Funny and inventive, I enjoyed the story and the illustrations, but it was just something missing, I can't put my finger on it. The ending was quite a cliffhanger, I wonder if there are more books from this series to read. All in all, a fun read.

Billy discovers strange creatures called Blobheads in his bathroom one day. They are searching the High Emperor of the Universe - who just might be his slobbering, pooping baby brother!

With some silly adventures reminiscent of their Muddle Earth series for older readers, Billy tries valiantly to hide the purple aliens (Zerek, Kerek and Derek) from his parents are also tries his best to stop them coming to school...

It's all very silly, but just right for a short read for primary school students who may reluctantly pick up a book. Lots of slime and snot, prat-falling and a good combination of fantasy and everyday life.

I listened to the audio version, the narrator of which did a series of good 'alien' voices, but made Billy a bit whiney. Maybe better on paper.

Nice short chapters, and one for boys especially, ages 8-12.
