From the authors of the best-selling series Cherringham

Just outside Mydworth, hidden by the river's curve, stands Chilton House - home and weekend refuge to a famous modern artist and his bohemian circle from London. Their visits bring laughter, music, and whispers of scandal to the countryside.

Then one summer night, a celebration turns dark. When tragedy follows, Kat and Harry are drawn into a maze of jealousy and dangerous secrets - where art and ambition can prove a deadly mix.

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series Piece of Cake. He is also the lead in the BBC series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audiobooks to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

I think this is one of the longest series I keep returning to. It is always a good time. Every story is fast paced, funny and interesting. It's not the best though out crime Novell ever but by now you just adore Lord & Lady Mortimer investigating together.

I really do love this series, and this is another fab mystery for Harry and Kat.
This is book 19, and this time the story is set in Mydworth. Harry is tasked by his Aunt Lavinia to be the auctioneer at a charity event at the Manor, full of art from the infamous Chilton House group of artists. The auction goes well, until the police arrive at the end announcing that one of the artists has been found drowned in the local river. And so begins the latest murder mystery for Harry and Kat to solve.
I really enjoyed this mystery, it was very good, full of lots of suspicious characters, just like an Agatha Christie story. So many people had motives and were acting suspiciously throughout, that I didn’t have a clue who the murderer was, at all.
As always Nathaniel Parker’s narration was perfect. I loved all the voices he used for the different characters, he truly is the voice of this series.
Highly recommended on audio if you enjoy historical cosy mysteries.

This one, like all Mydworth Mysteries, is nothing super special, yet entertaining, and so I keep reading/listening to them.
It's been three days since I listened to the audiobook (I finished it within one day), and I can't quite remember who the murder victim or the murderer was. But I know, I was entertained.

As this is book 19 in the series, one has to assume that Harry and Kat have now been married at least a couple of years. I therefore find it difficult to accept that the dialogue between them would still be like newly weds. No matter what the era, life moves on and people grow and change. Maybe not much in a couple of years I grant you, but still enough for the dialogue between a married couple of have changed over that time. Other than that (which I actually find quite annoying), these stories are really quite good.

Another great adventure with Harry and Kat! These mysteries are so much fun but go by too quickly.

Lukijana upea Nathaniel Parker.
Juoni oli hieman sekava ja hahmoja oli niin monta, että menin välillä sekaisin heissä. Rakastan Parkerin luentaa, joten hänelle tuli oma tähti.
