Stories of God's Providence

Four stories of second chances and finding love. The first story was Yours by Christmas. Beckett had gone from a great job in finance to homeless in a short period of time. He helped hand out blankets to those on the streets. He had only himself to blame. When his job became too much pressure, he turned to alcohol. He was driving drunk when he swerved off the road and shattered his little girl's leg. She went through multiple surgeries and physical therapy to learn to walk again. Melanie divorced him. He was fired. Now he survived on the streets. He slept in shelters. This night he got on the train and fell asleep. He was shaken awake at the last stop. He got out and started walking. He heard a call for help and saw a car that slid in the ditch. He tried to get the woman out, but she was stuck. So he sat with her and tried to keep her warm. This was a story of God's blessing in hidden ways. Beckett makes a promise to this woman. She will stay alive and he will get his life back on track. Much later Beckett has become a fireman. He is sober and tries to give back in gratitude for his life changes. He meets Ava and is amazed by her. He is a better man with her in his life. Ava has made friends with the grumpiest man in town. She finds that he is a very thoughtful man and he comes to her bakery every afternoon and they talk. She is concerned about his health. He looks very fragile. One day there is a knock on her door. She is told that the old man was found dead in his house. He had leukemia. His lawyer tells Ava he needs to meet with her and Beckett in his office. They are in for a huge surprise. This is a story of God's providence and love for his children. Great characters and great story. The second story was High Heels and Big Deals. Presley was making a name for herself in country music. Her manager, Alden told her he had made a great move for her. She was going to sing in the Christmas showcase but she hadn't sing the song and wear the costume picked out for her by Lovie Barnes. The only problem was that Presley sang songs to empower girls and women to be whatever they dreamed to be. The costume Livie picked was tight and revealing. The opposite of what Presley usually wore. And the song chosen was a trashy thing that Presley despised. She told Alden she didn't want to do the number or wearcthe outfit. He said it was a small request that guarantees her success. She decided to head home for Christmas. The closer she gets, the heavier the snow falls. She's almost home when she hits a patch if black ice and slides off the road and into a tree. She is rescued by fireman and paramedic Beau Primrose who she resents from a high school incident. He takes her to his place, bandages her injuries, and offers his guest room. The more time they spend together, the more they enjoy the company. Beau, a playboy with dozens of girls in his past, finds himself thinking that he could see himself settling down with Presley. Something he vowed never to do. She was reluctant to give Beau any thoughts of a relationship because of his reputation with women. This is a story of a woman sticking with her beliefs and being rewarded for it. Great story and great characters. The third story was a sweet story of best friends who are reluctant to express their love for each other for fear of destroying their friendship. It took a brave step forward and support from friends who saw their true feelings for years. Great ending and great message. Story number four was filled with suspense and action. A family who enters Witness Protection finds real happiness in their new life. It's a story of learning to trust after betrayal and threats. It's also a story of God working all things for good
in surprising ways. I really liked it. Story number five was False Illusions and was a story of mistrust and protection that felt more like a cage. Lots of suspense and danger, grief and loss. Living in a mansion that feels dangerous and a man who is a mystery. The plot is very tense and the characters were scary, even a little psycho. But that made it so interesting. I needed to keep reading to find out what happened next. A great story. This was a great series of stories, each unique and inspiring. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
