The final Sue-lution is upon us. The reality-bending Sues have taken the Enterprise AND the Tardis, thrown our heroes into a series of utter disarray, and are on the verge of recreating all time and space in their image. Out only hope may be the very thing that caused this mess: Ensign Mary Amethyst Star Enoby Aiko Archer Picard Janeway Sue! But with her powers gone and her loyalties in question, can the girl that everyone loves to hate find it within herself to save the multiverse? Or will she only hasten its aSUEmilation? A few familiar faces may have the answer. It all comes down to this, the FINAL chapter in the Ensign Sue saga. Resistance is SUE-tile.
There we go! The packed-full mess of the second book actually resolves into a somewhat cute if a little confusing climax as we learn exactly where all the Sues have been coming from and what their full plans are.
The conclusion is much stronger for not inflating the character count as much - there's still a bunch of new cameos but they're mostly there as background and decoration, giving finding one you like a somewhat "Where's Waldo" feel. :)
Argh, I’m crying over a friggin’ Mary Sue. This is the best conclusion to this series. It ramps up the action threefold, is more emotional than both previous webcomics combined, and has really good art. The God Sue is a genuinely scary villain, and it manages to make Ensign Sue actually redeemed. It’s amazing that I can feel the stakes in a story that started as a silly little story about a Mary Sue. So, this is a great ending.
A great conclusion to the Ensign Sue saga. I was surprised to see that some bits I thought were one-off jokes earlier actually paid off as plot points! And there's some great meta-commentary on Mary Sues in general. It does get a bit too crazy towards the end, but it's still a fun ride. (B+)
