First, as noted in the beginning of the book, this is not a standalone book. It is meant t be read along with the reading of The Duff:(Designated Ugly Fat Friend) by Kody Keplinger. The first couple sections of the book are meant to be read along with the book, while the final sections and Final Analysis is meant to be read after The Duff.

Katherine breaks the book into three or four chapter units for her section on Chapter Analysis & Discussion. She brings up many points I hadn't thought of while reading, one of which is the use of closed doors.

The Character Guide is a great section included before the Character Analysis, which is a deeper look into Bianca, Wesley, Toby, Casey and Jessica.

My favorite section of this book is the Alternate Endings. Katherine chooses one of the endings I had imagined, what if she chose the other guy, and an ending possibility I hadn't thought of. I'd like to read that one as well. The second possibility hadn't even crossed my mind, but may have created a whole new world for all the characters.

I enjoyed the inclusion of a mini synopsis of The Scarlet Letter. It helped tie the elements of the book together to be reminded of the lessons learned about and by Hester Prynne.

I do think this Sidekick would be a good addition to reading with and follow reading The Duff:(Designated Ugly Fat Friend) by Kody Keplinger. I give this book five stars.
I was given the chance to read The Duff:(Designated Ugly Fat Friend) by Kody Keplinger--Sidekick by Katherine R. Miller in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the original book quite a bit which surprised me. I remember reading the description of Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kodi Keplinger, and I wasn't interested in the slightest. I'm glad I finally gave it a shot because it was much better than I had anticipated, thanks to this guide from Katherine R. Miller.

This summary book was exactly what I was looking for! Well-written and filled with lots of helpful information, I ended up understanding the original book much better than I expected. I particularly enjoyed the plot analysis and list of secondary characters in addition to the main ones.

Waste of money

This book was not worth the money if you actually read the book, The Duff. Honestly, I want a refund.
