen years her senior. At times this was a little strange to fathom being that she is only eighteen and it did feel kind of wrong especially when the terrific story took a turn into insta-lust territory without much interaction or conversation between the two of them but the connection and the simmering sexual tension does pick up with Erica and Jaime spending more time together and getting to know one another which brings a much needed depth and semblance of normality to the relationship especially when you factor in Jaime's big 'secret'. Falling For Him was such a brilliant refreshing perspective on the usual college romance novel, there was a surprise or two as well as Erica's character showing some progression towards maturity towards the end. Again the only thing that annoyed me a little was the fairly abrupt conclusion which wasn't conclusion at all but a cliff-hanger. It's a great plot with some good dialogue and characterisation however I think the love connection needed a bit more work as I just wasn't feeling Jaime's emotions, it felt like a case of lust for him rather than an epic romance involving a lifetime of commitment but I'm hoping when his viewpoint rolls around in Falling for Her I will feel a lot differently.

Falling for him by Amy Stephens

I received this book for an honest review.

Shut the front door!! I was not expecting this book at all. I read the synopsis and really didn’t know what to think or expect but was blown away by it. I think the author really got into my head at times and has her character voice the same concerns I had over Jamie. Every single time she did it (and then resolved my and the characters fears) I was like “Well played Amy!”

So this book is about Erica who is really in a bad place. Her life has virtually been turned upside down in 4 months. What she had originally planned for herself is now all ruined. She decides to not sit around and hate everything but actually try and make the best of it. She enrolls in a non-traditional school to get her college degree. The school has classes on a military base as well as a traditional campus. She stumbles into her first class and is given a seat next to a tall drink of water names Jamie. HELLO he must be a military guy if he is taking classes here right??

Jamie and Erica have a vibe. I mean vibe is just how you describe it. They are very comfy around each other but not really knowing each other. She knows he is different…hello he wears a jump suit and has long hair for a guy in the service but whatever he is hot annnd older so that is fine.

The two get paired up with others in a project. Erica is starting to dress a little sexier for Jamie to try and get his attention. She knows he is older but she is gonna flirt and have fun. When one of her project members spills the beans about Jamie….WE ARE FLOORED. My eyes popped like this @@!!!! Omg the self -doubt and pain of hearing about our hottie was too much for her and me!!

When Jamie and Erica have a “show down” my heart hurt like hers did but Jamie Jamie Jamie can sure make us forgive him *Snickers* So now our couple is “dating” but graduation is drawing near…..how will they make this work? Can they make this work? My heart hurt and then I realized there was only like 5% left and I was like “Uhm Amy get this HEA going girl!!” and then she did it…she dropped the biggest bomb of all…and friends it’s not an HEA it’s a CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love and hate her all in one breath!! LOL

***ARC For An Honest Review***

Ok, so when I read the synopsis of this book I just could not wait to read it. It sounded like something that I love to read. College girl that had an unexpected life event happen sees guy in a uniform and immediately is attracted to him. I mean, who can turn away from a guy in uniform? Even if it is just a gray jumpsuit with the name Falcon Club on it. I really liked how the author didn't come right out and tell you what the Falcon Club is. It stays a mystery for a while and it makes you not want to put this book down for that reason. Yes, I do admit that at first it did take me a little while to get into the book, but after a little while I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the 2nd one to come out which sounds like is going to be Jaime's side of the story. I like reading the guys POV! I know this review is short, but I am one of those people that don't like to post spoilers, because I am always tempted to read them before I read the book. With that said, like I said earlier, yes the book is a little slow starting at first, but I promise you won't be sorry that you read it. Just remember, that first part does have some mystery in it.

I just want to give a big THANKS to the author for letting me read this book! I really enjoyed it. :) Can't wait for #2!

Ok, go into this book blind. Don't let anyone spoil it. I loved the twist and was taken totally by surprise. And, CLIFFHANGER! so beware. Now to impatiently wait for book 2.
So, why not 5 stars? I felt kind of disconnected from the characters. Maybe because its told in 1st person from Erica only or maybe because I just couldn't figure out what to think of her. Not sure. I don't dislike her; I just don't love her like I do in a 5 star book. And because you don't know what Jamie is thinking, he is much harder to get a good read on, ya know. But, the next book is his POV, and I certainly plan to read!

5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

Amy Stephens does an amazing job with this start of this new series. I was very intrigued with the blurb so I, of course, signed up for the ARC. I immediately guessed what the Falcon club was because I've been around enough military bases to know. Even though my suspicions were correct, I didn't let that ruin it for me. I was completely wrapped up in the story. I'm left going crazy now with how it ends (or I should say, the lack of ending). I need to know how it plays out. Hopefully I don't have to wait too long into Summer to read Falling for Her.

Say what??? After that you couldn't pull me away! I loved the unanswered questions and the angst about the future. No fair on the ending! I need more Jaime and I can't wait for book 2!!

After reading the synopsis I could not pass up the opportunity to read this book. I was intrigued, the whole girl meets boy involving University, Military and mysterious grey jumpsuits???
Erica is a 19 year old girl who thought she had her life mapped out, she would graduate from high school senior year, be attending university with her best friend Monica, they even found a cute little apartment to share… Everything was perfect until her parents announced they would be getting a divorce and her college fund was now gone due to lawyer fees!

She would now be attending Bishop University, fees were cheaper YES, she would also be living close to home to save on rent, but it was not the university she had in mind. It was filled with students that were older either already in the workforce or studying to better their career. Also Erica was also not happy to learn that she would be travelling across town to attend 2 of her classes on the Military Base!
It was here that she would meet 32 year old Jamie, slicked back dark hair, deep dark chocolate eyes, broad shoulders and bulging upper arms and wearing a grey jumpsuit that fitted his body perfectly in all the right places. There of course was an instant attraction between Erica and Jamie! Erica needed to know more about this mysterious man who sat next to here in the grey jumpsuit with some kind of symbol and “Falcon Club” written on his pocket… Was it a fraternity or some sort of program? Or was it related to the Military?
Erica and Jamie we put into the same group to work on a class assignment, here they are able to spend more time together and the intense flirting begins! Even though Erica is trying to get closer, Jamie is trying to keep her at a distance because in his eyes Erica can do better and deserves better than him. What will happen after Jamie graduates and moves back to Miami with his family? Will Erica follow her heart? Will Jamie want her, or will he try to protect her from his past?

“Erica” He whispered my name. “It was never my intention to hurt you, not ever. I’m sorry. I’m just so scared. My life. Your life. This wasn’t supposed to happen.

This book has it all, romance, intensity, mystery, there are a quit few hot and steamy foreplay scenes that lead up to a point where they can no longer hold back! And of course the cliffhanger, what will happen with Erica and Jamie? We will find out with book 2 The Falcon Club: Falling For Her, told from Jamie’s point of view.

I received an ARC for this book in return for an honest review.... Falling for him is a wonderful book to read and I enjoyed every bit of it. I fell in love with the storyline and the characters right away. At first you think it's going to be your typical college love story but it turns out to be so much more!

We have this young girl named Erica who is fresh out of high school, with plans of going to a state university with her best friend Monica, but when her parents break to news that they are getting a divorce her plans of the fun college life with her bestie disappears. She is left finding a college close to home because she can't afford anything more. Erica enrolls in Bishop University, a college geared towards people who already have jobs/families that are looking to further their career or are going for a better/higher paying job. Did I mention that some of the classes are on a military base. That is because Bishop University joined an education policy with the US Air Force. But come on now, who wouldn't wanna go to school with a bunch of hot military men, YUM! So poor Erica doesn't like that idea and is now stuck going to a college she doesn't really want to go to and taking classes she really didn't want to take. But all of that changes when she lays eyes on Jamie. Jamie is VERY attractive older Hispanic that she quite can't put her fingers on and figure him out. Him along with a couple of other guys in her class all wear this gray jumpsuit with the words "The Falcon club" written on the front of them. She doesn't know what the jumpsuits are for but she wants to learn and she definitely wants to know more about this mysterious Jamie. But Jamie has a secret that she never would of thought of in a million years.... the question is..... Is his secret to much for her to handle? Is he worth getting to know, or for that matter, falling for?

This book is definitely a fresh new twist on opposites attracting and it will keep you wanting more. I caught myself yelling at the book by the end because I didn't want it to end, and I wanted to know more.... I will be biding my time waiting for the second installment to come out. Amy did a wonderful job and I am in love with this book! A must read in my eyes :-)

***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review - Sanne / Scandalous Book Blog***

First things first, if you think that you know what is going to happen I’d suggest that you think again because I can pretty much assure you that it’s not what you thought it was going to be. I know I was pretty surprised.

Erica Kennedy, a young woman on the brink of starting her new life in college, everything was planned out and ready to go... Until her parents decided on a divorce just a few weeks before college was about to start. You know that life can be tickle and can change in the blink of an eye, so it was up to her to form a new game plan, a plan that made her enroll at Bishop University. Little did she know she was to have a few classes on the local Military Base, a place that also housed the “Falcon Club”.

During one of her first classes she meets Jaime, a rather mysterious man who seems to be part of a group that always wears the same jump suits and rarely spoke to any of the other students.

When paired together during a group assignment neither of them can deny the pull they feel towards one another. It’s only a short while before they start to grow closer and form a bond neither of them could have thought that would happen. But what happens when Erica finds out what the “Falcon Club” really is about?

I can tell y'all that it won’t go over a bed of roses, it’ll take some give and take from the both of them. But the passion between these two is so unbelievably strong they can’t not act about it and they start sneaking in extra time between classes just to spend some extra time in each others company.

As you can image fairy tales aren’t always graced with a HEA and life must swoop in at some point. When Jaime graduates and has to start life at home again will it all be over or will a HEA be in their cards after all?

... To be continued ... Because your guess is as good as mine! ;-)

Kudos for originality and for weaving in the erotica without being too erotic.. If anything I’d label this book as mysterious and sensual, that combined with an unlikely new book boyfriend alone should be enough to convince y’all to give this story a go!

Falling for Him is the first part in The Falcon Club two part series. It is written by Amy Stephens. The books starts off with Erica Kennedy about to start her freshman year at college with her best friend. That is until her parents decide to get a divorce and Erica is no longer able to attend the school she wanted to and is forced to go to a local school that is more suited to help older adults continue their education. Two of her classes turn out to be on a military base, so at least she gets to look at some men in uniform, but she also starts to notice that there are guys walking around in a jumpsuit with the name Falcon Club on it. One of those guys is Jamie, and lucky Erica is in a study group with him. There is an attraction between Erica and Jamie, but what will happen when Erica finds out what The Falcon Club is? Will she being willing to take the risk and fall for him?
Amy Stephens is a great author, and this is a really enjoyable book to read, which is only for readers 18 years or older. Thankful I am over 18, so I was able to read this book, and if you are over the age of 18 you should as well. The mystery of what The Falcon Club is keeps you guessing as you read, so it adds thrill to the plot of this love story. The story does end with a cliffhanger, so I can't wait to see what happens next. Amy Stephens has made a fan out of me, I'm hooked and can't wait to see what happens in part two of this story. A great book and I would highly recommend reading it, especially if your looking for a little mystery with your love!

**I got the pleasure of being a Beta reader for Amy.**

This book is not your ordinary college/military romance. Amy was also able to incorporate erotica without over doing. This book keeps you guessing on what will happen and also what the importance is of a
certain grey jumpsuit.

Erica Kennedy is an eighteen year old girl who had her life planned out. Everything was going according to plan until her parents change everything with a divorce. She is left upset at everyone and everything around her. When she has to change her plans and enrolls at Bishop University a local college that works with the Military Base she realizes she needs to grow up. She was very naïve when she started classes and this continues until she goes to her fist class on base and sees a group of mysterious men all dressed in grey jumpsuits. What is with these suits? Make sure to pick up Falling for Him to find out.

While in this first class on base Erica sets her sights on one of these mysterious dressed guys and wants to find out more. What is it about Jamie that has thinking this school do just fine?

This book does have a cliffhanger because it is written in Erica's point-of-view.

I received an ARC for this book in return for an honest review. When I first started reading the book I was like ok here we go, I like to be drawn in right away. As I kept reading it grabbed my interest. Erica’s big college plans changed because of her parents ending their marriage. She was not attending the college she wanted and hopes for meeting that special guy did not look good. Then Jamie came along

Jamie is sexy handsome a little older but there is something about him she must figure it out. Then of course there is the flight suit he and his buddies wear with a patch saying “The Falcon Club”. Intrigued by the flight suit she wants to know what that is all about. Is it worth it?

It is an interesting ride and when you think you have it all figured out, you are wrong. There are secrets to be learned. Are they to much for Erica to handle? Looks like we have to wait to find out in the next book. Yes there is a cliffhanger but Amy lets you know about that before you even get started.
Falling for Him ended up for me being a good read. Great Job Amy Stephens

My honest opinion is while this was a really well written book and original story line I just personally found it hard to get into. I do not like writing any spoilers when I do reviews so I don't really know how to explain why without going into specifics. Age is not a huge factor for me but this one for me just pushed it a little too much. I would have enjoyed it more if she had been maybe like 22. I know people have huge gaps but I felt she was so young for such a large gap. I guess though if you want her to come off as naive as she did her age fits. I honestly think that was what held me up the most was how naive she was the whole first half. So you are probably wondering why I gave it 4 stars if I wasn't a huge fan. Well I found it to be written wonderfully and a story line that I have yet to read. Also it left me intrigued enough that even though it is not a favorite I would read the next book. That to me alone deserves a 4 star rating.

So not what I expected when you talk about uniforms and clubs and the author sure knew how to build it up so that what it comes you are so invested it could have been anything and you were to hooked to care. The story is real and I like that. Do you choose someone because we know they fit that perfect mold? Do we pass people up because we don't approve of the mistakes or choices they made even if it was what they felt was right at the time or do we push forward and go with our heart?! Isn't love supposed to messy and crazy and a leap of faith? We think to much of what society thinks and perceives as normal but Amy hit the nail on the head with this honest can't help yourself kind of love story! I can't wait for the next book! I was worried about the characters being young but It all fit the story. Great read I highly recommend if you can handle a dose of real life and all its possibilities!

Erica's parents surprise divorce has her changing her plans. She enrolls into Bishop University where she has to attend one class on a military base. On this base they have a federal prison and the inmates are allowed to attend college as well. These men are known as The Falcon Club.

Jaime has been an inmate for far too long, when he see's Erica they have an instant connection. Erica and Jaime end up doing a project together which leads them to falling in love. They have to sneak around to see each other, because inmates are not allowed to have anything to do with the other students.

Jaime is graduating, getting released, and heading home. Will Erica follow Jaime home, or will this be it for their quick romance!?

Amy Stephens is a very good writer. Her stories are well thought out and are enjoyable to read.
We start off with Erica's life being turned upside down. Everything changes in such a short time and she is trying to figure it out at the same time as trying to figure out who and what she wants in life. During this time she meets Jamie.
Jamie is a guy of mystery to Erica. He's good looking, kind and smart. During the story we learn more about him through Erica's and she starts to fall for him.
This books ends in a cliffhanger that makes you want to read the next book to know what happens. I would recommend this book but if you hate cliffhangers wait till the second one comes out.

This book is about a Erica, college freshman, and Jaime, a slightly older college senior. Theirs is a chance meeting in a class they have together. The story starts out a little slow. Honestly the first few chapters I was a little indifferent to the story, but it quickly builds up to a nice HOT rhythm. This is far from a predictable college love story.

Just what IS the Falcon Club? It takes Erica a while to discover, but when she does it sets the tone for the rest of the book. I knew when I started reading it that this book had a cliff hanger...but dang it I didn't want it to end there!! I'm already anxious to read book 2!! I want more of their story.

I rate this book a strong 3.5 to 4 stars, so going with 4. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WOW! This book was not at all what I expected. The falcon club sounds mysterious and you instantly want to know more, however this is not your everyday “fun” club. When college freshman Erica meets older Jamie, member of the falcon club, in one of her class is she instantly intrigued. Jamie is gorgeous and seems to be interested in Erica at well.
This was not your typical college romance book, In a book that made me heart melt and then made me want to jump into my kindle and beat someone, Amy Stephens has done an amazing job with this book…the ending left my mouth open and my heart racing. Hats off to what promises to be a wonderful series.

I received a copy of this book for an hontest review. I give it 4.5 Stars.

Amy Stephens did a great job with Falling for Him!!

Erica is a young adult just heading into her first yea of College, but not where she was planning on due to her parents divorce.

Jamie is in one of Erica's college classes, he is in The Falcon Club.

They are paired up working together in a group project. The chemistry and attraction is instant. When Erica finds out what The Falcon Club really is she is shocked, but will that deter form the connection they have?

This story flows very well the characters are likable. There is a large age gab between Erica and Jamie
One click this book! I am looking forward to reading part two in The Falcon Club series!

The blurb alone sold me on this book. Mysterious men in grey jumpsuits, yes please! I liked the premise of this book. Erica going off to college...but not the college she had originally planned on attending with her best friend. Enter the mystery man in grey jumpsuit, who is in class with her & Erica finds that's this college won't be so bad after all. Some ups and downs in this book & you could feel the connection between the characters. The author does state that this book ends on a cliffy...so be prepared to be left hanging. Overall enjoyable quick read & anxious for book 2 in this story.

I was given the opportunity to get an ARC of this book & I absolutely LOVED it! It's so completely different from all the other books out there & I fell in love with Erica & Jaime. I couldn't put it down, I was sneaking around at work to read a few paragraphs here & there. The story & characters were developed well & always kept you guessing. Besides the interest in the story line, picturing Jamie in that gray jumpsuit with all those muscles was enough to keep me interested! There is a cliffhanger so be prepared. You will not be disappointed with this book. Thanks again to Amy for the opportunity to read it, can't wait for book #2!

The only reason this book didn't get four stars is because it's so interesting. Every page that brought me closer to the end had me gripping the book in frustration and hoping like hell it wasn't what I suspected. Yep, a cliffy. Now, I've read a whole lot of them, but I don't like them. I don't knock a star off just because of it and if the book is good I give it what it deserves. But I really just want people to write the whole book from the start and stop torturing me.

Anyway, this book had been good and I really hope the next one comes out soon because I want to read it! I need to know the end!

**ARC kindly provided for a honest review**
First off I was kind of hesitant when i started reading because I was not sure what to expect and it was a little slow in the begining but to tell the truth.. Once I started it I could not put this book down.. Different from a lot of books I have read.. I was pleasantly surprised.. I did enjoy reading about Erica & Jaime. I can not wait to read Jaime's story and to see where they end up.. Hoping they get there HEA they so much deserve.. And maybe a Monica book...? Thank you for the opportunity to read this :)

This is not your typical college romance story, it is different from any I have read before. I really enjoyed this story of Erica and Jaime. I am hooked and can't wait for book two. I am anxious to see it from Jaime's POV and to find out what happens. Ms. Stephens has written another unique story that has me really feeling for the characters and in tears at some points in the story. I was given an ARC for a fair and honest review.

I had the absolute pleasure of receiving an ARC of Falling For Him by Amy Stephens for review! I absolutely loved it!!!!! I am so happy I had the pleasure to read this book. Everything from the characters to the plot line was written to absolute perfection. The characters were described beautifully and the plot line was dynamic and detailed. I have read every book by Amy Stephens and this is by far my absolute favourite. 4 Huge Stars!!
